You may have reluctantly walked passed these seats on your way to economy. Hey, they already have drinks in their hand!

What else can these people expect near the front of the plane? They enjoy many luxurious amenities, which vary from airline to airline. Before departure they can take advantage of airport lounges, which may offer free beverages, snacks, newspapers and Internet access.

Some even provide showers and a lounge chair for a short nap. The pampering is great - and some airlines are known for trying to outdo their competitors in search of that repeat flyer. This sure beats trying to lug your carry on through a fast food line.

They’re first on and first off. This can really be an advantage when heading trough immigration and custom lines and the beach beckons. And, look at the size of those seats! They recline…way back… and on some, a curtain can be pulled for privacy.

They’re likely sitting close to more savvy and interesting travelers, fewer hysterical first time flyers and crying babies. They get better entertainment options, such as free audio and video on demand (AVOD) and laptop Internet connections.

It’s a pleasure to dine in Business Class with most airlines providing menus with delicious choices. And good food just tastes better when served on porcelain plates. If you have a special diet, you can pre order your meal prior to the flight. Of course, beverages are complimentary with fine wines and champagnes. Wonder what those guys in the economy class are having?

Travel with a companion and save. When flying business class, usually a companion gets a deep discount and sometimes even flies free. Other than that, discounts are hard to come by unless you’re willing to sacrifice time and flexibility. In other words, fare discounts may be offered for non-direct flights that include layovers that could end up costing you time, money and convenience in the long run.

Frequent flyers are allowed to utilize their air miles to be upgraded to Business Class. Be sure to mention this when you make your reservation. Remember there is a certain group of flyers who are willing to pay for the privilege of sitting in Business Class, so book early. To some popular destinations, making reservations six to twelve months early is not too soon if you plan to try for an upgrade.

Is it worth it? Business Class can cost as much as four times that of economy and remember, amenities can vary greatly so don’t be shy about asking questions. If personal attention, feeling special and fun perks are important, then Business Class may be for you. You won’t get there any quicker than the folks in economy, but the experience is unforgettable.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Travel alters your daily routine of sleep, diet, exercise and environment. When this happens your body can cease to function properly and this can lead to insomnia, upset stomachs, allergies and emotional stress. But there are many ways to stay healthy while traveling.

Food can be a leading cause of illness when traveling, especially in foreign countries.
Avoid eating heavily. You will be subjected to new and possibly exotic foods so remember all things in moderation.

You don’t pig out on junk food at the office do you? Substitute fruit or possibly a health bar. Fruit that you peel is probably safer. Know the difference between hunger and boredom. It’s best to eat before a long flight.

Water can also cause problems. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration but make sure the water is safe. When in doubt, drink bottled water and avoid ice in drinks. Put an extra bottle of water in your bag to carry aboard the plane.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Both are diuretics and will keep you going to the bathroom unnecessarily. Remember, one drink in the air can act like two on the ground. If you must attend a gathering at the bar, never be the last to leave.

Get plenty of rest and sleep. Make sure your hotel room is at least two floors away from all the parties. This avoids the noise and the temptation. Also, request a room away from the elevators and ice machine.

Ice machines vibrate and this filters through to adjacent rooms. It’s wise to clear a path from your bed to the bathroom before you turn out the light. It will save a possible “trip” you didn’t want to take.

Make time for exercise. A healthy traveler is a more fit and productive traveler. Most hotels have health spas and many great business contacts are made there.

If you have back problems, two small suitcases with wheels are better than one large one.
Better yet, call a porter.

Alleviate jetlag by tricking your body into adapting to the new time zone. Go to bed when the natives go to bed - even if it’s noon at home.

Wash your hands frequently and avoid any co-worker who is sick.

If you do get sick, don’t panic. Rest, take your medications and it will likely pass in a day or two. Take time to relax and read or watch an in-room movie. Your co-workers will appreciate your not spreading any illness to them.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Luggage selection is especially important now that airlines are charging a fee for a second checked bag and many times the first bag as well when traveling economy class.

If you’re flying first class or business class, fees don’t usually apply…yet. Still, the savvy business traveler needs to be aware of what options are available when it comes to traveling smart and friendly.

Never has there been such a diverse selection of luggage, both checked through and carry on. The smart business traveler travels light for a number of reasons including security, economy and mobility.

It’s important that the bags not only carry everything needed as compactly as possible but it must also be easily accessible for both the traveler and security. Luggage comes in all sizes, colors and prices and there is a bag that will fulfill your need be it on-line or in a department store.

If you’re interested in not leaving anything behind, a rolling business case might be your best bet. These include a removable garment sleeve, computer case, a toiletry kit and ample room for other necessities. It provides convenience and versatility. The garment sleeve is designed for 1 - 2 suits and is perfect for the 2 – 4 day business trip.

Never check a bag that is meant to be carried on. Most briefcases, travel totes and plastic garment covers are not designed to be checked. These are excellent for carrying on items you don’t want to lose such as medications, prescriptions and keys. Totes are best for a hassle free trip through airport security.

Traveling with a laptop? If you don’t want to pack your laptop with the other luggage there are many case options depending on how safe you want to be. Laptop cases come in both crush proof and corrosion proof and many are also watertight, airtight and dust proof. Colorful cases designed especially for women are also available.

If your bag is old, it may not withstand the demands of today’s automated carrying systems. It may be time to update. Never check through fragile items but if you must, hard covers provide a larger measure of safety than soft. And remember, no dangling straps or hangers.

To roll or not to roll? It depends on how light you’re traveling and how much you can tote around. No doubt, wheels make carrying much easier for baggage to be checked.
Remember too, never leave your luggage unattended and at your destination claim your bags immediately.

When it comes to luggage size does matter. The carry on bags must weigh less than 40 pounds and be no larger than 45 linear inches. You can determine how many linear inches your bag has by adding the length, width and height.

Business travelers are more concerned than ever about their luggage’s endurance, performance and style. A little pre-planning and judicious shopping for just the right luggage for your particular needs will go a long way toward an enjoyable and successful trip.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

There are many obvious solutions, which include using a motorcycle, bicycle, more fuel efficient car, public transportation or you could even walk.

Some businesses are resorting more to shipping their products and following up by phone and encouraging their employees to become less car and travel dependent. When possible, the face-to-face business call is becoming a thing of the past.

If you must fly, creative ticketing is becoming more prominent but most of it is frowned on by the airlines. These are tactics such as back-to-back ticketing where two round trip excursion tickets are bought with the required Saturday night stay restrictions.

The outward part of each ticket is used and the other half discarded. This could save more than half of a mid-week return. Be warned, though - airlines are cracking down on these practices saying it violates their policies. Many businesses are still using this method hoping they won’t be caught since the savings are significant.

Other ways to save on airline tickets is to book as early as possible, check for alternative dates and times and flying into a nearby airport. Being flexible on when and where you fly could save you up to 30% and more.

If your business trip requires you to drive you’re probably familiar with various ways to save on gas but here are a few you may have missed:

Avoid long engine warm-ups. 30 seconds is plenty.

Buy gas at the coolest time of day and don’t fill tank to the top. Stop at the first click.

Slow down. Driving at 55 mph saves more than 20% compared to driving 65 to 70.

Keep windows closed when driving highway speeds and your car top clear to reduce drag. Even a vinyl top creates extra friction and uses more fuel. Sleek aerodynamics can save money.

Put an automatic transmission in neutral when idling for a long time. The strain uses extra gas and heats up the transmission.

Remove snow or icicles from your car and unnecessary things from your trunk. Extra weight means extra fuel.

When buying gas, it’s usually higher in the affluent areas of town.

Economists say worldwide demand for gas is rising. However, U. S. consumption is down with fewer miles driven each year. But so far gas prices continue to rise with the penny-wise business traveler the ultimate survivor.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Unfortunately, there are those who must travel in their jobs and are expected to perform at their maximum level regardless of jetlag, lost luggage, lost sleep and arguments with the cab driver. There are ways to avoid problems and arrive at your destination at the top of your game and feeling great.

1. Plan ahead. Sure this is a no-brainer, but give it some serious thought. Be a good Boy Scout and be prepared by completing any presentations early and pack the night before you leave. Family matters should be resolved early so you get a good night’s sleep before traveling. Confirm your plane reservations and arrive at the airport early.

2. Check with your credit card company to see if they add a surcharge to foreign currency or ATM transactions. Many add an additional 2 to 3 percent.

3. Things to carry? A big wallet that can hold tickets, credit cards, passport and receipts all in one place. Pack a pen and have scratch paper handy for making notes. Always carry some cash - including coins in case your cell phone won’t work.

4. If you carry lots of metal things in your jacket pockets like phone, keys, coins and pens, it saves a lot of time and hassle to simply remove your jacket and place it on the conveyor belt when going through airport security instead of placing each item in the plastic tray.

5. Arrange a transfer from your airport destination to your hotel before you leave home. Determine the approximate cost and time of the transportation to avoid arriving late.

6. Always carry on your laptop. Yes, even if you don’t plan to use it in flight, you’ll have the peace of mind that it’s okay and by your side. You can relax knowing the baggage handlers can toss around somebody else’s expensive computer.

7. If you’re flying to another time zone, change your watch to that zone’s time as you take off. You’ll feel better if you adapt quickly to the new time even if it means going to bed sooner than you want.

8. If you’re spending several consecutive nights in the same hotel, take this opportunity to do laundry. If you packed light, as you should, this might be necessary.

9. Exercise and get a good night’s sleep. A recent study revealed that business travelers who exercised while on a trip performed up to 61% better than those who didn’t.

10. If you must take a cab, negotiate fares up front. If you wait until you’ve reached your destination, you’re at the cab driver’s mercy.

Lastly, find time to relax and smile even if you should encounter a couple of rough spots. A stress free business traveler is a happy business traveler and one who performs better at his or her job
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Even with that history, Princess Cruise Ships are among the newest on the seas, over half of them launched since 2000.

The larger ships like the Grand Princess and Diamond Princess carry over 2,500 passengers while their smaller sister ships like Pacific Princess and Royal Princess accommodate about 700 passengers.

Don’t count this smaller line out of the race. Princess Cruises were instrumental in liberating passengers from restrictive dining schedules. Their Anytime Dining invites passengers to enjoy dinner between 5:30 P.M. to 10 P.M. and sit wherever they choose.

No more assigned tables. A few of the larger Princess ships have one traditional dining room with seating times for passengers who prefer that schedule, but the Anytime Dining is also available.

If you choose Anytime Dining, you don’t miss any great foods. In fact, you can also dine at the specialty restaurants on board like the Bayou Café & Steakhouse or the Crown Grille.

If you are a lifelong learner who finds enjoyment in expanding your knowledge, then you will be drawn to the Princess Cruise Scholarship@Sea Program. The schedules vary but include such fascinating how-to sessions as digital photography, art, sculpture and gourmet cooking. You might even find a class that shows you how to make the creative folds that you see in table napkins and the towels in your cabin.

Most cruise ships have indoor theatres, which are like any other theatre. On a Princess Cruise, you can enjoy Movies Under the Stars. A massive screen is set up at poolside so you can enjoy a movie as the gentle trade winds brush over the deck. This takes movie watching to an entirely new level.

Princess Cruises dominate the waters in Alaska and Northwest Canada. They offer the largest number of cruise dates in this area as well as the most choices for on shore excursions and after cruise land vacation extensions.

The cruise line also owns five lodges in Alaska - including one near the acclaimed Denali National Park. So if your family can’t decide between roughing it in the Alaska wilderness or receiving the pampering of cruise travel, you can have both in a Princess Cruise package with both cruise and lodge time.

The sister ships, Tahitian Princess, Pacific Princess and Royal Princess have only 500-700 passengers. By cruise standards - that’s small. If you prefer a more intimate, adult cruising experience, then these ships have just what you want.

There are fewer options for families and little to no children’s programs so these cruises tend to be adults only with few exceptions. The smaller sister ships are also easier to move around in tight spaces, so they can dock at more exotic ports of call.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Within a few weeks to days of sailing, ships take inventory for the sold rooms minus cancellations.

What are left over are empty cabins - which mean lost revenue. Since the ship is sailing anyway, the cruise line do what retailers do - they put the rooms out for deep discount prices.

Here’s where you can grab major deals on the best cruises, but you have to act fast. How good are these deals? You can save from 40% up to 80%. A quick search showed these examples within a 60-day window:

Seattle to Alaska - $3,000 reduced to $899
Miami to Bahamas, $799 now $239 due to 2nd Price Reduction
Caribbean from San Juan, Puerto Rico, $1,669 now $479, 71% reduction
San Diego, CA to Mexico - $1,669 down to $499, 70% reduction

Even the exotic cruise locations can be purchased on discount if you check daily and are ready to buy when the deal opens. You can take a trip of a lifetime at almost two for one deals, like these:

Fort Lauderdale thru the Panama Canal - $12,500 down to $6,500, 50% reduction
Lower Italy around the Mediterranean - $2,500, now $900 with 64% reduction
Honolulu around the Islands - $3,800, now $1,600, a 57% reduction

How do you find these deals? First, you need to subscribe to several discount cruise travel sites. Set up your information account with the specifics of location and types of cruise that interests you.

If you like a particular cruise line, you can also register at the cruise line site and set up a personal information account. On every cruise site where you are registered, set up an “alert” so you will receive an email when a cruise that fits your preference becomes available.

Don’t forget the local travel agent. Let the agent know about your interests for cruise travel and your willingness to be a last minute travel. The agent may have clients who booked a cruise but for health or other reasons have to back out. If the agent knows you are interest, you can get first chance at the deal.

Last minute cruising doesn’t mean you’ll get a call from the ship saying be here in two hours. More likely, you’ll know a few weeks ahead of time. Since many ships have Internet Cafes, last minute cruising can work for entrepreneurs who don’t punch the clock anyway but need to stay in touch with their businesses. Better still, just “unplug” yourself and really enjoy the cruise.

Remember to check your passport and keep it updated. Have a tentative packing list of cruise travel clothes so you can pack and go quickly. For the adventure minded, the bargains are wonderful but so is the mystery of where and when you’re vacationing.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Each traveler’s packed those huge, heavy steamer trunks filled with evening gowns and tuxedos as well as leisure clothes.

Today cruise travel is open to everyone at prices that fit your budget. In fact, cruising is an increasingly popular family vacation option as well as for family reunions. Think of choosing a cruise ship the way you choose a car.

Whether luxury sedan or bargain SUV, the car gets you where you are going, the question is more one of style than transportation. Several cruise ships can take you to the Bahamas for example, so the choice you make is about the features and style of the cruise ship.

Carnival Cruise Lines jumped out from the pack early to position their product as “the Fun Ship.” Carnival caters to families by offering special supervised programs for children and teens so the parents can enjoy time on their own.

The largest cruise line in the world, Carnival offers innovations such as the first smoke free ship, Carnival Paradise, increased smoke free zones, Internet Cafes and the renowned Nautica Spa - now called SpaCarnival.

Disney Cruise Lines incorporated their characters and fantasy world onto the ship experience. To enhance the family friendly image, Disney Cruise Ships do not have any casinos. The children’s programs are top notch – plus, there are some kid-free zones in restaurants and the spa for adults to unwind.

Holland America is among the old guard of cruising. Purchased by Carnival, the Nordic heritage of Holland America is evident in the gracious service and well-mannered staff. The cruise experience is slightly more traditional which attracts higher income passengers who prefer the old cruise elegance. Children’s programs are best during summer vacation months.

Royal Caribbean started the massive center atrium design that is common on newer ships. As the smaller ships are replaced by newer ones, Royal Caribbean is adding Wi-Fi zones, Internet Cafe and offering a CyberCabin for an additional fee. Another feature on the new ships will be a non-smoking major lounge and smoke free zones in many public areas.

Windstar Ships are small, catering to 148 to 250 passengers compared with thousands on the major lines. The Windstar passenger is typically younger, active and prefers the “Casual Elegance” which is the official dress code. Each ship has a water sports platform for passengers to participate in windsailing, snorkeling, scuba and water skiing.

Looking at these and the many other cruises, which one is the best? That answer depends on the type of vacation you want, the level of activity, degree of formality, availability of children’s programs and maximum amenities v. budget price. The great thing about cruise travel is that you can get to the same destination for different prices depending on the cruise package that’s right for you.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Even now the ships become more family friendly. So what about a single person who wants to cruise? Recognizing that need, many ships offer special programs to make singles feel welcome and enjoy time socializing with other singles.

Solo cruising has been more expensive than couples cruising because half the cabin brings in no revenue. On some cruise lines that means the solo cruises pays double or gets stuck with a stranger as a roommate.

More ships are recognizing this concern and offering fair rates for solo cruisers who prefer to room alone. When you shop for a cruise, check the rates for the fair deals. Some cruise lines have a “find a cabin mate” program where you submit interests and the line attempts to match you, much like roommate matching in college dorms.

You can accept or reject the roommate match suggested for you. Once on the ship, you’ll find more activities for solo cruisers of all ages. Some cruise lines maintain the tradition of providing a “gentleman host” as partner for dancing and dining to women traveling alone to register for this option.

While this tends to appeal to older travelers, there’s no age limit to participate. For younger solo cruisers there are singles mixers, separate from the regular welcome aboard parties. Other special events are planned for singles such as sports, karaoke and dance club parties.

Finding romance on a cruise may be easier since you are more relaxed and in an atmosphere of fun. The stresses from work and home are back on the dock. You are there to have fun, which makes many people open up and be their true selves.

Don’t count on the singles events to produce a partner - be active all over the ship. At dinner, ask to be seated at a large table, don’t hide in the corner. Singles are often seated together at large tables to avoid breaking up a family group who wants more space.

Before entering the dining room, scan the embarkation photos on display in the lobby. If you see a great looking person who is alone in the photo, chances are that person is a solo cruiser. So do some “window shopping” and know who you are looking for when you enter the dining room.

Get involved in activities that you enjoy; sports, spa, exercise classes or shipboard games. Even if you are seated next to the grandmas, be friendly and tell them you are single. You might find that they have a younger relative on board or they happen to be sitting with a single at dinner who’s also looking for other singles.

Families tend to go back to the cabins earlier. After midnight buffet, you’ll see most of the singles staying up to party. Be where they are and enjoy the evening. After all, you can sleep late. The party crowd also tends to arrive for late breakfast on the deck.

If you find a great partner, do shipboard romances last? So do, some don’t, but the romance at sea is a wonderful memory of a dream vacation with a dreamy partner by your side.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Or you’ll be packed like sardines into a small camper to save money to see the local attractions.

Cruise travel levels the playing field in ways that you won’t find vacationing “on land.” You can tell the first time cruisers when they arrive for dinner because they’re pleasantly surprised.

There are no cheap seats in the restaurant and the menu is the same regardless of which cabin you reserved. That’s such a surprise for budget travelers. You may be staying in a cabin on the lower decks that cost less, but you’re eating the same lobster tail entrée as the family who booked the upper deck suite with an ocean view balcony.

Each day you receive a bulletin with the next day’s shipboard activities. There are sports, contests, lectures, mingle parties, exercise classes, Yoga, Pilates and deck walking - just to name a few.

You can enroll your children and teens in age-graded activities for no extra charge. There are even special movie nights and teen parties in the evening, so the parents or grandparents can enjoy a night out at the lavish Las Vegas style live shows.

Or, you can go to a smaller lounge in an adult-only area for cocktails and the music of a jazz quartet. The price for this fabulous entertainment? No extra charge - it’s part of the cruise.

At home when your teens get hungry late at night a call for pizza, it’s a big charge - plus tip. On the cruise, they can call for pizza until late hours at no extra cost. Or you can all go to the Midnight Buffet, the most over-the-top food spread you’ll ever see.

Before leaving for shore excursions, crew members give informational sessions to tell you what to expect and suggest places to shop or eat. Usually you receive coupon booklets for stores on shore.

You also have the chance to buy tickets for local attractions at a price that’s often better than what you would pay on shore. Needless to say, the attractions cater to the cruise ship trade and give them the best deals.

Another way to save money for shore excursions is for the family to eat a hearty breakfast or lunch on the ship before leaving. You can then sample local foods or decide to spend your money on souvenirs and tee shirts.

Use the time while eating on ship to look over the shore maps and find at least two local points of interest that are free to inexpensive. Vacationers sometimes rush to reserve a scuba trip, only to spend most of the day waiting or transporting to the scuba site.

Meanwhile, they see nothing of the town or experience the local culture. Unless you are an experienced, die-hard scuba diver who finds this the ultimate event of the cruise, save the scuba for back home and enjoy the port of call.

Cruise travel is the most egalitarian form of vacation. The only difference is the price and location of your cabin. The fabulous food, onboard activities, children’s programs and great service are the same for everyone. You’ll never get as much for the money on land as you do on ship and you aren’t constantly looking for a place to buy gas.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

The Disney Cruise is an extension of the fantasy and fun that’s part of the Disney theme parks. What started as a family cruise program has become a vacation option for all ages from families to couples to honeymooners.

The two Disney ships are decorated with a nod to old world cruise elegance and a wink to the Disney icons. You must stay on the lookout for those “hidden Mickeys” the famous mouse outline that peeks out from unexpected places like wallpaper or the swirls of fine china.

The ship’s atrium is massive and provides a great meeting place for families and groups on the way to the next activity. One complaint that families often have about cruise travel is the need to walk through the smelly casinos to get to other public areas of the ship.

Disney Cruise Lines have the distinction of no casinos onboard, just wholesome entertainment so you can allow your older children and teens free access around the ship. Another distinctive that families appreciate is the “Soda Card” which lets any passenger receive unlimited sodas at the restaurants or the poolside beverage stands.

If you’ve never cruised before, on most ships you had to order a simple diet soda from the bar and pay bar tab prices for a soft drink. This popular feature – the soda card - is being copied by other ships.

Another great benefit on Disney cruises is the unusually generous cabin sizes. Knowing that the ships would attract families, Disney Cruise Lines have family cabins to hold six with a bath and a half.

Over 40% of the outside cabins have open balconies. Bathtub, mini-bar, safe and hair dryers are standard equipment in all cabins. As nice as the cabins are, why stay inside where there are so many fantastic shipboard activities?

The Disney Children’s programs are well organized, creative and clearly a step above the usual shipboard babysitting. Childcare begins for infants and toddlers. The Oceaneers (ages 3-7) have hands-on science games, Oceaneer Labs (ages 8-12) have marine biology game shows and the Teens enjoy a private club with video games, MP3 stations and soda bar.

These are free with only a charge for babysitting after 1 A.M. So where are the parents? They escape to a Broadway style theatre, elegant reservations-only restaurant, spa, sports pub, piano bar or the dance club.

Everyone looks forward to the day at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Since all children are automatically enrolled in the Castaway Club for supervised activities on the island, the adults can slip away to an adults-only beach or spend the day with the kids at the family beach with games and activities.

What’s a Disney vacation without a theme park? Not to worry. Cruise guests get special land-sea packages so after docking at Cape Canaveral, they are whisked away to Disneyworld in Orlando for the full theme park experience. I’m a creative and passionate person. Creating new things and ideas everyday keep me going. I express myself through writing, and what I can’t express in writing, I do through art, mostly painting and drawing. Photography is another one of my passions which helps me bring amazing sceneries from my travel destinations or gives me the opportunity to steal little pieces of time when I feel inspired. I speak five languages and I’m planning to start studying animation soon. =)

I enjoy music, good conversation and laughing with my friends. Also, I’m an aspiring entrepreneur and beeing a part of the greatest organization in the internet world has changed my life, brought amazing people to me who thought me not only about business, but life too.

I travel whenever I have the opportunity to enrich my life with new experiences, adventures and knowledge. But I never forget about fun and creating memorable moments with my friends…

Travelling all around Europe, searching new places, new advantures and meeting new people has always been a part of my life. I don’t even get home from my last trip before I start getting new ideas on where to go next. There is always a plan. After a while I decided to start planning my trips by myself because I found it to be the best way to incorporate everything me and my friends want to do, where we want to go, cut the costs and, most importantly, have the freedom to plan adventures no travel agency can provide you with.

Very quickly I became so good at planning the trips that my friends say I do magic with it and intrust me with the assignment every time. And I enjoy doing it. That is why I decided to share my knowledge with you and help you plan your trips, give you ideas, inspire you maybe and share my own experiences.

Hope you will enjoy reading my blog!

Bon voyage…!
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

The day before is what turns the dream into a nightmare. After packing the van, loading the snacks, getting the maps, securing children in car seats and finally getting on the road, you’re exhausted before you get there.

You arrive late to the motel because of a traffic jam, the rooms are full and you’re back in the car with tired, crying children. Isn’t that fun? If you had listened to your spouse and booked the cruise, you’d be lounging on the deck under the stars while the children would be happily entertained at the kids program.

Sure the Grand Canyon is great - as are other land sites. But if vacation means more to you than running from place to place and a different hotel each night, then you need to kick back on a cruise.

You leave the car in the parking lot because you enter a complete town inside a cruise ship. Everything you need from 24-hour food service to entertainment to sports is all there in walking distance from your cabin.

If you get a budget hotel on land, you’ll be lucky to get the towels changed and a swipe of cleaning. On a cruise ship, you have an assigned Cabin Steward who is literally on call to meet your needs.

Not only do you have clean towels, but you find the towels arranged in the most creative shapes - a new one every day. Whether you book an inexpensive cabin on the lower decks or an oceanfront suite with balcony, you receive the kind of service that’s usually reserved for celebrities.

On land, you have to negotiate with the family or travel group about where to go and what to see. Somebody wins, somebody loses. Not so on a cruise, where Dad can skeet shoot, Mom checks in for massage and facial at the spa, teens go to their video game room, kids can’t wait to get to the children’s program and even Grandma can find a bridge game.

Just remember to leave your wallet in the cabin. Dozens of daily shipboard activities are free. On land, you wear out your credit card since everything comes at a price. Perhaps the most astounding aspect of cruising for newcomers is the food.

From breakfast on the pool deck to lunch buffet and dinner, you can eat 24/7. Cruises are known for lavish Midnight Buffets if you have room to eat after ordering your choice among four to five courses at dinner.

But in case you danced past the late buffet, call for cabin service to bring pizza and sandwiches to your cabin. Every meal is an event - whether it’s a themed dinner or the dressy dinner on Captain’s welcome night.

Once again, put away your wallet. Cruising is the ultimate all-you-can-eat experience and every delicious bite is part of the total per person cost. Go ahead, eat your weight in lobster tail and prime steak - it’s all inclusive.

If you estimate just the cost of food on a land vacation, you may find that alone is the amount it takes to send the family on a cruise vacation. For the wandering tourist, there’s ample time to stroll around foreign ports of call when the ship docks.

Prior to docking, the cruise director offers briefing sessions to tell you about the attractions, special events and side trips that you can do while on land. Cruise travel has it all – food, fun, pampering and the chance to visit exotic p
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Major cruise ships are larger than some land-based communities - with 3,000 + passengers and half that number in cruise staff.

You’ll find practically everything on the ship that you left on land, except the stress. That stays on the dock as well. Modern cruise ships are marvels of engineering. The anti-roll technology and computerized monitoring means that you hardly notice the movement when underway.

The cruise ship is organized much like a city. The cabins are neighborhoods with some budget accommodations and others elaborate suites with oceanfront balconies. You even get a daily “newspaper” delivered to your room and slid under the door during the predawn hours.

When you awake, the biggest decision you have to make is what to do today from among the overwhelming list of shipboard activities. Food choices are beyond imagination on all cruise lines, particularly the larger ships.

You can eat in the main dining room or go to one of several specialty restaurants. If you love the sushi bar, Mexicali or Italian bistro, you can eat there. Or you can have food served almost anytime on the deck under the stars.

What’s so amazing is that you have so many choices for breakfast, lunch, snack, afternoon tea, dinner and late night snacks, which are all part of the total cruise price. Whether you order filet mignon or lobster - or both, there’s no grimacing as you sign the check.

For food lovers, cruising is one great meal after another. If you hate the daily commute, you’ll be thrilled with cruise travel. You can walk around the ship to anything you want to do. Keep up your fitness routine at the health club, which is usually on the upper decks.

You’ve never had such a fabulous view while sweating on the cycle. Then check in at the luxurious spa for massage, facial or a soak in the whirlpool. If you’re bored (which is tough to imagine), look at the daily activities list.

Visit the card room, Internet Café, video game room or attend a lecture in the library. Sports are big onboard activities. You can find a pick up game for volleyball, try your aim with skeet shooting or participate in some rock wall climbing. When you get tired after any activity, just walk back to the cabin and take a break.

You can also select a theme cruise and you’ll find plenty of people who share your interests. Music lovers can find a cruise based on rock and roll, country music, classical or cruising to the oldies.

Wine tasters and gourmet food buffs are frequent cruises enjoying not only special tastings on board but also excursions to places that cater to their interests. Most every type of hobby has a theme cruise so you connect with others who are as dedicated to model railroads, scrapbooking or photography as you are. You can also find faith based cruises for families who share your beliefs. When the group is larger enough, the entire ship is chartered for special interest groups.

Cruise ships also have practical features such as a doctor and infirmary, shopping for anything you forgot to bring from home, translators if needed and plenty of advice about how to enjoy yourself on shore excursions. This is one city that’s devoted to making your stay absolutely perfect.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

What Celebrity Cruises does so well is to make you feel like you yourself are a “celebrity” so that you experience cruising like the rich and famous while remaining within your budget.

With the introduction of the Millennium in 2002, Celebrity Cruises reached a new level of shipboard elegance that can appeal to people of all walks of life. The Celebrity experience was designed to spoil you with unexpected touches like a poolside massage or high tea in the afternoon. Personal services are brought to you, wherever you are without waiting in line.

The lavish midnight buffet that’s a cruise industry hallmark expanded. Celebrity Cruises offer chic continental breakfast choices as well as a lunch buffet that puts the soup and sandwich to shame.

You can literally enjoy gourmet food choices all day and well into the night. Other hints of the way the upper crust live comes in the sophisticated wine tasting events, cigar lounge on some ships, martini bars, spa café dinners and the more adult oriented “Welcome Aboard” party.

Another innovation for the health minded guest is Celebrity’s unique Acupuncture at Sea treatments to sooth stress, relieve pain and prepare to fully enjoy the cruise. The spas are state of the art with professionals who give the most luxurious massages, facials and paraffin treatments all the way to full makeovers and hair styling. You can leave the cruise not just feeling like a new person but looking like one as well.

If you just can’t stay away from your many fans (or your overloaded email), Connect@Sea gives you 24/7 Internet access from your cabin. You can even take a few minutes to send back photos that show you lounging on the deck with a sumptuous tray of foods and the extremely hot server who delivered it to your table. Or you can take your laptop to the CyberCafe-at-Sea to get online in the company of other Internet surfers.

When a celebrity is on board there’s always a party and the same is true for you. Celebrity Cruises encourages you to start chatting on the Celebrity Connections online message board before your cruise date.

It’s a way to gather a group of like-minded people who want to meet and greet onboard. Whether you invite people traveling with you or develop a group online, when you have 25 people who are interested in connecting, Celebrity Cruises will prepare a private party for your group during the first two days of the cruise.

As with any exclusive event, Celebrity staff will deliver personal invitations to the cabins of everyone in your group. Now that’s the way the stars create special events for the “in-crowd.”

Before long you’ll have a new group of friends. So whether you are a celebrity in your own mind or the real deal, Celebrity Cruises will wrap you in plush bathrobes and surround you in luxury as if you were their only guest.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

The question, though, is when do you really need to purchase travel insurance and why? Here is a list of times when you should consider purchasing travel insurance.

Traveling abroad - Whenever you travel outside of the country, you should always have travel insurance in place. It’s too easy to lose your luggage in those long trips that often require switching of planes.

You also have to consider that when you’re traveling abroad, your health insurance may not cover any medical costs that occur outside of your country. Travel insurance will cover you for any lost items and emergency medical costs that you incur while you’re outside of your own country.

The insurance can cover a good portion of what you lost or your medical bills, so take advantage of it. It’s better to be safe than sorry in these situations.

Traveling with expensive equipment - If you own a laptop and plan to take it with you on your long distance trip, you should consider getting it insured. All too often, laptop owners have their laptops stolen while they’re away from their car or while you’re away from the hotel room.

Laptops are expensive to replace - like other expensive items, such as jewelry. Travel insurance will help you recover a portion of the loss of that item, enabling you to replace it easily.

It also helps covers the costs when an unfortunate accident occurs. It’s better to pay a little money for the insurance then to get socked with a major loss because something happened while you were on your trip.

Planning an expensive trip - If you’re going on an expensive cruise, traveling abroad or flying first class on a popular airline, you should consider travel insurance. It will cover you in case something unforeseen happens.

If you have an unexpected death in the family right before you’re about to leave for your trip, the insurance will keep you from losing your money. If the airline you’ve booked a flight with all of a sudden goes bankrupt right before your trip, the insurance will cover the loss there.

Don’t assume the airline will honor your flight booking and give you a refund in the event they file bankruptcy. It’s not likely that will happen, since they’re filing bankruptcy for a reason.

Travel insurance can be a huge help to you anytime you travel a long distance, abroad or with expensive items. Keep your traveling investment safe by purchasing some kind of travel insurance and avoid those unforeseen things that happen which end up costing more money in the end.

Travel insurance covers many different things, so do your research and what each company offers. Determine what you really need and protect yourself the next time you plan to travel.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Traveling abroad can be serious business unless you know how to stay safe. Here are some things to keep in mind the next time you have to travel abroad.

Check out weather patterns - Check out the weather patterns for every place along your route. Plan for possible plane delays if the weather seems to be iffy in one or more areas.

If there’s a chance of severe weather, like a hurricane, for your destination then plan on going another time if possible. Play it safe and don’t risk getting caught in severe weather like that.

Check for security concerns - Find out what’s going on within the country you plan to visit. Are there any political arguments that could lead to an all out war? Don’t get caught in the middle of a battle if you know ahead of time that a war could break out.

Research the culture of the country you’re planning to go to. Different countries have different cultures. Don’t assume that the country you’re planning to go to will accommodate your cultural beliefs.

You may ultimately offend someone in another country by what you deem to be innocent behavior. This can cause them to retaliate against you. Know as much as you can before leaving for your trip.

Learn their language. Learn as much of their language as possible. Some people can take advantage of you if they think you don’t have any idea of what they’re saying. It can also help to eliminate any misunderstandings, which may cause violence.

Check with your health insurance company. Find out if your health insurance will cover medical costs abroad. Don’t just assume they will. If they do cover medical costs abroad, find out what they do and don’t cover.

Reserve your stay at the more popular tourist attraction hotels. These are more likely to have better security than ones that are off away from the tourist spots. Don’t wander away from hot tourist areas because you can be an easy target for the locals. If you have a trustworthy guide, then it’s okay to explore - but only with them. Never go off alone.

Don’t advertise yourself as a tourist. Try to wear clothes that will make you blend in with the locals. If you choose to rent a car while abroad, don’t go for anything too flashy. It will only scream out to the locals that you’re a tourist and you then become a target.

Traveling abroad to another country can be a safe experience if you take precautions before you leave on your trip and don’t let your guard down when you reach your destination. Respect the locals and their cultural beliefs and try not to offend anyone. They’re more likely to welcome you then and may even protect you if needed.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Long plane rides or car rides can make any child restless, thereby making your trip miserable. It doesn’t have to be. Here are some tips to use to try to make traveling with tots a bit better:

Tip #1 - Plan ahead. Last minute, spontaneous car rides don’t work when there’s children involved. Plan your route and plan for frequent stops, too. Children need to get out and run around at least once an hour to stretch out their legs. If your child isn’t old enough to walk yet, get them out of the car seat for a little bit anyway.

Tip #2 - Prepare yourself. Children have smaller bladders than you do, so they need to go more often. They also tend to ask a lot of questions and noise is inevitable for them.

Don’t act surprised when you have to answer a lot of questions and make more stops than you anticipated. Keep your sanity by preparing yourself for these things before the trip.

Tip#3 - For long trips in a car or plane, bring along some new toys for them to play with. Handheld video games are good time killers for the older children and some travel games are good for the younger ones.

Avoid books and coloring books because they can cause car-sickness. Infants aren’t immune to boredom either, so make sure they have new squishy things to hold or a rattle to shake. Switch off every so often to maintain their interest.

Tip #4 - Don’t forget the snacks. Children get bored on long trips and tend to get hungry quite often. Have some good, healthy snacks handy to dole out at these times to save you from having to make yet another stop and spending a lot more money for snacks at a gas station.

Tip #5 - Recruit reinforcements if you can. Invite friends or other family members along on your trip. They may be able to keep your kids busy while you get a few moments here and there for yourself, so you can recuperate and refresh your mind.

Tip #6 - Space out your activities. If you’re traveling with young children, don’t try to jam a day’s worth of activities for them in only a few hours. This will only exhaust them and cause them to be irritable and grumpy. Give them time to do what they want as well, even if that means some time at a video arcade.

Tip #7 - Try to keep as much of their normal routine as possible. There’s nothing wrong with letting your kids stay up a little later while you’re on vacation, but don’t let them stay up for hours longer every night. This will only cause more trouble when you get back home.

Traveling with children can be a very exhausting task for your mind and body, but try to keep these tips in mind to help ease the process. Think of the trip through the eyes of your children and don’t expect them to act and react the same as you. It will only make your trip miserable.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

It can also be an energy-sapping experience with troubled times. Packing a few extra items for your trip can help make things go a lot easier and allow you to have time to relax. Here are some top travel accessories you can take advantage of.

Digital Camera - This is actually a must for any trip. How many times have you been to a place where you saw something you want to take a picture of, but you didn’t have a camera to do it with - or you take a picture and you get home only to find out the picture didn’t turn out right?

Digital cameras allow you to see the picture right away, so you have time to try again if needed. Don’t get anything too expensive or bulky, just a small cheaper one will do.

Personal grooming bag - Grooming bags help keep all of your items together in one place instead of you having to rummage through different suitcases to find one item. It also eliminates problems with getting make-up or other substances on your clothes.

Travel alarm clock - If you need to get up at certain times while on your trip, use a travel alarm clock. This is less intrusive than the annoying wake up calls from the front desk. It also lets you take a cat nap and will wake you up when needed so you still have time to enjoy your vacation, instead of falling asleep and waking up hours later.

Compressor bags for clothes - This is an awesome accessory to have. These bags are stuffed with your clothes and then the air is sucked out of them, leaving you with a compact bag.

It enables you to have more room in your suitcases and they protect your clothes. When you need an item of clothing, all you need to do is open up the bag and get it. The amazing part is that they don’t wrinkle the clothes.

Fanny pack - These are nice to have to keep your money and credit cards in. It eliminates the need for purses and you don’t have to worry as much about losing your wallet or purse. For women, it frees them up to move around instead of having to struggle with a purse strap always coming down.

Travel first aid kits - These are perfect for those minor emergencies that occur on the drive to your destination spot or even while you’re there. Buying them on the road can be costly, so bring your own and save that money for something else.

Traveling can be hard, but if you bring along some accessories, they can make things go a lot smoother for you. It may mean a few more things you have to pack, but it can be well worth the space and effort in the long run.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

Here are some things to keep in mind when choosing a travel agency for your upcoming vacation

Make sure they’re associated with ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) organization. This means that the traveling agency has strict rules and regulations they have to adhere to. It makes it easier for you to file a complaint against an agency in case you need to.

Be sure they don’t over exaggerate their deals. Every travel agency would like to get your business, but some will try to get you the best deal and won’t tell you everything you need to hear.

Make sure you have their contact information. If you go through an online travel agency, be sure they have their contact information clearly visible. There should be a phone number, address and an email address.

If all you’re presented with is an email address, move on to another agency. A reputable agency will have no problem showing their contact information. It also doesn’t hurt to try calling their phone number to talk to a live person and see if the number is for real.

Watch for hidden fees. Reputable agencies will lay out the deals exactly as they are. The ones that aren’t legit tend to promise low rates and then charge you for extra fees once they’ve reeled you into their trap. Get every fee in writing.

Reputable agencies will go out of their way to make your trip as pleasant as possible. If you need handicap-accessible items, they’ll go out of their way to make sure you’re well taken care of. The ones that aren’t good are only interested in getting your money and not your return business.

Reputable agencies are there for you even when you’re on your trip and come across a problem. They work with you before, during and even after your trip to ensure everything goes smoothly. Bad ones tend to disappear after you’ve paid them for their services.

A reputable agency will offer some tips for your travel plans and let you know about a country’s culture so you can play it safe while on your vacation. They’re always on the lookout for any dangers that may occur in the country you want to visit and will alert you if there’s a problem.

Some sell you their package and disappear after that, leaving you on your own. Travel agencies do all of the work for you so that all you have to worry about is having fun on your vacation.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com

From their image as the “Fun Ship” to adding children’s programs that were much more than babysitting, Carnival priced cruises so that families could afford to travel together.

To further open the cruise travel options that didn’t make you go to Miami, Los Angeles or New York, Carnival was a pioneer in adding regional drive-to ports so you could board the ship in New Orleans, Jacksonville, Port Canaveral, Norfolk, Charleston, Galveston, Long Beach and Mobile.

In breaking with the old image of cruising as the place for stuffy rich folks and making it appealing to younger travelers, Carnival created highly successful packages for weddings at sea and family reunions.

The Carnival line is the most aggressive in adding state of the art new ships to the fleet. Among the features of the newer ships are interior upgrades in the public areas - but even more personal to the passengers are the new Carnival Comfort Beds.

Each cabin has beds with deluxe comfort mattresses, high quality linens and soft pillows. Even standard cabins have a plush bathrobe waiting for you. Another health-related feature is the increased restriction of smoking in public areas.

The fun on deck often centers around the pool area - from the poolside snack service to the twists and turns of the water slide. Of course the now traditional “belly-flop” pool contest is worth watching.

Some of the Carnival Ships have a retractable cover over the pool area so you can enjoy it year round. If you like water activities in a calmer way, check in at the luxurious Nautica Spa or Spa Carnival for quiet enjoyment in the steam room or whirlpool. Whether you stay for a massage and facial or work off lunch in the well-equipped fitness center, the spa is a kid-free zone.

So certain that Carnival could live up to its motto of “exceeding expectations,” they were the first line to give a vacation satisfaction guarantee. If passengers are not enjoying their cruise, they can leave the ship at the first port and receive a refund. Needless to say that passengers find little interest in this option once they get their “sea legs” and start getting involved in the many wonderful activities onboard.

Another popular upgrade for the entire Carnival Cruise line is with food service. Passengers are no longer required to choose early or late seating, report at a certain time and dine at the same table.

Carnival’s Total Choice Dining offers four dinner times in the main dining, plus other specialty restaurants on the ship. Some ships have an Asian cuisine restaurant, New York Deli, Sushi Bar or Supper Club. You can dine in casual clothes or select a restaurant where dress is as uptown as the meal.

Carnival Cruises is also the parent company of a growing family of smaller cruises lines. That’s a real benefit because repeat guests receive great discounts for future cruises. You can also get excellent deals for groups of any size including scheduling some private functions for your colleagues or family reunion.
http://www.breezy-palms-travel.com
