This is my cute cousin ZBoy. Whenever we are out, eating at a restaurant or riding in a public transportation almost all high school girls would noticed him and said... "Oh! he is so cute! Then they will asked Zboy, "Do you have a big brother?" Then Zboy will smile at them and says "No". Then the girls will jokingly tell him, "Can I wait for you when you grow up"? But this little kiddo didn't understand what the high school girl is trying to say.

Talking about this picture, I asked him to take a photo of my husband playing the guitar on stage, when he came back I checked on it whether he has taken the photo or not. I found out that there were two photos, one photo of my husband playing the guitar and the second photo is this. LOL! I wonder who took this photo. Maybe he asked somebody to take a picture of him. LOL!

Hubby loves downloading movies online. Just that sometimes the movie that he wanted to download is not available or if it’s available then it requires a certain payment for you download it. The Bus Ride

This is a bus owned by Del Monte Philippines, a popular pineapple company in the Philippines. This is the bus provided by the company to be used by their employees in going to their workplace particularly workers who are working in the pineapple field. When we attended my cousin's burial, the Del Monte (where his Father worked) lend this bus and other vehicles to be used for the burial. As you can see, there's nothing special about this bus but I was interested about it because it's the bus where Angel Locsin (local artist) rode when they shot the film "Love Me Again". LOL! So, me and my cousins took the time to take a photo of it.

Even though my eyes were swollen because of my cousin's burial my other cousins still insisted to take a photo of me beside the bus.

What Happened to Your Eyebrows?

I have a 5 year old student who always comes to class with a plucked eyebrows. At first, I thought she just accidentally played her mom's shaver. I always asked her, "what happened to your eyebrows?" she will just give me her sweet smile as her reply. Sometimes, I asked her, did you play with your mom's shaver?, then she will just nod and smile. I noticed that her eyebrows are being plucked regularly. That is why I was bothered a bit and thought of talking to her parents about it.

Last Wednesday, she celebrated her 5th birthday at school. Her mom and grandmother was there so I finally took the chance to talk to them about the child's eyebrows. By the way, she celebrated her birthday with no eyebrows at all. I asked her mom about it and she told me that it was also there problem because the child keeps on plucking her eyebrows especially when she's left alone in the house. They have tried a lot of strategies and reward system on helping her to overcome it but the child keeps on doing it. Hearing about the mom's story, I was a bit concerned about the child. I think there is a psychological implication about her behavior as what I have learned in my Psychology class before.

What I did, I browse over the internet and found out about Trichotillomania.It's a psychiatric condition in which an individual has an uncontrollable urge to pull out his or her own body hair. For people suffering from trichotillomania, hair pulling is more than a habit. It is rather a compulsive behavior, which the person finds very hard to stop.

People with trichotillomania pull their hair out of the root from places like the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, or even the pubic area. Some people even pull handfuls of hair, which can leave bald patches on the scalp or eyebrows. Other people pull out their hair one strand at a time. Some inspect the strands after pulling them out or play with the hair after it's been pulled. About half of people with this condition also have the habit of putting the plucked hair in mouth.

Until now, I'm a bit worried about my student but I am hoping that it isn't so serious like what I have found out. I am also praying that my student and her parents will be able to find out remedies on her behavior.

This photo was taken 20 years ago (most probably year 1989). I was one of the flower girls of my Auntie Nonette's wedding. Their wedding motif is color red that is why I am wearing a red ruffled dress. I was so happy during this time because this was the only event that I was given the opportunity to be one of the flower girls. :-)

Movie Nights with Hubby

Hubby and I love to watch movies during Friday nights. It is a day where we don’t worry about sleeping so late because there’s no work the following day. Before, we usually buy DVD’s but now hubby is into downloading movies online. Just that it takes a long time for one movie to download. Sometimes it would take hours or days just to get the movie of your choice. Downloading the movie is so time consuming as well as it consumes great amount of electricity at home. That is why we don’t usually do this often.

I just wish we have a Charter Digital here in the Philippines. Charter Digital has this On Demand service wherein you will have the opportunity to access 6,000 movies or shows for FREE. You can watch these movies or shows anytime at your own convenience, no more TV schedules. This is indeed great for busy people like me who don’t have time to buy DVDs nor download movies. On Demand is also great for busy moms with kids who are fond of cartoons like Dora or Spongebob.

This is my very first time to join "Then Sings My Soul Saturday". I have seen this meme a long time ago and finally I was now able to join. My entry for this week is a song from Passion (One Day Live CD) entitled "Grace Flows Down". An American friend shared this song to me and since that day I was in love with the song. I also love the melody and the lyrics of the song. It reminds me of God's abounding grace in our lives.

I am very busy right now because of our school activity tomorrow - UN Day 2009. We had our general practice this morning and later this afternoon we went to buy prizes and materials for decoration. We plan to decorate the venue today but we didn't do it anymore because we were already very tired. Added to that we still have little things that needs to be done. We'll just do it tomorrow morning.

Aside from that, I am also preparing the program for our church activity this coming Sunday. I am also tasked to buy birthday tokens for October birthday celebrants. Whew!Thinking about these things makes me worry sometimes, but God reminded me that I will have to do things one step at a time...

This is one of Greg Laurie's devotionals which I happened to read today. I find this article a great reminder for all of us to reach others. So, here it is... hope you will be encouraged.

"So I sent for you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here, waiting before God to hear the message the Lord has given you."

Acts 10 records the story of a man named Cornelius, a centurion who lived in Caesarea. Caesarea was a Roman outpost in Israel, named after Caesar. As a Roman military officer who commanded a group of 100 soldiers, Cornelius would have been taught to worship the gods of Rome that mostly were from Greece, which Rome conquered. He also would have been taught to worship Caesar as a god. Yet this worship apparently left Cornelius feeling empty.

Being around the Jewish people all the time, maybe he thought, You know, I believe they are worshiping the true God. So he started giving money to the poor, and he started praying to the God of Israel. Even though he was a non-Jew, he called out to their God. God will reveal Himself to the true seeker (see Jeremiah 29:13), and because Cornelius was truly seeking God, He sent an angel to tell him to summon Peter, who would have a message for him.

But the angel didn't cut to the chase and say, "Hey, Cornelius! You need to believe in Jesus, who died and rose again." Why not give him the gospel right then and there? Because the primary way that God reaches people is through people. Romans 10:14 says, "But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?"

Peter was the man whom God wanted to use to reach Cornelius. God wanted Cornelius to be saved, and He also wanted to use the conversion of Cornelius, a Gentile, to open Peter's eyes to the fact that there is a big world out there that needs to hear the gospel.

This is a line from a song which I've learned when I was still in high school. This song reminds me of the fact that we can’t live without others. Added to that, it is our responsibility to care for them in every way we can.

When I was still a little girl, I thought I am caring enough for others because I don’t have problems with anybody else. I thought I do care enough about my family when I obey everything they want me to do. I thought I am more caring with my friends because I share to them my toys. But when I grew older, I began to realize that there are more meaningful expressions of caring for my family and friends. I have learned that when I care for others in a more truthful and meaningful way, our relationship is being strengthened and it will have a positive effect in almost all aspect of our lives. So, this is how I show care my family, friends and other people.

1. PRAY FOR THEM.

This is one gesture that it is not so visible but this is one very important thing that I do for others. Why? It is because some people are not lovable; some people don’t deserve to be cared for. This time we need the hand of God to change our hearts as well as the heart of our family and friends. When we pray, God changes everything so that it will be easy for us to care for others.

2. GIVE

-Giving is one of the most convincing acts of showing that you care. There are many ways that you can give to others. Give to them what they like and the things that matters to them.

- Give them hugs, kisses, a massage, a tickle… any physical act that you think beneficial to them

- Give to them your most valued asset … your TIME. Spend quality time with others by talking to them, listening to them and by just being there. Giving involves being able to do sacrifices. Honestly, this is one of the hardest things I have done for this week. I have lots of pending tasks because I have to accompany my mom in law in the hospital. Even though it was hard but I still I made it because I care.

3. SPEAK WORDS of KINDNESS

This includes words of comfort, appreciation and compliments. I usually let my family and friends know that I care for them through words of kindness. Words like “I love you”… “ Take Care”… “You’re beautiful”… You look good on your dress… or You look good on your hair”, “You’re a fast learner!”, “You’re good, Keep it up!” …everything in them that needs to be appreciated. By expressing these, you show to your loved ones that they mean so much to you because you noticed them.

4. SURPRISE them.

Some people don’t like surprises but I tell you they just say that because they don’t want you to see them cry when they’re surprised. Anyway, this is one of the things I love doing. It isn’t something grand but I usually see to it that it has an impact to the other person. I always surprise my hubby during special occasions and sometimes on ordinary days. One of the things that surprise him is when I just placed something (a gift, food and etc.) in his car.

Another thing, last year I went to my mom’s house and I did a bedroom makeover. I cleaned and arranged her bedroom and changed her old beddings with a new one. When she came home she was surprised and called me if I was the one who did it. I just laughed.

5. REMEMBER

- Remember special occasions especially birthdays. It always feels good to me when somebody remembers my birthday (that is on Nov.25 LOL!). That is why I also try to make it a point that I don’t forget birthdays and other special events.

- Remember NAMES… this is very applicable in dealing with friends and other people. I am not really good at names but now I am trying very hard to this to show others that I am really sincere about them.

6. ACCEPT

Accepting other people in the way they are. Not everyone is perfect. We all have our flaws and all we need to do is to accept everyone’s limitation. Sometimes it’s very hard to do this, but I just put it in mind that when I chose to care for this person it involves accepting all of him including his limitations. Just let others be themselves…

Who's that little girl? Well that's me when I was still six years old. This photo was taken during my graduation in kindergarten in the year 1985. It was supposed to be a happy day for me because I was the valedictorian and had received so many awards. But I wasn't feeling very well that day because of asthma. Look at my face... looks like I'm gasping. Isn't it? Anyway, I find my red earrings cute. (LOL!)

Halloween Costumes

While we were in Manila, Hubby and I had the opportunity to stroll around different malls in Manila. It was a Friday and there were lots of entertainment going on around each malls. One of the things that caught the customer’s attention was the group of people who wore different Halloween costumes. Everyone wanted to take a photo of them and that includes us. Below are our photos.

Vampire Costume (the man wearing the costume is truly a best actor..LOL!)

Elf Costume - I am not really sure about his costume but his shoes looks like
an elf so maybe that's what is ...
Alien Costume - You can't see the real color of his eyes. It turns blue when someone comes near to him. At first we thought he's isn't real because he was not moving,
but when crowds tried to hold him he moved.

A Nice Cold Shower

When someone is having difficulty in trying to solve problems, oftentimes a nice cold shower would be a great help. It somehow relaxes our minds and helps us to think better. It also helps us gives a fresh view of how things are going on. Sometimes, a nice bathroom would help as it will provide you with a calm environment while bathing. It would be nice to have a bathroom that has all the Bathroom Vanities available, just like this shower column on the photo. It looks very stylish and very unique. Of course, a nice bathroom would be costly but if you have the money then go for it.

My Favorite Food

"Grilled pork" is one of my favorite food. I like it very much especially if I have to eat it with hot rice. This is Yummy but I am controlling my intake as this is not so good for the body but most of the time I can't. LOL! I like this even better when it is paired with a green leafy vegetable. Oh, I just love it...
