Many people think of remote controlled cars as toys for kids. However, there is a huge difference between remote control cars for kids and remote control cars for adults. The complexities of the cars have a very wide gap. Kids cars will run on just a few AA batteries. RC cars for adults feature full miniature engines. Lots of the popular motor kits run on fuel such as gasoline or nitro. Others run on large battery packs that are essentially beefed up versions of kids toys. These cars require just as much maintenance as a real car, since they have all of the same components (plus all of the radio transmitting gear!) to deal with.

When building a remote controlled car, you will have many different choices regarding the quality of the components that you use to make it. You can stick with some simple hobby store components, but those are not likely to make a car that will win any races. If you want to go all-out on a project, you can get top quality parts. You should be prepared to spend some money to get what it takes, but once you have it all together you will have a car that you can truly be proud of. If you want to assemble this type of amazing car, you will need to look for several things in particular when buying components. These will help you get the maximum performance for your money.

The fastest engine choice that you can find is a nitro engine. Nitromethane is an alternative to regular gasoline, and runs much better for RC cars. It is usually heavier, and therefore more cumbersome on the handling of the car. However, if you are going to be on a fairly straightforward and tame race course, it is a great choice and will provide a huge speed. The only down side is that nitro engines are known for wearing down faster, and breaking at a higher rate. If you use a nitro engine frequently, you can almost expect it to break after intense usage. It is a good idea to have an electric engine that you can swap it out with when the need arises.

The other parts of the car are equally important when you are aiming for absolute fastness. If you are you going all-out on a project, you should expect to spend quite a bit on components like wheels and axels. Usually you want to get wheels that are extremely firm and light. If you have the opportunity to go out to a hobby store and test out a few different components, you will be able to decide exactly what you want based on experiencing it first-hand. This is the best way to shop for anything, and the same goes for remote control cars. Since the parts are usually highly swappable, you can directly compare one with another by trying them in quick succession.

If you aren’t a very technically inclined person, the thought of picking all of these parts might not sound very fun. However, you might not have to go through this process. It is possible to buy kits that include all top of the line parts, and are quite easy to assemble. With these you won’t get the high level of customization that you would get out of building a regular home-made car. Being able to choose all of the parts separately is a great benefit, although 90% of the time you can replace individual parts if you decide that you want to go for something that is of a higher quality or a little bit faster than what you had before.

All of these things really add up. If you have one part of a car that doesn’t perform as well, the entire thing will be affected. Therefore you need to choose your parts carefully to have the best remote controlled car possible.

The Star Wars Lego Set 8039, Anakin’s Y-Wing Starfighter is a model of the vehicle featured in the Clone Wars television series, episode Shadow of Malevolence where Anakin leads the Y Wings in a daring raid on General Greivous’ ship Malevolence. The Y-Wings were also featured in the original trilogy movies, acting as bombing ships in the Battle Of Endor.

The Lego set is representative of the Clone wars period as it comes with minifigures of Anakin Skywalker, his Padawan Ahsoka Tano and astromech droid R2-D2. The set comes with 570 pieces and the vehicle measures 17 inches (43.2cm) long by 7 inches (17.8cm) wide, making it quite a large vehicle. All the minifigures can be placed inside the vehicle, Anakin in the cockpit, Ahsoka in a central gunning turret and R2-D2 in the back. It is heavier and larger than would first appear in the pictures and is sturdy enough for fast paced play.

There are a number of playable features on the ship. The turret guns move up and down but do not rotate, the cockpit opens as does a storage area in the back and by pressing a button in R2-D2’s alcove missiles fire out from the front of the ship (there are no flick fire missiles on this model). There are only two stickers in the set which is a boon for Lego fans and the price per piece count is quite reasonable compared to other sets released in this wave.

It is surprisingly large and sturdier than the previous Y-Wing releases (7150 and 7658) due to the fact that it has solid, filled-in engine boosters rather than the hollow design featured in earlier models. It is a highly recommended set for ardent fans and younger builders will enjoy its high swooshability factor.

The Star Wars Lego set 7749 Echo Base, released in 2009, recreates the famous battle of Hoth as depicted in Star Wars Episode Five, The Empire Strikes Back. The ice planet was the scene for a dramatic confrontation between Imperial and rebel forces and included the memorable AT-AT attack. The 7749 set is an exclusive 10th Anniversary set, meaning it can be purchased from Lego Shop At Home online or through select

This small set, containing 155 pieces, is meant as an all encompassing battle back with figures from both sides as well as a trench, missile-firing defence turret and for the first time ever, a tauntaun. The tauntaun is famous for smelling bad on the inside as well as the outside and it’s nice that Lego thought not to include this particular play feature in the model.

All the minifigures are well done, and the set comes with two snow troopers, two Hoth rebel troopers and a Han Solo in snow suit gear, similar to the figure from the 2nd Millennium Falcon (4504) released in 2004. The highlight of the set and the reason why this set will no doubt sell well is the first appearance of the tauntaun. It is a wonderful design and like most Lego versions of film characters, manages to be screen accurate and cute at the same time. A figure can ride in the saddle though the legs cannot be moved.

The actual playset segment of the set is fairly sparse. A simple ice trench is fairly small but effective in design with a very powerful figure-flinging battle action mechanism. It also has, what appear to be new 2X4 right angle flat pieces on the base of the trench which may attract ardent Lego builders. The defence turret comes with flick fire missiles, a seat for a trooper at the top and an internal storage area for a Hoth rebel trooper to fit inside.

Overall a small set with alot going for it and although slightly overpriced at $24.99 it has is highly playable and contains some attractive new pieces.

. They are actually collectible items and serious enthusiasts spend a significant amount of money buying and accessorizing such playthings. Over the years, hobby shops from all over the world have experienced a tremendous increase in sales as a result of the growing popularity of RC vehicles. If you are planning to join other hobbyists in this fun and exciting form of recreation, you first need to learn how to choose the right remote controlled vehicle for you. Here are some important tips.

First off, you need to know the size or scale of the remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks that you want to focus on. The scale actually represents the size or proportion of the RC vehicle in relation to real life boat, airplanes, cars, or trucks. For instance a 1:24 scale model of an RC fighter plane would mean that it is 24 times smaller than the actual plane that it represents. The size or scale of your RC vehicle is important because it can affect fuel consumption or battery life. The bigger scale models would naturally consume more fuel or have a shorter battery life than smaller ones.

Next, you need to determine the type of fuel or power source for your remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks. Many RC vehicles use ordinary AA batteries, but these models are usually the ones that are given to kids as toys. Meanwhile, enthusiasts or hobbyists Remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks are some of the most popular items of interest for hobbyists. In this day and age, RC vehicles are more than just toys typically go for models that run on rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries. This type of batteries can supply anywhere from 4.8 to 9.6 volts of electrical power. Still, there are RC vehicles that use petrol much like their real life counterparts. Make sure to check out the box or label to see what type of power source is needed for your RC vehicle.

Finally, remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks run on different types of engines. Much like the variable types of fuel or power source, there are also different types of propulsion for each RC model. There are RC vehicles that are powered by electrical engines, while there are those that use motors that consume petroleum-based fuel. But more and more hobbyists now choose remote control models that are powered by nitro engines.

I have been collecting sports cards and memorabilia for over twenty five years now, and I have seen the face of the hobby change dramatically over the years. I began just buying packs and hoping for the best, then progressed to attending memorabilia shops and card shows to get the rarer cards and pieces. Once the internet came around that was when the hobby really took off. Then eBay was introduced to the world, and it seemed as though any card or piece of memorabilia you could imagine was at your fingertips without even having to leave your house. Just when I thought it could not get any better, I was proved wrong once again.

While searching the internet for a couple cards I was looking for, I came across a website that intrigued me. The site is called www.sportZoid.com. It is a penny auction website specializing in sports trading cards and sports memorabilia. At first I was confused, then curious. I had not heard of a “penny auction” before running across this website, so I did a little research. It turns out that penny auctions put a very interesting twist on the normal auction site. Instead of placing a bid and then paying the final price, you buy your bids first and each time you place a bid, the auction price only goes up by one penny, hence the name penny auction.

SportZoid.com has yet to launch, but plans to sometime in late March 2010. This will be a fantastic opportunity for card/memorabilia collectors all over the world to get those rare cards for unbelievably low prices. They will specialize in game used cards, autographed cards, and autographed memorabilia. There are dozens of penny auction sites on the web, but only sportZoid offers sports cards and memorabilia.

Another interesting twist that sportZoid has put on the penny auction site is that no one walks away from the site empty handed. They have a “points store” set up, which enables you to redeem the points you have earned to get other great collectible items. You earn points by placing bids, so in essence the bids that you purchase are worth twice as much.

I am highly anticipating the launch of this site so that soon my ever growing collection of cards will continue to get bigger, and on a much cheaper budget! Stay tuned for more updates on sportZoid.com.
