faux-granite and 3D gorjuss card + vlog

good saturday everyone!

the sun is shining and the birds are chirping here and i'm sitting on my patia thinking that i could... work a little bit and share my latest projects :-) . i've had a fun time playing with a new product called naturally aged paint system by tattered angels. they are kits with 4 different products that are specifically designed to mimick a faux-finish (wood, granite, marble, stone, bricks, etc.). they can be applied to various surfaces and i have to make a tutorial for Scrapbook Centrale on this new product so i thought i'd share the projects with you. i've also experimented with a few other techniques with the same kit and you can see them here:

i also made a very quick card with a 3D decoupage kit by GORJUSS:

quick and easy and doesn't require any fussy cutting. love it!

impression obsession dahlia watercoloured card + video tutorial

hellooooo!

it's a beautiful sunny day here and i thought i'd share something cheerful and bright with you. I had fun putting a video tutorial together while i watercoloured this dahlia using ink refills (full list of supplies at the end of the post).

i used the picked raspberry distress ink to stamp the flower and i used different ink refills to color it. the result is a "no lines" image using shadows to delimit each petal.

i could spend hours watercolouring. i love watching the ink find its way through water channels and i love the intensity of the colours. below is the video i put together as well as other photos.

the one above was done using the same method during an impression obsession workshop.

this one is different in that i embossed the image with white powder, making it a little bit easier to color since the embossed lines resist the ink.

tim holtz' configurations book

bonjour!

i've been meaning to add a few pictures and video updates here for a while so... here we go! today, i'd like to share with you a big project i did using tim holtz's configurations book. it was a big undertaking for me but i'm really happy with how it turned out.

the papers i used to decorate the box/book is by Pion Designs (spring collection). these papers are beautiful and perfect for the shabby chic look i wanted to give the book. for the cover, i used a whole bunch of embellishments and texture. if you want more details about this project, you can watch the video below. i've added more photos at the end of this post.

sometimes i journal in my art book

good day everyone!

here's a few photos of an art journal page i completed last week. i used PanPastels and oil pastels and more. it was so liberating to domething random in my journal and i hope i'll have more time to devote to it. it's such a free-form art and i love it.

i used rub-ons to create some of the elements and i love how the flowers i intended to do turned into what i call bubble trees. you can watch the video to see how i did them too.

hello!

so, i've been editing videos like crazy and i thought i'd share photos of some the projects i've recently made. most of these are objects of video tutorials on scrapbook centrale's channel and you can check them out here. and you can also watch the vlog related to that post below:

the image on this card is not stamped but embossed with the "beatnik bouquet" embossing folder from sizzix. the way i brought the image to life was by using the big brush pens by faber-castell over the raised areas. the background is just watercolored. love the look!

for project #2, i wanted to mix a lot of patterns. i took a pattern paper from the french country collection by graphic45 and kept the rest of my colour palette neutral. the background is accented with washi tapes. very simple, yet effective.

project #3 - not my favourite... but i like some of the elements. the object for this tutorial was to use the piccolo line of chipboard shapes and embossing enamels. the little boy is from one the pion papers; i changed the color of the shirt with tumbled glass distress ink by ranger.

i added glossy accents on the glasses.

i am neglecting you so much... i'm trying to catch up but if you miss me you can always find me on YouTube for the latest developments. i thought i'd start posting about projects that i've completed recently. feel free to ask me any questions about them.

angelle showed me how to properly put a 3D card together:

it's an Anton Piek painting that i've cut out by hand and put together with Scrap Dots, a silicone-based glue.

the little dog at the bottom of the card has 3 different layers to it... yup, lots of very small fussy cutting. but i loved every single minute of it.
