A friend once asked me, "why do you bother to spend time making stuffs for others?" Well, I don't see it as a waste of time (or materials) at all. Every sewing project is a great chance for me to practise my sewing skill, don't you think so? :-)

Hand sewn embroidery at the front and back of the bag.

The bag can be expanded by unfastening the snap buttons by the sides.

It also comes with a crocheted latch, and an inner pocket for cards or mobile phone.

A Bag for Myself

I had been working on this bag for the past few days. The pattern was taken from March issue of Cotton Time, and when I first saw the picture in the magazine, I fell in love with the bag instantly! The layered lace trimmings look so pretty!

It is small but roomy enough to fit a wallet, a mobile phone and keys.

Can't wait to use it when I'm back in Singapore!

Made a corsage for a Esprit denim bag that I've been using for quite some time.

This is how the bag looks like originally. It came with two sets of straps (the other set is red), and a key chain.

Finally made a pin cushion (7.5cm X 7.5cm) for myself. No more searching high and low for the pins or needles that I absentmindedly stuck on sofa.

I have no intention of abandoning this blog yet, just in case you're wondering why I've not blogged for so long. It is proven that working on crafts and watching a 40-episode HK drama at the same time is not productive at all. Most of the time, I found myself glued to the TV rather than focusing on the unfinished work in front of me. :-P

Toys for Friends

My friend, WN gave birth to a baby boy in Dec 08. So before I went back to Singapore (early Jan 09), I made a rocking horse soft toy for her boy. There should be a bell inside the rocking horse, but I was in a rush and I didn't have time to search for it. I found a cat's toy at the corner of the house, which was left by the previous owner and I even thought of dismantling it and get the bell for the rocking horse! Well, I didn't do that, of course, that would be unhygienic, wouldn't it? ;-)

Another friend, LG requested a toy for her 3-year-old boy. I made a whale, which is really huge! I was worried that it wouldn't fit into the luggage but luckily it did. Then our group of friends had a Chinese new year gathering and I brought it along so that I could pass it to LG. With a huge plastic bag in hand, I traveled by buses and train, and it took more than 1.5 hours to reach my friend's apartment. Just to illustrate how big the plastic bag was, it's slightly longer than the length of my legs. And I'm 170cm tall, so you could imagine the stares I got from the people on the street!
