LTM has announced full details of its reissues of the two albums released by The Other Two, the band formed by Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert of New Order in the Nineties.

The Other Two & You and Super Highways are both remastered with extra tracks, new artwork and detailed sleevenotes.

Magnetic Fields 2010 North American Tour

The Magnetic Fields have announced a string of US and Canadian dates in Feb/March 2010 in support of their forthcoming album, Realism which will be released via Nonesuch Records on 26 January 2010.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 20 November but a limited number are available via MusicToday from, erm, today.

After their North American jaunt the band will be heading this side of the pond for European dates. Thus far only one has been announced (but stand by for more) and this is at the Barbican on Monday 22 November. Tickets are available on pre-sale now via ArtistTicket and other outlets.

Two more names join Stephen Morris at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on Friday 27 November. James Nice of LTM and Peter Saville have joined Graeme Park, Ross Mackenzie and Andy Spinoza on the panel for the previously-announced debate at MOSI next week.

"The Hacienda's coming to Salford at last!" says Peter Hook, who together with friends in Langworthy has arranged a special night at the Ashley Brook pub on Liverpool Street as a benefit for the new Christie radiotherapy centre at Salford Royal Hospital.

"I'll be DJing with another Hacienda DJ and signing books" says Hooky "We did a signing in Manchester and my friend Twinny said we should do a Hacienda night in Salford which we're well overdue."

Bad Lieutenant cancel US tour

Bad Lieutenant's US tour has been cancelled due to visa problems reports Pitchfork / Brooklyn Vegan.

In the band's statement, Bernard Sumner said, "We were all so very excited about coming to the States to play our new music for our American fans and are extremely disappointed that on this occasion, we won't have the opportunity to do so. We plan to reschedule the Chicago and New York shows along with some additional U.S. dates in Spring 2010."

Stephen Morris (recently seen discussing Manchester music with Kevin Cummins and Paul Morley) is to lead a debate about the Manchester music scene past, present and future at MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry), Liverpool Road, Manchester, on Friday 27 November 2009 at 7.30pm.

In the Stephen Morris and friends Manchester music debate, he will talk to ex-Hacienda DJ Graeme Park about their own experiences, the Factory days and what that Manchester music scene might look like in years to come. Morris and Park will be joined by founder of City Life and MD of SKV Communications, Andy Spinoza, and club entrepreneur Ross MacKenzie (owner of One Central Street, Purple Pussycat and Black Dog Ballroom).

The audience will then be invited to ask questions, with Park compering the debate.

The debate starts at 7.30pm and the doors and bar open at 6.30pm.

The Roundhouse in London was the perfect venue for last night's audio-visual book event for Manchester: Looking for the Light through the Pouring Rain by Kevin Cummins. There was a notable absentee in the form of a certain Mr Noel Gallagher but there was a notable substitute in the form of Stephen Morris. Paul Morley, having originally thought he was going to get out of hosting duties was called on to resume this familiar role.

The evening began with a 20-minute presentation of Kevin Cummins's photos set to original music by Graham Massey (Biting Tongues, 808 State) which set the evening off on the right note.

Paul Morley then steered a lively panel and audience discussion session which touched on influences, Manchester, architecture and fantasy bands.

Stephen Morris observed that Kevin Cummins had single-handedly romanticised Manchester the way it's never been romanticised before. That, and he made Joy Division look like they came from Eastern Europe...

On those famous "snow photos" Kevin reminisced that he feared that by setting the band so far away in the shot with the Manchester landscape in the background he feared that the best the shots would get in the NME would be that the Top 50 singles would be listed over the foreground. Fortunately the shots were used unfettered at first and it wasn't until Christmas that the Top 50 singles were added.

Afterwards Messrs Cummins, Morris and Morley signed copies of the book which was being sold in the foyer.

The Kevin Cummins tour continues on 21 November in Den Haag, 22 November in Antwerp (both with Paul Morley), comes back to London on 1 December at the Cochrane Theatre, London (with Paul Morley, Mike Pickering and Bez) before the year's events finish at A Factory Night (And then again) at Plan K, Brussels on 12 December.

Money raised will go towards helping cancer patients in the region.

Credit To The Edit Vol 2

Whilst Credit To The Edit Volume 1, bar a couple of exceptions, focused solely on tracks originally released in the 70's and 80's, with Credit To The Edit Vol 2, Greg Wilson brings things right up to date, with two thirds of the album made up of recordings from recent years, all of which have done the business for todays clubs. Volume 1 connected the past to the present, Volume 2 provides a perfect illustration of how the present is being shaped by the past, with artists from both sides of the Atlantic taking their inspiration from the type of music highlighted in the first volume, neatly serving to bring the project full circle in the process.
