225: Role of central Bank in Iranian economy

تغییرات شدید اخیر بهای سکه وارز در بازار ایران ابراز نظرات گوناگون در مورد عدم ایفای نقش بموقع بانک مرکزی را به دنبال داشته است. شرایط پیش آمده بهانه ایست جهت مرور وظایف این بانک و اینکه تا چه اندازه در برآورده نمودن آن موفق بوده است. بدین منظور، نخست نگاهی سریع به تاریخچه شکل گیری بانک های مرکزی و وظایف آنها انداخته و سپس به تاریخچه تشکیل این بانک در ایران پرداخته میشود. همچنین با برشمردن وظایف پیش بینی شده و نحوه اداره آن، تلاش خواهد شد با توجه به تئوریهای پولی و مالی وزمینه های اجرای آن تحلیلی از چگونگی تاثیر گذاری آن بر اقتصاد کشور ارائه گردد.

وحید نمازی متولد تهران است. در آخرین سال نظام قدیم تحصیلی با گذراندن امتحان متفرقه از کلاس چهارم دبستان به کلاس هفتم میرود. در سن 16 سالگی به دانشگاه رفته و پس از انقلاب فرهنگی در رشته علوم اقتصادی لیسانس خود را از دانشگاه علامه طباطبائی و فوق لیسانسش را از دانشگاه تهران اخذ مینماید. فعالیتهای کاریش با حسابداری و کارشناسی درمرکز آمار، تدریس تئوریهای پولی و مالی در دانشگاههای آزاد، ملی یا شهید بهشتی و افسری، و کارشناسی و مشاوره اقتصادی در دولت زمان جنگ و اوایل پس از آن همراه بوده است. در کانادا، ضمن مطالعه جامعه شناسی دردانشگاه لاوال، در سال 2011 موفق به اخذ دکتری در رشته علوم انسانی کاربردی از دانشگاه مونترال میگردد. پایان نامه وی در زمینه مشکلات اقتصادی دستیابی به کارمهاجرین ایرانی در کانادا نگاشته شده.

Scholars of the built environment and architectural historians have been increasingly turning to other fields of study, such as cultural anthropology, environmental studies, environmental history and cultural landscape studies, in order to introduce a more invigorating conception of architecture, attentive to the material and cultural <evidence> of societies' interactions with environment, and making architecture more inclusive of cultural, social, economic, and political ideas, ideals and values of society by its contextualization in cultural landscape.

UNESCO defines cultural landscape as: "Cultural landscapes represent the combined works of nature and of man. They are illustrative of the evolution of human society and settlement over time, under the influence of physical constraints and/or opportunities presented by the natural environment and of successive social, economic and cultural forces, both external and internal" NCC also states that: "Cultural landscapes are geographical terrains which exhibit characteristics or which represent the values of a society as a result of human interaction with the environment" The information and the messages embedded in the landscape are traces of values, beliefs, socio-political relations and practices of its occupants over time.

In this presentation, I will place Mont Royal within the context of its immediate environment and community, as a cultural landscape, in order to understand world views of its successive occupants in time. As an emblematic site, Mont Royal has continuously played, and continues to play, a prominent economic, cultural, political and social role in Montreal, from the time of its appropriation by the aboriginal nations, to the arrival of the Europeans, right up to the contemporary era. Based on the historic significance of the impact of Mont Royal on the inception and development of the city in 2005 it was classified as a National Natural and Historic Sector. Its dual or combined status, natural and historic underlines the importance of this territory, as well as its ongoing integration and its dependency on the conservation of its context and its diverse compositional elements as a Cultural landscape.

این پنجشنبه، پنجمین سالی‌ خواهد بود که کافه لیت در این شهر مشغول به فعالیت است. این پنج سال برای ما مملو بود از تجربیات جدید، دوستان خوب و آموخته‌های تازه. فکر کردیم خوب است که آغاز ششمین سال فعالیت مصادف شود با انرژی تازه و دوستان جدید در تیم کافه لیت. پس تصمیم گرفتیم که از همهٔ شما دعوت کنیم تا اگر مایل به کمک و همکاری با ما هستید، به جمع ما بپیوندید، نظر دهید و در گرداندن کافه لیت سهیم شوید.
این پنجشنبه دور هم جمع خواهیم شد تا گپی‌ دوستانه بزنیم، دوستان تازه پیدا کنیم و تیمی تازه برای هماهنگی‌ جلسات انتخاب کنیم.

زندگی و طی طریق رولان بارت (۱۹۱۵-۱۹۸۰ ) وابسته به تفکر نقادانه خاصی است، فشرده و متنوع و عمیقا اثر گذار بر دوره خود و متقابلا بهره یابی از آن. این نشانه شناس و نویسنده، افکار بیقرارش بیش گونگی اثرهای نقادی و نظری را ضمن تطبیق و تفسیر درمینوردد (مارکس، فروید، سوسور، لوی - اشتراس و ......) . بارت ضمن اینکه همواره به تکامل حوزه مطالعاتی اولیه خود پایبند بود ولی از پیگیری غلبه بر استیلای گویشی نهادینه شده باز نایستاد. رولان بارت از طریق آثار خود مقولات تاریخ ، ادبیات، تبلیغات، عکاسی، نقاشی، تاتر و ... را به منظور عریان نمودن ساختار و معانی آنها به چالش می گرفت.

به یاری برخورداری از رفتاری، در درجه اول عالمانه، مشتاق، خوشایند و درخشنده، با برگزیدن "موضوع " به عنوان محور هر نوع کوشش در جهت خواندن و درک یک اثر، موفق به دگرگونی کامل نقد ادبی و هنری گردید. "موضوع " مورد نظر بارت همواره در سه عرصه، یکی تفکر، دیگری تجسم و سومی احساس، تبیین میشود و آنها را تنها عوامل موثر در تضمین کیفیت و تاثیر واقعی "موضوع " میداند.

This is a five-part talk series based on the documentary entitled "The Human Ape" which will focus on the topics of problem solving, communication, planning and cooperation, amongst other topics. The overarching goal of the series is to provide a systematic overview of specific cognitive capacities which have enabled humans to achieve tremendous feats throughout their recorded history. More importantly, we will discover how a much older history of human development, that is its evolutionary history, may have contributed significantly to the emergence of human culture and technological achievements. A final goal of the series is to appreciate unique characteristics which set modern humans apart from their evolutionary relatives. These talks will be presented in English and there will be ample opportunity for friendly and structured discussions.

How does Shayegan philosophical view compare to other contemporary Middle Eastern and Iranian strategies of reform in tackling these questions? دکتر علی‌ دیزبنی، استاد دانشگاه کالج سلطنتی نظامی کانادا، دکترای خود را در رشتهٔ علوم سیاسی از دانشگاه مونترال با درجه ممتاز دریافت کرده است. وی در زمینه‌های مطالعهٔ مقایسه ای‌‌‌ سیاست، کانادا در جهان، خاور میانه، امنیت انسانیها، دمکراتیزاسیون، روابط بین‌الملل و ... در دانشگا‌های مونترال، کبک، کویین و شربروک به پژوهش و تدریس می‌پردازد. از وی مقالات متعددی به چاپ رسیده. وی علاوه بر پژوهش و تدریس در دانشگاه، در مسائل مختلف به عنوان مشاور با وزارت خارجه کانادا همکاری دارد.

چهارم اکتبر، دکتر دیزبنی میهمان کافه لیت هستند و در جلسه شان به بررسی‌ کتاب داریوش شایگان، نویسنده، فیلسوف و روشنفکر ایرانی‌، «نگاه شکسته» می‌پردازد. این کتاب که در سال ۱۹۸۹ به فرانسه نوشته شده است، به شیزوفرنی فرهنگی کشورهای سنتی در مواجهه با مدرنیتی پرداخته است.

Women's political representation, or women in political decision-making positions, is a topic that is increasingly gaining worldwide attention and emphasis. This talk will present the main arguments surrounding women's political representation, including a historical analysis of women's demands throughout history and today. This talk will ask why it is important to have female politicians, what are the reasons for women's global under-representation, and what are women's demands and how are they strategizing to increase their access to political leadership positions?

After a general discussion of the main debates concerning female politicians, I will present women's endeavors to access positions of authority in post-revolutionary Iran as a case study. This analysis will shed light onto cultural and religious hindrances that women face, their strategies for increasing women's political representation, as well as responses of male politicians in contemporary times.

بیژن مفید از زمرهٔ نوابغ هنر و فرهنگ ایران است که با آنکه ردپای کارهایش در فرهنگ امروز ایران بسیار پر رنگ است، ولی‌ خود کمتر شناخته شده است. از او تا به حال تعداد ۹ نمایشنامه انتشار یافته ولی آثاری از نوشته‌های او به روی صحنه آمده، و بیش از ۱۵۰ نمایشنامه رادیویی و تلویزیونی توسط او ترجمه و کارگردانی شده‌است. شهر قصه معروفترین اثر بیژن مفید است*. «بیژن مفید» خود در مقدمه این نمایشنامه می‌نویسد: «شهر قصه در اصل از یک روایت عامیانه گرفته شده، منتهی من به این روایت شکلی تمثیلی داده‌ام. من در این نمایشنامه کوشیدم تا نظمی را که خاص زبان این قبیل روایت‌های عامیانه‌است در گفت و گوی آدم‌های این نمایش حفظ شود. «شهر قصه» حکایت دردناک آدمی است که نادانی‌ها، خرافات و سنت‌ها و نظام‌های تحمیل شده‌ای زندگی‌ش را محدود کرده‌اند.» .اجرای اصلی‌ شهرقصه در سال ۱۳۴۷ توسط هنرمندانی در ذهن نسلهای پی‌ در پی‌ جاودانه شد که لازم است نام و یادشان را در این جا ذکر کنیم.

بالاخره پس چند ماه تمرین، تعدادی از برو بچه‌های کافه لیت، جهت بزرگداشت یاد بیژن مفید، اقدام به بازخوانی نمایش شهرقصه کرده اند. این کار ادای دینی است از سوی کودکان دیروز، جهت زنده نگاه داشتن یاد این نابغه هنرمند که سالهای کودکیمان در جنگ را پر کرده بود با صدای شهر قصه ش. هنرمندی که امروز زبان مشترک همهٔ ما شده، چندین دهه پس از اجرایش و هزاران کیلومتر آن سوی مرزهای سرزمینمان. باشد که خاطرهی شود برای نسلهی بعدی و بعدی...

One longstanding question from the ancient times is the true nature of space and time. New progress in frontiers of theoretical physics has made it possible to re-ask these questions in the modern time .

What is space and/or time? What are they made of? Is space a primary concept or a derived entity originating from more fundamental "stuff"? How does space look if one looks at it with a very.. very.. very.. powerful "microscope"? Will it look fixed or seems foamy and uncertain?

Modern physics wants us to combine uncertainty of the quantum mechanical world with the certainty of the classical everyday reality.

The combination is deadly: the quantum theory of space-time...Everything looks good, except that such theory does not quite make sense..or at least it seems so.

In this talk we will go on a journey into the heart of space and time and the quantum theory to see where humankind stands in her quest in formulating the observed universe.

214: Messianic Islam: Origins, History and Fundamentals

We have heard about Mahdi's, the twelfth Shia' Imam, accounts. According to Shia's, he went into occultation (Ghayba) after his father (Hasan Askari) death. Shia's believe that one day he will return and then fill the Earth with peace and justice.

Besides the official Shia' view, what do modern historical studies of early Islamic sources tell us about Mahdi beliefs?

In this Cafelite session we are going to review contemporary scholarly views on origins of messianic ideas in Islam. We will see how these ideas have been shaped during the first four centuries of Islam, the history of Kaysniya and Muhammad Hanafiya as the first Shi'a messianic Imam. Other Shia Imams who considered as Mahdi such as Abdullah Ibn Muawiya, Jafar Sadiq, Musa Kazim, ....

We review the history of final formation of Shia' doctrine and development of beliefs to Twelfth Imam as the Occulted Imam. We are going to compare the official Shia' view and modern historical studies. Finally, we are going to talk briefly about views of other Islamic sects such as Sunnites and Ismaili Shia's on Mahdi.

Many artists and critics believe that modern movements in painting, such as Cubism and Abstraction, appeared mainly because of Cézanne's search for the "underlying structure of the composition". Studying Cézanne's works, Pablo Picasso called Cézanne his "one and only master". We will talk about Cézanne's life and works, his relationship with the Impressionists, and the formal elements in his paintings this week.

is an internationally acclaimed Iranian film director, screenwriter, photographer and film producer. An active filmmaker since 1970, Kiarostami has been involved in over forty films, including shorts and documentaries. Kiarostami has received worldwide acclaim for his work from both audiences and critics, and, in 1999, he was unequivocally voted the most important film director of the 1990s by two international critics' polls. Four of his films were placed in the top six of Cinematheque Ontario's Best of the '90s poll. He has gained recognition from film theorists, critics, as well as peers such as Jean-Luc Godard, Nanni Moretti (who made a short film about opening one of Kiarostami's films in his theater in Rome), Chris Marker, Ray Carney, and Akira Kurosawa, who said of Kiarostami's films: "Words cannot describe my feelings about them ... When Satyajit Ray passed on, I was very depressed. But after seeing Kiarostami's films, I thanked God for giving us just the right person to take his place." Critically acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese have commented that "Kiarostami represents the highest level of artistry in the cinema." In 2006, The Guardian's panel of critics ranked Kiarostami as the best contemporary non-American film director. He is known for his characteristic use of techniques and themes that are instantly recognizable in his films.What are these characteristics that make him as one of the best directors in the world? We will talk about this issue this week.

نتايج نظرسنجی کافه

بالاخره پس از گذشت دو ماه از آغاز نظرسنجی حوالی شصت نفر به زور ضرب و کتک فرم‌های نظرسنجی را پر کردند. مسؤولین کافه پس از ارسال مجروحان به بیمارستان به بررسی تحلیلی نتایج پرداختند و دست به کشف‌های تاریخ‌سازی زدند. در کمال تعجب علی‌رغم اینکه در جلسات کافه لیت 37% شرکت‌کنندگان از جامعه بانوان هستند در نظر سنجی 46% فرم‌ها توسط بانوان پر شده بود که نشان از وظیفه‌شناسی بیشتر بانوان از آقایان است. معلوم شد 62% اهالی کافه لیت بین هجده تا چهل و پنج بهار دیده‌اند. در نظرسنجی در مورد تغییر روز و ساعت برنامه مختصر 81% گفتند همینی که هست خوب است، بعد شما بفرمایید ملت محافظه‌کار. در ضمن در کمال تأسف و تأثر خاطرنشان می‌شویم در جهل جلسه اخیر کافه فقط دو نفر از ارئه دهندگان از جامعه بانوان بوده‌اند. اگر نظری برای حل این معضل دارید ما را همه از نظرتان بهره‌مند فرمایید، بالاخص شما بانوی گرامی.

کافه ليت پاريس

جمعه ششم نوامبر کافه لیت پاریس آغاز به کار کرد. جناب دکتر مهدی کشتکار که یکی از پایه‌گذاران کافه لیت است چندی قبل برای کار و زندگی و این طور قرتی‌بازی‌ها به پاریس نقل مکان فرمود و اکنون کافه لیت پاریس را آغاز کرده است. جلسه اولشان توسط رفیق شفیق که معروف همگان است، حضرت فرخ وهاب‌زاده برگزار شده است که در باب موسیقی‌شناسی محلی بوده. جلسات دیگری نیز توسط دنا متوالیان در مورد مد و طراحی، علی عطار در مورد اثر غرب بر آسیا و گلناز کرباسچی در مورد معماری سوئد برگزار شده یا خواهد شد.

هالووين

متاسفانه در جلسه حاضرین لباس هالووین به تن کم داشتیم. بردیا سعدی‌نژاد که با سر وضع «مرد نامرئی» در مورد سینمای ترس صحبت می‌کرد و احسان دانشیار که جلاد شده بود و یکی دو نفر دیگر با تغییرات جزئی تنها جدی گیرندگان فراخوان هالووین بودند. عکسهای این واقعه را می‌توانید در گالری سایت ببینید.

صد و پنجاه ساله شديم

طبق محاسبات نسبتاً دقیق سازمان آمار کشوری شعبه کافه‌ایت، جلسه این هفته مورخ دهم دسامبر دو هزار و نه میلادی در حقیقت جلسه‌ی صد و پنجاهم کافه‌لیت بوده و محض تنوع این تدام غرورآفرین را به خودمان و شما تبریک می‌گوییم. شما فرض کنید شمع هم فوت کرده‌ایم.

بچه‌های کافه ليت

کافه سینما در حال اتمام قسمت اول برنامه‌اش، سینمای ایران است. کافه فیلو مرتب پیش می‌رود هر چند به کندی. بوک‌کلاب چندان موفق نبود و پی کسی هستیم که اداره‌اش کند. کافه تئاتر دوباره فعال خواهد شد و اولین برنامه‌اش «در انتظار گودو» خواهد بود. ما دنبال دو پسر برای کامل شدن کادر هنرپیشگان هستیم.

احتمالاً به زودی کافه موزیک و کافه خاطره آغاز خواهند شد. طبعاً اگر به هر نحوی اهل موسیقی هستید با ما تماس بگیرید. برای اطلاعات بیشتر باید صبر کنید. طبعاً ایده‌های جدید همیشه در کافه مورد استقبال قرار می‌گیرند.

در ضمن اگر به ای نحو کان به شعر و شاعری علاقمند یا مربوط هستید خبر بدهید، چون قصد داریم هر از گاهی شب شعر بگذاریم که اشعارتان را بخوانید و به بحث بگذارید.

برنده مسابقه محبوبيت

از آن‌جا که ما تصمیم داشتیم خودمان را با آمار خفه کنیم با توجه به رای گیری در سایت، محبوب‌ترین جلسات کافه عبارتند از: (1) شکسپیر و شاهکارش هملت (2) نازیسم (3) انقلاب فرانسه. جالب توجه اینجاست که هر سه این جلسات توسط دکتر شهداد حیدری ارائه شدند. بدین وسیله از ایشان به صورت رسمی تشکر کرده، ادامه جلسات ایشان را خواستاریم.

مدرسه کافه ليت

در نتیجه این نظرسنجی (که این خبرنامه هر چه دارد از آن است) تصمیم گرفتیم یک سری کلاس برگزار کنیم. این کلاس‌ها در زمینه‌های مختلفی خواهند بود که زمینه‌هایشان فعلاً محرمانه است. اگر مایل هستید با کافه در این زمینه همکاری کنید و تدریس کنید با ما تماس بگیرید. از پیشنهاد کلاس‌های عجیب و غریب مانند آبیاری گیاهان دریایی بسیار استقبال می‌شود.

لوگو: عوض شدن يا نشدن؟ مسأله اين است!

چند و چندین ماه است که در جلسات کافه لیت جنگ و جدل بر سر تعویض یا تثبیت لوگوی کافه در جریان است. گزارشگر ارسالی ما از بن‌بست مذاکرات به علت زوج بودن حضار و نصف نصف بودن آرا خبر می‌دهد. اگر در مورد این قضیه نظری دارید مراتب به مقامات کافه اطلاع دهید.

بحث‌های آزاد کافه‌ای

به زودی یک سری جلسات بحث آزاد در کافه خواهیم داشت. قرار است کافه موضوعی برای جلسه انتخاب کند و پس از یک مقدمه ده دقیقه‌ای بحث آزاد دربگیرد. طبعاً ورود آلات قتاله مانند پنجه بوکس ممنوع است.

گذشته از این شاید جلسات پانل هم داشته باشیم که توسط گروهی که مدتی روی موضوعی کار کرده‌اند طی یکی دو جلسه کافه ارایه شود. چطور است؟

تن‌تن در کافه

در ماه فوریه دو جلسه ویژه در مورد تن‌تن خواهیم داشت. دکتر شهداد حیدری که گذشته از دندان‌پزشک‌ بودن به خاطر سخنرانی‌های تاریخی‌اش در کافه مشهور عام و خاص است دو سخنرانی بسیار جدی در مورد تن‌تن خواهد داشت. از آنجا این جلسات فراتر از تعریف قصه خواهند بود و هدف بررسی عمیق تن‌تن است پیشنهاد می‌شود چند داستانی از تن‌تن قبل از جلسات بخوانید. کتاب‌های تن‌تن را می‌توانید از وب‌سایت کافه دانلود کنید یا دی‌وی‌دی آنها را در جلسات کافه ابتیاع کنید. این جلسات به زبان فرانسه در ماه فوریه هم برگزار خواهند شد.

جهانی شدن

در جشن تولد دوسالگی کافه ما قول دادیم وارد جامعه کانادایی شویم و جلساتی به زبان انگلیسی و فرانسه برگزار کنیم. شما که غریبه نیستید، چندان موفق نشدیم و هنوز در پی کسی هستیم که برای برگزاری جلسات بین‌المللی‌تر کمک‌مان کند. اگر آن آدم هستید حتماً خبرمان کنید.

آرشيو تصويری کافه

اگر پول به حد کافی جمع کنیم، تصمیم داریم یک دوربین ابتیاع کنیم که بعضی از جلسات کافه را ضبط کرده و بعد برای استفاده جهانیان در اینترنت به اشتراک بگذاریم. چیزی مانند سایت وزین TED ولی در ابعاد کوچکتر البته.

سوتی ايميلی

مدتی قبل ما یک سوتی دادیم و یکی از ایمیل‌های کافه را به صورت آدرس-باز فرستادیم و در نتیجه آدرس ایمیل‌های کافه نشینان به دست‌های نااهل افتاد. بدین وسیله بابت این خطای سهوی عذر می‌خواهیم و حتی اگر لازم می‌دانید حاضر به اعدام عاملین هستیم.

از سویی از آنجا که اینترنت رسانه‌ای نو برای برخی از افراد است، ایشان از اصول اخلاقی حاکم بر اینترنت بی‌خبر هستند. درنتیجه گروهی از این نااهلان فرصت‌طلب از فرصت استفاده کرده با دزدیدن آدرس ای‌میل کافه‌نشینان، بدون کسب اجازه از آنان، اقدام به ارسال اخبار سایت و مؤسسه خود کرده‌اند. اگر از این ایمیل‌های ناخواسته می‌گیرد و حدس می‌زنید دلیل آن همین مسأله باشد، آن ایمیل‌ها را برای ما بفرستید تا ما بعد از تحقیق از مسؤولین سایت مربوطه بخواهیم نام شما را از لیست بردارند. ما قصد داریم در مورد این اخلاق اینترنتی به زودی مقاله‌ای در مجله هفته چاپ کنیم.

دومين مسابقه عکاسی،اولين مسابقه فيلم

پس از برگزاری موفق‌آمیز و غرورآفرین و دشمن‌خفه‌کن اولین مسابقه عکاسی ما به زودی دور دوم مسابقات را آغاز خواهیم کرد. این بار مسابقه بین‌المللی خواهد بود و در حال برقراری ارتباطات با دیگر کشورها هستیم. اگر ارتباطات بین‌المللی در حد و حدود سفیر دارید خبرمان کنید. اگر هم خواستید اسپانسر برنامه باشید حتماً خبرمان کنید و ما خودمان پی‌گیرتان می‌شویم چون پول شوخی ندارد.

CaféLitt released the survey results

Finally after about 2 months, 60 persons have participated in our survey. We sent survey several times to encourage the CaféLitters to contribute in survey. The results were analyzed and are shown in pie format graphs. Interestingly 46% women and 54% men were participating in our survey. While only 37% of our participants are women. In average 62% of CaféLitters are between 18-45 years old. Concerning time and place for CaféLitt sessions, the majority of participants vote for the same time and day and for a Café (81%) in Downtown. Unfortunately there are only 2 women who present in CaféLitt during last 40 sessions! Anybody can help us with a logic reason? Come on ladies!

CaféLitt Paris

Last Friday 6th Nov. 2009, CaféLitt-Paris began to work. Dr. Mehdi Keshtkar, one of the founders of CaféLitt, who has gone to Paris for his professional life, started another CaféLitt in Paris. Their first session was held by our friend, Farrokh Vahabzadeh who talked about Ethnomusicology. On 13th Nov. Sara Habibi (Lawyer) talked about Global Financial Crisis. Their future programs will be: November 20; "Fashion and mode design" by "Dena Motevalian", "Ethics" by Ali Attar, "West influence upon Asia", "Sweden Adventures" by "Golnaz Karbaschie", "National Identity" by "Mehran".

Halloween

Unfortunately in our Halloween session there were not many costumed participants! Beside Bardia Sadinejad who presents the Horror movie, wearing "MARD NAMRYEE" and Ehsan Daneshyar with a "JALLAD" costume and few people with mask and small changes, most of the other participants were Normal ;-) !You can find its photo in our gallery!

Moreover, we want to have some Panel sessions that prepared with a group that is working on a subject. Do you have any idea? What about a group, a subject and 1-2 sessions of CaféLitt?

Tintin in CaféLitt

We will have a special session on Tintin on January. Dr. Heydari who is well known not only as a good dentist but also for his awesome talks in CaféLitt will give a serious talk about Tintin. Since this will be deep analysis of Tintin and not a story telling, please try to read some of Tintin albums before our session! This session will be held in French too on February.

Globalization

Last year, in our 2nd anniversary, we promise to enter the Canadian society and try to have more English or French sessions. Honestly, we are not successful yet. We are still looking for someone who can help us to arrange more international sessions. Please write your email if you can help us about this!

CaféLitt new children

CaféCinema will finish its first part (or program): Iranian Cinema. CaféPhilo works well and continue slowly but strongly. BookClub was not successfull and needs someone to take care of that. CaféTheatre is not active and will have session on "Waiting for Godot" by Becket soon. We are looking for two Boys to complete our "cast"!

Soon we will have a CaféMusique and CaféMemory. More information will be announced soon. All idea about any Café is welcome!

By the way, if you are a Poet, please contact us ASAP. We plan to have a poesy night every now and then in which you can read you own poems and talk about them.

If we have enough money, we will buy a camera to record some of the sessions and make an archive from these films for everyone all around the world! Something like a TED, in smaller scale!

But unfortunately because internet is a new device for some people have no idea about the Ethics of internet. Since the title of the competition is "Montreal, Summer and...," I tried to select an image which embodied the idea of summer. In this photo, the languid placement of the hand, the rather long grass, the predominance of green and blue, and the setting in a public space seemed to suggest a certain lightness of being, warm afternoons or early evenings when people gather in a park to enjoy temperate weather. The placement of the hand creates another dimension; it gently holds a group of people in the background, a delicate gesture creating a picture within a picture, often referred to as mis-en-abîme. It also underscores communal activity which can take place in a park.
