It's not a habit, it's something that is more of a learned response when the body is ready which is why I would keep diapers on her at night. Many kids from 3 to teenage years wet the bed and have the need to wear protection at night (diapers). Our doctor explained to us that as the child grows, the bladder sometimes does not grow as fast which is called an immature bladder. It's a stage where kids go through to where the sensory to wake the child is not there due to the immature bladder hence the child wets the bed because the bladder will empty. This stage typically happens after a child has been potty trained. Plus as children grow the heavier sleepers the become which doesn't help. It is not something you can train a child for at night. My son is 5 and I still put him in disposable diapers every night because of bed wetting. I was also a bed wetter and wore disposable diapers at night for a very long time until I could stay dry so the age when kids grow out of the bed wetting stage can vary. I would diaper at night until she can get out of the bed wetting stage. Our doctor said with kids being this young it will not effect their self esteem by diapering them and it lets everyone get a restful nights sleep and less laundry for you to be keeping up with. It's all about communication and how you let the child know there are plenty of kids that wear diapers to bed and its not that big of deal.

Suggestion:

3 yrs is still young to be completely potty trained. A lot of young kids still wet the bed on occassion. Most important is do not spank or punish for wetting.

Kids dream that they are peeing in the potty and don't realize they are still in bed. They also are in deep sleep & sometimes can't awaken themselves to go.

Do not give drinks 2 hours before bed time. Make her use the potty b4 going to bed. Award her for every night she didn't wet the bed.

You can use the plastic pants over her panties to help the mess.

I am expecting a little girl in late November (will probably end up being early December). I have a shower coming up in a month, but a lot of the really cute winter clothes are out there right now. I don't want to have to wait and "see" what people buy me at the shower. I would like to be able to buy some choice outfits for her now, so that I know for sure she'll get some clothing that I really love. My problem, though, is trying to figure out what size to buy. Do I buy newborn or 0-3? Also, how many newborn outfits do you think is normal to have before the baby comes? I heard that babies can wear newborn for a while or even not at all…. Please help!!

So, to boil my question down — I want to buy a three piece baby set (little hooded jacket, onesie and pants). WHAT SIZE SHOULD I BUY IT IN? It's a Carter's brand outfit and the sizes are Newborn or 3 months (IT DOES NOT SPECIFY 0-3; it just says 3 months). Does this mean she could wear it AT 3 months, or is that 0-3?

Thanks!

Suggestion:

What ever you find that you think is cute then buy it. Buy all sizes. When I found out was pregnant with my last son I bought all kinds of things from 0-4T. They go through things so fast it isn't even funny. With my baby shower I asked for all different sizes not just newborn. Also for the baby shower it was requested that everyone brings a pack of diaper (all different sizes) and everyone that did had their name go into a drawing for prizes. 3 months is 0-3. 6 months is 3-6 months. My son had some sizes that he wore for only a month or two and others that he would wear for a longer time. They have many growing spurts and go up in sizes as soon as they get into one. We got a lot of second hand clothes and hand me downs because they go through them so fast that used clothes are hardly used. We got a bunch of plastic totes and separated the sizes and used the as we needed.

What is the cost of gerber baby food? How many jars does a baby go through in a day on average? I go through 1 tub of formula a week now, and I'm wondering if the gerber baby food is more or less than the formula.

Suggestion:

At first it will be less expensive because you'll start the baby out slowly on baby foods. Keep in mind though , your baby will still need formula until he/ she is 1 yr old even with baby food. Here's a tip …you can buy the organic salt free veggies separately and run them through the food processor with a little bottled water and then pour them into ice cube trays and freeze. when you take them out of the trays put them into zip lock bags and Label them (eg . peas, green beans, etc)and add the date. warm it when your ready to feed .Store them in the freezer and use them with in about 6 mos ( most ppl say a year but I was always a bit on the safe side). You could probably start doing it now and have enough to last a while by the time the baby is ready for it. You can also do the same thing in a popsicle maker for when the baby starts cutting teeth ( just don't warm it)

Now the specific breed I am talking about is an Argentine Black and White Tegu. I researched about them hours upon hours on end. Now, I understand that babies prefer crickets, worms and mice etc etc. However, can their diet consist of bread, lots of fruit mixed with meat (like humans eat but raw) and some added supplements? My dad said Absolutely NO insects (I don't blame him) and no rodents (ehhhhhh~ I personally dont mind feeding them that but w/e). I plan on giving them (obviously small portions cut up) fish, fruit, bread, eggs, meat {Chicken/Turkey}, and beans(?)

I know its bad to give it too much at a time but I wrote out my feeding schedule for it so don't worry about the fact when Im giving them the food. I am afraid of protein deficiency for this diet. I plan to add its vitamins twice a week. What do you guys think?

Also, any advice on some good protein I can give the Tegu without the exceptions of insects and rodents? Adding vitamins every day isn't recommended.

Suggestion:

If you cannot feed the tegu the appropriate diet – 50% insects (crickets, locusts, roaches, morio worms, snails and prawns), 50% fruit and vegetables – please do not get a tegu.

Mice and meat should only be used as treats, as they can be quite high in fat and can cause organ damage.

Beans and bread are not suitable foods for a tegu at any time – they are not part of a natural tegu diet in any quantity and should not be given at all.

Okay so my third child is almost 7 months old and my older two children were both 10 months old when I moved them to toddler beds. Lately it seems like everyone I talk to that has kids between the ages of 1-2 years old still have their toddlers in a crib. So know I feel like a rushed my other two to beds and didnt leave hem in a rib long enough. My question is at what age did yall move your babies to toddler beds

Suggestion:

We just recently moved my youngest into a toddler bed(she turned 2 back in April.) She's been in it since July, I believe. It took her a while to get used to it-but she loves it now. With my oldest daughter, she was exactly 2 when we switched her over.

Suggestion:

The child will taken from her at the hospital and placed in care with the state and she may be charged with child endangerment if she has had other children taken by the state. She may have a chance of getting the children back if she goes through treatment and stays clean.

I've looked at a few, and I wanted to know if anyone has used a hands free feeding system with their baby/babies. No I'm talking about proping a bottle. I'm talking about a Podee, Milk Maid, or anything similar. I'm expecting twins, and I won't be breast feeding. Please no lectures about breast feeding or pumping. I've got medical issues. I'm going to be alone caring for a special needs child, and the twins while my hubby is deployed for the next year. If you have any suggestions, I would be grateful Thanks. Please be polite with your answers, thanks.

Suggestion:

I have never used one myself but in your situation a milk maid would probably be your best bet. They aren't expensive and will leave your hands free for other things I'm sure they wont stay free for long as it seems you will have a lot going on. Good luck with everything =)

so far people have told me to pack my hospital bag and wash the baby clothes….anything else?

Suggestion:

I packed, and re-packed and re-packed my hospital bag several times. Seriously, it was like 5 times before I actually went into labor that I took everything out and double checked that I had everything in there.

I washed, folded and organized baby clothes and every other baby item several times also.

I cleaned like a maniac! If I saw a speck of dust, I got out the vacuum and vacuumed the entire house. Then followed up with a good mopping.

I made meals and froze portions so my husband didnt have to worry about dinners for my other kids while I was busy with the new baby.

But right before I went into labor, all three times, I was really anxious and could not rest. I wasnt sure why at the time because I was not contracting or anything at that point. It started about 4-6 hours before contractions started.

I have no insurance and no mediacaid. How much it will cost me to deliver my baby in ingham country in Lansing (in natural way or c-section)?
Is it cheaper that sparrow? Sparrow gives 25% discount when you have no insurance, what about ingham country?

Suggestion:

Talk with hospital. You could be eligible for indigent care which is free depending how much money your family has. The hospital can also give you accurate cost information.
