Teleconferencing and video conference save medium and large companies a ton of money over travel, and you can replace a full time, $50,000 per year income, with less than 10 good accounts. (There are companies out there using 100,000+ conference calling minutes per month….)

The reason that telecoms will be is such a good position to make bank on the new rules is because the new “guidelines will allow them to operate as a pre-paid payment instrument as well. Considering the reach of the telcos, in urban, rural and semi-urban areas, their entry will increase the penetration of the services among the masses. Further, these telecom operators already have a large network of agents, who are selling pre-paid recharge coupon to the end customer. As per industry estimate every service provider has around 50,000 such agents. Telcos could use these existing agents for m-commerce as well.”

I spent over $5,000.00, back in the days when I had it, to build a search engine that would take any phone product and let any agent build a search tool for their site. And, have the search tool list everything they sold, no matter who the master agent was.

In other words, if you wanted to build a search tool that compared all the VoIP calling plans you sell for Commission Junction, Commission River, Linkshare.com, or affiliate programs run by the companies themselves, on your website, you could just go to Lowertel.com, check a box next to all the services you wanted to compare, enter your affiliate code for each link, and you’d be done. Then you could put the code on your site and compare every VoIP plan, no matter who it was from. Check out the one I just stuffed onto the top of Internet-Phone.org for the purpose of this post.

It used to be easy to use, but I added so many different companies, and so many variations of the same company, that it’s kind of a pain now. But, I make 100% of my income online, and most of it is due to the fact that I can take the same traffic as another agent and make 25% to 50% more sales because I can offer every plan on one “Phone Rate Calculator”.

And no, I’m not being altruistic, the search tool has a Google Ad bar on the bottom, so I end up getting paid a little if people leave your search tool through an ad…

Can someone who’s an affiliate of Voiceral, and who’s gotten paid, wander by and give us a screenshot of your reporting page and tell us if they pay on time etc…? My Voiceral back office never had anything on it, so I’m interested in seeing if it actually works or not.

The quickest way to get started is to build a set of business cards from Vistaprint.com, or just get blanks at Staples, and put your name on on them. You also need to put your telephone number, email address and make sure it says you are a Telecom Broker or Telecom Agent. (I like putting broker, because I work for a whole bunch of different phone companies, and that means I’m the boss, not a flunky.)

Then go online and figure out which phone services are the cheapest where you live. Then you just need to go to the page in your back office that has forms, and print out the order forms and/or LOA’s for the products and services that are the cheapest in your town.

Now go start talking to small business owners about doing a phone bill audit for them. Show them how you can save them money and they will love you for it. Once you get good with small business guys, start working your way up into bigger companies, and you are on your way to making a living selling telecom.

Just remember, it’s not very hard, because everyone hates their phone company, and everyone loves to save money.

The main difference between WireFly and LetsTalk, on an agent level, is that LetsTalk has a commission on shipped sales, while WireFly pays your choice of a lower commission on orders placed, even if they don’t end up shipping, or a higher commission on shipped sales. So, webmasters can choose which one to sell based on the demographics of their site’s traffic. Either way, webmasters should be able to take some of the initial sales away from the major cell phone carriers by selling these 2 companies, since they both offer way better phones, for way less money, than what you can usually get in the carriers own stores.

As a matter of fact, here is a prime example of the types of emails I get, and the telephone calls I used to get:

I had a suspicous phone call today and would like you to put a flag on my long distance and let me know if anything out of the ordinary happens.

Ummm, OK? Sure! I’ll get right on that. Ummm, maybe you should put your foil hat back on till I get back to you….

So, how do I answer this email? Do I ignore it? If I do, and something “suspicous” happens, then am I liable? How am I supposed to know who this person is? Do I want to email them back and ask? (The answer to that question is actually “HELL NO”, by the way, just in case you’ve never made that mistake before.)

I’m not really going to milk this like I could. I just wanted the newbe agents out there to see what they’re getting into… LOL
