Fun to do and rewarding to teach, these syllabi help to develop children's physical skills, stamina, creativity, and expression and musicality using a range of sounds and musical styles.

Thoughts on Choosing Dance Shoes

Some Thoughts on Choosing Dance ShoesEvery profession, sport or leisure activity requires the proper tools and equipment in order to be successful. Dancing is no different. In the art of dancing, your tools are your shoes and the proper shoe is the key to a successful, rewarding and pleasurable dance experience.

Going to a professional and having yourself properly fitted is the most important step before endeavouring into any style of dance. Improperly fitting shoes will cause painful sores and blisters, pains in the calves and hips, as well as cause backaches and other aliments due to stress inflicted on the spine from a bad pair of shoes. In addition, the wrong type of shoe for choice of dance style is also a sure guarantee for failure.

Thankfully, there is an easy solution to this problem and it is called getting professionally fitted for the proper dance shoes suited to your particular style of dance. Once you have been fitted, you can always search the internet for the style of shoes you want. Popular Brand NamesBal Togs, Bloch, Body Wrapper, Capezio, Danshuz, Danskin, Eurotard and Freedom of London are all popular brands and have a fine history of offering quality dance shoes for men, women and children of every age, level and discipline.Ballet DancingAs a beginner ballet dancer you may wish to consider a soft, split sole, leather ballet shoe, also known as `flat ballet shoes` as your first choice.

They usually come in black or pink. With advancement in the discipline, you will move onto the more difficult pointe style of ballet, which will require a specially sized satin pointe shoe with a hard tip and straps that all you to dance on the tip of your toes. Lamb`s wool in the front of the shoe is a great comfort to the toes during the long hours of training required to master this beautiful art.

Tap DancingTap is a style that developed in America in the days of the minstrel shows and that steadily spread worldwide. This style of dance requires its own type of shoe. Most are manufactured of buffed, patent leather with smooth soles and a metal "tap" at the front that creates the signature sound associated with each step of this high-energy form of dance.Other Forms of DanceThe sultry style of modern dance requires a t-strap sole, full sole or the boot, which is the most popular style because of its form fitting neoprene construction and promises of comfort in movement.

Jazz on the other hand needs foot mittens, sandasols or the foot thong style of footwear. Then there is ballroom and its many wonderful off spring with the likes of the rhythmic salsa and the inspired ceroc style which has developed over two decades and is a delicious fusion of hip-hop, salsa and others. It is gaining wide popularity across Europe and beyond. All use a stylishly designed shoe with a moderate heel for woman and a standard oxford for men that have non-slip leather soles.

Conclusion Whether you dance as a hobby or profession always remember that the feet are the very foundation of your entire body and what footwear you choose is vital for success not only while dancing but in every day life as well.

http://www.borntodance.org.uk/

fitness articles
