The 42-piece limited edition line features swimsuits, cover-ups, and sandals for the beach, and the designer’s sexy dresses and tailored jackets for evenings out. Details are a little thin on the ground, but we should see Robert Cavalli's signature looks reinterpreted with more affordable fabrics. I'd be surprised if there were no busy patterns and animal prints!

A trench coat is the most expensive item at $129, but shoppers can scoop up pieces for as little as $49. Those low prices should help Cavalli achieve his aim of creating a collection that everybody will like, and buy.

"Every girl can wear Roberto Cavalli," he insisted recently in an interview with Vogue Australia. "To a nice party, in the discotheque - and they will have a lot of fun!"

Roberto Cavalli's summer collection for Target will hit 136 stores across Australia and its online store on October 31, just in time for the warm weather Down Under. Unfortunately the e-store only ships around Australia, so international fans will have to hope a few pieces find their way to eBay!

There are no prizes for guessing where the Grommets got its name. Gleaming silver hoops pop against the classic black fabric. This is a blend of nylon and xtra life lycra spandex and elastane, an addition which helps the swimsuit last. As well it should for the price!

There's no getting around it; this Grommets swimsuit is very expensive at $258. However it's also a timeless piece, with real attention to detail. If you can afford that initial outlay, you'll enjoy the way this Karla Colletto swimsuit will help you turn heads for years to come.

Of course the plunging neckline will attract those envious stares, but the Grommets has more flattering features working behind the scenes. Its high back smooths the silhouette, while the hidden underwire adds extra support in the front. It's also crafted in the United States, so you needn't worry about shoddy production.

Sometimes the simplest things in life really are the best. A black swimsuit has long been a summer staple, ideal for women of any age, shape, or race. But under the hands of Karla Colletto, it's become something really special.

The black and white color palette is timeless, but it's cheapened by the loud logos on the bikini's triangles. Logos are really falling out of favor, and these ones aren't attractive enough or discreet enough to convince us to take a chance. They transform this swimsuit from classic beauty to a walking billboard! I can't imagine many fashionistas loving the brands so much that they'll want to advertise for them, especially for the price.

Not that the Goldie is expensive mind you; it’s just no bargain. At $39.50 it's comparable to most mid-priced swimwear. Given the amount of free advertising the companies will receive from sales, they should have priced it much more competitively!

Or they should have offered many more features. The Goldie is a pretty basic bikini, made from a traditional blend of nylon and elastine jazzed up with some foil accents. There are removable cups in the bust for padding, but that's almost expected for a swimsuit targeting the petite end of the fashion market.

Fox Racing and Rockstar's Goldie Bikini isn't terrible, but it's also not a triumph of swimsuit design.

As it's name suggests, the face-kini is a bizarre bikini that's worn over the face. The mask helps Chinese sunlovers protect their delicate porcelain skin from harmful UV rays and the insects and jellyfish common in local waters. The strange swimwear was first spotted on the beaches of Qingdao, but its popularity's quickly spread to China's other coastal breaks.

Face-kinis are available in a wide range of colors. Fans can match them to their swimsuit, or choose a contrasting shade for an even more eye-catching look. They're affordable too, with prices typically ranging from $2.40 to $4.00. Since they're reusable, they're actually a cheap alternative to sunscreen!

Here at Bikini Buys we appreciate the importance of sun protection, but surely it should come in a more fashionable package. The face-kini looks more like the mask of a Mexican wrestler or wannabe bank robber than a summer staple. We also imagine the extreme tanning around the eyes won't be a very good look. We hope the Chinese are lathering on the sunscreen to avoid the panda look!

The design is certainly romantic, with warm yellowy roses set against a dramatic black background. The plunging neckline brings some contemporary contrast to the classic print. Adding ruffles or lace would have been an obvious pairing for the feminine pattern, but by choosing a stronger neckline Insight's ensured its design doesn't look over the top.

It's unfortunate that Insight hasn’t published images of models wearing its Dream Lover, because the still image we see here doesn't really do the design any favors. The swimsuit honestly appears a bit dumpy. Without any padding or underwire the Dream Lover's bound to be comfortable, but I'm not convinced it'll flatter anyone’s form.

The cinching down the center of the swimsuit will work with the black fabric to hide problem areas, but the Dream Lover doesn't go that next step and make the most of assets. That's particularly disappointing for a style with such a distinct neckline. You really need cleavage to make this style work, and not all of us have that naturally!

For the fairly substantial price of $92.95, shoppers really want to be sure of a swimsuit's style. That's not the sort of money anyone would spend on a maybe. The Dream Lover could be a surprise package, but I'm just not persuaded.

Those Roman gladiators would recognize the strappy style, but I'll bet their shoes didn't have such a stylish finish. The snake embossing gives the leather a real modern flair. The gleaming silver buckles and rings bring some more contemporary personality to the design.

While Cole Haan's paid attention to the aesthetics, it hasn't forgotten about the functional details. The Deandra has just the slightest heel, ensuring the design's stylish but forgiving on our feet. The rubber sole is also ergonomically shaped to cushion and support our feet, whether we're pounding the pavement or walking on soft sand.

I must admit though, I have my misgivings about the appropriateness of this style for beach wear. It has a few more straps than most gladiator designs, and they're likely to make our feet sweat. The soft leather should ensure they don't painfully rub against our feet, but a more minimalist approach would have helped our feet breathe.

While the Deandra's not the perfect beach shoe, it's a pretty good all-rounder. The style will take us from the shore to a beachside café or club with ease. At $157.50 this pair of shoes is no bargain, but its versatility helps us justify the splurge.

We love wearing T-shirts to inform the world of our favorite bands, political affiliations, and pet causes. But their static designs can get a bit boring. CuteCircuit looks to shake things up with the TshirtOS, the world's first programmable T-shirt.

The clever tee can be customized with your tweets and Facebook statuses, playlists, pictures, personalized messages, video and more. It's crafted from cotton, but features an interactive LED panel on the front. This grid wirelessly connects to your smart phone through an integrated circuitboard.

Scottish whisky maker Ballantine's sees the potential in the concept and has sponsored the TshirtOS's prototype creation. CuteCircuit's not resting on its laurels though. It plans to incorporate a camera and a microphone into the shirt to enable it to capture real-time feeds, sounds, and video imagery.

CuteCircuit is currently shopping around its prototype, but it hopes there'll be a buyer so it can further develop the technology and make its creation cost-effective. If you need one of these T-shirts for the beach, make sure you register your interest with the TshirtOS section on Ballantine's Facebook page. Just ensure you keep it well away from the waves if you do get one. Something tells me all that tech wizardry won't like water!

Teeology.com has the sort of simple premise that causes us to wonder why no one had created it before. The shopping website's fashion forward designs are created by international artists. Teeology.com members then vote for their favorites. Best of all, membership is totally free.

The styling of the tees themselves is pretty basic, but the prints really bring them alive. British women are wearing more on the beach, with most opting for one-pieces over skimpy bikinis.

The United Kingdom's popular discount website MyVoucherCodes recently polled nearly 1500 Brits aged between 18 and 30 on their shopping habits. Two-thirds of the women said they intended to take a beach holiday this summer. A little more than a third of the women said they'd wear a bikini, around 10 per cent said they'd don a tankini, while the remaining participants said they'd pick a one-piece.

Most one-piece lovers felt the style was "more flattering" than a bikini, but a significant amount also declared the costumes were "more fashionable" than other swimwear options.

It seems the Brits prefer quantity over quality. Those polled bought an average of 3.4 new pieces of swimwear each year, but they spend around $66.30 on each piece. That's good news for mid-priced designers, but not ideal for labels at the top end of the market.

With four out of five British women declaring they don’t feel confident on the beach, perhaps it's little wonder that one-pieces are enjoying a renaissance. The style covers up problem areas. Many even have special slimming enhancements!

Designer John Bartlett has teamed up with animal advocacy group Farm Sanctuary for a range of charitable T-shirts.

The Ambassador tees are the ideal way to show your support for animal rights on the beach this summer. Each one figures a white silhouette of a farm animal against a matte black background. The sleeve shows the number of these animals slaughtered for food every year in the United States. It’s hard to ignore the issue when you see we lose 9 billion chickens, 110 million pigs, and 35 million cows annually.

Bartlett was inspired to create the collection after listening to Farm Sanctuary's president Gene Bauer speak about the cruel conditions of factory farms. After converting to veganism, Bartlett wanted to do more, and so set about creating the T-shirt collection.

"I am an avid companion animal rescue advocate and feel that what Farm Sanctuary does is an incredibly important mission," Bartlett explained. "They are working to save farm animals from the horrific life at factory farms and that inspires me beyond words."

The Ambassador Collection T-shirts are available from John Bartlett's website for $40. 10% of the proceeds from each shirt sold will help Farm Sanctuary work towards their goal of ending cruelty towards farm animals.
