The Most Instagrammable Spots in Fernandina Beach FL

A tropical paradise on Florida’s Atlantic coast, Fernandina Beach is an instagrammer’s dream, full of lush greenery and sparkling ocean backdrops. Part of warm, sunny Amelia Island in Nassau County, Fernandina Beach is known as “Isle of 8 Flags”, as it is the only United States municipality that has had eight different national flags fly over it. Grassy paths weave through scenic southern countryside rich in natural wildlife and vegetation, perfect for an instagram-worthy hike, and local wildlife are easy to see and photograph from a distance. Sparkling beaches, stunning historic parks, the glistening white Amelia Island Lighthouse, and more instagrammable opportunities abound in Fernandina Beach.

Fort Clinch State Park

Pristine greenery are interwoven with historic relics at Fort Clinch State Park, a 1,400-acre paradise with countless scenic spots perfect for any instagrammer. The park is famous for a row of Civil War-era cannons that point boldly across the St. Mary’s River. Visitors can snap a shot of the sun shining on the silvery 150-year-old cannons, or explore any number of the expansive fort’s other rooms, galleries, and grounds. Amelia Island Lighthouse

Perched on a 60-foot-high bluff towering over the crystalline waters of Egan’s Creek and the surrounding marshlands, instagram-worthy Amelia Island Lighthouse is Florida’s oldest lighthouse. Considered one of the most historic landmarks in all of Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island Lighthouse was built between 1838 and 1839, and is snugly located within a residential neighborhood. Though lighthouse tours are only available on the first and third Wednesday each month at 10am, the property is accessible on Saturdays for a few hours, in which visitors can explore the lighthouse grounds and take their fill of pictures. On tours, visitors can also step inside the bottom of the lighthouse to catch pictures and videos of the winding staircase to the top of the tower.

Treaty Oak

Skyscrapers fill the neighboring land, and a tiny patch of green grass protects the massive Treaty Oak in downtown Jacksonville, an ancient and stunning piece of Florida history that suggests longevity, ideal for engagement photos. The Treaty Oak is more than 200 years old, a historic relic rescued by the Jacksonville Garden Club, and in particular by wealthy industrialist Alfred I. duPont’s wife Jessie Ball duPont, a lifelong member of the club, who purchased the land in 1948 to preserve the beloved tree. Her foundation gave this land to the City of Jacksonville in 1964 for use only as a public park, and her determined efforts show in the sunny piece of natural beauty that breaks up the urban bustle, with picnic tables and benches offering perfect perches for an engagement photoshoot celebrating newly planted roots.
