Samsung announced that neither it or the original Galaxy Tab would be getting the update to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. The company blamed it on the devices’ hardware, saying that they can’t handle the new version of Android with the TouchWiz UI pasted on top. After getting some bad press, Samsung’s PR and software teams huddled together and came up with a solution that misses the point entirely: in place of Ice Cream Sandwich, the Galaxy S will be receiving a “value pack” full of ICS-like features.

Ray Mobile’s the private label of Mobile Store has launched Cheapest Touch Screen T60 Mobile Phones. Important thing to note Ray T60 is Dual SIM Models.

It also has touch screen phone of T65 with camera and FM phone. It only costs 7000 rupees and could probably the cheapest touch screen phone on the market. Can’t confirm that but I am sure of one thing.

Facebook Under Fire Over Privacy Settings

Popular social networking site Facebook is being criticised for planned changes to its privacy settings.

The Facebook officials plan to "simplify" the process so users only have to set them once, instead of for each individual feature.

The change will help people share more information with one another.

However, critics insist that the new settings can persuade members to share too many personal details - their date of birth for example.

"I'm a little bit worried about the settings recommended by Facebook because as far as I can see it's actually sharing quite a lot of information with quite a few people," the BBC quoted Tom Royal, from Computeractive magazine as saying.

"That's not something we'd advise people to do. We'd very much recommend people choose the 'limited' option instead.

"For example, just your date of birth can be a security question for lots of internet applications," he added.

Meanwhile, Facebook execs say that the 'one size fits all' approach will make things more straightforward for users.

"The effect of more and more settings has made controlling privacy on Facebook too complicated," said site's chief privacy officer Chris Kelly.

"It's also phasing out regional networks like London and Manchester because Kelly says "they don't adequately reflect a world where people choose the audience they want to share with," he added. (ANI)

The new Apple iPhone marketing campaign promotes iPhone Apps for enterprise use, but it may be awhile before iPhone users start snapping up the business applications on iTunes, as a survey shows iPhones are still overwhelmingly ignored for business use.

Games and entertainment are still the top iPhone Apps categories, and the rumors of video for iPhone OS 3.0 are not likely to draw many business users.

Apple said consumers had downloaded more than 1 billion iPhone applications from its online App Store, and that software developers had filled the store's virtual aisles with more than 35,000 programs.

Apple pockets one-third of all app revenue, as it does with the music, movies, and TV shows it sells.

The dynamics of the marketplace could change this summer, however, when Apple enables software developers to generate reve nue from their apps in new ways.

As for Apple's current campaign promoting the iPhone's enterprise applications, it still appears that iPhone users prefer pleasure to business.

India Orders 250,000 OLPC Laptops

The Indian government has turned to the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Foundation to order 250,000 XO laptops, after the $10 laptop had turned a catastrophe, which was a direct challenge to the $100 laptop of the OLPC project.

Satish Jha, President and CEO of OLPC India said, The laptops are ordered for 1,500 schools and the deliveries will begin in June.

The One Laptop per Child project ran into problems when large companies, including Intel refused to cooperate.

Intel was a member of the association for a brief period in 2007.

It resigned its membership on 3 January 2008, citing disagreements with requests from OLPC's founder, Nicholas Negroponte, for Intel to stop dumping their Classmate PCs.

Microsoft to release Windows 7

Microsoft plans to release a nearly final version of its Windows 7 operating system at the end of the month.

The version, known as a 'release candidate', or RC, essentially means the world's largest software company is in the final stages of completing the operating system.

Windows is depending heavily on its Windows operating system, which is main source of income for it.

With Windows 7, Microsoft is hoping to repair a reputation damaged by Windows Vista, which many corporate customers are still avoiding.

Research from IT research firm Forrester in January showed that just one third of IT decision makers have begun migrating to Windows Vista, two years after its launch.
