Hello Everybody
Just a bit on the cloudy side today but warm and light sw breeze---=- Now this past week has been awesome for fishing----you name it and it was either caught or jumped off----Offshore while in pursuit of the might dorado , there was good billfish action ---Blue Marlin, White Marlin , Sailfish and Broadbill swordfish have all come into the Mix!
"Bad Habit" hooked up 2 blues unfortunately they came unglued at the last Moment, yesterday he released a sail and had a full rack of dolphin! Saw the Sailfish flag flying on the "Yabba Dabba Doo"
with a fine catch of Dolphin for dinner! I missed who had the White Marlin with you guessed it a catch of Dolphin---Saturday the "Phoebe" Brought in a 125 lb. Broadbill Swordfish, everyone was looking at the SWORD ,didn't see the Dolphin I almost missed them myself! There has been a smattering of Amberjack, Blackfin Tuna and Bonita while trolling in the deep!
The reef action has been excellent also yellow tail snapper, mutton snapper , Amber/Almaco Jacks some Black Grouper ---even some stray ,yup you guessed it again schoolie Dolphin have been caught!
The Post Card Inn Charter Captains have been keep the guests very busy--your turn is next!

Good Morning everybody---weather has calmed down and it is beautiful day on the Post Card Inn Charter Boat Docks!
Sunny Islamorada ---80 degrees --blue bird day!
The fishing report is excellent again---the two biggies are Grouper and the Dolphin---
May first the grouper season opened and there have been a lot of 25-51 pounds caught and filleted !
when the weather permitted and boats ventured offshore they found lot's of schoolies and BIG FISH ALSO--how about fish up to 60 pounds with 30 and 40 pound plus fish have been coming in! The Blackfin Tuna and Large AmberJack are off on the deeper rockpiles!
The Yellow Tail Snappers are still biting well on the reef, along with Muttons and Bonita, Cero Mackerel !
Sailfish are still here in the shallower depths and a White Marlin was caught and released!

Well it has been a tough week here at the Post Card Inn Charter Dock ---The weather was just against us --lot's of wind and some rain --- a few boats did manage to get out with some hearty fishermen--The catches have been fair to excellent --with sailfish , dolphin [mahi] , blackfin Tuna and all the reef fish, snapper and grouper, bonita , cero mackerel, porgies and so forth!
The weather today is improving by the hour and looks like it is going to be a pretty week here!
The Capt. Easy downloaded a bunch of pictures from the past week and I will let you peruse them!
I wish more of our Captains would do the same for your enjoyment!

Good Morning everyone----what a day it was yesterday--Let's start out with the Bill fish!
There were TWO Broadbill Swordfish landed at the dock!
"First Choice" had a nice Sword and the "Early Bird" had a Swordfish about 250 lbs.
Conditions were perfect for the daytime Sword fishing and the results proved it!
Sorry about no pictures those swords are impressive---I also saw a sailfish flag flying so there were spindle beaks in shallower also.
For those who ventured not quite to the sword grounds ,they found some decent catches of dolphin and tuna---it is a bit early for the Mahi but nothing is ever written in stone as to when the fish get here--lets. hope it is an early run of Mahi !
On the reef the yellowtail snappers and mutton are snapping along with an occasional grouper, some kingfish, bonita ,and cero mackerel are mixed in!
Fishing is just getting better and better as the spring goes on!

From Kansas City anglers Randy and Ken took a trip with Captain Jon Reynolds aboard the Drop Back for some awesome fishing, reeling in a rack full of fish, reeling in 1 Bonita, 1 nice size African Pompano ( Seen up top and bottom left ), 2 Mutton Snapper, one being a biggie ( Seen at the bottom ) and their limit of Yellowtail Snapper. Another day in Post Card Inn Paradise--- The fishing Report is still off the hook---sailfish is the norm lately---Big Black Grouper have moved in and even though you can't keep and have to let them go right now---they will test your meddle if you can get one off the bottom and to the boat---OH BOY!
Kingfish, Yellowtail Snapper , Mutton Snapper, Vermillion Snapper[deeper water] Blackfin Tuna, a smattering of dolphin and even a Broadbill Swordfish caught on the Early Bird, have come to the dock this week. Islamorada is on fire with the fish being caught!

On this beautiful day out on the water, angler Janice Drimer from N.C. came down to reel in this nice size Mutton Snapper, caught while aboard the Drop Back with Captain Jon Reynolds. Nice catch Janice !!!

First mate Colman ( Seen on the left ) on the Gold Reserve helps his angler hold up his monster size catch and release Sailfish. Great catch you guy's !!!

On the Drop Back, the first mate shows off his anglers 30 pound catch and release Black Grouper and they also had 2 catch and release Sailfish. Awesome fishing you guy's !!!!

This family came down from Beliugm for some catch and release Shark and came up with a double header of shark, caught while aboard the Drop Back with Captain Jon Reynolds. Nice catch everyone !!!

On the Bad Habit with Captain Duane Dozer, angler Brent Bounce ( Seen top right ) came down with a few friends ( Seen Bottom right ) for some Sailfish, reeling in and releasing these 2 nice size Sailfish. Awesome catch you guys !!!!!

This angler had a great time aboard the Gold Reserve with Captain Hayden and first mate Coleman ( seen far left ) they reeled in and release this beautiful Sailfish. Great catch you guys !!!

On the Gold Reserve this angler pulled in this nice size Kingfish along with a few Mangrove Snapper. Nice catch everyone !!!

Saturday Post Card Inn Charter Fleet Fishing Report

THIS IS IN RED FOR A REASON----MY LAST REPORT SAID THE SAILFISHING WAS OFF THE HOOK---WELL THIS PAST WEEK SAILFISHING WAS SCORCHING ,MADE MY OTHER POST LOOK LIKE A SLOW DAY!
You want to catch a sail-- NOW IS THE TIME--2-5 sailfish per trip per boat --Halfday, fullday it didn't matter , they were there and chewing! Now I am not going to sugar coat it ,it was quite breezy and bumpy but that is what the sails like , they were up in those waves and looking for food!
Can't forget The reef fishing here in Islamorada after some charters got their sailfishing done the spent some time fishing the reef and the catches there were excellent also---yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, kingfish , a few groupers and bonita thrown in also--- I should mention also that there are still dolphin and blackfin tuna being caught while slow trolling !
Post Card Inn Charter Captains have been working their butts off putting smiles on their clients faces!

You can see here Capt. Haden release a sail ,caught dolphin, bonita and patch fished for the Mangrove snapper-- great job !

Post Card Inn Charter fishing fleet action report

Hello to all the angulars out there! Post Card Inn wants you to be advised that the fishing here in Islamorada, Florida is off the HOOK Baby!
The Catches this week by our Charter fishing fleet have been excellent! Sailfish have been the main attraction but we can't play down the limit catches of yellowtail snapper and Kingfish .
Kingfish in the 20 pound class have been caught also---still a surprise are the Dolphin , they have been showing up here and there and when things are just right you catch a rack full---I guess no one has clued them in that it is wintertime here and they should be way south --oh well We will take anyway we can ,right?
In the mix also are Blackfin Tuna , Bonita, groupers, Mutton Snappers so a well rounded out catch is being brought in.
I just have a couple of pictures to post----Please remember any sailfish pictures you see where the angler and mate are holding the fish IT IS RELEASED ALIVE to fight another day --our Captains and Mates go to great pains to make sure the sailfish is revived and healthy when released!
