Hamann, one of Germany’s premier tuners, has put together a package for the BMW 5 Series GT that actually accomplishes its goals relatively successfully. While I don’t regard the GT as a sporty vehicle, the aero additions do lend it a certain air of aggression, especially in the black color scheme chosen for the photo shoot. I’m almost tempted to think it would look better without the tinting, however.

So, what have the guys at Hamann cooked up? First, they dropped the car so it looks less like a lowered X6 and more like a true sports sedan, followed by a full package consisting of front & rear spoilers, a new rear apron, as well as side skirts. While I realize that the boot spoiler is a bit of a Hamann trademark, it’s actually the only piece of the exterior package with I’m not sold on. It looks a bit too boy racer for the vehicle, in my eyes.

Wheels (Anniversary Evo) are upsized to 22″ (9.0 x 22 for the front and 10.5 x 22 in he rear, to be exact), and are well executed. Engine wise, the company appears to be focused on the diesel-powered 530, upping the output from 245 PS (180 kW) to 275 PS (202 kW) and torque from 540 Nm to 620 Nm at 1750 RPM. a four-port stainless exhaust is also available. Obviously this things has some scoot to back up its appearance! Some interior details such as pedals and foot mats cap off the offering.

HAMANN turns BMW 5 series Gran Turismo into top-class crossover between SUV and limousine
HAMANN Motorsport has given the current BMW 5 Gran Turismo a significantly more dynamic appearance and turned the crossover between a comfortably spacious SUV and an elegant limousine into one of the most exclusive multi-purpose vehicles in the luxury class. The HAMANN motor specialists have developed a powerful performance gain from 245 PS (180 kW) to 275 PS (202 kW) for the 5 series GT 530d. The torque, an even more important factor when it comes to driving pleasure, simultaneously increases from 540 Nm to an impressive 620 Nm at 1750 RPM. Thanks to HAMANN Motorsport, the 5 series Gran Turismo 530d, whose performance is enhanced due to optimisation of the engine characteristics by means of reprogramming of the series Motronic, boasts 20 Nm more torque than the standard 535d, and that for only a fraction of the surcharge actually due.

Befitting its image, the modified Gran Turismo boasts gigantic 22-inch tyres: The elegantly styled HAMANN alloy wheel ANNIVERSARY EVO has been specially developed for the requirements of heavyweight, truly massive vehicles. In line with HAMANN’s philosophy on modifications, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the use of special aluminium alloy ensure maximum load capacities at low weight. HAMANNANNIVERSARY EVO designer wheels for the BMW 5 Gran Turismo are available in the sizes 9.0 x 22 for the front and 10.5 x 22 for the back. Wide-base tyres are fitted front (265/30ZR22 and back (295/25ZR22).

While I’m sure the costs involved will be significant, nothing screams pedigree like a truly brand new vintage BMW. In addition, BMW Group Classic revealed that they will offer factory assistance to vintage racers through a newly created Motorsport division. Yep, you can now get your fully restored 3.0CSL and have it factory prepped for vintage racing! Or, should you now be made of greenbacks, you can at least buy some cool vintage tuning bits to make you feel like you’re about to go airborne over Flugplatz. Of note as well: it appears this support will even extend to BMW Motorcylces as well as the vintage Mini which, if I’m not mistaken, is BMW’s first official support of Rover’s former baby.

I’m sure enthusiasts are rifling through couch cushions around the world at this exact minute to scrape together every last bit of spare change.

Exclusive Sneak Peek of the BMW X6M by Vorsteiner

With BMW’s commencement into the SUV market with its X series comes Vorsteiner’s debut of the design of the BMW X6M VRS Aero Package. As with every quality Vorsteiner product, the X6M Aero Package will be composed of resin pre-impregnated, vacuum-formed carbon fiber, utilized by a state-of-the-art aerospace autoclave system. This results in an up to 30% stiffer and stronger structure when compared to an equivalent wet-lay product.

Making use of the grandeur of the X6M, our VRS Roof Spoiler further adds to the form and function of the vehicle, accenting the roof and rear windshield while improving airflow over the top and behind the vehicle. With the growing popularity of the factory M-Tech aero packages amongst standard order cars, an all-new V-MS (Vorsteiner M-Tech Series) collection has been developed for our distinct group of M-Tech car owners worldwide.

The V-MS Aero package is designed to be simple and easily installed onto the factory bumpers to enhance the performance and sportiness of the existing factory M-Tech package.

The V-MS Aero package is currently available for the BMW E92 Coupe and E93 Cabriolet models and the E90 Sedan models are currently under development, slated to release mid 2010.

Up front, the V-MS coupe shows off a functionally designed 2-piece front add-on splitters constructed of pre-preg autoclave carbon fiber. The V-MS 2-piece front splitters slightly extends the profile of the factory front bumper to further aid in down force while adding a stylish sporty element to the front end. The outer surrounding areas of the splitters are designed to be painted to give an integrated and clean factory look while the exposed carbon fiber areas pay homage to the racing heritage.

The rear bumper is complemented with a totally redesigned replacement carbon fiber rear diffuser that simply attaches to the factory mounting points. The new sporty carbon fiber rear diffuser houses a centrally placed exhaust ventilation opening which aids in cooling the exhaust system. The diffuser also has 2 integrated aero fins placed next to the air vent to improve airflow and downforce.

Optional items not illustrated in our demonstration vehicle are a carbon fiber deck lid spoiler and 19″ & 20″ forged 3-Piece and 1-Piece Monoblock wheels.

Let’s face it, in the history of BMW there has been no better BMW 3 series convertible, besides the M3. If you like to drive fast and topless, here you are seated just right. The dual turbo six-cylinder car from ATT out of Rastatt convinces primarily through its increased engine power to spectacular 362 hp and 536 Nm.

The tuner offers two power enhancements. At power level I (2.355,00 Euro) the 335i achieves  345 hp and 481 Nm by the use of an additional controller. At power level II (4.130,00 Euro) the bi turbo achieves entire 362 hp and 526 Nm – therefore accountable is not just the additional controller but also the stainless steel sport exhaust system, which adds to the ideal output effect.

Big ATT TEC LeMans 20” wheels emphazise the futuristic appearance of the ambitious athlete. The aluminum rims in the dimension 8,5×20” and 10×20” with high performance tires from Michelin “Pilot Sport 2” size 245/30 ZR20 and 285/25 ZR20 are worth 3.475,00 Euro, mounting and balancing included.

New in the range are the design fender in M3-optics. For 1.843,00 Euro you can get these from ATT already with original M3-louver, boxes, mounting accessories and LED blinker. For additional 597,00 Euro the fender can be ordered in Rastatt in car body color.

Do you need a true-bred sports car for a spectacular appearance? By no means! With this unique sports limousine CLR 730 RS LUMMA Design, basic vehicle BMW M5 E60,  benches many sport cars. Ten cylinders, bi compressor engine, 730 hp and 700 Nm. Is there any room for improvement? Definitely not! The new LCR 730 RS from LUMMA Design is a commitment to racing. But also concerning style and luxury the CLR 730 RS goes strong.

Aerodynamics is of elementary importance to get a more then 360 km/h maximum speed. The body of the BMW M5 is improved with ultra light but extremely compact carbon components. The LUMMA Bodykit “CLR 730 RS” consist of a hood, a trunk lid with integrated tearing edge, mirror caps, door handles, entrance strips and fenders – all made of carbon.

The LUMMA chassis brings true racing technology on the street. The sport suspension is multiple adjustable on both axles in bound and rebound and lowering the car up to 45 mm.

Extra light and forged wheels were produced for the ultra broad track. On the front axle are LUMMA Racing rims in 10×21” with tires size 255/30-21, on the rear axle 12Jx21 with tires from Michelin size 295/25-21. The wheelwork is three piece crafted, the rim star is forged, and dull black anodized and has stainless steel outer rims.

Because of the combination of lightweight, enormous engine power and innovative aerodynamics the LUMMA CLR 730 RS from Winterlingen achieves acceleration times which were so far only subject to true race cars. The 730 hp V10 bi-compressor engine obstructed from G-power is the most powerful engine that has ever been obstructed into a road-legal BMW. Off the top off one’s head the car catapults itself within 4.2 seconds up to speed 100. After 10 seconds the sport limousine has already doubled the speed. After 29.5 seconds the car achieves 300 km/h. Top speed is at 367,4 km/h. This power explosion is traced back to the core of the G-Power compressor system, the ASA radial compressor. Also used is a LUMMA sport exhaust system with 100 cells racing catalysts and 105 mm end pipes made of stainless steel and engraved LUMMA logo.

Of course LUMMA Design does not count on the original brake system. Also at this the best just isn’t good enough. LUMMA Design obstructed a 6-pistons (rear axle 4-pistons) brake system, which affects on the front- and rear axle on a drilled brake disc dimension 405 mm (380 mm).

The cockpit of the CLR 730 RS unites a pure racing look in a combination of carbon, leather and Ultra suede with the comfort that is nowadays expected from a luxury sport car. The comfort features are: a bicolor complete leather interior in red/white with stitched diamond patterns and white fancy seems. The Ultra suede improvement includes the dashboard, the seat consoles and the coverages. All panels on the dashboard and the center console, the transmission control, the steering wheel, the hand brake lever and the backside of the sport seats are beautified with carbon. Finally everything is completed by suede car mats edged with leather, a trunk mat and sporty aluminum pedals and a footrest.
