Another attempt on “Vertices”. 
The hair colour was unintentional. I accidentally came across that while adjusting colour balance.
It surprisingly goes quite well with the skin tone.

Somehow reminds me of Ramona from movie Scott Pilgrom vs. the World.

Another form of glitch: Polygon distortion.

I did a little “fan art” of Pamelo, a character from Sudden Watermelon (ios/android game). For those who know about “Batwatch”, it’s rather obvious what’s parody here, hehe. Actually, I was never a fan of Pamela Anderson. But i think the character she played in the series was quite classic.

Sudden Watermelon Debut

Sudden Watermelon is an old school ‘beat them up’ action game with 16-bit pixel art visual.

Yonekura family (from Sudden Bonus) back for more actions!

It’s summer, the Yonekura family went for summer vacation at Lalala Beach. While they were having fun playing the classic beach game, ‘suikawari’ (watermelon splitting), the weird TV show host appeared again and challenged them to a game of “Sudden Watermelon” where they have to defeat some weird watermelon fighters.

Help the Yonekuras to fight and win back their peaceful summer trip!

Something different from my other works. I was exploring around with “up-res-ing”. It was started off from a canvas of 32×32, then up-scaled to 64×64, 128×128 …. so on. Hasn’t turned out as i expected, but it was quite relaxing to just keep painting and go with the flow.

Another attempt on the glitch series. I used a program named Tiled for the glitch pattern creation. I used it to create background tile map for ‘Kerohiro the Flag Bearer’. It’s surprisingly handy when being used for the glitch patterns.

“Just blow into the cartridge..”
If you are too young, you probably don’t know what that mean. In short, when games were still delivered in the form of cartridge, you sometimes get glitches when the copper contact fail. Blowing/scrubbing the cartridge sometimes help (some also say its futile).

The glitches produced were often bizarre and abstract. Somehow, has an orientation or repetitive order which yield aesthetic visual. Or is it just an old man mumbling bout his nostalgic memory here?

“We are all glitchy, in a way.”
