Snow Mountain

Snow Mountain features a 400′ hill for tubing (complete with lifts to get you to the top) providing thrills for older kids and adults.  If you have children under 48″ tall, the Little Angels section is reserved just for them.  They have a mini hill for sliding and plenty of room to play.  If you get tuckered out, an observation platform still lets you see the action, or fire pits on Memorial Lawn provide a place to warm up and make S’mores.  Hurry and visit before March 7th when all of Stone Mountain’s snow will melt away.

Big Apple Circus

Running February 12-28, the Big Apple Circus will delight kids and adults of all ages.  Jugglers, trapeze artists, arialists, clowns and trained dogs form a show that will impress and cause spontaneous outbursts of laughter. All audience members get a close up view of the show:  this is a one ring circus, and no seat is more than 50 feet away.

Make it yourself

Take out food is greasy and expensive.  Sure it may taste good, but you can make the same items cheaper and healthier.  We want to stuff our faces, not have early heart attacks.  Several grocery chains have great sales on traditional game-day food.  While you’re doing the grocery shopping, be sure to pick up plenty of paper towels and trash bags. You don’t want to be overheated in the kitchen while your guests have all the fun.  Make things like crock-pot chili, dips and cut veggies and fruit in advance. By having everything ready the night before, you’ve ensured that both you and your guests will have a great time at your event.

Make it simple

You’ll want to have plenty of food, but this is not the time to flex your gourmet skills.  Toss some chicken tenders with hot sauce or make your own wings from the thousands of recipes on the web.  The simpler things are, the less frazzled you’ll feel.

Income limits for the tax credit have also increased. Single taxpayers with incomes up to $125,000 and married couples with a joint income of $250,000 are now eligible. If your income exceeds either of these limits by $20,000 or less you might be able to qualify for a partial tax credit.
