Recent studies find that carpets may be helpful in keeping allergens out of the air, reports SMART Carpet. SMART Carpet keeps up with carpet-related research and when it comes to the health of SMART Carpet customers, the findings are of special interest.

In a 2008 report by Mitchell W. Sauerhoff, PhD, a full copy of which can be found at FlooringSciences.org, the findings — that carpet is not an asthma or allergy trigger — were actually of no surprise to the SMART Carpet founder or to the SMART Carpet sales staff.

After all, SMART Carpet has installed more than sixty-five million square feet of flooring to over 100,000 SMART Carpet customers throughout New Jersey, Staten Island and eastern Pennsylvania in the past 15 years, and never had a complaint about allergies or asthma. It’s not only the SMART Carpet customers who would have spoken up but the entire SMART Carpet team would have been affected as well.

In fact, in Dr. Sauerhoff’s report, statistics indicated that of the almost 20,000 people studied in 18 countries, those with carpeting in their bedrooms had fewer asthma symptoms than those without. Mattresses and other pieces of furniture seem to be the problem.

It seems that if there are any dust mites and other irritants in carpets, the amounts are extremely low and the emission duration time is short, findings with which SMART Carpet staff would agree based upon their own experiences. Furthermore, carpets appear to act like air filters, by trapping airborne irritants. In other words, not only are carpets not a cause of asthma or allergy – they also help clean the air.

SMART Carpet customers have long been advised to have their carpets regularly steam cleaned by professionals. With this new information about carpets acting as air filters, that SMART Carpet recommendation seems even wiser. Not only will carpet, whether it’s from SMART Carpet or another company, last longer and look better, its ability to freshen the air will also be improved.

Now that homeowners know carpets can help keep their families healthier, the decision to invest in quality carpets is made that much easier. With SMART Carpet prices at up to 50 percent off typical store prices and the SMART Carpet free installation offered on a large group of select quality products, smart carpet buyers also know where to buy.

Most dentists, like Dr. Eric Siani DMD of Palmdale, California, tell their patients to refrain from sugary snacks between meals. However, it’s not just sugar-loaded snacks like candies and chocolates that cause tooth decay, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD. Sweeteners like fructose and honey react in the mouth like sugars and even starchy snacks like potato chips break down into sugars once ingested.

According to Dr. Eric Siani DMD, the problem with sugars is that they turn into enamel-eating acids once they mix with bacteria in the mouth. Once that protective layer of enamel is dissolved from the teeth, cavities start. Obviously, Dr. Eric Siani DMD points out, the less sugar a person eats, the less enamel-eating acid is produced.

There are many choices of snacks, and some are healthier than others for teeth, continues Dr. Eric Siani DMD. For example, the faster a snack is swallowed, the less time the teeth are bathed in sugar. That means, Dr. Eric Siani DMD explains, that a chewy candy is more harmful than one that is chomped on and swallowed quickly.

Frequent snacking is also a healthy mouth no-no, asserts Dr. Eric Siani DMD. Acids eat away at tooth enamel for a minimum of 20 minutes before becoming harmless. Obviously, says Dr. Eric Siani DMD, the more sugary snacks that are consumed throughout the day, the more erosion of protective tooth enamel takes place.

Dr. Eric Siani DMD recommends that when having a snack, at the very least the mouth should be swished out with water. If possible, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD, it’s better to brush the teeth with fluoride toothpaste. Better snacks for teeth are those that are better for the whole body, Dr. Eric Siani DMD points out. They include raw veggies and fruits as well as whole-grain bread and nuts.

Another tooth-loving snack according to Dr. Eric Siani DMD is cheese, which studies show may protect against cavities. Not only does the dairy product have calcium, but it also neutralizes the acid produced in the mouth every time you eat. Sugarless gum is another tooth-healthy chomp, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD, producing saliva that acts as a mouth rinse and acid neutralizer.

The future of powerful marketing, says Fantich Media Group, is in the creative energy of small, dedicated advertising agencies. Fantich Media Group has observed that Internet commerce has fostered an increasingly decentralized market environment. Successful marketing in today’s economy, adds Fantich Media Group, is just as likely to come from small boutique operations than it is to come from large old guard advertising agencies.

Some of the most successful marketing campaigns of the past decade, continues Fantich Media Group, have come from small agencies with innovative ideas. This new generation of small, specialized agencies, says Fantich Media Group, are not bogged down by needless overhead and bloated client lists. The power of effective advertising comes from fresh ideas, says Fantich Media Group, not from overfed executives that rely on teams of lawyers. The emerging generation of small ad agencies, says Fantich Media Group, connect their clients directly to their creative minds.

Fantich Media Group explains that close collaboration between clients and the creative minds that produce ads makes for a campaign that fills the needs of the client while reaching as many potential customers as possible. Small ad agencies made up of enterprising, motivated professionals, says Fantich Media Group, have their fingers on the pulse of the consumer population. They know what consumers are responsive to, adds Fantich Media Group, because they do extensive market research.

Agencies that have a short, dedicated client list, says Fantich Media Group, are more connected and more productive. Fantich Media Group explains that some large ad agencies tend to overextend themselves for the sake of economic growth. While this sounds laudable, says Fantich Media Group, it often leads to a lessening of creativity and cookie cutter marketing campaigns. Selective boutique marketing firms like Fantich Media Group do everything to stay in tune with their clients and produce cutting edge advertising that reaches consumers on as many levels as possible.

Fantich Media Group urges any business that is searching for a marketing firm to resist the “package of the day.” Look past the glitz of large firms, says Fantich Media Group, and find a smaller agency made up of a select group of talented professionals. These smaller agencies, concludes Fantich Media Group, will do a more effective and personal job of representing their clients’ interests in the ever-changing market.

The economy today is unsure and the advertising industry has to work harder than ever to earn their keep. Marc Fantich knows this firsthand, having worked in advertising for more than a few years. Marc Fantich has seen lots of mistakes, from big to small, but there is one thing that stands out as the worst in his mind. This mistake is brutal but most companies don’t even realize it, says Marc Fantich. It seems harmless but often causes more harm than good.

Marc Fantich says that the biggest mistake companies make when they advertise is this: they buy from the prettiest girl selling the spots. Marc Fantich has seen this happen plenty of times to know just how much it can hurt a company. This is just another marketing ploy, opines Marc Fantich.

Radio and TV stations learned long ago that men run most companies, according to Marc Fantich. Although this is changing, he adds, by and large most business executives remain male. And most men find it hard to say “no” to an attractive woman.

Marc Fantich continues that he has seen this over and over. Oftentimes companies without ad agencies just don’t know what they’re doing. These companies need guidance from someone who knows the business, says Marc Fantich. If people without the experience are making the decisions, they end up down a river without a paddle. Marc Fantich says that executives without knowledge of the industry will tend to buy from the pretty girl in the skirt. If there’s one thing Marc Fantich wants companies that are considering the purchase of advertising to remember, it’s to think twice before buying the “package of the day” from the pretty sales girl.

Consumers are under pressure to use less energy, says Neil G. Pansey. As an electrical engineer, Neil G. Pansey knows how important fuel-efficient cars are to conserving power. These vehicles are constructed not only to save drivers money, but also for the purpose of saving fuel. Neil G. Pansey explains that engineers today are looking for ways to make all new cars more efficient.

When choosing a fuel-efficient car, look at the miles per gallon (mpg) rating, explains Neil G. Pansey. A buyer should be able to view the mpg for both city and highway. The most highly rated car of this type on the market today is the Toyota Prius, says Neil G. Pansey. The car has been engineered well to get about 50 miles per gallon, according to Neil G. Pansey. This is important because the car can run for longer periods of time using less nonrenewable energy, details Neil G. Pansey.

There are many different classes of cars that are said to be fuel-efficient, says Neil G. Pansey. Two-seaters are always given ratings because of their popularity. The reigning leader is the tiny SmartCar, says Neil G. Pansey. For compact cars, the Honda Civic Hybrid is considered best. Neil G. Pansey points out that hybrids are efficient because they are easy on the environment.

Some drivers back away from fuel-efficient cars because they want higher luxury. There’s nothing wrong with that, says Neil G. Pansey. Just be sure to look at mpg and safety ratings to make sure that the final selling price is a good deal. Neil G. Pansey continues that many fuel-efficient cars can be quite luxurious, like certain Audis.

Fuel-efficient automobiles are important in today’s world because of the fast-paced growth, explains Neil G. Pansey. Not only humans, but also the economy is growing quickly, according to Neil G. Pansey. Drivers who want to help secure a sturdy future for power supply should consider fuel-efficient vehicles, concludes Neil G. Pansey.

Chef Ben Vaughn encourages locals and visitors alike to pay a visit to Au Fond Farmtable next time they are in Midtown Memphis. The warm, relaxed atmosphere of Au Fond Farmtable, adds Chef Ben Vaughn, coupled with the southern comfort food menu make for a great place to spend a Memphis morning. Chef Ben Vaughn knows that whenever a new eatery opens up, interested readers want to know about the menu. Chef Ben Vaughn describes Au Fond Farmtable’s menu as authentic southern comfort food incorporating French cooking techniques like those used in Creole cuisine. Here, Chef Ben Vaughn describes a few of the highlights of Au Fond Farmtable’s offerings.

Southern comfort food is impossible, says Chef Ben Vaughn, without shrimp and grits. Au Fond Farmtable prepares an authentic and delicious shrimp and grits. Chef Ben Vaughn starts with coarse ground Anson Mills grits. The grits are cooked thick and creamy, topped with sharp Beemster cheese and a dollop of butter. The rich grits are then smothered with sautéed shrimp in a tasty sherry sauce, continues Chef Ben Vaughn, and garnished with a bit of crabmeat.

Chef Ben Vaughn knows that every southerner recognizes a good plate of pork and beans. At Au Fond Farmtable, Chef Ben Vaughn brings all of the savory comfort of pork and beans to his unique preparation. Chef Ben Vaughn’s beans are delicate and textured red beluga lentils. The pork, adds Chef Ben Vaughn, is spicy andouille sausage made in-house. Adding an order of dirty rice to this dish, suggests Chef Ben Vaughn, makes for an out-of-sight red beans and rice.

Chef Ben Vaughn reminds readers, visitors, and other assorted foodies that Au Fond Farmtable specializes in meals and menu items derived directly from local agricultural yields. Because Chef Ben Vaughn is not buying food from mega farmers thousands of miles away, natural variability in the menu is to be expected and relished. Shrimp and grits, or pork and beans, says Chef Ben Vaughn, might not always have the exact same ingredients but they will have a consistent flavor range that is sure to satisfy.

On Off Digital World notes that the trend in consumer electronics is for devices to pack more and more features into smaller and smaller bodies. Nowhere is this more obvious, says On Off Digital World, than in the digital video camera market. The latest in digital video cameras, explains On Off Digital World are the shoot-and-share compact video cameras.

On Off Digital World explains that shoot-and-share digital video cameras are hand held marvels designed to capture video and instantly transfer it to your computer or website. Because of advances in technology, says On Off Digital World, new shoot-and-share cameras provide all the video recording power of their clunky home video camera predecessors, but are small enough to fit into a pocket. In fact, adds On Off Digital World, the latest shoot-and-share digital cameras record video in stunning high definition formats.

One exciting new digital video camera available at On Off Digital World is the FLIP Ultra HD Camcorder. This 6-ounce device, says On Off Digital World, is an easy to use digital video camera that can record up to 2 hours of high definition video. Once the internal 8 GB memory is full, says On Off Digital World, the FLIP has a handy flip-out USB connection that plugs directly into any Mac or PC for easy movie transfer, editing and uploads to websites like YouTube. The FLIP Ultra HD Camcorder at On Off Digital World has a full color 2-inch LCD screen for sharing and instant review of movies.

On Off Digital World also highlights the Kodak PlaySport Zx3 HD Pocket Video Camera. This powerful little camera, says On Off Digital World, shoots full 1080p HD video, even under water. Yes, the camera is waterproof up to 10 feet, confirms On Off Digital World, and has the latest in image stabilizing technology to smooth out jerky handheld motions.

With those kinds of specifications, says On Off Digital World, the Kodak PlaySport is the camera of choice for crisp video of rugged outdoor action. On Off Digital World adds that the Kodak PlaySport also takes gorgeous 5 megapixel, widescreen still photographs. With the Kodak PlaySport Zx3 at On Off Digital World users can capture invigorating video and memory making still photos, all in high definition, all in the same handy device.

Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, owned by Marian Harding, is a top breeder of champion schnauzers. Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers reports that every year more orphaned schnauzers are taken in by miniature schnauzer rescue. Many of these lovable animals, says Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, are eventually adopted into loving homes. Marian Harding and the experts at Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers note that many people are surprised to learn the schnauzer adoption process is so thorough and meticulous. Dedicated schnauzer rescues, adds Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, want to make sure that the schnauzer is a good fit for the owner or family in question. Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers explains that rescue operations would defeat the purpose if the rescued animal were abandoned again.

Many readers ask Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, what about rescue dogs that isn’t adopted? Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers says that miniature schnauzer rescue does not euthanize dogs. Rather dogs are kept, adds Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, and allowed to fulfill the full course of their lives. During this time, continues Hardinhaus Miniatures Schnauzers, the rescuers never stop looking for a home for their rescues. Though miniature schnauzer rescue has a broad acceptance policy when it comes to shelter, Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers says there are a few traits that make dogs difficult to adopt.

Before being taken in, explains Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, a rescue evaluator will visit the schnauzer and determine its status for rescue. Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers adds that a dog with the certain traits is not likely to be eligible for the shelter and adoption services of miniature schnauzer rescue. For example, if a dog is in the late stages of a fatal condition, says Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, rescue will not accept the animal because adoption is impossible. This is because, according to Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, miniature schnauzer rescue is not hospice. Also a dog with a tendency of serious aggression toward humans, notes Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, is going to be ineligible for rescue, for liability reasons. By a similar token, adds Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers, dogs that are excessively frightened, timid and insecure are unlikely to ever adjust to a new home, and are therefore declined by some miniature schnauzer rescues.

Marian Harding of Hardinhaus Miniature Schnauzers notes that miniature schnauzers are a smart and loving breed of dog. With that intelligence and love, says Marian Harding, comes a pronounced and sometimes headstrong personality. Marian Harding adds that miniature schnauzers may even show aggression towards other dogs or be stubborn during training. While miniature schnauzers are known for being obedient and devoted, continues Marian Harding, they demand the same from their owners. For this reason, says Marian Harding, miniature schnauzers require socialization and obedience training while they are still tiny puppies. When foundational training is laid down early, notes Marian Harding, miniature schnauzers grow to into excellent companions.

Training should begin, says Marian Harding, as soon as you bring your puppy home. The first elements of miniature schnauzer training, explains Marian Harding, are housebreaking and socialization. Shortly after housebreaking and socialization training, Marian Harding recommends starting right in on obedience training. Because miniature schnauzers are so intelligent, says Marian Harding, they need persistent training to keep them out of trouble. Just as a smart child in school will act out if not given challenging enough tasks, says Marian Harding, the same is true of miniature schnauzers. The structure of obedience training, explains Marian Harding, creates an avenue of expression for the schnauzers’ natural intelligence.

Marian Harding explains that the same intelligence, which can lead to wayward behavior in schnauzers, is precisely what makes them prized show dogs. Once a schnauzer is trained, says Marian Harding, owners are often surprised by how obedient their dog has become. A necessary and foundational command for any miniature schnauzer, notes Marian Harding, is the “stand” command. “Stand” is a basic show command, adds Marian Harding, that puts the schnauzer in a regal posture awaiting inspection. A schnauzer correctly trained to “stand,” says Marian Harding, will remain erect and still during a physical inspection by the judge, even while the judge touches the dog’s face, legs, body and tail. A nice bonus that comes with the “stand” command, notes Marian Harding, is that it makes the dog much easier to bathe.

Sure, maybe the prices of bikes at Bikes Direct are incredibly low compared to those at your local bike shop and, yes, maybe Bikes Direct can offer single-speeds and limited edition bikes hard to find anywhere else, but would you buy a bike from an internet site like Bikes Direct?

Usually the only reason why people hesitate in making any purchase over the Internet is the trust factor: will you really get what you paid for? At Bikes Direct, their best response is to let other customers do their talking.

Time and again, Bikes Direct shoppers will see testimonials that include phrases like: “thank you for the excellent service” and “thanks for the fast delivery” from Bikes Direct and “thank you for the wonderful bike.” It’s reassuring for people new to Bikes Direct to read that a customer has “passed the Bikes Direct name on to several friends because it’s not often these days that you get great service and good quality.”

Sometimes the comments received by Bikes Direct deal with excellent (and one-on-one) customer service, like one who simply stated that the Bikes Direct service is wonderful. Another satisfied Bikes Direct buyer went into more detail, saying: “Thanks so much for your patience. Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your help. Thanks for your patience with my constant, nagging questions. I will definitely be recommending Bikes Direct to my friends.”

Once you start to examine the comments made by people who have purchased bikes through Bikes Direct, you can then look at the Frequently Asked Questions on the Bikes Direct website. For example, how can Bikes Direct sell top quality bikes at such low prices? According to Bikes Direct, the answer is right there in their name: they sell bikes factory direct. There’s no middleman in a retail store with rent, dozens of employees and associated overhead. The Bikes Direct bikes come straight from a distribution warehouse that is loaded with inventory, purchased in bulk for more savings.

For more information, or to speak with someone at Bikes Direct, please go online to www.bikesdirect.com or send Bikes Direct a fax at 877-245-3329.

What Bikes Direct Customers Are Saying About Bikes Direct:

Dear Bikes Direct,

I must admit that I was somewhat hesitant about buying such an expensive bike on-line [from Bikes Direct] but I gave it a shot. I have now but about 500 miles on my Fuji Professional that I got from Bikes Direct and am LOVING IT! There isn’t a bike out there that compares. What a ride!

Thanx Again,
Dave

Bikes Direct,

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate Bikes Direct help. Thanks for your patience with my constant, nagging questions. I will definitely be recommending Bikes Direct to my friends and associates out here in South Dakota; where triathlete bikes are only available through mail order or Internet.

Most Sincerely,

Went on my first ride today, the bike rides very fast. I was surprised to find such a nice bike for the price Bikes Direct advertised, I’m glad I didn’t go with the $900.00 bike at the local shop. I was worried that it was going to be “heavy”, but it’s a well-built road bike and I’m mainly using it for exercise. Bikes Direct provides an online bike “heaven” for those of us who don’t need the fancy racing bikes and just want quality at an affordable price.

I have already recommended Bikes Direct to some of my friends and neighbors here in Stafford, VA.
