I then traced a mail I got from helpdesk@boomdrs.com using the headers that were in the email, the ISP is TW Telecom located in Littleton Co.

As fake as those Boomerang Data Recovery Reviews

You can believe that the 1 stars are genuine because Boomerang Data Recovery is a overpriced ripoff. I challenge you to find your there phone number and address. It appears after they get a few bad reviews that they pump out some 4 star reviews to bring it back up. You will notice that there are clusters of 4 star reviews. The ratings are pretty easy to manipulate. One anonymous reader wrote in on how he created a bunch of fake accounts to bring down the rating a few stars, with fake 1 star reviews. However, in a couple of days a cluster of 4 star reviews suddenly appeared and voila, their rating came back up again.

If Boomerang does not respond to your repeated requests for service then do a Chargeback

BIG RED FLAG! Boomerang Data Recovery uses an anonymous company 1Cart to handle some of their credit card processing. If you visit the companies website you will find no contact information. Thats right a company that handles your credit card does not list there phone number, physical address, or email. They also have an anonymous domain name registration.

I have come across some possibly fake reviews most likely posted by the makers of Boomerang Data Recovery and VirtualLab. Have a look for yourself and you may come to the same conclusion.

harryrosetto only posted two reviews and they are both different versions of Boomerang Data Recovery

dawsongrey reviewed Boomerang Data Recovery, VirtualLab Data Recovery Software and an older version of VirtualLab Data Recovery all on the same day. Apparently, this guy bought all three versions of the software, yeah right!

What makes this even more suspicious is that Boomerang Data Recovery and VirtualLab Data Recovery are the same product, just rebranded.

New Boomerang Data Recovery complaint posted to Rip Off Report

This complaint against Boomerang Data Recovery is very similar to mine, shame on you Boomerang Data Recovery.

"I had used the Boomerang DRS software (v1.1.2) ONCE in July 2008, and never used it again. I was a little skeptical when I learned of it's phone home requirements for each and every restore, but I wasn't using the software outside of the agreed upon usage terms, so I didn't think much of it.

4 months after the one and only time I had used the software, I started getting emails from BoomDRS telling me that my account was banned for license violations. I contacted support 3 different times, each time explaining that someone elses account had been mixed up with mine, providing specific details that pointed out the mixup within their system.

There was one FAQ that stated that if you inquired about a banned license, it would be reviewed by an actual human, and that you would get a response outlining the reason. I was never given this courtesy, despite pointing out the FAQ article in one of my contact attempts with Support. Sadly, this FAQ article no longer exists on their site."

When you visit Boomerang Data Recovery at http://www.boomdrs.com, scan the pages for a contact link and you will not find one. Now, they do have a contact form buried in their support section. However, if you read the testimonials here, you will learn that they may never respond too your inquiry.

No contact information, this is a sign that Digital Frontiers the company behind Boomerang Data Recovery may not back up their sales. If you do not want your customers too contact you, then do you really deserve their money? I do not think so, as this is why you should move on.
