But there’s one huge issue of freebie hunting: many of them are fake. Too many people want to make use of your natural wish to receive something for free: they will promise you something, ask you for some personal details in exchange for it and then will steal your data or money and send you nothing.

So keep yourself safe from scam with these three S’s:

“Savviness”

Being aware of scam and knowing some “red flags” of it means you are almost protected, so remember the following:

• A spam email = scam! If you received the offer as an unsolicited email, stay away from it.
• A badly designed site = scam! A trusted seller will take care of his site look and feel.
• An add-stuffed page = scam! They should earn on selling the product; if they are trying to earn on you clicking their ads, their product is fake.
• No contact info, no privacy policy = scam! A trustworthy site should have all required policies and info listed on the site.
• Credit card details required – scam! If the thing is free, why would they need your credit card number?

Only use trusted sources of free offers. Here’s one I can recommend:

You don’t have to spend the whole day searching on the internet looking for free samples of your favorite brand. Get to try all kinds of products before purchasing them! All offers are obtained from legitimate websites. We will never post anything that is suspicious or spam-alike.

Self Education

A good thing to do before applying for a free offer is to look around a bit:

• Search Google to check the seller’s reputation. Use some additional words to find some shady information: [seller name reviews], [seller name scam]. [seller name experience]
• Search Twitter to see if someone has had any sad experience with the seller;
• Check your favorite forums and communities and ask there, chances are someone has heard about the offer already.

The three steps won’t take you too much time but they will hopefully save you from the trouble dealing with thieves and scammers. Good luck!

Just like 90% of the population, I’ve decided that since it is a new year I want a new me! In my household during football season, I cannot get any rest.  My Sunday afternoon nap time is replaced with two guys yelling and every TV in the house blaring as loud as possible. By the way, we have 7 TV’s in our house, so it makes it very, very loud. Ridiculous, I know!!

Upon entering the doors, my husband and I were cheerfully greeted by David Dalton who promptly took care of us.  The place was clean, including the bathrooms.

Where are you focused? Are you focused on your business or are you focused way out in left field? This right here can put your business into high gear or it can create a complete standstill. When working from home it becomes very easy to lose focus, because your mind is everywhere else but on your work. But letting your laundry sit for a couple of hours while you get some work done is totally OK. Your laundry does not pay your bills, but the couple of hours that you put into your business could create many financial rewards.

Not only should you be focused on your business tasks, but you should also be focused within your business. It is so easy to get totally sidetracked with all the possible new business ventures and other offers that you think are great. I have to admit, when it comes to taking care of my vehicles I am extremely lazy.  As a teen, my dad spent consider time teaching me to change a flat tire, how to change the oil in my mustang, how to change windshield wipers, blah, blah, blah.  As I got older, I learned that if there’s a noise coming from the hood all you need to do is turn up the radio and, like magic, the sound goes away!

When MyBlogSpark sent me the information to review, at first I thought this would be some boring material to read and write a review. BUT, I was so surprised when I went to Motor Oil Matters and saw how interactive their website is.  Since I’m a huge NASCAR fan, I watched every video three times each! While my favorite #88 Dale Jr was not interviewed in these videos, several from his racing team were.

Chad Knaus, Chief of the #48 Team (Jimmie Johnson), talked about the importance of using a high quality oil, such as Quaker State, for better performance and care for your car.  I guess I never really gave much thought to what type of motor oil to use in my car.  Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever discussed it with the mechanics that change my oil.  Hmmm…I wonder if they are using the proper oil in my foreign car or are they using the cheapest oil for better profits.  This is something I will definitely be asking.

Okay, so I went through the website (which is awesome) and decided to take the Motor Oil Fact or Fiction Quiz to test my knowledge.  I’m pretty good at tests, so I was confident that I would pass.

Well…

I didn’t!! You heard me right…I did NOT pass the quiz.  I made a 71.43% and the passing grade was 80%.  Now, if we were talking about a cute pair of patent leather shoes, I would have definitely passed!  But, there’s so much I need to learn about car care and Motor Oil Matters is a great place to start.
