Participating in cancer walks can be a great way to fight cancer and support those who are dealing with the challenges of cancer. Cancer affects all of us, either directly or indirectly.

If you don’t believe cancer affects you, consider these statistics. According to the American Cancer Society, more than 1.4 million new cases of diagnosed cancer will occur this year alone. In 2004, there were approximately 10.8 million people who had a history of cancer. Last year the cost of cancer was estimated to be over $200 Billion dollars! Cancer does affect all of us.

Cancer walks don’t only raise funds for worthy charities that battle cancer every day. They also help create an awareness and can even be used to recruit volunteers and advocates for the cause.

The purpose of each cancer walk is different. The money raised may go to a nonprofit organization that deals with many forms of cancer or one specific form. Decide where your passion is and get involved in a cancer walk that aligns with your passion.

Relay for Life (American Cancer Society)
Breast Cancer 3-Day (Susan G. Komen for the Cure)
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (Avon Foundation)
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (American Cancer Society)
Lung Cancer Walk (LUNGevity Foundation)

Search out a cancer walk in your area and get involved. You can play a part in wiping out the disease and supporting those who deal with cancer until it is only a memory.

Got Vape at Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

In a continuing effort to provide Vaporizer Health Awareness, Got Vape attended the 26th annual Susan G. Komen charity cancer walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Sunday March 15th, 2009.

The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Everyone was very anxious to begin spreading our health awareness movement because this charity walk is the first non-profit event that we have attended.

Once we pulled up at the event, our promo team was greeted by race participants and volunteers who had not heard about vaporization before.

We handed them our, Vaporization Health Brochures, stickers, and Got Vape Lanyards to provide more information about the positive health benefits associated with our vaporizers.

The Susan G. Komen charity Cancer walk is the most popular Breast Cancer awareness event in the entire nation.

I feel like there is positive effort on the behalf of the entire community, not just those directly affected by breast cancer, to collectively find a cure for this horrible disease, said Loraine Rosenthal, Co-Founder of the Cancer Control Society.

The Got Vape promo team was able to network our health products to everyone in attendance.

We also visited with companies like Fuze Beverages, Yoplait Yogurt, New Balance, Chapstick, and Hallmark to chat about their reasons for sponsoring this charity event.

The overall theme for sponsorship support stems from the fact that Breast Cancer is the number one cause of pre-mature death amongst women; therefore each company wants to contribute to finding a cure for this disease.

At 1pm, the charity walk finished up. We passed out more health education materials to participants as they left the.

We understand that our vaporizers are used as a tool in the treatment of cancer, thus we have added another educational program to help fight this disease.

Stay tuned for future upcoming non-profit events that Got Vape will be participating in.

Our goal at Got Vape is to sponsor top-tier events that leave great memories for all. This is only the beginning!

which breast cancer walk should I participate in?

Ok so I wanted to do either the avon 2 day walk in June or the susan B. Komen 3 day walk in August…I know they both go toward the same cause. I wanted to do it cause a lot of family members die from or had cancer, not breast cancer but its still cancer. My only concerns are the june is closer so I wouldn’t have a lot of time to get a lil more in shape so the walk doesn’t kill me…lol. But Augusts one is double the miles even though its further away. And I’m not completely sure of the differences between the walks either besides different days and different miles. So any advise and thoughts would help me with my decision.

I’m posting in this section cause I thought I would get the most advise.
The susan one is the longer one

I would do the Susan one myself. Less time to walk but no matter what they are both a good cause.
