Dear Summer,

I love you.  There, I said it.  Now we can stop awkwardly dancing around the issue and embrace it.  Here are 17 reasons why I love you (there are more, but I don’t want to sound obsessed):

1-Yet another excuse to wear dresses

2-Giant sunglasses

3-Bright toenail polish

4-Bright anything

5-Prints!

6-Breezy evenings

7-The idea of escaping

8-Actually escaping

9-Friends coming to visit

10-Rooftops and tiki torches

11-Humidity. It’s like the outside is hugging you. What’s not to like?

12-Naps in the sun

13-Italian ices, snow cones, ice cream, or fudgesicles. Orrrrrr all of the above.

14-Beaches.  Especially Carolina beaches.

15-Flea markets

16-Sidewalk cafes

17-Sweating and not even caring because you are so happy it isn’t winter in New York!

I have an odd liking for birds.  Mainly this is odd because I am in general a bit afraid of them (see million previous post references to pigeon incidences).

But I like the idea of them.

-They can fly.

-They are fuzzy.

-They sound oh-so-happy and seem to have funny little personalities.

-They are all rather fat and have no qualms about it.

Sometimes I feel like my mac and my blackberry are extensions of my body.  Such is the life of anyone with a young, growing company, I am sure. ( Orrrrrr just anyone living in today’s society, really.)  Aspiring fashion designers, take note! Design is maybe 10-15% of what you spend your time doing.  Lucky for me, I find weird satisfaction in the puzzle of the business side most of the time.

Buuuuuuuut….

sometimes you just gotta get out there and get in that sunshine!

I’m very excited to announce a new addition to the Carol Hannah store roster:  Tre Bella Bridal!

Tre Bella is owned by three sisters in Durham, North Carolina.  I spied this special little spot when I visited some friends in the area (on the way up to NYC for the big move, no less!), and it immediately caught my eye.  When my own sister moved to Durham last year to work for Anthropologie (looove!), I looked into the store and realized it was a perfect fit.
