Kevin Ryan, the whistleblower from Underwriters Laboratories, did his own brief statistical analysis in a recent letter regarding the NIST report, arguing that probabilities of collapse-initiation needed to be calculated (Ryan, 2005). NIST nowhere provides such a likelihood analysis for their non-explosive collapse model. Ryan's estimate is that the probability that fires and damage (the "official theory") could cause the Towers complete collapse is less than one in a trillion, and the probability is much less still when the complete collapse of WTC7 is included (Ryan, 2005). Nor does NIST (or FEMA or the 9-11 Commission) even mention the molten metals found in the basements of all three buildings (WTC 1, 2 and 7).

So where does that leave us? I strongly agree with Kevin Ryan,

This ["official"] story just does not add up.... That fact should be of great concern to all Americans.... There is no question that the events of 9/11 are the emotional driving force behind the War on Terror. And the issue of the WTC collapse is at the crux of the story of 9/11. became an anthem for my young rebelliousness. i walked the halls of high school with a walkman blaring the beatles red and blue albums; a not so subtle armor against the cruelty of those years

later a magickal mentor would ask, while we interviewed genesis p-orridge of psycic tv, what he thought of john’s murder…john dark had been on the radio that night at kpft in houston. he heard the ticker going off upstairs in the news room…it continued it’s rat-atat-tatting for an inordinate time. when he went upstairs to see what was happening, he discovered the news of john’s death. at that moment the phone rang, it was the station manager, who told him he had just heard the news, and was authorizing him to play any song in the lennon catalog. my friend went down to the turntables, announced the horrible news, and played working class hero. genesis’ answer to his query, "it comes with the territory" – meaning that if you are willing to stand up and speak truth to power, you have to be prepared to be blown down. lennon knew this, "if i ain't dead already, girl you know the reason why." chapman was a patsy as much as oswald, and do we really need a movie about him?

years have gone by and john is still as powerful an inspiration as he was then. his image, for some, carries the same power as images of che. his lyrics are still as vital today as they were when they were written

keep you doped with religion and sex and tv,
and you think you're so clever and classless and free,
but you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see,

the world is still full of fucking peasants – "living is easy with eyes closed”. some of us are still in the streets calling for revolution with the words "power to the people". many of us are still dreaming a world where there are no countries and no religion too, nothing to die for, someday the peasants will join us...imagine.

old time relijun at the voodoo

wo man wo man wo man. i just love live music. nothin' (ok well almost nothin'...) puts a smile on my face like watchin' musicians groove. my ass just wantsta move as the vibrations run through my body. i just beam when the vibe is good, and the musicians can see it too.
last night, i went down to the local hipster haunt called after an african religious tradition transplanted in caribbean soil and watched some olympians get get get down. a three piece called old time relijun, touring on their newest release 2012. and wo man were they on. i absolutely loved arrington's comment (guitar and voacals) about being kinda a dance band (not like any dance band you ever heard...lessin' you listen to some riteous weird tunes) and that you should get up if the music moves you; otherwise, you can sit there like you are watchin' a movie.
reminds me of a comment that was made at the fifth anniversary ladyfest in olympia last weekend...it all started there and like another olympia institution procession of species it has gone worldwide...no lie. the comment was made about how the music scene in olympia encourages interaction of all kinds, from singing along, to clappin', stompin' with the rhythm section, to shakin' yo ass. and wo man was the gossip fuckin' on fire, von iva was pretty damn hot too. but then the whole scene made me feel like i was home again. i miss oly fiercely, like my friend wardog said, "this is the spiritual capital of cascadia."
music, especially live music is a participatory event, not some spectator sport. when i first arrived in cascadia (pacific northwest for you non-bioregionalists), i was struck by the lack of dancing at concerts in seattle. people just sort of milled about or sat in their seats. it didn't seem any where near as lively as some of the shows i had been to in houston...one particularly good show by bad mutha goose and the brothers grimm at the axiom where it was sooo hot and sweaty (the music, not the temp) i was up on a stack of pa's just movin' and groovin'. that was one blissful night of delicious music.
when i saw kíla recently in eugene, i had seats really close to the stage. there was an area in front of the stage that was perfect for dancin'... and well their music is ripe for a good ass shakin'. my friends and i and many others danced during the first set. we were approached by a staff member and told we could dance but we would have to do it in a wing off to the right of the stage. now i had paid good money for these tix, and where i was sittin' was certainly far better than where i was being asked to dance. we asked the people in the front row if they were bothered by our dancing. they said no. but we were told we either had to dance stageleft or ask the band to let us dance on stage.
now as an old theater student this was just taboo. it would detract attention from the musicians. we asked rónán (bodhran, percussion and vocals) if we could dance on stage, he said he didn't mind us dancin' in front, and that the band said it was ok. checked with the staff. no dice. well we ended up dancin' on stage. much to my chagrin. it was a lovely night and the band appreciated our contribution. although you could tell they thought it odd to have all these yanks shakin' and twitchin' on the stage with them. needless to say i will never go see a show in that venue again.
so next time you are out and about and hear sweet music coming from some bar or dance hall. stick your head in, if the band is on and the groove takes you...get your ass on the dance floor (no parking mind ya!) and show the musicians that you can feel the music in your body and are moved by it. like rumi says the voice in your ear is pounding on your ear drum, is this not intimate?

in response

a response to a fellow d.s. "summer's ready, when you are," kelly and kim screamed in my ear as i drove home from work to two hungry cats and one empty fridge. summer is ready...and i am too.

the sunset was brilliant; the corpuscular light spilled out from behind a cloud, as the nuclear inferno dipped towards the ocean, not its ocean. this day is done. good night moon - i would light you a candle, but there is no wax to drip round about here ways. adieu.

H.E.A.D. for hedonism

oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah. i did it. come next month my voice will be broadcast through the airwaves round about the northwest coast of oregon and southwest washington. whatever! you can’t put the genie back in the bottle, pandora’s box don’t close once the latch is busted.

now don’t take this as some grief i got to grind with george over jar’rastastereotype’jar, but, all said, george ‘i wish I could recreate american grafitti’ lucas is a hack – like steven king, or piers anthony. there was absolutely nothing new in this film. no suprises, and certainly no insight into the force for us seekers. i mean how many space battles can we see the boys fly through before we say enough already? and what happened to all the cool models that made the first 3 (last 3, whatever!) so harry hausen like? this is so full of cgi it is cluttered like a frat boys kitchen sink waitin’ on somebody to do the dishes. i mean the choreography was nice and i been waiting for that “lazer sword” (please!) duel by the lava pit since way back then starlog time.

and by hack, i mean how much mileage can you get out of the dark ‘wish i was readin’ milton’ christ schtick? i mean the “there’s good in him” is just so much foreshadowing for the saving of the son by the father. blood being thicker than apprenticeship, atleast in the west that is. and gods the dialogue. my eight year’s old school play had better lines in it … and more surprises too. and another thing the only moment in the entire second (first, alright already lightsaber wielding geeks) series of films that even felt like a ‘star wars’ film was when padhme got her ‘leia’ on in the arena and saved the boys (and yes here he was being a hack again!). don’t get me wrong she has the only memorable line in the whole damn film, but she was just so much window dressing for his ‘titanic in space’ sequences. i mean come on “this is the happiest day of my life” good gods is that sap.

the one redeeming factor about this eye-candy fest (which is worth seeing on the big screen for nothing else but it is purdy) is the topical nature of this story. imperialism and the drive for greater power being something us merikans is sufferin through right now. i mean, we get to see and hear the jack-booted thugs marching to the jedi temple – nice touch. and the calm and quiet of his ‘turn to the dark side’ scenes were well done. the aforementioned line is so poignant i cannot help but quote it ad nauseum “this is how liberty dies, to the sound of thunderous applause.” but enough already read between the lines on that one and let us not go quietly into that dark night. to hell with exile we must not fail in this one. rise already!

keep the bushit crew from making profits off death

alright now...if you are gonna buy gas, then speak with your pocketbooks and stop the bushits from puttin' more profits in their and their cronies' pockets (makin' money for resident bush and all the friends of resident bush to update the dead kennedy's 'we've got a bigger problem now'). support chavez and venezuela, and show the neo-cons that we don't want no holy war expansionism in the middle-east. buy citgo gas and send a message to the petroheads drivin' this big 'ol suv country, and the rest of the world for that matter, towards global apocalyptic mayhem. ya basta. viva la revolution!

join the buy-cott

finally a decent pie in the sunset empire

after many attempts to find a decent pizza in this town, we went to the local hipster hangout tied to a second run movie theater and tried their fare. as i was told by secret conspirators to remain unnamed, this little theater not only has the best pie in town, but you can drink a winkydrinky on the balcony while you watch a long-haired wolverine sans claws battle a far too eurosuave dracula. the couches at the back were comfortable and the pie didn't dissapoint. too bad the movie was as mediocre as john stewart's coverage of the dems conventionalness. but herein is the end as i cannot tarry longer upon such, as the quarry whistle blows a flintstones tune.
