This recipe begin as an experiment. 



Having found fresh black cherry juice at the market, I began to search for

recipes including it as an ingredient. I found very few.  

But the taste of the juice was so good, I just had to try to use it in a recipe,

 especially with Valentine's Day on the calendar!

How to Make a Gumpaste Teacup









The process for making a gumpaste teacup is a simple one. Howevee, it does take some time; so if you need a teacup for a cake tomorrow, you may want to rethink your design. The gumpaste will be very fragile until completely dry, so allow yourself several days to complete the cup.

Sparkling Summer Sugar Cookies 

Ingredients



Butter Cookie Dough



1 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 tsp salt ( omit if using salted butter)

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

2-3 drops orange oil 

2 cups+2 Tblsp all purpose flour

1/3 cup finely ground pecans or almonds

One of my favorite tasks is to make birthday cakes for my great-nephews.

One of the biggest challenges I had when I started working with fondant was how to get a deep red, blue or black.  I usually ended up with a big sticky mess, finally deciding to go to the cake supply store and buy the premade colored fondant.   Using a large amount of gel can change the consistency of your fondant.

Easter Egg Marshmallow Pies 










This Easter, I wanted to put something special into my grandchildren's Easter baskets.


I tried to think of something that they might like to eat, yet different than a sugar cookie.

Then remembering my favorite Moon Pie treats as a child,

One use is to support your tiered cake.First make sure your tiers are very level.

I am SO ready for spring. I know there are a few weeks left of winter. But even if there is snow on the ground and very few flowers to be seen, I can at least create a few of my own, can't I?

Flowers on a cake can create wonderful dimension.

Ready for Valentine's Day?
Here is a simple Jam-filled Butter cookie that is easy to make. They look beautiful and taste delicious!
Sweetheart Cookies
Ingredients
Butter Cookie Dough

The holidays were especially busy and exciting this year! 








 My parents, Jack and Betty Savage, celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Many people these days wonder how a marriage can last for 60 years. If you knew my parents, then you would know how. They were just meant for each other.
