Here are six useful features of the favored social network for b2b professionals that you probably didn't know about, but should. (Note: You must log in to LinkedIn to see some of the pages referred to below.)

Follow companies. You can now choose to follow companies in the same way that you follow people on LinkedIn and Twitter. Status updates from those companies appear in your timeline, so you can keep track of new job opportunities, RFPs or activities of your competitors. If you have a company page on LinkedIn, you can see who comments and shares your status updates. Shares broaden your reach and identify fans and prospects. Comments can give you immediate feedback on how your news is being received. You can also see who has visited your page and group visitors by job function, industry and company.

Competitive intelligence. LinkedIn rolls up information about members to create some intriguing company statistics. Drill down to see the most common categories of jobs at a company, its head-count growth and the percentage of employees who change titles each month. This can yield insight into reorganizations or turmoil at competitors or at companies you might be considering doing business with. The statistics page also tells you who recently changed jobs and who has departed the company, which can be useful information if you're looking for a job. The “most recommended” employees section is useful for recruiters seeking top-quality candidates.

Products and services. If you have a LinkedIn company page, you can list descriptions, images and videos of your products and services and ask your customers to recommend them. Posting a recommendation is as simple as clicking a button, but customers can also post detailed comments. There's no downside for you because people can only cast a positive vote. You can also seek out recommenders to serve as case studies and reference customers.

LinkedIn Alumni. This recently introduced feature can be a great source of contacts and leads. We know how strong school ties can be; now you can get a page that shows who on LinkedIn attended the schools you did, where they now work and what they do. If you're looking for an opening line to use when approaching a prospect or someone who can get your foot in the door for a job, a comment on the football team's performance last weekend might be a good starting point.

LinkedIn Applications. Unlike Facebook's freewheeling approach to third-party apps, LinkedIn maintains a small but growing stable of useful tools to enhance your profile, keep up with news and share with others. You've been able to embed your blog posts, slide presentations and travel plans in your profile for some time, but more recent additions let you monitor real estate listings, find events and collaborate in shared work spaces. All apps take advantage of your shared connections or can be used to burnish your reputation.

LinkedIn Signal. This little-known gem lets you filter LinkedIn status updates (including Twitter feeds) by keyword, but the real power is in the feature that lets you narrow results to specific companies, industries, locations or degrees of connection. Want to find out who's seeking legal advice in the Cleveland area? Signal can help.

Searching for a specific topic can be even better when people share more recommendations. That is why Google has introduced the +1 button, an easy way for Google users to recommend your content right from the search results pages. The +1 button can help publishers, too. As potential visitors see recommendations from their friends and contacts beneath your Google search results, you could see more, and better qualified, traffic coming from Google.

With many requests, the +1 button is finally available to sites across the web. Sometimes you want to recommend a web page after you’ve visited it. After all, how do you know you want to suggest that great article if you haven’t read it yet? You'll also start to see +1 buttons on Google properties such as Android Market, Blogger, Product Search and YouTube.

Adding +1 buttons to your pages is a great way to help your content stand out in Google search. By giving your visitors more chances to +1 your pages, your search results and search ads could show up with +1 annotations more often, helping users see when your pages are most likely to be useful.

How to start
To get started, visit the +1 button tool on Google Webmaster Central. You’ll be able to configure a small snippet of JavaScript and add it to the pages where you want +1 buttons to appear. You can pick from a few different button sizes and styles, so choose the +1 button that best matches your site’s layout. In the common case, a press of the button +1’s the URL of the page it’s on.

If your site primarily caters to users outside of the US and Canada, you can install the +1 button code now; the +1 button is already supported in 44 languages. However, keep in mind that +1 annotations currently only appear for English search results on Google.com.

If you have users who love your content, encourage them to spread the word! Add the +1 button to help your site stand out with a personal recommendation right at the moment of decision, on Google search.

Paid links affect your Google rankings

Many websites on the Internet will link to your website if you pay them for the links. Is this a good method to increase the link popularity of your website or is there a problem if you use paid links.

What does Google think about paid links?

Google is very clear about paid links. They don't like them. Google even has an official form that enables webmasters to report paid links to Google:
Links are used to determine reputation. A site's ranking in Google search results is partly based on analysis of those sites that link to your website.
Link-based analysis is an extremely useful way of measuring a site's value, and has greatly improved the quality of web search. Both the quantity and, more importantly, the quality of links count towards this rating. However, some SEOs and webmasters engage in the practice of buying and selling links that pass PageRank, without considering the quality of the links, the sources, and the long-term impact it will have on their sites.
Buying or selling links that pass PageRank is in violation of Google's webmaster guidelines and can negatively impact a site's ranking in search results.

A recent problem
A webmaster recently reported problems in Google's webmaster discussion forum:
"Today I found that my entire site has dropped out of site in search results. I have a site that received over 2,000 search visits per day and today that has stopped."
It turned out that the website has many affiliate links and other links to advertisers that looked like paid links to Google. Unfortunately, these links were not marked as paid links and Google penalized the website for having the paid links.

What does this mean for your website?
You should avoid paid links if you don't want to get in trouble with Google. If you do buy or sell links, make sure that the links contain the rel="nofollow" attribute. By using that attribute, you show that the paid link is for advertising purposes only and that you don't want to manipulate your website rankings with the link.

While Google doesn't like paid links at all, they also make clear that links are very important: "Link-based analysis is an extremely useful way of measuring a site's value, and has greatly improved the quality of web search. Both the quantity and, more importantly, the quality of links count towards this rating."

For that reason, you should try to get as many good links to your website as possible. The quality is more important than the quantity. Links that point to your website are a very important factor that influences the position of your website in Google's search results. The links that point to your website should be from related websites and they should contain the keywords for which you want to get high rankings.

Do not manipulate the links to your website by buying links and do not join automated link systems to increase the number of links to your website. There are many ways to get good links (related websites, blogs, social bookmark sites, directories, etc.).
This article is taken from Axandra.com

Color Me Beautiful

If we asked you to name the company associated with the term "Big Blue" you'd probably reply "IBM" without a moment's hesitation. And in an article at MarketingProfs, William Arruda says that color is one of the most important components in your branding toolbox.

"[S]ome organizations are so consistent and steadfast in their use of color that they practically own that color in our minds," he says. "Think Home Depot, National Breast Cancer Foundation, UPS, and Target."

Arruda has recommendations like these for when you make your own color selections:

* Choose a color that reflects the values of your company and resonates with your audience. Don't pick one simply because it's your favorite, or commit to a certain hue without first testing to see how your target market reacts.
* If you have an international presence, determine what attributes a color might have in other cultures. Colors can mean different things in different countries, and you run the risk of sending a message you didn't intend.
* Be consistent in your use of color. "Always use the same shade and hue," advises Arruda. "Know the PMS, RGB (red, green, blue) and CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, key) formulas for the specific shade you choose. Your designer will be able to help, and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign have built-in conversions."

Viewing B2B in 3 key dimensions

It is very essential to get a customer insight because that way as a marketeer you can formulate market strategy. Accordingly you can make the campaign design. The sales force understand how to retain existing customers or approach acquisition targets. In the B2C market, customer insight is well understood. However, in the B2B space, customer insight is not very easy and still has a long way to go. The reason behind this is simple. Companies are a lot more complex than individual customers. Companies can be very small with just 1 or 2 employees or very large. Companies have different locations with different products and services. Capturing all of this diversity is difficult.

A good way to get a customer insight in B2B is to focus on three key dimensions.

First, what products are companies buying?

Second, how is the company structured from a decision making perspective?

Third, what information channels do decision makers and influencers in the company use to make decisions?

This simple three way method can be very helpful as to get an idea on the marketing strategy to be adopted. How would this approach work in a simple marketing campaign , for example, say, sell a new type of tool to construction companies.

First, the product dimension kicks in. Which other companies currently have similar tools? What types of buyers/companies/industries would need this tool? If the tool is very expensive, is there a lower bound on company size? A marketer could use data on product sales. This will help him to build a predictive model of the most likely firms to buy this new tool. It is necessary to note that in most cases, the product dimension is relevant at the firm and not the contact level.

Next that comes into play is the audience dimension. Who is going to make the decision to purchase this tool? Are the purchasers the actual users of the tool? What are the features of the tool will be most appealing to the purchasers? A marketer could create a contact strategy that targets each audience with the selling points that make the most impact--price on the buyer, features on the users etc.

Finally, the channel dimension is used to understand how marketing and sales should be executed. Do buyers read a specific type of publication to know more about this family of tools? Are there influential communities that they listen to that we need to plug into? Are there key distributors that must carry the product for it to penetrate the market?

Of course, getting customer insight across these three dimensions is not so easy. To acquire this raw information requires at the very least a qualitative market research study. However, by beginning to think in terms of these three dimensions, marketers will make better decisions. They begin to gather information on their B2B customers that they can use over and over again.

Are you LinkedIn or Not?

For those of you who think LinkedIn is simply an online platform to post your resume when you need a job or to half-heartedly build a "network," it's time to revisit LinkedIn. Its time to take a fresh look at LinkedIn. In the last year or so, LinkedIn has significantly increased its functionality - making the business networking site a great way to gather market intelligence about your prospective client and connect with them as well.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 120px; height: 148px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/Sp0MSmFI6pI/AAAAAAAACf4/L-L25z4xvdc/s400/linkedin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376467043749522066" />

How?
Read Company Profiles: Do you want to target specific companies within a niche industry? To find these companies, simply use LinkedIn's "Search Companies" function and read company Profiles, its specialties, size, locations and the number of employees at each location, and its previous years revenues. Even better, you can quickly see which employees are in your network, new hires, employees recently promoted, former employees, and those employees who have "popular profiles." You can find people with the job titles you're trying to target for marketing campaigns.

Study individuals' profiles: Once you have a list of individuals you'd like to target, go to each person's profile and see what you can learn.
Some people keep their entire profile "open" for viewing, and for those who do, you can learn quite a bit: the person's connections, the Groups they belong to, the events they're attending and even the books they're reading. Also look to see if people have links to a corporate or personal blog or Twitter or Facebook profiles and then follow them.

Search "Groups": You can also find people within your targeted industry by using LinkedIn's Search Groups function. Find specific Groups by using industry keywords in your search (i.e. B2B). Look for Groups that seem to have a good fit with the industry you're targeting and see if they match them up with the Groups the prospects on your list belong to. Then, join those Groups.

Join Groups: Now that you have an idea of who some of the experts are in your industry, which companies they work for, and which Groups they belong to, it's time to join a few more groups, may be 3 or 4.If you join too many Groups, you'll spread yourself to thin.

Search "Answers": Again, do a search using your industry terms and you'll find questions (and answers) people have posted relating to your query.
Read those Answers that pertain to your industry and analyze who is answering them - do these people match any of the names on your prospect list? Who are the experts?

Yes, doing all this does take some time and effort. But the result is worth it. Over time, you get to know industry players, you begin to add them to your network, and eventually they'll begin clicking through to your Website and then doing business with you. You are targeting real people on a one-to-one basis.

Source: http://www.savvyb2bmarketing.com/blog/entry/187891/using-linkedin-to-gather-industry-intelligence

Avoid Common SEO Errors

The business world is no doubt is today controlled by the internet. In order to optimize your website , it is necessary to avoid some common SEO errors that most businesses make during the website designing phase. These are as follows:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 100px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/Sot71xNqL6I/AAAAAAAACKc/mfZy5FCfy8M/s320/seo-errors.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371523144243359650" />
Keyword Stuffing: Keyword stuffing in your metadata is increases unnecessary traffic flow to your website. Therefore, when you decide keyword, make sure the keywords are relevant to your website's content.

Splash Pages: Usually the user views only the first page when he or she visits your website. Do not put Flash object with a “click here to skip” button or a large static graphic in the first page with a “continue” button. These pages don't work. They are not optimized for search engines to crawl becuse they contain little content for search engines to index. So these pages are of little interest. Therefore, if at all you want a splash page for your site make sure they are optimized correctly with text and graphics for the search engines to read and index.

ALT tag: This tag was designed specifically as an alternative to an image. This tag can index your images properly. Most of the search engines provide an “image” search facility, which is an important source of traffic to sites. If your products have been indexed and tagged properly then image search could act as another source of revenue for your site.

Flash Websites: They look great with moving images, sliding navigation and sleek designs. However, flash websites are not always preferred by search engines. The search engines can't view the text given within a Flash object and so can't index your content. In order to make Flash objects more search engine friendly, Adobe, Google and Yahoo have recently introduced “SEO Technology Center for Flash” to improve search engine ranking for Flash based websites. Adobe still recommends an HTML version for websites.

Duplicate Content: Make sure that there is no duplicate content in your websites. The search engines require fresh and unique content to index.

Competitors Links: With so many websites around, you may be tempted to link to your competitor’s products or website to get a “vote,” and this Google views as a recommendation. If your website haS high quality relevant links, you must remember that the more of a trusted source you become, it will improve your search engine rankings.

Link Spamming: There are many sites which offer the option to submit your website to hundreds of directories. One of the major threats for such websites is that they have content of low quality and treated as spam by Google.

Non-utilization of Meta: Every page in a website has three main areas were you can include content to, such as the TITLE tag, DESCRIPTION tag and the KEYWORDS tag. To ensure that your site is search engine friendly it is important to write each tag correctly. But do not provide tags which are irrelevant to your website.

Never Avoid Google Guidelines:Finally, be aware of any changes made to the Google Webmaster Guidelines.Google constantly changes its search engine algorithm and any failure to these guidelines will affect your website's rankings.

Shopping Cart Features

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/SnKXbQUFQ_I/AAAAAAAAB7I/41DHUarAtCQ/s320/online_shopping_cart.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364516600643142642" />The shopping cart you choose is a very important decision that you have to make if you are in an online business. This decision can either make or break your online business. It is seen in many cases that the difference between a successful e-commerce store and a failure is not the actual products or services offered but how the products and services are sold. You have to think like a customer when you design your shopping cart in your website. Some important features that customers look for in your shopping cart application are as follows.

SEO-Friendly
As an online business owner, SEO should be one of your topmost priorities. You as a site owner might create a shopping cart with intriguing content, but it might have less impact on the design and search engine indexing. It ios always advisable to choose an SEO-friendly shopping cart, which automatically produces keyword-rich URLs relative to your site or items.

Coupon Support
It doesn’t matter what you sell, it is almost guaranteed that your customers are looking for a deal. You can attract your visitors with coupons. Numerous reports show that customers are increasingly on the look out for online coupons. That is why a shopping cart that supports coupon codes will likely do you some good. Without this feature, you are doing nothing but limiting your potential.

Cross-Selling Functionality
Cross-selling is the concept of selling customers additional related products to increase your total per-checkout revenue. A perfect example would be recommending accessories to go along with the apparel you sell. The shopping cart you choose should offer cross-selling functionality as an either a semi or fully automated process. The best e-commerce platforms have systems that relate products and place related items on the corresponding product and checkout pages.

Customer Reviews
Customer reviews are very essential to encourage more sales. The reviews should be genuine. These reviews are like having a peer recommend your store to potential customers. It means you are allowing your customers to market for you. A shopping cart equipped with this feature is very essential.

Sharing and Recommendations
Any potential customer visiting your website should have the ability to share product details via email or in other ways. A good shopping cart application should have a sharing feature, typically as a part of wish list system or to provide suggestions that calls for the customer to complete some type of registration in order to use it.

Today’s e-commerce shopping carts are loaded with features and these are just a few of many. The best part is that with hundreds of features to choose from, you have the luxury to be very selective.

What Do B2B Buyers / Customers Really Want?

For business to business (B2B) buyers, search engines are the primary research source, and one of the top influencers on purchasing decisions. The two factors that remain the most influential to buyers are a vendor's Web site and a word-of-mouth recommendation by a colleague. But as a seller, have you ever thought in the lines of a customer? Have you ever wondered what your buyers will look for in a b2b platform? How you as a seller can give him the maximum satisfaction in your business deals. So what actually a b2b buyer wants ? <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 212px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/Sl2ji_O-r8I/AAAAAAAABus/N70HULMMId8/s320/b2b.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358618953125900226" />

Be personally accountable. Don’t pass the buck somebody else in your firm; I want your skin in the game.

Understand my business. Don’t expect me to answer dozens of questions that you can get answered elsewhere.

Be on my side. Since I’m risking my career doing business with you, I expect you to represent my best interests.

Design the right applications. Don’t burden me with features and functions; tell me how your solution will help my business.

Be easily accessible. If I’m important to you, you’ll answer my email or v-mail within minutes, not hours or days.

Solve my problems. I want you to be thinking about helping my firm, not selling your products.

Be creative in responding to my needs. If you can’t figure out how to help me, I ‘ll get on the web and find someone who can.

Source:blogs.bnet.com/salesmachine/?p=253

Quick SEO Tips

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/Slso_AUz5OI/AAAAAAAABrE/5c5GUPcGct0/s200/quick-and-easy-seo-tips.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357921244571493602" /> Here are quick tips for SEO.

1. If you absolutely MUST use Java script drop down menus, image maps or image links, then put text links somewhere on the page for the spiders to follow.
2. Content is king. So always have good, well-written and unique content. The content should focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase.
3. If content is king, then links are queen. Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link.
4. Don’t be obsessed with PageRank. A site with lower PR can actually outrank one with a higher PR.
5. Be sure you have a unique, keyword focused Title tag on every page of your site. And, if you MUST have the name of your company in it, put it at the end. Unless you are a major brand name.
6. Fresh content can help improve your searchability and add relevancy to your site. Add new content to your pages on a regular basis.
7. Use your keyword phraselinks to your site and within your site for links . In other words, if your target is “blue widgets” then link to “blue widgets” instead of a “Click here” link.
8. Focus on search phrases.
9. Don’t design your web site without considering SEO. Spiders can crawl text, not Flash or images.
10. Use keywords and keyword phrases appropriately in text links, image ALT attributes and even your domain name.
11. Check for canonicalization issues, i.e.www and non-www domains. Decide which you want to use. If http://www.domain.com is your preference, then http://domain.com should redirect to it.
12. Check the link to your home page throughout your site. Is index.html appended to your domain name? If so, you’re splitting your links. Outside links go to http://www.domain.com and internal links go to http://www.domain.com/index.html.
13. Your URL file extension doesn’t matter. You can use .html, .htm, .asp, .php, etc. and it won’t make a difference as far as your SEO is concerned.
14. Got a new web site you want spidered? Submitting through Google’s regular submission form can take weeks. The quickest way to get your site spidered is by getting a link to it through another quality site.
15. Your site needs a blog because search spiders like fresh text. Blog at least three time a week with fresh content to feed those little crawlers.
16. When link building, think quality. One single, good, link can do a lot more for you than a dozen poor quality links.
17. Search engines want natural language content.
18. Not only should your links use keyword anchor text, but the text around the links should also be related to your keywords.
19. Be aware that by using services that block domain ownership information when you register a domain, Google might see you as a potential spammer.
20. When optimizing your blog posts, optimize your post title tag independently from your blog title.
21. Make sure your site is easy to use.
22. Don’t be stingy with linking out. That will encourage others to link to you.
23. Some of your most valuable links might not appear in web sites at all but be in the form of e-mail communications such as newletters and zines.
24. Links from .edu domains are given nice weight by the search engines. Run a search for possible non-profit .edu sites that are looking for sponsors.
25. Give each page a focus on a single keyword phrase. Don’t try to optimize the page for several keywords at once.
26. SEO is useless if you have a weak or non-existent call to action. Make sure your call to action is clear and present.
27. Work on your optimization daily as SEO is not an one shot process.
28. Cater to influential bloggers and authority sites who might link to you, your images, videos, podcasts, etc. or ask to reprint your content.
29. Optimize the text in your RSS feed.
30. Use captions with your images.
31. Pay attention to the context surrounding your images, keyword text, headings, etc.
32. It is better to let your site pages be found naturally by the crawler. Good global navigation and linking will serve more than relying only on an XML Sitemap.
33. Links from a high PageRank site are more important. High PR indicates high trust, so the back links will carry more weight.
34. Use absolute links.
35. Understand social marketing, which is part of SEO. The more you understand about sites like Digg, del.icio.us, Facebook, etc., the better you will be able to compete in search.
36. To get the best chance for your videos to be found by the crawlers, create a video sitemap and list it in your Google Webmaster Central account.
37. Be sure to submit your videos to other quality video sites like Metacafe, AOL, MSN and Yahoo to name a few, rather than onlu YouTube.
38. Surround video content on your pages with keyword rich text.
39. Use the words “image” or “picture” in your photo ALT descriptions and captions. A lot of searches are for a keyword plus one of those words.
41. Add viral components to your web site or blog - reviews, sharing functions, ratings, visitor comments, etc.
42. Broaden your range of services to include video, podcasts, news, social content etc. SEO is not about 10 blue links anymore.
43. When considering a link exchange, check the cache date of the page where your link will be located in Google. The newer the cache date the better. If the page isn’t there or the cache date is more than a month old, the page isn’t much valuable.
44. If you have pages on your site that are very similar and you want only the correct one to be included in the search engines, then place the URL of your preferred page in your sitemaps.

Source: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/55-quick-seo-tips-even-your-mother-would-love/6760/

Relevance of Keywords Optimization in a Web Page: Web Marketing Tip

The primary aim of any search engine optimization campaign is to get listed on Google's first result page. When you take time to find the best keywords for your website, it implies that you have a very long list with many keywords. Selection of right keywords for your site is an art which can either make or break your website. On the Web, potential customers search for the sites they wanted or liked, and if your website doesn’t have those popular keywords they are seeking for, then your websoite is useless. Keywords are the main factors in SEO that help to reach audiences across the web. In simple words, a keyword or keyword phrase is the word or group of words that net users use to search some specific information in Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

Think like a customer when you choose a keyword for your web page. What are the words the customer will use to search your site in search engines. So when writing the content for your site, you need to use words that are not only related to your content, but are popular search words as well. This is called Keyword Optimization, or choosing the most searched keywords related to your site content.

For how many keywords should you optimize a page?

Answer: One.
Yes, it is true that a single keyword or key phrase is sufficient to optimize a single web page, instead of optimizing the page for a number of keywords, which is also difficult to achieve. Use one keyword phrase consisting of several words like "buy inexpensive fashion wallets".

Optimize for one key phrase, get high searchability for many keywords
Always remember, a keyword phrase is more advantageous rather than using a single keyword. The advantages are:

It is much easier to get high rankings for targeted key phrases. This is because here the competition is not as fierce as the competition for one single keyword.

There is much attraction of targeted website visitors in using keyword phrases. People who search for "buy inexpensive fashion wallets" are looking for inexpensive wallets and they are ready to buy. On the other hand, if the only keyword "wallet" is used, then there may be visitors who are just interested in knowing about wallets and not keen on buying.

By optimizing your web page for a key phrase, you automatically optimize your web page for the various individual words of that key phrase. For example, your web page will automatically be optimized for "wallets", "inexpensive wallets" , "fashion wallets" and other keywords if you optimize your page for "buy inexpensive fashion wallets".

Now the next important tip is if you have optimized one of your web pages for that keyword or phrase then you should not optimize the same page for other keywords. If you give more importance on one keyword per page then there is every chance that your web page will get a top listing on Google for that keyword. Optimize one web page for one keyword and optimize as many pages of your website as possible for different but related keywords. In this example, optimize different pages of your website for "buy inexpensive fashion wallets", "find the perfect wallet", "mens wallets", "wallet information", "wallet types", "brown leather wallet", "black wallets", "pocket wallets" etc. Now you should optimize other pages of your website for these keywords. You will get the best possible outcome and ofcourse a higher rank in Google if you optimize different pages of your website for different but related keywords.

The more pages you optimize, the better. If many pages of your website have been optimized for many related keywords then your website will look relevant to the subject (in this example: "wallet"). If search engines think that your website is relevant to a special topic then it will be easier to get high rankings for the individual keywords.

Tips on Searching Potential Suppliers in a B2B Platform

Importers today get suppliers and manufacturers around the world effortlessly by using an online platform. An increasing number of people are searching for products and services to trade locally or globally on business to business portals. Using e-commerce platforms, you can certainly find sellers and supplier from other countries without difficulty and successfully. It is to be noted that in today’s competitive business world, having an excellent product, finest technology and aggressive process is not enough in itself. You have to go for b2b platforms. This will help you to locate, spot, enumerate, and target the customers that are really noteworthy for their businesses. Here are some tips on how to locate potential suppliers and make your trading a success.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uBFt0AvFaDs/SkhuNfTRkAI/AAAAAAAABiE/P9tSBN4zoHA/s400/b2b_commerce_messages.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352649335149531138" />

Everyday new suppliers register with B2B portals. Hence if you do not find your product today you may find it tomorrow. Therefore source online regularly.

If you were unable to locate your exact product and services via online sourcing, then always use the online enquiry form in the website to post your inquiries.

Important points to keep in mind when sending an enquiry to a supplier.

Exactly what you are looking for

The required quantity

Expected price range

Your location

Delivery time solution

Payment Options

Other requirements etc.

If you want a useful and genuine response, you should give enough details. Else sending a vague or incomplete request never serves the purpose. Potential suppliers also do not take them seriously.

Once you are able to locate your supplier then call him/her or talk to the person in charge. There should be no communication gap between the supplier and you.
If you get a chance to meet the supplier face to face then you should never leave such an opportunity because communicating face to face makes it easier to interact and also reduces any issue or problem directly. There wont be any miscommunication in such cases.

Know the background of the suppliers is very important. Some B2B portals help you in checking suppliers’ past manufacturing and export experience. This is important for you to evaluate the risk of buying from a particular supplier.

Check the suppliers product quality. But how?

One should provide the clear picture of what is needed regarding the product quality, material specification, dimensions etc.

Check the quality certificates including material composition reports, independent quality reports, Pre Shipment Information and other evidence.

Getting product samples for assessment is also a good idea. Get a prior sample before the full production.

<li.Visit the factory and check the quality parameters laid by the supplier. As there are times when suppliers may not keep up to the quality which they quote. By visiting the factory you can ask for the evidences for their quality measures such as quality inspection records, procedural flow charts, internal audit reports etc.

Product Quality and Payment Terms
Send your own quality controllers to check product quality. One should never depend on the manufacturers/suppliers in terms of inspection. The quality and inspection should always be done by the buyer before ordering, during the production process and just before the shipment takes off. Always remember not to make the final payment till you are certain of receiving the goods.

Managing a web business during a slow economy brings up two areas of conflict:

First: site owners are working with a low budget or say a tight budget. There is not large enough capital to work with and they are justifiably counting every penny.

Second: everyone else is watching their money making it increasingly difficult to grow sales.

So under these circumstance how do you address these problems so you can make money on a website? Let us consider the following:

If you do not have a lot of financial capital, then better be more creative. Many website owners have more or less minimized marketing and promotional methods. To be creative is more a mental problem than a financial one.

With the internet getting your website visible to others without the use of large capital is easy. There are websites dedicated to marketing for little or no money. The number of free tools available increases every day.

If you do not have money for expensive web hosting, you can use a free blog.

If you cannot pay per click campaigns even then you can concentrate on SEO tactics to draw in traffic. Free or low cost methods when done correctly can help to make money on a website.

Instead of getting depressed because you cannot afford to hire an expensive copy writer, use your energy to learn a new skill or develop one you already have. This is the right time to capitalize on your own individual skills set and knowledge.

Some businesses have it easier compared to others. They market to a section of customers that will buy even during a bad economy. Many have such a strong following they can still turn in profits regardless of the condition of the economy.

Learn from those that are succeeding. Businesses that make money on a website even during a slow economy have spend lots of time on extensive market research. Also, they are adapting. They do not use the same marketing campaign over and over again. That is they won't use a marketing campaign now that they had a year ago.

They tweak their message to fit the needs of their consumers in that moment.

In a tough economic condition, it is not too hard to look at things from your prospect's perspective. Try to think like your consumers. What is the real selling point right now? What is going to make them buy? One really needs to use their creative resources to make money on a website during a recession. This will not only make money but will also save money.

Mistakes of B2B Marketers in SEO

It is evident that today with the growth of e-commerce, B2B marketing professionals have learnt the basics of content optimization and how to make a site user friendly. Once that is done, they turn their focus on link building. No doubt this is good but it may not yield the maximum results if certain website issues aren’t resolved and they remain unaddressed . Here are some of the most common mistakes the b2b marketers make.

Inadequate site architecture

It is seen in many large B2B companies there is no organic landing pages on their website related to the main keyword which can be product or service lines. Its not that they forgot key segments of their business, but rather that they failed to get specific enough. A specific keyword related to your business must be optimized enough so that it lands on the correct page. This means you need to review your business and ensure your site has at least one page that promotes each specific revenue stream.

Lousy meta descriptions
In many cases B2B marketers often leave meta descriptions blank or simply leave it to the software firm to fill something in. This leads to poor descriptions in the search engine results. B2B marketers often write from an internal standpoint, using corporate and internal lingo that doesn’t go well with a common searcher. When you write meta descriptions for B2B, think about what will compel the searcher to click on your search result versus all the others on the page. While you can write as much as you want, Google will only display about 165 characters. So choose your characters wisely to create a keyword-rich, compelling message.

Not analyzing organic landing pages
Many B2B marketers don’t bother to study, evaluate, manage, organic landing pages. Test your organic landing pages for all significant, ranking keywords. There is a chance that a given search phrase rank highly in the search results. But is the page searchers land on the page you want them to land on? If not, optimize a different landing page or make changes to the content at the current landing page.

Not monitoring analytics
No doubt as a b2b marketer, you srutinize analytics associated with PPC landing pages, bounce rates, alternate landing page versions. However organic landing pages rarely see the same rigor, though it is a fact that B2B buyers tend to first look at and click on organic results more. So, research your analytics and do the same for your organic visitors. Look at the organic landing pages. Analyze the bounce rates. Modify landing page content. Tweak meta descriptions.

Failing to optimize printed marketing documents before converting them to the web
B2B marketers post lots of print marketing communications to their websites like PDFs, case studies, white papers, technical papers and product and spec sheets. While they are no doubt valuable information, it is necessary to optimize them. Otherwise it won’t show up in the search results.

Duplicate title tags and meta descriptions
B2B sites most often have duplicate title tags and duplicate meta descriptions. This decreases the chances of your site’s pages to rank well. This implies that you haven’t optimized your site for searchers. Title tags and meta descriptions help determine whether a searcher is actually going to click on your search result. Today, you cannot ignore this. You can easily check for duplicate title tags and meta descriptions using Diagnostics>Content Analysis in Google Webmaster Tools. You can also use Aaron Wall’s Website Health Check Tool.

Twitter Like a Journalist : B2B Marketing Tip

Think as a journalist when you twit. This is one fast growing technique to market your business. But how ? Just follow the following journalism rules:

Make every word count: In Twitter, you have a limited space of mere 140 characters. In news journalism, the news caption should be short and crisp but effective. In journalism school, writing short is to choose your words wisely, and be concise. A single line is sufficient enough to arouse the curiosity of the readers. Same goes with Twitter as well. Keep a tweet really short. This also makes your tweet more “Retweet Friendly,”

Keep it simple: The best news reporters tell a story simply and clearly. Similarly, don’t try to provide too much information into a single tweet. Also link directly to blogs or other online sources. Finally, avoid to fit more into a tweet by the use of abbreviations. Such shorthand might maximize your character count, but they make your tweet read like a teenager’s text message.

Provide context: Journalists do this by plugging in some of the back story on any given news item. On Twitter, offer context by using keywords so that readers can more easily get the gist of a conversation, thread, or topic.

Lead with the good stuff: In journalism, the first paragraph of any news contain enough information to give the reader a solid overview of the entire story. Approach information on Twitter in a similar manner, giving the strongest and most compelling bit in the tweet, and then link to the rest of the story elsewhere.

Write killer headlines: Headlines “sell” a news story or a blog post. Similarly a great tweet invites a reader to click. Author tweets that are short and compelling. This applies to so much for B2B marketers: blog posts titles, subject lines, press release headlines, etc.

Graphics expand on the story: A picture on Twitter tells a story with far more impact.

People make things interesting: News reporters often focus on how people are affected by a given situation or event. On Twitter, it’s also the people that keep it interesting. That means adopting a conversational tone and community spirit is good. And this applies even when you are representing a brand.

Consider the reader: News reporters spend a lot of time coming up with the right angle for a story. On Twitter, be similarly thoughtful in your approach. If you respect your followers similar to the way journalists consider their readers, you’ll spend more time thinking about what to tweet, than you will actually doing it. Your followers will appreciate your efforts. A good question to ask yourself before you tweet - “Will anyone care?” If it is what you ate for breakfast, probably not. If you ate the best pizza of your life, maybe so.

Source: http://blog.reachforce.com/

Downfall in B2B Ads in Recession

Marketing and ad campaign tracking company, The Fournaise Group, has found that the response to B2B ads fell by 19% in the first quarter of 2009. The findings showed that B2B online and offline ad effectiveness has significantly dropped compared to the same period in 2008. In the first quarter of 2008, B2B ads and campaigns tracked by Fournaise had increased by 9% when the market was healthier.

The 2009 results have shortened the B2B lead over B2C, where the response rate fell by 21%. According to Jerome Fontaine, chief tracker at Fornaise, in the past B2B has performed better than B2C - however, the close margins for decreased ad and marketing spend are a depiction of the economic depression on companies that are tightening their belts and limiting spending.

In the B2B market, the mature market including Europe, US and Australia saw ad response fall above the global average of 27%. In developing market such as China and India, the fall was less significant at 12%. "In these countries the GDP slowed to 6% therefore their tightening is less," explains Jerome.

The research also used response to ads to determine areas where market growth was positive. Industries reporting falls of above 19% were IT, teleco and hotels that have all been affected by budget cuts. However, better results were reported for SAAS and outsourced services, whch are offering more cost-effective solutions for companies. The research was based on Fornaise tracking technology that measures its clients online and offline ad campaigns to determine if it has delivered tangible and intangible results when engaging with target audiences.

Wal Mart Venturing Into India

The world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart will open its first venture in India’s vast consumer market. Wal-Mart teamed up with local Bharti Enterprises in joint venture that will be called Best Price Modern Wholesale. The first store of the joint venture with Bharti Enterprises, which opened in Amritsar on Saturday, 13th June' 2009 is a cash-and-carry outlet. Such stores don’t sell to end-users, but to retailers and middlemen. This is the only format under which foreign retail chains are allowed in India. It will serve small stores, fruit and vegetable sellers, hotels, restaurants and other business outlets. Due to India's strict foreign investment rules, no overseas chains are allowed in the retail sector, leaving aside single-brand outlets like Nokia or Reebok. The reason behind this is to protect the country’s 15 million “mom-and-pop” stores.

Foreign businesses such as Wal-Mart can only be wholesalers and must partner with domestic companies to enter the retail market, valued at 400 billion dollars and forecast to grow rapidly in the coming years. Wal-Mart hopes it can build a successful partnership with the mom-and-pop family stores, which makes up 95% of India's retail landscape. "We're aiming to supply to mom-and-pop stores under one roof at outstanding prices," said Raj Jain, a 27-year business veteran who joined Wal-Mart as president of emerging markets in 2006 and spearheaded its entry into India. Small retailers’ opposition to the entry of big foreign stores such as Wal-Mart has played a big part in the left-of-center government's refusal to open up the sector to international chains. "We hope the government will slowly open FDI in retailing so large investments can flow into the supply chain, improving the infrastructure," Jain said.

Food waste due to improper storage and transport, for example, "is 30 to 40 percent so modernization is critical," he said. But Jain said Wal-Mart recognized change in India had to be gradual. "There's only a certain pace at which you can move and it can't be faster than people want. It's not going to happen in a hurry." Wal-Mart already has international operations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua and Britain.

“There is a crying need for a cash-and-carry business in India,” said Rajan Bharti Mittal, vice-chairman and MD, Bharti Enterprises. “The share of organised retail — 5 per cent — in India is very low and is going to rise. With this venture, we hope to reduce wastages and inefficiencies in the wholesale business, passing the benefits to customers.” Fourteen more stores are planned across India over three-four years with an investment of Rs 500 crore.

6 C's of Content Marketing

Customer: Who is your customer?

Community: How do you build and interact with your community?

Content: What content do you need to create and distribute?

Conversation: How do you enable and engage in conversations?

Continuity: Do you have continuity in your marketing?

Consistency: Are your marketing message consistent?

<span="full past">
For more information, visit http://www.slideshare.net/ambal/clickdocuments-6-cs-of-content-marketing

Expert Promotions of Websites through Blogging

There is no doubt about the fact that a well written topical blog can significantly help out your website. So why dont you start it? Many people stay away from writing a blog for lack of time to write posts or for limited ideas on what to write about. But if you give that extra time to get some useful content, you can do wonders to your website. A blog that is updated regularly gets spidered by Google often. This helps in improving search rankings considerably. A well established website and regularly updated blog can help in reaching ranking #1 in Google for relevant phrases literally within a few hours of posting. Blogs don't have to be a major undertaking, spending only an hour or two daily or weekly can have you seeing results in no time.

Advantages of adding a blog to your website

Increased Rankings: By boosting your content, you increase the value and relevance of your site. The more new stuff you add, the more of an authority you make your site, and this helps to improve your overall search rankings. It can also help you obtain rankings for "long tailed search phrases". These phrases are those that are less commonly searched, and usually exceed 3 or 4 words in length. Blogs are useful for getting rankings on long tailed search phrases. By writing blog posts with your target phrases in mind, you help improve your overall rankings.

Increased Traffic: Blogs are great for increasing traffic. If your blog is interesting, you will get some regular visitors to your site as readers check back for new posts. If people really like your blog, they will spread the word. This will result in even more visitors.

Credibility: By blogging regularly about your industry you will help to establish yourself as an expert. An active blog can help people relate to you and trust you.

Links: A good, well written blog can result in free one way links to your site. Try to squeeze in a link or two into your posts and direct them to other internal pages on your website.

Blog Post Ideas
Here are some ideas, some topics to help you start if you are still thinking as to what to wtite about

New product launches

Press releases

How to's related to your product or service

Answers to reader comments

Industry relevant news

Posts revolving around relevant long tailed phrases

In depth product descriptions or tutorials

Company history

Reviews of related products, services or online tools

Blogs are relevant for all industries. A little creativity, research and thinking can help you come up with ideas for posts. If you've been putting off the blogging idea for some time, consider getting started now. There is nothing to lose but definitely you gain , maybe not immediately but in the long run.

Right B2B e-Marketplaces for SMEs: Tips of selecting

There are increasing amount of SMEs opting for B2B e-Marketplace so that they can run the global trade. However in most cases they do not have much idea as a result of which they just register as free members in all B2B portals. They use the free services available like posting the product to sell online. This is done in all the b2b portals. This is time consuming and at the same it does not serve the main purpose. Here are some tips for SME selecting right B2B e-Marketplaces:

It is advisable to use a bi-lingual information display and user interface. Most international B2B portals only provide the English services to their users. In countries like China, the portals in China separate the Chinese site and English site so that they serve the China market and overseas market. The information shown on both sites are different. If this is the case, the company and product's information cannot be promoted to the both Chinese and International markets concurrently. So the SME should select B2B sites that provides the bi-lingual information for the same piece of informatio

Consider the maturity of B2B portal. There are a number of B2B portals. Check the maturity of the portal.Check the following:
a)The update of product and selling lead information. The mature B2B portal has up-to-date information display online daily. You simply check the offer to sell and product catalog part for each site and see how latest information they have now. b)The popularity on discussion forum. If the portal is common, many people will discuss it on the online forum. c)The web content. A mature B2B site should have rich content in international or local trade.

The price of B2B service. The B2B service providers should have a reasonable pricing for their services. As we are experiencing the financial recession, the export market is getting smaller and the profit margin is becoming lower. The SMEs need to develop the new markets. In addition they require cost cutting for marketing activities. The service of B2B e-Marketplace is huge. In other words, the services to different members are just replicated, not customized. The operational cost per member should be low. The B2B online services should be cheaper and most SME should be able to afford it.

Ecommerce boom in China: Who is going to benefit?

According to a recent research report, Chinese e-commerce grew over 120% last year (2008), and this is expected to grow very rapidly in the next 3 to 5 years. Now large companies like Mcdonald, Haier, Gome, KFC, Lancome are all opting for ecommerce. Who will benefit from this China's ecommerce boom? Consumers of course, and also some businesses as well. Companies that are already in this industry will no doubt thrive on the growth.

Alibaba, is the largest B2B ecommerce platform in the world. It also owns Taobao.com, the largest C2C website in China. Though Taobao is not very proftable due to the free listing strategy (beats ebay out of China this way), the portal does have a dominant position in the B2b market and could quickly turn into a cash machine once good model is implemented. The new ad system of this domain has a pretty good feedback. Other large ecommerce companies such as dangdang.com and 360buy.com will likely to be on a short list of future public companies.

Baidu, and other search engines will be the largest indirect benefitors. They have been largely relying on advertising money from traditional SMEs. It's all going to start to change once ecommerce takes off. Google has hugely benefited from ecommerce. Chinese search engines will also benefit. However, baidu has certain minor drawbacks such as its technology and some doubtful business practices. SEM for ecommerce is very much data-oriented. Baidu need to have better technology so that it can support advanced optimization and bidding. Baidu is also known for its somewhat bad practices like dont allow tracking, high fraud clicking, blacklist etc. They have to change before its too late. However they have a strong position in the market and that is the good thing about them and consumers dont have any other good alternatives to go to. (well google.cn is good, but for chinese its so hard to spell)

Portal and vertical media will benefit as well. A lot of ecommerce companies will have to depend on advertising on portal sites to market their brands. Verticals are very good places to advertise to reach the target audience. We have already seen that the search engine traffic is not enough for ecommerce businesses in China. Thus portals and verticals have the likelihood of becoming good complimentaries of traffic source for large ecommerce businesses.

Networks, mostly performance based will experience a large growth as well. Analaytics, leads generation, SEM based companies, and web consulting companies will somewhat benefit from ecommerce boom as well. Ecommerce will bring Chinese online advertising to a new level.

What Does Every Successful Website Needs?

You have a website which is live on the Internet for everyone to see. Nowadays website promotion has taken an altogether different approach. Different methods are there to promote your site. A very popular way is through video marketing. According to a recent report, YouTube has today become one of the most-used search engine after Google. It sees more searches than either Yahoo or MSN. This is really interesting. Why not use YouTube as an effective means to increase traffic to our websites? Usually video marketing is considered by many as popular means of young kids to look for their favorite movies, songs, games, stunts and even porn videos. But this is not the actual fact. YouTube could be efficiently harnessed for the sake of web marketers.

Making The Video
Dont make a flashy and lengthy video to promote your website. Just take a digi cam and take video of any topic or product related to your website. You can also record your voice and read the content of your site. Save your video in your personal computer.

Upload The Video
Sign up for a free YouTube account. Upload the video from your PC. Once the video is uploaded, give an appropriate name to it. If you are reusing the content of an existing article of your website, then use the article title as video title and include a link back to your website in the description. It is better to do a number of videos as more you have the better will be your traffic levels. Enable comments on your videos in your YouTube account. This will help viewer to pass comments on your video and they can also ask questions related to your site, product or video.

Why a video marketing works more?
You can also add your YouTube video to your site. How does a brain functions? Our brains absorbs information from all our senses. Groundbreaking research in the 70s has shown that every person has a preferred learning modality, which could be audial, visual, and kinesthetic. It was also discovered through many tests and studies that most people like to learn visually. They absorb information when they see things. Some studies even put the figure as high as 65%, who recall and gather information best by seeing.

That is one reason which we can cite on why you should add video to your web site? Videos can make a huge difference to display your message. You can state something but when you show a picture of it, well, there is an immediate effect. Thus for a modern day marketer, adding video to your web site is a popular way to get your message across to thousands of viewers.

Also, when you add video to your web site, you keep visitors there longer. The longer a visitor stays on your site the greater the chance of them to browse further on your site, or clicking on the link that will lead to the action you want.

Big Myths of Internet Marketing

You are all aware of “earn money online”. This is one tag line which prompts you to use your credit card immediately to get into that "online opportunity". But be careful. There are some truths you desperately need to know.

It is a fact that almost 95% of people trying to make money online are FAILING to make a profit at all. Before starting anything new, it is better to spot the 'red-flags' that are being used to lure you away from your money. It is important to know the reality of Internet marketing. Internet marketing is very different from what is being promoted in most online programs.

So what are these common myths?
Self-proclaimed "Gurus": An e-book author or a program owner creates the impression as real successful people by giving themselves a catchy nick-name. You promote your own personal brand and there is nothing wrong in it. But you should also have an idea about what their product is. In case you have no idea what their product and you get to know only when you have paid for it then it is simply a marketing ploy.

Quick riches: It is also a fact that most people will fall for the ploy of quick riches! We all love to be rich quickly and easily and that too without doing much for it! You see money making websites with promotional line like "From Bankruptcy to $150,000 in 30 days". Of course, it is almost always a lie! But even then it is a very powerful technique that people falls prey every single minute of the day.

The "Do-Nothing" programs: This is same like “quick riches program” but this is more to appeal to our innate laziness. It is true that we want more and more money but with very little effort. You will see online opportunities that advertise their site by suitable tag line like "You don't have to refer others", or,"You don't have to do any work at all"... When you read such advertisements, you are bound to get tempted. But beware ! The truth is that some marketer knows that there are enough desperate or gullible people out there who will definitely do not hesitate to buy into this nonsense and hand over their money.

Now let us use our common sense. Do you think such easy earned money facility is available in conventional offline business, where you make money without doing anything? There isn't one! So how do you think such facility can exist only in online businesses? Why the exception? Every one should know that all businesses to be successful require work! These common myths allure people to spend their money and it is they who constitute that 95% of people who fail to make money online! People join without too much thought and then a few months later they realize that they aren't making any money and quit!

Note: http://www.site-reference.com/articles/General/The-3-Biggest-Lies-Of-Internet-Marketing.html

B2B Trade Portal on Glass Beads Manufactures

Glass beads are highly attractive in the world of beads.
