Bart Stupak Yields To Presidential Pressure.

Pro-life Rep. Stupak, has yielded his conviction to uphold life, to the pressures of the president. He does so because President Obama promised to sign an executive order to keep abortion funding out of any health care program. However, a presidential executive order to modify the language of the senate bill could be ruled unconstitutional.

Even if the president signs an executive order any president that follows can cancel that order or for that matter so can President Obama. Basically, the promise given to Stupak for his yes vote is worthless.

Perhaps come this November the American people can elect representatives a little more savvy and with a lot more common sense.

Sorry, Rep. Stupak, your a pawn that has just been played in a much bigger game.

The U.S. Confrence of Bishops say that health care is a right, and that they support health reform without abortion provisions. The progressive factions of our government run on these statements and think they have a Catholic mandate to pass socialized health care. However, nothing can be further from the truth.

As Catholics and American Citizens that love our liberty we need to know the truth clearly explained and clearly understood. To clarify the position of the church, it's important to hear the prominent voices that have spoken out against government run health care.

His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI

“The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering person -every person -needs: namely, loving personal concern.

We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything, but a State which, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, generously acknowledges and supports initiatives arising from the different social forces and combines spontaneity with closeness to those in need.

… In the end, the claim that just social structures would make works of charity superfluous masks a materialist conception of man: the mistaken notion that man can live ‘by bread alone’ (Mt 4:4; cf. Dt 8:3) - a conviction that demeans man and ultimately disregards all that is specifically human.” (Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est #28)

Bishop R. Walker Nickless, Diocese of Sioux City, Iowa

First and most important, the Church will not accept any legislation that mandates coverage, public or private, for abortion, euthanasia, or embryonic stem-cell research.

Second, the Catholic Church does not teach that “health care” as such, without distinction, is a natural right. The “natural right” of health care is the divine bounty of food, water, and air without which all of us quickly die. This bounty comes from God directly. None of us own it, and none of us can morally withhold it from others. The remainder of health care is a political, not a natural, right, because it comes from our human efforts, creativity, and compassion. As a political right, health care should be apportioned according to need, not ability to pay or to benefit from the care. We reject the rationing of care. Those who are sickest should get the most care, regardless of age, status, or wealth. But how to do this is not self-evident. The decisions that we must collectively make about how to administer health care therefore fall under “prudential judgment.”

Third, in that category of prudential judgment, the Catholic Church does not teach that government should directly provide health care. Unlike a prudential concern like national defense, for which government monopolization is objectively good – it both limits violence overall and prevents the obvious abuses to which private armies are susceptible – health care should not be subject to federal monopolization. Preserving patient choice (through a flourishing private sector) is the only way to prevent a health care monopoly from denying care arbitrarily, as we learned from HMOs in the recent past. While a government monopoly would not be motivated by profit, it would be motivated by such bureaucratic standards as quotas and defined “best procedures,” which are equally beyond the influence of most citizens.

Bishop Thomas G. Doran, Diocese of Rockford, IL

Our more than bicentennial experience with our federal government leads many to the conclusion that our government really does only one thing well: waging war. In every other area of life, when someone says, “I am from the government and I am here to help you,” our survival instinct tells us to run and hide. In the early ’90s when the health care scare was last put upon us, the opposition crowed: “If you like the postal service, you will love national health,” and that still seems to be the feeling of many.

Our federal bureaucracy is a vast wasteland strewn with the carcasses of absurd federal programs which proved infinitely worse than the problems they were established to correct. It perhaps is too extreme to say that competent government is an oxymoron, but sometimes it seems that way. The moral principal of subsidiarity implies decreasing the role of government and employers in health care when lower order groups can better serve individuals and families. We need to think of health care as more of a market than a system.

Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, Archbishop of Denver

While adequate health care for all Americans may not be seen by some as a “right” in the same sense as our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it certainly is an obligation of a just society. If we see ourselves as a civilized people, then we have a duty to satisfy the basic medical needs of the poor, the elderly and the disabled to the best of our ability. This is why America’s bishops have pressed so hard for national health-care reform for so many years, and continue to do so.

The principle of subsidiarity in Catholic social thought reminds us that problems should be solved as modestly and locally as possible. In other words, government involvement should normally be the choice of last resort. Moreover, a proper government role in solving the health-care crisis does not necessarily demand a national public plan, run or supervised by government authorities. Real health-care reform need not automatically translate into federal programming.

Bishop Samuel J. Aquila, Diocese of Fargo, ND

Subsidiarity is the principle that states “a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1883). As a society seeks to bring about any good such as health care, there are many organic and intermediate groups which cooperate together to reach the desired goal. There is a danger in being persuaded to think that the national government is the sole instrument of the common good. Rather, according to the classic principle of subsidiarity in Catholic social thought, many different communities within society share this responsibility.

States, towns, fraternal organizations, businesses, cooperatives, parishes and especially the family have not only legitimate freedom to provide the goods they are rightly capable of supplying, but often times do so with far greater efficiency, less bureaucracy and, most importantly, with personalized care and love.

As our society seeks to achieve the goal of ensuring access to health care for all, the federal government surely has a role to play, but definitely not the only role, or even the primary role. Working together with individual states to foster an environment where greater insurance options are available to all, fostering the formation of new and creative associations and finding ways in solidarity to assist financially and coordinate, when necessary, local and private entities are all desirable starting points for a task of such great scope. Honoring the principle of subsidiarity will enable all men and women to be true participants in contributing to the goal of providing greater access to health care.
Finn, Bishop of Kansas City-St. Joseph

Joint Statement of Bishops Naumann and Finn

The right of every individual to access health care does not necessarily suppose an obligation on the
part of the government to provide it. Yet in our American culture, Catholic teaching about the “right” to
healthcare is sometimes confused with the structures of “entitlement.” The teaching of the Universal Church has never been to suggest a government socialization of medical services. Rather, the Church has asserted the rights of every individual to have access to those things most necessary for sustaining and caring for human life, while at the same time insisting on the personal responsibility of each individual to care properly for his or her own health.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church speaks of the obligation to promote the common good as “the sum total of social conditions which allow people, either as groups or individuals, to reach their fulfillment more fully and easily.” (CCC #1906) It is very clear that, respectful of this principle, we must find some way to provide a safety net for people in need without diminishing personal responsibility or creating an inordinately bureaucratic structure which will be vulnerable to financial abuse, be crippling to our national economy, and remove the sense of humanity from the work of healing and helping the sick.

The Church clearly advocates authentic reform which addresses this obligation, while respecting the fundamental dignity of persons and not undermining the stability of future generations.

we cannot be passive concerning health care policy in our country. There is important work to be done, but
“change” for change’s sake; change which expands the reach of government beyond its competence would do more harm than good. Change which loses sight of man’s transcendent dignity or the irreplaceable value of human life; change which could diminish the role of those in need as agents of their own care is not truly human progress at all.
O'Brien, Archdiocese of Baltimore

We fully recognize the complexity of the challenges our country faces in our efforts to achieve meaningful health care reform, and we don’t pretend to have the final answers on every aspect of this issue. At the same time, however, we believe that health care reform must reflect basic moral principles.

In dealing with specific policy, one basic principle of Catholic social teaching that would be relevant here is that of subsidiarity. Though not cited as such, I suspect that this principle is at the root of the many questions being raised about present legislative health care proposals.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need and help to co- ordinate its activity with the activities of the rest of society, always with a view to the common good." In short, nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization which can be done as well by a smaller and simpler organization.
His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI “The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering person -every person -needs: namely, loving personal concern. Dt 8:3) - a conviction that demeans man and ultimately disregards all that is specifically human.” (Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est #28) Bishop R. Walker Nickless, Diocese of Sioux City, Iowa First and most important, the Church will not accept any legislation that mandates coverage, public or private, for abortion, euthanasia, or embryonic stem-cell research. The decisions that we must collectively make about how to administer health care therefore fall under “prudential judgment.” Third, in that category of prudential judgment, the Catholic Church does not teach that government should directly provide health care. See full statement: http://www.scdiocese.org/Stewardship/healthcare/tabid/416/Default.aspx Bishop Thomas G. Doran, Diocese of Rockford, IL Our more than bicentennial experience with our federal government leads many to the conclusion that our government really does only one thing well: waging war. In every other area of life, when someone says, “I am from the government and I am here to help you,” our survival instinct tells us to run and hide.

The 9 Principles

1. America Is Good.

"The course of American history demonstrates the difficulties, the struggles, and the great intellectual and moral resolve which were demanded to shape a society which faithfully embodied these noble principles (Principals of the founding fathers). In that process, which forged the soul of the nation, religious beliefs were a constant inspiration and driving force, as for example in the struggle against slavery and in the civil rights movement. In our time too, particularly in moments of crisis, Americans continue to find their strength..." Pope Benedict XVI, 2008 White House Speech

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

No need for any explanation, as every Catholic should agree with this.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

"In a society in which truth is neither mentioned nor sought, every form of authentic exercise of freedom will be weakened, opening the way to libertine and individualistic distortions and undermining the protection of the good of the human person and of the entire society." DOCTRINAL NOTE on some questions regarding The Participation of Catholics in Political Life, Nov 21, 2002, Pope John Paul II

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

"....The family needs to be safeguarded and promoted, based on monogamous marriage between a man and a woman, and protected in its unity and stability in the face of modern laws on divorce: in no way can other forms of cohabitation be placed on the same level as marriage, nor can they receive legal recognition as such. The same is true for the freedom of parents regarding the education of their children; it is an inalienable right recognized also by the Universal Declaration on Human Rights." Instruction by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, November 24, 2002

"The task of educating belongs fundamentally and primarily to the family. The function of the State is subsidiary: its role is to guarantee, protect, promote and supplement. Whenever the State lays claim to an educational monopoly, it oversteps its rights and offends justice. It is parents who have the right to choose the school to which they send their children and the right to set up end support educational centres in accordance with their own beliefs." INSTRUCTION ON CHRISTIAN FREEDOM AND LIBERATION, March 22, 1986, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, signed by John Paul II

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

2266 "The efforts of the state to curb the spread of behavior harmful to people's rights and to the basic rules of civil society correspond to the requirement of safeguarding the common good. Legitimate public authority has the right and the duty to inflict punishment proportionate to the gravity of the offense. Punishment has the primary aim of redressing the disorder introduced by the offense. When it is willingly accepted by the guilty party, it assumes the value of expiation. Punishment then, in addition to defending public order and protecting people's safety, has a medicinal purpose: as far as possible, it must contribute to the correction of the guilty party."

Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2nd edition

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

"From the dawn of the Republic, America's quest for freedom has been guided by the conviction that the principles governing political and social life are intimately linked to a moral order based on the dominion of God the Creator. The framers of this nation's founding documents drew upon this conviction when they proclaimed the "self-evident truth" that all men are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights grounded in the laws of nature and of nature's God." Pope Benedict XVI 2008 White House Speech

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

"By intervening directly and depriving society of its responsibility, the Social Assistance State leads to a loss of human energies and an inordinate increase of public agencies, which are dominated more by bureaucratic ways of thinking than by concern for serving their clients, and which are accompanied by an enormous increase in spending. In fact, it would appear that needs are best understood and satisfied by people who are closest to them and who act as neighbours to those in need." Centesimus annus, May 01, 1991, Pope John Paul II

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

---"..One cannot passively accept, still less actively support, groups which by force or by the manipulation of public opinion take over the State apparatus and unjustly impose on the collectivity an imported ideology contrary to the culture of the people."

---"One must condemn with eciual vigour violence exercised by the powerful against the poor, arbitrary action by the police, and any form of violence established as a system of government."

---"Nor can one accept the culpable passivity of the public powers in those democracies where the social situation of a large number of men and women is far from corresponding to the demands of constitutionally guaranteed individual and social rights."

All quotes from: CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH INSTRUCTION ON CHRISTIAN FREEDOM AND LIBERATION, March 22, 1986, signed by Pope John Paul II

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

1901 "If authority belongs to the order established by God, 'the choice of the political regime and the appointment of rulers are left to the free decision of the citizens'."

1902 "Authority does not derive its moral legitimacy from itself. It must not behave in a despotic manner, but must act for the common good as a "moral force based on freedom and a sense of responsibility"

2235 "Those who exercise authority should do so as a service. 'Whoever would be great among you must be your servant.' The exercise of authority is measured morally in terms of its divine origin, its reasonable nature and its specific object. No one can command or establish what is contrary to the dignity of persons and the natural law."

(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader John Boehner (R.-Ohio) said today that Harry Knox, who serves on President Barack Obama’s faith-based advisory council, appears to be an “anti-Catholic bigot” and should resign as a White House adviser.

Earlier this week, Knox said he stood by a statement he made last year that Pope Benedict XVI is “hurting people in the name of Jesus” because the pope does not support promoting the use of condoms as a means to stem the spread of HIV.
He said it is better to have both and to then debate to what degree of each.

Keep in mind that socialism gave us a world that saw the rise of nationalist leaders in Italy, and Germany, during World War II. Socialism is breaking the back of European nations financially, and the withering away of personal freedom. Congressman Patrick Kennedy, son of the late Senator Edward Kennedy, has been barred from taking communion.

The decision of Bishop Tobin was made after Congressman Kennedy made a very arrogant, public statement in which he declared himself justified to take a pro-abortion stance and still remain a "good Catholic".

To respond to Congressman Kennedy's public statement, Bishop Tobin wrote an opinion article to refute the congressman's claims and correct his faulty belief. Click Here

Contact Bishop Tobin and show your support for his decision:

Call: (401) 278-4600

Email: kdavis@dioceseofprovidence.org

Perhaps other Bishops should follow the example of Bishop Tobin to correct our politicians that make public statements or vote against church teachings.

Fiery sermons of repentance have caused taverns to close down, criminals to confess, and broken families to find restoration.

The Catholic church suffers from a decline in parishioners and priest, and have severe "PR" problems with self-professed Catholic politicians that defy church teachings. The Catholic church even have Catholic colleges and nuns that support abortion, and homosexuality.

Church bishops promote internationalism, utlra-liberal agendas, and look to government to solve social problems. With all the trust that these bishops sow into government, the church in return reaps secular control over the nations faith and religious practice.

Is it time that the Catholic church seek revival? Is it time the Catholic church look to the body of Christ, the church, to perform the social good, and not secular government?

Is it time we return to conservative, orthodox church teaching and expel the liberalism from our church?

Is it time we resist the teachings of socialist, Marxist, internationalist, and liberals in our government?

We as a church need spiritual revival and to then stand united as one voice and one power to perform social good, and protect the rights and freedom of individuals.

Its simple common sense solutions that our political representatives are ignoring so they can confiscate more and more economic, and political control of our country, and its people.

The American Healthcare Solution:

1. Create A Safety Net In The Event Your Unemployed:

If you worked for an employer that provided you with health benefits, and find yourself unemployed; this plan will allow you to receive an unemployment paycheck and payments will also be directed to pay for your COBRA benefits, for a period of 18 months or until your new job provides you with coverage.

By doing this you will have a continuation of coverage, and will not be denied coverage for an illness because you had a lapse of health insurance. If you need an extension or get hired by a new employer that does not provide coverage, then you will be enrolled in new coverage (see item #2 or 3)

2. Universal Coverage With A Statewide Pool:

Every citizen of a state will be eligible to buy into a healthcare plan that is available for the state and municipal workers of that state. The plan will also be available for those who now participate in medicare and Medicaid. Vouchers, subsides, and tax credits will be available for seniors, the poor and those who have moderate income.

3. Free Health Clinics And County Hospitals For The Poor or Those Who Lack Health Insurance:

For those who are extremely poor, for travelers, immigrants, and those who elect not to purchase health coverage, the government will provide funding to operate countywide clinics and hospitals. These health facilities will provide free basic services regardless of your ability to pay.

4. Allow Market reforms:

The government will allow non-profit and business cooperatives to develop insurance buying groups or unique healthcare options. Doctors and hospitals will be permitted to develop prepaid healthcare or membership programs. These plans will be able to directly compete with health insurance companies or seek discounts as they buy health insurance in a large pool.

5. No Abortion --No Death

Healthcare is not funded abortions. Our political leaders now want our tax dollars to pay for the killing of babies. We will also see rationed care and poor treatment of our elderly under government care. We need to keep our healthcare private not public. Our healthcare is not a political issue its a right to private, quality healthcare to sustain life, not kill the innocent.

We need healthcare not big government takeover. Nancy Pelosi, wants to spend my tax dollars, and your tax dollars to abort babies.

Pelosi is pushing a provision in the $825 billion stimulus package that would fund "family planning services". In an interview on ABC with George Stephanopoulos, Pelosi was asked how millions of dollars toward family planning (abortion) services can be considered economic stimulus, and her response was:

"Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those — one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

Pelosi Stimulus Plan: Reduce Babies = Reduced Government Cost

Do you still believe the government when they tell you national healthcare will not fund abortions?

TAKE ACTION:

Nancy Pelosi's bishop needs to take action on her spiritual profession. It's not only imprudent; it's also dangerous."

"If Congress and the White House want to genuinely serve the health-care needs of the American public, they need to slow down, listen to people's concerns more honestly -- and learn what the "common good" really means."

http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=34310&page=2

Bishop R. Walker Nickless, Diocese of Sioux City, Iowa:

"Catholic Church does not teach that “health care” as such, without distinction, is a natural right. We reject the rationing of care."

" the Catholic Church does not teach that government should directly provide health care. Unlike a prudential concern like national defense, for which government monopolization is objectively good – it both limits violence overall and prevents the obvious abuses to which private armies are susceptible – health care should not be subject to federal monopolization."

“I encourage all of you to make your voice heard to our representatives in Congress. Tell them what they need to hear from us: no health care reform is better than the wrong sort of health care reform. Insist that they not permit themselves to be railroaded into the current too-costly and pro-abortion health care proposals. Insist on their support for proposals that respect the life and dignity of every human person, especially the unborn. And above all, pray for them, and for our country. "

http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=34287&page=2

Cardinal Justin Rigali, chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Pro-Life Activities:

"..the committee created a legal fiction, a paper separation between federal funding and abortion: Federal funds will subsidize the public plan, as well as private health plans that include abortion on demand; but anyone who purchases these plans is required to pay a premium out of his or her own pocket (specified in the Act to be at least $1.00 a month) to cover all abortions beyond those eligible for federal funds under the current Hyde amendment.

Thus some will claim that federal taxpayer funds do not support abortion under the Act. But this is an illusion. Funds paid into these plans are fungible, and federal taxpayer funds will subsidize the operating budget and provider networks that expand access to abortions.”

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/52841

http://www.ncregister.com/daily/bishops_fight_abortion_push_in_health-care_reform/

Support and pray for our bishops that are fighting for the protection of life and liberty.

Rachlis, a Canadian physician wrote an article in the Los Angeles Times, titled: "A Canadian doctor diagnoses U.S. healthcare", on August 3, 2009.

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-rachlis3-2009aug03,0,538126.story

In his article Dr. Rachlis, gave his opinion of why America should adopt a single payer, Canadian style, healthcare system. What the doctor failed to do is give the American people the truth.

The truth that the Canadian people are looking to privatize services, and to break free from poor service and long waiting periods, of a government system.

In 2004, Dr. Rachlis, joined with other ultra-liberal physicians to attempt to block the development of private health services, despite the popularity of these services with the Canadian people. See his pledge at: healthcoalition.ca

With his twisting of numbers, statistics, facts, and throwing our Government Accounting Office (GAO), in the mix to back up his claims. The doctor used distorted information to lie about the state of our healthcare in America, such as quoting from the New York-based Commonwealth Fund, a liberal organization that is headed by a former public health official in the Carter administration. Dr. Rachlis, stated the GAO had concerns over American woman having long waiting periods like Canada to get mammograms, when in fact the opposite is true, according to a August 16, 2006, GAO report (GAO-06-724) that stated the following:

"..National mammography capacity appears to be adequate.." Yes, certain rural areas may have longer waiting periods because of a lack of testing facilities, but in general U.S. woman can get testing without long waits like Canada. If there is a lack of testing facilities it's because of the government hoops a facility must jump threw to get certified.

In his "Lesson No. 5 Canadian healthcare delivery problems have nothing to do with our single-payer system and can be fixed by re-engineering for quality".

What he failed to share with America was his ideas that he discussed with his fellow Canadians.

1. Canadian Medical Association Journal, October 15, 1995, Dr. Rachlis stated:

"My article did not suggest that we do not need to RATION HEALTHCARE somehow. Even the wealthiest of societies can not offer everything to everyone."

2. Canadian Centre For Policy Alternatives: Public Solution To Healthcare Wait List:

"Undue waiting is currently medicare (Canadian healthcares) achilles heel".

"Waiting for care are the biggest political issue facing Canadian healthcare"

All the horror stories we have heard about Canadians suffering and reports of death from not getting timely care is true.

Do we want rationed care, and months of waiting to get treatment, when we have the best care in the world?

True, we can make care more accessible to more people and at affordable prices, but first we need to restore free-market solutions and revoke burdensome government regulations. The solution is local access, free-markets, and keep government out of our doctor offices, and our health decisions.

As a Catholic I have a concern for quality health care for all people. However, as an American citizen, I want my government to have limited power and authority, as provided in the words and spirit of the constitution.

Universal Access to Health Care For All, but Who Says The Government Must Do It?

I am of the belief that the American people, organizations, and religious institutions are best suited to administer equal access to health care in their community. Who says that our government who runs sub-standard veteran hospitals, and bankrupt, Medicare, and Medicaid, should be trusted to run a national heath plan?

Why Should We Trust Government With Our Health When No National Health Plan Has Worked?

England and Canada are full of horror stories of abuse and neglect. Rationing of health services and brought many to an early death. Senior citizens and the disabled are denied care, and public money is used for abortion. Government is coercive, oppressive, and expensive, when compared to the care provided by the free-market.

In America we have not seen a true free-market health system in recent years. The government at the federal and state level have imposed restrictions and regulations, that have hampered true free-market forces. Market forces would have reduced cost and offered competitive programs, that would of improved quality.

What Has Congress Proposed In It's Recent Health Care Plan?

SUBTITLE B – SCHOOL‐BASED HEALTH CLINICS
Sec. 2511. School‐based health clinics. Establishes a program to provide support to school‐based health clinics that provide health services to children and adolescents.

---These health clinics in schools are permitted to provide family planning services (abortion services).

Sec. 1904. Grants to States for quality home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children. Provides grants to States to support voluntary, evidence‐based home visitation programs for pregnant women and for families with pre‐school age children in order to improve the well‐being, health and development of children.

---"Evidence based home visitations" this plan would have social workers entering your home to monitor your parenting skills and to re-educate, and coach you to use proper parenting skills. Who says the government skills are proper? The social workers will also need to make periodic visit to monitor your compliance.

Sec. 1714. State eligibility option for family planning services. Allows State Medicaid programs to cover low income women who are not pregnant for family planning services and supplies without obtaining a waiver. Allows State Medicaid programs to cover such services for such women during a presumptive eligibility period. Effective on enactment.

---Family planning is a nice term for "Abortion".

Sec. 1156. Limitation on Medicare exceptions to the prohibition on certain physician referrals made to hospitals. Closes a loophole in the self‐referral rules that allows physicians to refer patients to hospitals in which they have a direct financial interest. Prohibits physician ownership in hospitals that are new as of January 1, 2009.

---So if a group of physicians invested their money to provide a quality hospital or held shares in a hospital he/she would no longer be able to send you to that hospital. What if it's the only one near you, and the next hospital is 100 miles away?

Sec. 1153. Home health payment update for 2010. Provides a freeze in the market basket update for home health agencies for 2010.

--- Watch out America what will follow.

Sec. 1145. Treatment of certain cancer hospitals. Directs the Secretary to study whether existing cancer hospitals that are exempt from the inpatient prospective payment system have costs under the outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) that exceed costs of other hospitals, and to make an appropriate payment adjustment under OPPS based on that analysis.

--- This means the government is about to reduce the fee payments to certain cancer hospitals. What if a cancer hospital pays it's doctors twice as much as another only because the doctor is more qualified? This hospital paying more in salaries will operate with higher expenses, but it's because the patient outcome is better. Who is government to dictate a hospital operating budget?

Sec. 1141. Rental and purchase of power‐driven wheelchairs. Eliminates the option for Medicare to purchase power‐driven wheelchairs with a lump‐sum payment at the time the chair is supplied. Medicare would continue to make the same payments for power‐driven chairs over a 13‐month period. Purchase option for complex rehabilitative power wheelchairs would be maintained.

--- What company that provides these power-wheelchairs is going to accept payment in a 13 monthly installment?

Sec. 441. Health care surcharge on the top 1.2% of earners. The bill would require the top 1.2% of earners –households with adjusted gross income in excess of $350,000 (married filing a joint return) and $280,000 (single) – to contribute towards the cost of providing access to affordable health care for all Americans through a new health care surcharge.

---The average small business owner will be paying additional taxes.

Sec. 421. Credit for small business employee health coverage expenses. Provides for a tax credit equal to 50% of the amount paid by a small employer for employee health coverage. The tax credit is phased out in the case of an employer with 10 to 25 employees, and is also phased out in the case of an employer with average wages of $20,000 to $40,000 per year.

---10-25 employees or if you have a small amount of employees you will not get a credit on health insurance premiums. Another burden on small business.

Sec. 412. Responsibilities of non-electing employers. Establishes a payroll tax of 8% of the wages that an employer pays to its employees for employers who choose not to offer coverage. Certain small employers are exempt from this or are subject to a graduated tax rate. An exempt small business is an employer with an annual payroll that does not exceed $250,000. The 8% payroll tax phases in for employers with annual payroll from $250,000 through $400,000

--- So if you have 10-25 employees and the payroll you pay is over $250,000 per year, you would not get the 50% deduction if you pay for insurance. In addition you would also have to pay a 8% payroll tax if you don't provide the insurance.

Sec. 401. Tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage. Provides for a 2.5% additional tax on the modified adjusted gross income of an individual who does not obtain acceptable health coverage for the individual or dependents claimed on the individual’s tax return.

---In America you no longer have the right to opt-not to buy insurance. You buy it or you pay higher taxes.

Still think this is about health care? The government is not looking to increase the quality or access to care. The government is looking to increase it's control over a huge portion of our economy and can careless about your health.

The sin of government health care is that the people suffer with rationing, poor quality, heavy taxation and lack of freedom. America deserves better than the crumbs that government wants to throw us.

CHECK THESE ALARMING ARTICLES:

http://community2.myfoxatlanta.com/_The-whole-1000-page-Healthcare-Bill-Summary/blog/477074/77914.html

http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2009/07/31/barney-frank-on-the-road-to-socialized-medicine/

http://mcauleysworld.wordpress.com/2009/06/16/video-obama-lies-to-public-again-single-payor-health-care-the-end-of-private-medical-insurance/

When Obama meets the pope tomorrow, they'll politely disagree about reproductive freedoms and homosexuality, but Catholics back home won't care, because they know Obama's on their side. In fact, Obama's agenda is closer to their views than even the pope's."

White House-- Press Secretary Robert Gibbs -- Jul 9, 2009

"The President, in both his words and in his deeds, expresses many things that many Catholics recognize as fundamental to our teaching."

Centuries of church teaching has condemned every action by the Obama administration:

1. Obama is pro-abortion and the church is pro-life.

2. Obama has favored and used socialist tactics to deal with the American economy and the church has always been anti-socialist.

3. Obama puts environmental issues over the rights of people, supports heavy taxation and confiscation of property rights. The Catholic church condemns these tactics.

Obama will never be our guide for spiritual or moral truth. It's an insult to suggest that Obama could ever be the voice for American Catholics, when centuries of church teaching condemns his policy and political beliefs.

The presidents latest move to have a White House celebration for the birthday of the homosexual movement is clear evidence of his bias.

If you can recall back in May of this year Obama cancelled a long standing tradition of hosting a White House National Day of Prayer. However, Obama has invited national leaders of the homosexual movement to join him in the White House East Room to celebrate the birthday of the homosexual movement.

Having a president that values biblical principals is vital to the success of our nation. Having a man in the oval office that has a low regard for those same principals of faith, puts our nation in moral decline.

America look beyond the words and promises of our president and watch his actions which reveal the true man in the oval office.

However, the battle is not over and the fight to take back our Catholic institutions will continue.

This Catholic Citizen Action Alert will show you how you can join the fight, and claim victory for our church, and our country.

1. NOTRE DAME ALUMNI CONFIRM $13.9 MILLION IN WITHHELD DONATIONS

Financial Penalty of Obama Invite Continues to Mount

DEARBORN, MI - (May 13, 2009) – Organizers of ReplaceJenkins.com, the online effort that asks alumni and donors to the University of Notre Dame to withhold donations, announced Wednesday that they have tallied nearly $14 million in withheld donations from alumni and donors who feel disenfranchised by the trend of Notre Dame’s leadership to abandon its Catholic identity. The website ReplaceJenkins.com has received over 1,400 pledges from alumni and donors promising to withhold future donations.

ACTION: If your a contributor or planned to contribute to Notre Dame, then join www.replacejenkins.com

2. “What should the Church do about Notre Dame?” Archbishop Raymond Burke was asked.

His answer:

“What it should do is have Notre Dame come clean. Is it Catholic or isn’t it? A Catholic institution, a Catholic university, cannot give honors to someone who is a promoter of things that are opposed to the most fundamental beliefs of Catholics, and so that’s what needs to happen.”

How can the Church do that?

“There’s an apostolic constitution, Ex Corde Ecclesiae, which sets forth the requirements for a university to have the name Catholic. I think that Notre Dame has to either follow those norms or say ‘We’re not a Catholic university anymore.’”

Archbishop Burke, of course, is the prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, the Vatican’s highest court.

ACTION: Write your local bishop or call their office asking for Ex Corde Ecclesiae to be applied to all Catholic institutions and especially Notre Dame.

He said this in spite of our Christian founding principles, history, and the fact that the overwhelming majority of American citizens have always been and are Christian.

In a speech given in Turkey, President Obama said "Although...we have a large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation, or a Jewish nation, or a Muslim nation. However, the claim by the USA Today article stating that Catholics support Obama giving a speech at Notre Dame, and the results of the poll don't match.

The Quinnipiac poll did not ask Catholics if they supported Obama giving a speech at Notre Dame, but asked the following question:

"As you may know, some Catholics are calling for Notre Dame to rescind its invitation to President Obama to deliver this year's commencement address because they say his stances on abortion rights and embryonic stem cell research contradict church teaching. Do you think the University of Notre Dame should rescind its invitation to President Obama to give this year's commencement address or not? "

The question was focused just on the commencement speech, with no mention of giving the president an honorary degree. The question was not worded to ask if Catholics support Obama giving a speech, but since he is already invited should the president now be told not to come.

It should also be noted that the poll showed among observant Catholic voters who attend religious services about once a week say 49 - 43 percent that Notre Dame should keep President Obama on the program.

A new poll conducted by respected polling firm Rasmussen Reports finds a majority of Catholics and the American public oppose the University of Notre Dame's decision to give an honorary law degree to pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

The Rasmussen Reports telephone survey found that, by a 60-25 percent margin, Catholics say Notre Dame should obey guidelines issued by the U.S. bishops and refrain from awarding an honorary degree to the president. Among all Americans, 52 percent oppose the honor and just 25 percent support it.

When asked whether President Obama should cancel his appearance at Notre Dame because of pro-life opposition, 52% of Americans say no while 30 percent say yes. This shows like the Quinnipiac survey, that Catholics have respect for the office of our president, but not that they support his views.

The real issue is not with our president but with the leadership of our Catholic institutions that support and honor the achievements of someone that opposes Catholic teachings.

Notre Dame Scandal

Bishop Wenski leads Mass of Reparation for Obama invite and Catholic ‘complacency’

“We must always insist that the common good is never served by making wrongs –like abortion- into rights.” The bestowal of the honorary degree is understood by some to indicate approval and thus undermines the work of bishops, Wenski explained.

Bishop Wenski returned to Catholic complacency, saying:

“We have become complacent, because we have become comfortable – too accommodated and too uncritical of the larger culture in which we live. Perhaps, as Catholics, we have become victims of our own success.”

He warned that Catholics have craved respectability and acceptance and risk surrendering their convictions and principles as a precondition to entering public life.

Fr. Pavone: Pray For The Conversion of President Obama

We at Priests for Life are joining with the students of Notre Dame, calling upon believers to offer rosaries for the conversion of President Obama and in reparation for the scandal of him being honored during the Notre Dame commencement ceremony. Go to http://www.prayercampaign.org/ to sign up.

Here is what the Notre Dame students are saying on their website at

www.ndresponse.com

We students will pray the rosary daily for 40 days – from Wednesday of Holy Week (4/8/09) until the day of commencement (5/17/09). We will pray especially for conversion of heart for President Obama, that he might grow to respect life from conception to natural death and that his policies might reflect that (in particular that he will reverse his pro-abortion stance). As a secondary intention, we will pray for the University of Notre Dame, and all Catholic universities, that they might grow in their understanding of what it means to be Catholic and truly embrace their Catholic identity. Finally, we pray that this country, and all countries throughout the world might embrace a greater respect for life in all its stages.

62: Three More Bishops Against Notre Dame Scandal

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (LifeSiteNews.com) - A total of 62 bishops have publicly condemned the Notre Dame scandal, with three more bishops expressing solidarity with Notre Dame's Bishop John D'Arcy and U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) policy against honoring pro-abortion politicians. The University of Notre Dame has invited President Obama to give the commencement address and receive an honorary law degree May 17.

http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=33454&wf=rsscol

Bishop Peña Asks President Not to Come to Notre Dame: Open Letter to Two Presidents - 5/5/2009

"Mr. President, less than 18 months ago, Pope Benedict XVI canceled a speaking engagement at La Sapienza University in Rome, simply because some of the students reacted negatively to the announcement of his coming. Leadership at Notre Dame stated Glendon and Obama would have a debate, or perhaps Obama would learn from the points of argument that would be made by Glendon.

However, Glendon was never made aware that such a debate would take place.

"Then I learned that 'talking points' issued by Notre Dame in response to widespread criticism of its decision included two statements implying that my acceptance speech would somehow balance the event," she said, before going on to note that "commencement, however, is supposed to be a joyous day for the graduates and their families."

"It is not the right place, nor is a brief acceptance speech the right vehicle, for engagement with the very serious problems raised by Notre Dames decision" to honor Mr. Obama, Glendon said.

In her letter, Glendon says Notre Dame’s plan to give Obama an honorary degree violates the U.S. bishops’ 2004 statement that Catholic institutions shouldn’t honor people whose actions conflict with the church’s moral principles.

"That request, which in no way seeks to control or interfere with an institution’s freedom to invite and engage in serious debate with whomever it wishes, seems to me so reasonable that I am at a loss to understand why a Catholic university should disrespect it," wrote Glendon.

Click Here To View Her Impressive Resume.

Ambassador Glendon should of been the one honored by Notre Dame, not President Obama. We felt that the decline of money to Notre Dame would be the only message that Father Jenkins would acknowledge, since he has ignored request from bishops and over 300,000 Catholics.

A new coalition group made up of alumni have taken up this cause and are asking that Father Jenkins be removed from office as President of Notre Dame. They state they love the institution but are not happy with the direction the university has gone under the leadership of Father Jenkins. They state they will not make any donation to the university until someone more loyal to the Catholic church replaces Father Jenkins.

WE SUPPORT THIS COALITION TO BRING NOTRE DAME BACK TO TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC VALUES.
