St Chad’s Catholic High School

The Team

About the team

Amy - Amy has naturally falen in to the role of interviewer and has a flare for entertainments and current affairs issues. She will be covering stories such as the labelling of young people and the wearing of makeup in school.

Rebecca - Rebecca was elected editor in the first news day and has taken to the role well. Rebecca is confident in front of the camera and has coordinated the projects taking place throughout the whole class involoved. She has been researching and working on stories such as the comparison of school dinners and the affect of social networking on young people.

Lauren - Lauren has been involoved in many aspects of the project and has done an excellent job of broadcasting the news on the practice days. She has a nautralness about her in front of the camera and when interviewing. She has been involoved in the creation and recording of numerous stories both at the CLC and at school such as the basketball building project.

Liam - Liam stepped up on the first day to braodcast the news on the practice day and formed an excellent partnership with Lauren. He has fallen into the role of editor and has spent a huge amount of time editing the footage from all of the stories. He has also done some time filming of other stories. He has also done some filming of other stories when he wanted a break from the camera!

Callum - Although Callum is a natural in front of the camera he prefers to take the role of camera man and has done much of the filming as well as a few interviews when he has been forced to! He has also worked well alongside Liam and has edited the footage ready to broadcast on March 13th.

Dalton - Dalton has been involoved in writing scripts and supporting the rest of the team in their interviews. He has been involoved with the fundrasing story for the buiding project in South Africa and has filmed footage of a basketball match against the teachers to raise awareness about the project.

About the team

The news team consists of 5 members of an original team of 15 year 9 pupils - Nathan, Beth, James, Laura and Dale.

All of them have worked very hard on producing 3 reports for the School Report Day - The Slave Trade in Liverpool, UK Youth Parliament elections and, most importantly, the effect of Building Schools for the future on Fairfield High School, which is now facing closure. All the pupils feel passionately about this and this definitely comes over in their report.

Nathan and Dale have worked on the BSF report and Beth and Nathan are going to be presenting. Their live report is on the murder of Sophie Lancaster which Laura is presenting and James and Dale have worked hard on today.

The Grange has a well balanced and friendly team of reporters who are inquisitive and hard working:

Hannah - Provides a lot of knowledge and quite contemplation whilst problem solving.

Nathaniel - The quite technical genius of the group who understands the complexity of the software.

Alex - Gather s equipment and hunts information like a shark of the education world.

Samantha -The perfectionist of the group; ensuring all work is of an incredibly high standard.

Kelsey - Will definitely be on the tele at some point!
