Just had some of the Airush ONE kitesuf kites arrive in. Something a little different to the norm, the Airush ONE has only ONE canopy strut, making the kite much lighter, yet none of the toughness has been lost. The weight difference makes the ONE far quicker and more responsive that other kites of it size, and priced at under £ 1k for a 12m complete kite with bar, the pricing is right too! Industry feedback on this range of kites has been fantastic, with magazines quoting:

Kite Surfing friends Mark,Harry,Pete & Brad will kite surfe strapless all the way from England across to France to raise money for Cancer Research, RNLI & Children On The Edge/NSPCC.

The four kitesurfers have over 15 years experience between them, yet none of them have taken on a challenge as epic as this.

The journey will round about two and half tiring hours, their doing their part for charity- now you can do yours by donating to the 2010 charity kitesurf which will take part in September, the exact date will be varied nearer to the time as this event will be based on specific weather conditions. All money raised will go towards the charities, every penny counts and all donations big or small will be appreciated !

Kitesurfing Fanatic

BBR spent a day last week with the guys from Fanatic looking at their new range of surfboards. A nice range of boards will be available from the 2011 range, in a high gloss bamboo wood finish, and also in standard white. James was invited over to the Fanatic seaside ranch on the south coast where he was able to try the 2 boards from the range that will appeal to the majority of kitesurfers.

The 6′2″ gunn shaped board performs exactly as expected from first looks. An all-rounder shape designed for the recreational surfer with competitive spirit. Single-to-double concave bottom with mid-volume rails and performance rocker give reliable and nimble performance. Nice and reactive on the turns, still usable through the chop and good sensitivity to weight placement.

The round nose 6′6″ didn’t disappoint either. A floaty thruster fun from slop to fast surf, the board is stable, but still manoeverable mainting speed an excellent fun in the small waves and chop. Mega comfy when going out through the chop and inspires confidence in the gybes.

Both great boards for different conditions and abilities, allowing kitesurfers greater choice in the surfboard range.

BBR Rider takes 1st Place

Congratulations to BBR team rider Xan Woods who scooped 1st place in the am’s at Hunstanton last weekend, beating off the locals to claim Victory! Xan uses the North Vegas 2010 kites and Aboards kiteboards at the moment.
