The film is a sci-fi action piece based on the work of James O’Barr creator of the Crow, and made with his permission.

The film was shot on the RED using Lomo Anamorphic Lens over a weekend. Sam ransom the ten year old boy who plays Jonny Z, the films hero, notably performed all his own stunts including the fire breathing and wire-work, some of which is showcased in the Teaser.

The music used in the teaser, was also very generously recorded for the film by Nick Oliveri and Dave Grohl my sincerest thanks guys.

The new Tablet from Apple is called the IPad.
It runs all IPhone applications, the battery is supposed to last 10hours and about a month on standby. No word on price yet.

Inside The Making Of Avatar Video

A new 23-minute making-of video for James Cameron’s Avatar has gone live online, with a full look at the creation of the epic hit movie, below.

“Creating the World of Pandora”—now on Yahoo!—compiles what we know about the production of the award-winning film in one video, which we expect will be an extra on the eventual Blu-ray/DVD.

The video takes a close look at the designs, landscapes, creatures, military hardware, sets and costumes in the film; casting decisions; and the secrets behind the 3-D motion and performance capture, which required a surprising amount of physical performance from the movie’s stars (not to mention learning the fictional Na’vi language).

We also learn a lot about the tech Cameron used, including his innovative “virtual camera” system and his 3-D digital camera rigs.

The video includes ample interviews with Cameron, producer Jon Landau, members of Cameron’s creative crew and cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver.

It’s also nice to see the late Stan Winston, if only briefly.

Avatar 2 confirmed by James Cameron

After four weeks in theaters, “Avatar” has already made $1.131.8 billion dollars in worldwide gross, with $374 million of that coming from domestic ticket sales alone. It is pretty much printing money and is now the most successful Sci-Fi movie in history, a sequel is likely a good bet. James Cameron himself last night at the Arclight theatre in L.A. in yet another screening for “Avatar” confirmed it. There was a Q&A after with James and a couple of effects guys. James Cameron officially gives us notice with the quote:

Yes, there’ll be another.
