Traveling to exotic locations or even a town not far from your own is made better by choosing the right type of accommodations. Cancun, Mexico is the jewel of the Yucatan peninsula, and as such, is a popular destination for travelers and vacationers wanting their own slice of paradise. That is why it is imperative to investigate the types of lodging in Cancun that can make your next trip more than just another vacation.

With so many types and sorts of accommodations, it is refreshing to know that getting the type and style of lodging in Cancun you need and want is not a difficult task. You can choose to strike out on your own or hire a professional to aid you in your endeavor. There are benefits to both, but you will find that there is one perfect solution just for you and your needs.

There are many types of lodging in Cancun. Take a look at a few options you may find readily available for you and your needs!

All-inclusive resort spas are a great way to kick back and relax in the lap of luxury. Whether looking for 5-star resorts or just wanting the best in pampering, these resorts are designed to be more than a home away from home. Private maids, private butlers, private chefs, and even your own private chauffeur are just waiting to cater to your every desire.

Hotels and motels will range in price as well as amenities and other benefits just as they would in your hometown. Trying to sort who is best by price is not a guaranteed way to insure the quality of your rental. I have found that, personally, I like reading reviews and suggestions online. The internet is a great tool!

Bed and breakfasts are a glorious way to get the home away from home hospitality many people and families appreciate. B&Bs are a wonderful solution and easy to find when you are looking for the best lodging in Cancun. You will discover that there are even hidden B&Bs that offer amenities that will tantalize the senses and imagination.

Private villas are a popular type of lodging in Cancun. These are similar to renting a home or condo for your stay. Whether staying for a weekend or a month, private villas offer activities and amenities that many people prefer. There is nothing like awakening to your private villa where the Caribbean waters are right out your door.

Condominiums are another favorite type of lodging in Cancun. These are clean, spacious, and geared at offering you the best in price and benefits. Condos are a popular choice because they are often less expensive than many other types of rentals. Of course, you will want to insure you get what you are expecting when you save oodles of your hard earned cash.

There is nothing like finding the best lodging in Cancun for your needs. Whether you need something small or something enormously large, you will find that your every wish can be catered to in the fashion you prefer for you and your family or friends.

Cancun, South East Mexico. A tropical place of beauty, history and relaxation. Located on the Yucatan Peninsular in the state of Quintana Roo, Cancun is very different to the rest of Mexico and is split into two main areas - Zona Hotelera (an 18km long island) and Ciudad Cancun (the mainland.) Both of these areas are connected together with a causeway, making access very easy via taxi, bus or even just walking.

Zona Hotelera faces the Carribean on one side and has a lagoon (the Laguna Nichupte) on the other. Most of the people live on the mainland (Ciudad Cancun) which is also where the hotels and resorts are located. This has meant that the Zona Hotelera hotel is quite free from mass commercialization in many respects. Cancun also offers some of the best diving and snorkeling spots in the world, which includes the fifth largest coral reef in the world (The Belize Reef) that has black coral (coral lovers will know that black coral is quite rare.)

There are also plenty of water sports for the person who enjoys a vacation with a bit more action. The selection of excellent resort hotels, classy restaurants, local pubs and bars and a large night-life with clubs makes for a great holiday spot for all kinds of people. Shoppers will enjoy the shopping facilities (five large shopping centers, or street shopping.) For those who want to relax a little more, Cancun’s lagoons, sandbars, mangrove swamps, cenotes (waterholes) and beautiful beaches are what you would be looking for.

But you could probably get a lot of the above (besides the coral reefs etc.) at most other places in the world. One of the things that sets Cancun apart are the Maya sites and ruins nearby. These ruins are fascinating in every respect - full of mystery and history. Coba nearby boasts of the largest pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula, and the ancient sites of Uxmal, Ruta Puuc and Merida are highly recommended. All of the ancient sites are very well kept, and will pique even the interest of those that don’t enjoy history.

Cancun is also a great place for a vacation in the sense that it can cater very well for all kinds of budgets. Although the mainland has many top class hotels, there are also smaller resorts or places where you can stay if you are on a cheaper budget. Transport is easy in and around the city as well, and there are many tourism operations offering you transport to the ancient sites or several islands which lie offshore nearby.

The only drawback to Cancun, as with a lot of popular tourist destinations, is that if you’re the kind of person who wants serious quiet and relaxation, Cancun can be quite busy with its ‘party’ sort of atmosphere. But if you’re looking for a place where there is lots to do, see and enjoy, Cancun will be a very good choice.

Barcelo’s Cancun Mexico All Inclusive resorts offer diverse opportunities to fulfill your dream vacation, providing the ultimate in relaxation and excitement to suit any traveler. Whether you are searching for the fun of an all-day beach party or the peace of an isolated, tranquil island, Cancun offers a multi-faceted vacation destination. Featuring world-class activities, clubs and malls where all tastes are welcomed and catered to in this paradise; it is no wonder Cancun is Mexico’s most popular vacation destination.

Sun-worshipers spend Spring Break holidays in Cancun lounging on endless white sand beaches. Partiers dance the night away in pulsing discos at lively Cancun hotels. This is how most visitors picture Cancun. However, it would be just as accurate to associate Cancun with archaeological ruins and ancient civilizations. History comes to life as you learn tales of the strange and powerful god, Kukulcan, whose snake- headed visage graces the pyramid bearing its name at the legendary Chichen Itza. Marvel at the massive walled city of Tulum which had, as one theory goes, the world’s first lighthouses, designed to guide home residents who regularly set to sea in canoes. Select one of our affordable Cancun, Mexico all inclusive vacation packages to experience relaxing moments of peace combined with thrills of excitement in one vacation destination.

Cancun Hotel Reviews

Cancun is a coastal area with white sand beaches and popularly known as the Mayan Gold Coast. Cancun is a Mexican city located in the state of Quintana Roo. Encircled by Caribbean Sea, Isla Mujeras and the Bojorquez lagoons, the city carries the reputation of the famous tourist destination and modern beachfront hotels. Climate in Cancun is warm throughout the year but with some strange and startling facts were you can see the sunshine on one side and rainfall on other side. You can experience showers and rainbow throughout the year.

The city progressed rapidly with many investors taking interest in hotel industry. The hotels in Cancun are the result of the investment of international companies. Nightlife in Cancun is simply marvelous with a number of nightclubs. We still find Cuban and salsa type restaurants and bars, which present the breathtaking dance performances keeping you glued to such places and enliven the energy in you and provoke you to tap your feet with their dance numbers. People throng discos for partying, people enjoying sunbath on the stupendous white sand beaches of the city. There are many water sports that you can enjoy with your entire family on the beaches. You can find water racing attractive or surfing more adventurous or underwater diving with your kids more interesting or paragliding intoxicating. Do whatever, the options of having fun are unlimited here in Cancun.

This city is young, as are most of its permanent and temporary inhabitants. Way back Cancun was just a small sand barrier when the plan began to develop it into the vacation haven of all times. Today, Cancun stands as a medium-sized coastal city and a long, thin island connected to the mainland through bridges at its north and south ends. It is a home to world-class resorts, hotels, clubs, and malls. With the changing nature of this place it offers something for everyone, from an all-day fun party beach to an isolated, tranquil island. Whatever your mood and liking is you find suitable places of solitude here in Cancun.

With around four million visitors every year Cancun has gone through many changes. One of the major change is evident in the 140 hotels which stand tall in this once small city. Hotels are a major business in Cancun and find many big investors and players participating in this venture. The hotels in Cancun are located in the Hotel Zone which is shaped like a backwards 7 with bridges on each end connecting to the mainland. This hotel zone offers a broad range of accommodation facilities, ranging from relatively inexpensive motel-style facilities in the older section closest to the mainland, to high-priced luxury hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton in the popular areas. Many of the hotels are time-share condominiums with kitchen facilities. Some all inclusive hotels where all meals, drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic, hotel activities, entertainment, non motorized water sports, tips and taxes are included in the price of the hotel rooms. With these cheap accommodations you can also find upscale private residences and lavish condominiums for rent that cater to the rich and famous. It is seen that the restaurants, bars and shops in the hotel zone tend to be rather expensive compared with the downtown area and other Mexican resorts. Here travelers will find many recognized theme restaurants and clubs.

As the number of championship caliber courses in the Cancun area continues to grow, golf will undoubtedly become one of Cancun’s most popular activities. With a number of courses already conveniently located in The Hotel Zone - adjacent to all of Cancun’s other activities - a great round of golf is easy to add to your Cancun itinerary. Most of the courses you will encounter were designed with the environment and natural landscape in mind by some of the world’s finest golf course architects. For the more committed golfing traveler, several excellent courses are located throughout the Riviera Maya, just south of Cancun. Regardless of where you decide to play, you will be treated to some excellent scenery and an unforgettable round of golf.

Located in the heart of the Hotel Zone, the Cancun Golf Club at Pok ta Pok is one of the oldest and most renowned courses in the area. Constructed in 1976 by Robert Trent Jones Jr., this Cancun golf treasure makes excellent use of the picturesque shoreline and scattered Mayan ruins. Though the course has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, this par 72 offers an enjoyable experience to golfers of all skill levels. The site also features top-notch practice facilities and a restaurant with panoramic views of Cancun and the Caribbean Sea. Also in the Hotel Zone, the Hilton Cancun Beach and Golf Resort, an 18-hole championship course amongst abundant wildlife and Mayan ruins, is highlighted by the “island tee” on the majestic 7th hole.

Jack Nicklaus’ signature Cancun golf course is located at The Moon Spa and Golf Club. Composed of three distinct 9-hole courses - Jungle, Lakes and Dunes - The Moon Spa and Golf Club is a shining example of the ecological conservation employed in Cancun golf course construction. In addition to the exotic vegetation and animal life surrounding the course, players will be treated to incredible views of the Riviera Maya. Like a few other courses in the area, The Moon Spa and Golf Club features all-inclusive service with complimentary food and drinks, as well as transportation from your Cancun resort.

Located 45 minutes south of Cancun is Greg Norman’s excellent contribution to Cancun golf, El Camaleon Mayakoba. True to its name, the course features an incredibly distinctive layout amongst a fluctuating landscape of jungles, mangrove, subterranean caves, pristine lagoons and stretches of Caribbean sand. Many players have also been impressed by El Camaleon’s GPS-equipped golf carts that not only measure your shots, but also allow you to record your scores electronically and order refreshments.

Also south of Cancun is a pair of courses perfect for adventurous golfers, Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club and Playacar Golf Club. Designed by P.B. Dye, Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club features narrow fairways and deep sand traps cut from the vibrant Mayan jungle. The Playacar Golf Club, designed by Robert von Hagge, is surrounded by a number of lakes, while several holes hug the Caribbean shoreline.

The first golf course on the island of Cozumel, just southeast of Cancun - the Cozumel Country Club - is also one of the most challenging courses ever designed by Jack Nicklaus. Carved from the Mayan jungles and limestone bluffs at the northwestern tip of the island, the course took five years to be constructed. However, the course was designed with the environment in mind, receiving a certification in Environmental Planning from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System.

Given this growing popularity of golf in Cancun, it is no surprise that several more tournament quality courses are scheduled to open in the near future. The Puerto Cancun Golf Course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, is currently being constructed between The Hotel Zone and downtown Cancun. Though Puerto Cancun won’t be completed until late 2008, the course will add another championship caliber challenge within close reach of Cancun’s premier resorts. Scheduled to open in late 2007, The Tournament Players Course (TPC) of Cancun has potential to be one of the finest courses in all of Mexico. Designed by Tom Fazio, one of today’s most celebrated golf course architects, The TPC of Cancun will feature 36 sprawling holes and plenty of unique challenges. Also under construction is much anticipated La Roca Country Club, designed by PGA Tour legend Nick Price.

Cancun is a breathtaking city that is located in Mexico. Here you will find a relaxed life and great hotels for you to stay in. There are a lot of things that you can do while you are in Cancun. Your tastes may lead you to staying in the city and sampling the delights to be found there. Or you might want to arrange to go on some of the fantastic Cancun tours. These tours can be arranged to suit your tastes.

While you are in your hotel you should inquire from the hotel desk about the different Cancun tours that you can go on. These tours can be simply sightseeing around the city, so you get a chance to find the various places to see and what do while you are in Cancun.

You can also arrange for half day Cancun tours for some of the cultural sights mixed in with a visit with nature. For instance you can visit Tulum and Xel-Ha. The cultural visit to Tulum will let you see the only walled Mayan city. In addition you can see the worlds only natural aquarium in Xel-Ha. You can also arrange a visit to Chichen Itza which is the largest and most impressive Mayan ruins.

Some of the other tours include the jungle tour, the atv tours and Joe’s jeep adventure. Then there is also the swimming with dolphins and of course deep sea fishing.

No matter what your taste might be Cancun is filled with tours. If you are interested in tours while in Cancun, I highly recommend you get online a buy a package. You will save a ton of money and will be more motivated to complete the tours, after all you will have paid for them already.

You can arrange for night Cancun tours where you will float on the lagoon having splendid meals and listening to live music. For instance if you want there is a cruise called a Lobster Dinner. These are just a few of the many Cancun tours that you can go on while you are in Cancun. With all of these tours you can see if your hotel will be able to arrange a guide for you.

Now while you are here in Cancun the best way to enjoy all of these Cancun tours is to arrange to go do them one at time. This way you won’t miss a single ruin or jungle tour that you can cram into your already crowded tour list. So the next day providing that Mother Nature cooperates with you, it is time to see as many of the cultural Cancun tours that you have been dying to see.

Take as many pictures as you can, buy lots of souvenirs and be curious, find out all sorts of obscure facts. This way when you go back home you can impress your friends with all of your knowledge about Cancun tours and the fun that you had.

If you have your heart set on taking a Caribbean vacation, consider Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The fine, white sand beaches and bright turquoise waters are a sight to be seen, and the resorts offer variety unlike any other destination. Spend your days lying on the beach, participating in an abundance of water sports, taking in Mayan history at one of the many archeological sites, or snorkeling and scuba diving in one of the world’s largest living reefs.

Over 150 unique resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya line the Caribbean coastline and provide the opportunity to enjoy a great vacation at a great value. It can be overwhelming to make a resort selection whether it’s your first visit to the Yucatan or you’ve been there many times before. There are many sites out there that have forums and advice from travelers who have visited this area firsthand. We recommend taking a look at these. After you have narrowed down your options to a few resorts, you can visit Deal2Cancun.com to book the best Cancun deals from your favorite resorts.

One factor for selecting a resort is based on the type of vacation you will be taking. For example, a couple on their honeymoon may opt for an “adults-only” resort, while a family with young children would most likely want a resort geared towards families. Other resort categories include spa and luxury. Each type of resort is set up to create an atmosphere and cater amenities for that certain type of vacation. Many resorts in the Mexican Caribbean are All-Inclusive, meaning the cost of your stay at the resort generally includes all meals, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), tips and non-motorized sports. All-Inclusive vacations make for the best deals to Cancun, but not all resorts offer these packages, and amenities offered with an All-Inclusive can vary by resort. Many are rated on a 1-5 scale, differentiating in service, food quality and number of activities offered. Our Cancun travel specialists have stayed at a wide variety of these resorts and can help you determine which resort can best fit your needs. To ensure that you won’t be disappointed with your vacation experience, we highly recommend staying at a resort that has a rating of 3.5 or higher. Resorts on the Yucatan’s Caribbean coast are largely divided between two areas: Cancun and Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen. Each offers high quality resorts, but with vastly different surroundings. Below is an overview of each area to determine which is best suited for you. Cancun Cancun is a bustling, modern city. High-rise hotels stand side-by-side along the beaches, and jet skis buzz across the sparkling aqua water. Staying at resorts directly in Cancun (or along the “7″, Cancun’s hotel district) is great for vacationers who want to explore outside of the resort, try different restaurants, walk to shops and experience the vibrant nightlife at nearby clubs. There are countless activities to try both day and night, and it’s impossible not to pick up on the air of excitement.

Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen

Just south of Cancun is the beautiful Riviera Maya and the town of Playa del Carmen. This area is a remote oasis away from the active city. Rising no more than three stories high, most resorts along the lush Riviera Maya are All-Inclusive with a wider variety of restaurants and bars than their Cancun counterparts. This area is better for travelers who prefer to stay right at the resort for dining and nightlife during the majority of their stay, yet most resorts in Riviera Maya are only a short distance from Playa Del Carmen, a quaint, yet modern city with excellent shopping and restaurants. The pristine beaches offer opportunities for relaxing or trying various water sports. You will also find more historical parks and ancient ruins in the Riviera Maya. Below is a list of our popular resorts in the Cancun and Riviera Maya region, based on preference:

Family Resorts

Grand Palladium Resorts (Riviera Maya) Barcelo Maya (Riviera Maya) Iberostar Resorts (Riviera Maya) Sandos Playacar (Riviera Maya) Gran Bahia Principe (Riviera Maya) Great Parnassus (Cancun)

Adults-Only Resorts

El Dorado Royale (Riviera Maya) El Dorado Maroma (Riviera Maya) Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun (Playa Del Carmen) Secrets Maroma Beach (Playa Del Carmen) Excellence Playa Mujeres (Isla Mujeres) Le Blanc Spa Resort (Cancun)

Spa Resorts
