You need to be running Google Chrome (duh)
You need to be in the dev channel pathway for Google Chrome updates (see http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel/)
You need to start Google Chrome with a modified shortcut
Google Chrome sync&amp;#039;s your bookmarks with Google Docs!

The reasons vary from protecting computers on the network to keeping employee's from sharing sensitive information with the outside world.

In most situations this is counter intuitive to employee productivity as the line between work and home blur into the use of the Internet. I'd like to explore some of the services that allow you to break out of the firewall to get things done using your web toolbox.&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

Workarounds through the web

iGoogle is a great place to start getting back to the web. With iGoogle you can make a personal page to track all kinds of data from other places on the Internet. This is done through the use of small web page applications called widgets. The database in iGoogle has thousands of widgets for tracking your twitter account, stocks, weather and more. Check out iGoogle and some of my favorite widgets below.

	iGoogle HomePage
	TwitterGadget Widget
	Ping.FM Widget
	FriendFeed Widget
	Hotmail Widget
	MSN Messenger Widget
	Facebook Widget

iGoogle blocked at your work?  Try pageflakes.com or NetVibes instead, they are very similar to iGoogle operating on the same widget principle.
Hosted Web OS

A hosted Internet operating system puts a desktop inside your browser and allows you to install applications with in the page. This includes an Internet browser, web messengers, and games.

	EyeOS
	G.ho.st
	Glide OS
	CloudO

Have any more websites that should be here?  Leave a comment!</itunes:summary>	</item>

<description>In the coming weeks the webcasts at Bastardgeek will also have the option for video. We are waiting on some parts that should hopefully fix a ground loop issue or otherwise known as 60 cycle.  In the meantime, I have been working away on slight video and audio issues to make things just right.

Last night I built the video intro for the BioAware webcast and thought I would share it.

Within the first 24 hours I had to recharge the device twice because of solid internet use over a period of 8 hours. Most would think that means bad battery life, however with the solid 3G usage downloading and browsing the net that isnt bad........&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

Well it has been a solid 2 weeks since I bought the Tour! I have been playing with it quite solid since. For those of you that havent read my previous article here is the link: http://www.bastardgeek.com/2009/07/blackberry-9630-tour-smartphone/

Within the first 24 hours I had to recharge the device twice because of solid internet use over a period of 8 hours. Most would think that means bad battery life, however with the solid 3G usage downloading and browsing the net that isnt bad. Not to mention the first charge was the initial charge when I first opened it. With that said, I get anywhere from a full day of usage to a day and a half before having to recharge the device, especially if I dont do any downloading. Something else to note, I live in a rural area where cell phone signal is not the strongest putting a strain on the CDMA radio.

The Blackberry Operating system 4.7 has a much improved browser making browsing the internet much easier than was previous on the 4.2 and 4.5 versions. It renders pages much faster and has a better interface for browsing non mobile websites.

The devices built in 3.2 mp camera however I find is lacking, the pictures are fairly grainy when taken in lower light situations. The photos if taken in full light are fairly decent, however still leaves a lot to be desired. Also I havent been able to get the Geotagging function to work properly.

There are several smaller items which I will quickly mention in point form

The built in software clock has a new function, they call it &amp;quot;Bedside Mode&amp;quot; which puts the phone into a silent and battery saving mode, only allowing phone calls to wake you! Very handy!
The new application center from RIM, keeps RIM specific apps updated and alerts you when there is a new update! Awesome for keeping MSN and Google Talk updated!
A hidden application called Memory Cleaner can be turned on and activated from the Options menu under Security. This keeps your device running smoother and wipes any recently used passwords from memory!

Applications

I thought I would highlight the applications I have chosen to install on my device. As is with every release of a new Blackberry a lot of software vendors seem to either update their applications or release new ones.

Blackberry App World - First and foremost, this was the first app I installed.
YellowPages.ca - Find phone numbers fast both residential and commercial! Highly useful! You can either download their application or use their mobile website version.
IM-Social Networking: Windows Live, Google Talk, Facebook
Twitterberry - Falls under the social networking category but cannot be easily found on the App Store. You can download it from www.orangatame.com
Google Software Pack: Maps, Sync, Search - I find the sync app extremely useful for keeping my Blackberry contacts and calendar updated with my Google account! Also makes switching devices easier too.
Poynt - It works in Canada too! Yes yes my friends not many apps work for Canadian information, but this does. Pull up, yellow pages listings, movie information and more. It can also pull up information based on your GPS location.
Viigo - Best RSS reeder I have found for the Blackberry. I wish Google would create a mobile version of Reader.
Phonalyzr - Would have to be the best app out there for those who use the MyFive or MyFav services from their providers. This app will create a graphical report based on who you call and how many times you call allowing you to choose the top 5 people you call the most!
QuickPull v2 - Keep your device running smooth! Schedule a automatic reboot in the wee hours of the morning! I have mine set to reboot every day at 3am. While I find I dont need to do this with the newer 4.7 software, it keeps the device from getting to sluggish!

Over the past 2 weeks I have only had 1 issue with the device locking up, and I blame that on crappy 3rd party software which I had just installed. I find the device and the software to be much more solid than the Curve and the 8830 counterparts, especially the back. Instead of sliding the back on it clips in. I myself went through 3 swap units of the 8830 having issues with the speaker cutting out during a phone call, randomly rebooting itself while using it etc. All in all I am extremely happy with the Blackberry Tour 9630!

No downloads, links to purchase the music, and paying off the recording industry keeps the system legal, and the Songza team from getting into legal battles:
Songza pays the major performing rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC), who then pay the publishers and songwriters in proportion to the number of plays they get on Songza.
Still using that P2P app for music? Well as Canadians we don&amp;#039;t have too much to worry about, however, using a free legal system that puts money back into the industry just makes more sense. Plus no viruses, spyware, or other crap you don&amp;#039;t need. You just need to sort through the junk recordings to find the good ones.

Songza seems to have a plan to sort through the bad recordings; users can rate recording quality as they sample songs from their search results.

Other advanced features like an undo feature when you delete songs from your playlist, and being able to shuffle your playlist make Songza a perfect source for listening to music at home or at work.

Users are able to reorder their playlist the way they want, and features like suggestive search results  and featured playlists help you find or discover new music. Plus, check out your friends playlists, or subscribe to their song feed (Example: http://api.songza.com/1.0/feed/chiss22.rss).

Now where is that iPhone app for listening?

Visit songza.com
Songbird user?
If you use Songbird like me, you may want to check out the Songza Search add-on for Songbird. The add-on allows Songbird users to search Songza directly from the search box in the program.
