Have you ever been afraid to use a brand new product? And then you knock yourself over the head for having waited so long. I have to admit I've had those moments quite a few times. The latest one was with Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Treat Cups. And why, pray tell? They're absolutely easy and fun to use!!! Especially for a person like me who excels in the sport of eating candies. That's right; to me it's a sport. Can't get enough of 'em. I love to buy them, I love to eat and I love to give them as gifts.

Look at that! Wouldn't you like to get a card like this filled with candies?! So easy to do too! You stamp the Christmas ornament image from Sweet Centers stamp set, punch a whole with the 1 3/4" Circle punch, pass the cup through, fill it with candies, back it up with a piece of Real Red CS and you've a wonderful centerpiece for your card. The backgroup paper is from Merry Moments DSP and the card base is Whisper White. I've added a little bow with some Silver Elastic Cord and the sentiment from Berry Christmas stamp set is embossed in Silver EP. Oh, and I've rounded some corners with the 3/16" Corner Rounder punch.

Oh, and you know what's great?! Stampin' Up! even thought of padded envelopes to send those special cards through the mail!!! What will they think of next?!

Can't wait for Christmas to see what candies my Santas will bring me :-)

Oof, what a day yesterday! Gen and I worked like maniacs preparing for the Glitter Sisters Technique Class for next Friday. One of the technique, Craft Ink Smooshing, was very stimulating for me and when we finished the samples for the class, we were left with little bits and pieces. So I decided to do a card with them.

The card base is Taken With Teal CS. The little strip of glitter on the Old Olive CS (punched with the Scallop Edge punch) is what Gen and I called Glittered Craft Ink Smooshing. It's a fun background technique to do and I can't wait to share this with my Glitter Sisters. The bell on the stamped image (from the Christmas Classics stamp set) was first colored with a Blender Pen and then covered with 2-way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamond Glitter. The gorgeous Old Olive 3/8" Taffeta ribbon is from the Mistletoe Ribbon Originals in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.

Unusual colors for Christmas? Yes, but I like it!!!

It's for you... for Christmas! This is a card I made to accompany the gift I made yesterday for Week 6 of my 12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas. My sister-in-law doesn't know it but it's going to her for Christmas. It's OK, she doesn't read my blog.

I really like this color combination for Christmas. It looks so... Rich.... Razzleberry (pardon my humour). I love it paired with Old Olive. Add glitter and you've got quite the Christmas feel.

The hard part with this card was to add the glitter on the background ornaments. I used the 2-way glue pen but the polka-dot one is a little bit "bumpy" for a lack of better words. But I think it still looks nice and I'm sure she will appreciate it.

OK, before you look at the picture below and wonder, let me inform you that I have full consent from my friend SophieThé... She is a very brave girl :-) Last Saturday, she came by to help me distribute goodies to the trick-or-treaters and she showed up dressed like this:

Now, I really don't know who was more scared... the kids or me?! You should have heard some of the comments we got from some of the kids. She had the talkin' and the walkin' and the posture down path. Real funny.

petal party notebooks

I'm obsessed with my little notebooks! I just can't stop making them. I think they're adorable and I'm having fun choosing all kinds of color combos. Today, we're playing with very bright colors!

Gen came over last night and helped me prep for my Christmas Cards Workshop and then we played while her kids were sleeping. Of course, I played with baby Sara and William a little ... couldn't help myself. But this is what we came up with:

Love 'em!!! So cute! We decided to use the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' kit. The embellishments and the papers are so fun. I can't wait to make more of these notebooks with the rest of the paper and stickers. That owl is the cutest thing.

Oh, and while I was in the shower Gen made these with the left over scraps of paper:

They are tiny tiny cards and are perfect to give away with the notebooks! Boy, she's a smart cookie this one, let me tell ya.
