Have you ever asked for your husband’s help by asking him to run to the grocery store to grab something while he’s in the middle of working? Or has your spouse asked you to stop what you’re doing to help with something for a minute? It’s not necessarily that you don’t want to help; it could simply be that it’s just aggravating to be interrupted while being in the middle of a task. Will you actually admit that as “grown up” you’ve stomped a time or two; maybe slammed a door on your way to help? Well, children are the same. So next time when you are ready to run some errands and the kids are playing try to give them a 15 minute heads-up before tearing them away from their work while playing at their favorite park, leaving their grandparents’ home or getting ready for bed. Although a notice is not always possible, once your children realize it’s your routine to give fair warning, you’ll be amazed at the appreciation shown for the acknowledgement of transition. Regardless if the forewarning is truly a necessity it will diminish tantrums and reduce anxiety for all involved. Once your little ones understand that you recognize the importance of their requirements to their occupation; even those times you forget to give forewarning to “wrap things up”, the tolerance not to bulk is remarkable. As a child, I recall how my sister, Tina and I had a very swanky and yet hectic restaurant. Our mother and father had made space in the garage for our kitchen which was just right for cooking impressive meals to serve our patrons anything their hearts desired. To our advantage, the chef’s kitchen wasn’t too far from the wooden picnic table that sat under the arbor where all hosting and delectable mud pies were tasted. I still remember lying in bed with heavy lids, aching legs from cooking and bussing tables yet beaming with pride of our outstanding restaurant, pleased critics but most importantly; the satisfaction of a hard day’s work. I believe Jean Piaget’s quote still holds true today, “Play is work for children”. Relax and let the play begin!

Well I told you I would share tips & tricks, so here it goes!Add your first tip along with this #2:
Practice/Times-I completely understanding how you feel right now, I detested to hear it too! But honestly that’s what works. Like anything worth doing well, it must include practice. Now I won’t just leave you with practice.;o)
Take your sd card and # it or label it in some form or fashion to know which card is your “practice” card. Now, with this card shoot at different times of the day. Summer is fabulous for doing this because you have so many hours of “light time”. Pick an object or a particular spot and I would start with: 5am, 10am, 2pm, 4pm, then go for 4pm to 8ish. You will be astonished at the difference! Don’t get technical about shooting exactly the same angle, etc. ignore that for now. Just notice the difference in your end products.
Trick #3: Since I’ve been such a snail at getting this contest going, here’s another!
Perspective is captivating.
Be a snail on the ground, a two year old, sit in a chair, get in a ditch, tilt, bend, lay flat on your back under a tree, etc. Just move. You will notice very quickly how distinctive the “point of view “makes things look at various heights and angles. *Please note, after implementing this technique, most neighbors will not converse with you again. Therefore, this could be an asset to you or drawback.;0)
