BarCamp is Birmingham’ free geek “unconference” that’s equal parts networking, knowledge-building and fun. Each year we  bring together the brightest minds from the new media, tech, entrepreneurial and geek communities. But it’s only as good as you make it—to get to the good stuff, you gotta give up some of the good stuff. Attendees are encouraged to get involved through volunteering, presenting an insightful session, or inspiring and leading community learning through active discussion and networking.

Past topics include: technology, marketing, juggling, startups, development, social media, gadgets, communities, design, hardware hacking, UI design, entrepreneurship, AJAX, open source software,  mobile computing, programming languages, the future of technology, and much, much more!

3) people to help setup the rooms.

Previously we have provided food and t-shirts for free at the Barcamp Events. This year we will not be able to provide free lunch and t-shirts due to the other expenses doubling. We will try to provide snacks and drinks during the event though. We will try to find a place we can go get some food as a large group that Saturday though.

Otherwise the event is the same as ever. Once you arrive be sure to post your topic idea on the board and then we will vote on the best ones and set the schedule. Make sure you take some time to meet new people and come prepared to learn!
