DJ mix number 2 this week as FYB duty calls. I veered away from house on this occasion as it was time to breathe, stretch my genre legs and paste together some other sounds I’ve been stockpiling over the last few months that deserve a public airing.

More of a compilation than a mix ‘Amorisco’ is a 100-112bpm funky disco ‘ish affair, old and new featuring some edits from the usual suspects e.g. Toomy Disco, Leftside Wobble (check his new Acid Soul 7 mix here), Fingerman (who must me on DAW steroids with his current output), The Players Union etc. It drifts along gradually increasing in tempo and was technically a little tricky due to a number of un-sequenced tracks wreaking havoc with transients and my hands, so apologies in advance for push sync wobbles and mix track cuts.

Broadcast on the finca am show on Ibiza Global Radio H-edit 2 is another delve into the seemingly endless world of Edits. It mirrors the first H-edit mix in that I’ve chosen ‘popular’ music edits that have been tastefully treated with some modern studio magic.

For me, it revitalises commercial songs I’ve perhaps heard 100 times. If the end product is good on the ear then why not? (I’ve also included my recent Glen Campbell edit, more info here)

’50′ celebrates the fiftieth finca am radio show on Ibiza Global Radio and follows my take on their balearic sound using a typical template of a slow mo sound-scaped intro melded with some random voice samples, a gradual increase in bpm and genres that are gently compacted into one hour. Now also being being broadcast on we-love-house in Germany the show continues to fly the flag for the eclectic finca am sonic output and good vibes ethos.

To mention a couple of three tracks there is a wonderful Midland edit form last year (free download via FB Page below). Something from the fellow Barcelona dwelling John Talabot‘s new album which is receiving rave reviews and a great new track form Bullion on R&S.
