We are pleased to announce we are expecting our fourth daughter, Seraphina Marie Buie, in early March 2014. Hadassah, Miriam, & Lydia are anxious for our newest little one to make her appearance and we're all excited to see how this new addition with change family dynamics. There is already much love awaiting her.

We're expecting Buie baby number three! Our due date is 16 April 2012 and we will be finding out if we're having a boy or a girl 10 January 2012.

Miriam Grace Buie

Miriam Grace Buie entered the world on Saturday, 29 May 2010 at 5:07 AM. She weighed 10 lbs. 3 ozs. and was 23 in. long.

Originally we were scheduled to be induced Friday night, however, due to all the rooms being booked at the hospital (full moon!) we had to postpone her induction until early the next morning. When Jill woke up with her first contraction at 2:00 AM, however, Miriam made it clear that she didn't want to wait any longer. For some reason (unknown to me) Jill did not wake me up until shortly after 4:15 AM and we left for the hospital shortly before 4:30 AM.

Once we arrived to the hospital, we pulled up to the front door and walked towards the hospital to discover that St. Mary's had recently moved the emergency entrance. At this point, Jill's contractions were more forceful and closer together, though her water had not broken. Thankfully, after a few minutes, a security guard pulled up and let us through the front door where a nurse was waiting with a wheelchair. Once we were inside the hospital it was 4:52 AM. After another few minutes we were given a room and Jill went into the restroom to change into her gown. In the process, however, a hard contraction came, her water broke, and she immediately felt the urge to push. The nurse and I carried her to the delivery bed and at 4:59 AM Miriam Grace was born.

Since this experience was so different than our last birth, I felt like sharing a bit of the story. God, in his providence, protected us in a number of ways and all praise goes to him. Jill was a real trooper. A ten pound baby in seven minutes of pushing seems amazing to me. And Miriam is such a good baby. She learned to nurse right away and hardly cries. Believe it, or not, she cries even less than Hadassah did. Hadassah is in awe of the baby. When she visited at the hospital she kept pointing to her and saying, "Aww, baby."

Hope y'all enjoyed the story. I'm sure Jill will write a much better (and more detailed) account of the birth shortly.

If we may draw your attention to our family's photo website for one moment, our family would like to make a special announcement.... that's right, the pictures don't lie, we are currently expecting the birth of our second child. Jill's due date is 13 May 2010; prayers for mother and baby are much appreciated.

Last week, 7/5-7/11, Kmart was having their double coupon event. So...I figured I would let you all know how I did! When all is said and done, I saved over 90% - and on diapers!!

The two $14 On-Your-Next-Order coupons I received for buying $50+ worth of participating products. One coupon for each transaction. I had some items I was going to buy anyway (their 18-gallon totes for $3.99 & some clearance toys) so I look at it as though the $14 savings went toward the items I purchased to get the coupon, and the other items I bought at simply sale price.

My goal is to pay .10/diaper or less. I bought 4 packages of Huggies Supremes and 2 packages of Huggies Snug & Dry. Since Hadassah's currently in size 4, that means 27 diapers come in the Supremes and 31 in the Snug & Dry. All total, I purchased 170 diapers.

$8.94 ÷ 170 = .05/diaper
Or if you prefer pre-tax totals:
$4.82 ÷ 170 = .03/diaper

Walgreen's EasySaver Deals

Today was the first of two days where the Walgreen’s EasySaver Rebates for the months of September & October overlap! In the couponing world, it’s called “double-dipping.” Here’s what I was able to purchase:

6 large (25+oz.) Garnier Fructis shampoo & conditioner
8 Pert Plus 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner
3 Glade Scented Oil Candles
1 Crest Pro-Health toothpaste
1 Walgreen’s Acid Control tablets, 25 ct.
1 Walgreen’s replacement water filter
1 Revlon nail polish
6 Lindt dark chocolate bars

I was able to really maximize my savings on the Pert Plus. Regularly $3.79, they were on a price drop to $3.49. I had $2/1 manufacturer’s coupons, and in the October EasySaver Booklet, there were also store coupons for $2.50/1. Since you can use both coupons together, I was able to get $4.50 off each bottle at the register, giving me roughly $8 in overage ($1/bottle).

Bryan loves dark chocolate, so I was excited to read on Hot Coupon World that Lindt dark chocolate, regularly $2.29, was on sale this week for $1.50. After using the $1/1 coupon in the October EasySaver Booklet, they only cost $0.50; which made a great item to apply the Pert Plus overage towards.

I won’t bore you with all the other details, but here are the stats:
