Happy Halloween!! I had the pleasure of pre-celebrating Halloween yesterday by facilitating a drum circle for "Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands" programing through the Parker Jewish Institute for caregivers and populations navigating Alzheimer's and dementia. We enjoyed some sweet treats and great beats!We even played a drumming zombie game in honor of Halloween! This game was inspired by Rhythm2Recovery where we had one person (me, haha) stand in the center of the drum circle and slowly move like zombie toward other drummers who are playing, lol! The way for drummers to not become zombified was by sharing one interesting unknown fact about themselves with the group. From this interaction we learned that a couple who was drumming with us has been married for 61 years!! We also found out, both of them were born on the same day! Pretty cool!Happy Halloween! Over the weekend I worked with a client who lives in Nassau County, NY. During our Feng Shui consultation she brought up the topic of loud noises that have increased over the years within her neighborhood. She described noises relating to car traffic, airplanes, trains and at times late night neighborhood parties. New Construction with Feng Shui in West Palm Beach, Florida

Over the past two days, I have been in Florida, specifically between Delray Beach and West Palm Beach, to initiate a Feng Shui analysis. The site has an intriguing history as a family owned and operated hotel (est. in 1925) that is currently functioning as a hostel. During the analysis, we observed which part of the current building's facade would be preserved and integrated into the newly designed hotel. Inventory of the hotel’s 1925 original furnishings was also taken into consideration, which will be incorporated into the new hotel once it is constructed. Here are a few photos of the current interior of the hotel. One of the photos showcases an antique mirror that is an original piece and we hope to repurpose it in the new design. In Feng Shui we are very mindful of mirrors, however this one presented energetically neutral feeling (which is great). I believe much of that is due to the manager of the hotel (currently a hostel) who conducts monthly space clearings to keep the energy of the existing three-level building in balance. Additionally, there is an image featuring three king palms, which has been recommended to be preserved and displayed inside in the new hotel. The choice of royal palms was deliberate from the original hotel owners, as they were meant to represent stability, strength, and permanence. One of the king palms was planted outside the hotel to commemorate its opening in 1925. Two more king palms were planted near the owner’s home, symbolizing their children who eventually took over the hotel. One of the very first steps to beginning a Feng Shui analysis is investigating the history of a location.
