Usher has a new album, titled "Raymond vs Raymond", to be released on March 30th. I hope that does not really happen because I think it will be career suicide for him. I do recall that earlier this year, amongst other things, he had a laptop of unreleashed songs stolen from his car. So I'm hoping he pulls an 8701 with this album. Remember that album was pushed back and later released on 8/7/01 back in 2001. Ushers last album "Here I stand" did not do very well at all, like his leading single, selling copies of that CD was like "Moving Mountains". Currently there has to be at least 10 songs leaked from this forthcoming album, which would be over half an album! Most are featuring another artist, in fact I have only come across 2 leaked songs that did not feature another artist. He might as welled names the album "Usher featuring...", better yet "Featuring Usher" and only do hooks and ad-lib's.

***UPDATE***

The album actually ended being released 5 days sooner, on March 26, 2010,for digital download when you pre-ordered the physical album. Since the release day was on my birthday I went ahead and ordered it from the usher website. I loved this album when it came out then as it seemed to capture the moment of life and music for the millennial generation, IMO.

My favorite song was a tie between "Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)" and "There Goes My Baby" but I would mostly listen to the entire album for the first month of owning it. I also feel that the albums closing song "Making Love (Into the Night)" was slept on heavily.

Also I loved the song "Okay", I felt that he was making his preliminary EDM/Trap transition with that song. This is in hindsight, of course, especially when you pair that song with the albums lead single "OMG" (which was one of my fav songs too).

***another UPDATE***

Five months later a Deluxe Edition version of this album was released on August 24, 2010. This edition of the album was a double disc set, with the 2nd disc consisting of 8 additional songs. These 8 songs - particularly "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love feat. Pitbull", "Hot Tottie feat. Jay-Z", and "Somebody to Love feat. Justin Bieber" - cemented Ushers hiatus from R&B and into the EDM/Trap sub-genres, IMO of course.

So what do you get when you cross a hockey bag, a Haitian and an SUV crossing the Canadian boarder into the United States?

Two Virginia sisters... are in jail after allegedly trying to smuggle a Haitian man inside a hockey bag into the U.S. The Haitian lover man, was to be deported back in 2006 but fled to Canada. So loveless in VA coaxed her sister into traveling to Canada to smuggle her Haitian Mandingo Warrior back to Virginia, IN A HOCKEY BAG! - so they could get married. I checked and the largest hockey bag is a lil under 4 ft long, 2 ft tall & 2 ft wide, so that could not have been the most comfortable accommodations for the Haitian play boy. I'm pretty sure when the Canadian boarder patrol guy looked at their luggage he noticed the hocket bag looked like it had oddly shaped equipment in their. Plus isn't Canada like the birthplace of Hockey? He knew those brawds weren't on the Olympic team!

They would have had better luck rolling him up in a rug

Forest Whitaker is upset that his star studded film - which co-stars Lil' Wayne, Bow Wow, Isaiah Washington, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Gaston - went straight to video and didn't get a chance at the theaters.

What is the movie about?

Hurricane Season, is a film based on the inspirational story of a New Orleans high school basketball coach whose team of cast-off kids wins the state championship.

Well Ummm...

NOT ANOTHER BASKEBALL MOVIE! Ha Haaa, the plot is always the same. The team either use to suck or are misfits of some type who end up winning the big game. I'm just saying, the movie is probably fantastic but these movies don't do well unless they are overtly promoted i.e. Coach Carter. Plus Coach Carter played to their audience and threw in a solid soundtrack album to further help with promoting the movie, which was great by the way. Okay, actually I never watched Coach Carter because I'M TIRED OF BASKETBALL MOVIES!!

So like 2 weeks ago I seen this guy duck off the bus DURING A SNOW STORM after he exclaimed, "Awe Shit! I gotta go there go my baby momma I can let her see me!" That same guy was on the bus stop outside the office this evening & she ran up on that nigga sumthan smoooooootttttthhhh. He was on the corner waiting on the bus, talkin shit & she crept up behing him & commenced to WHOOPIN HIS ASS MR POST MAN!!!!

I don't know where that girl could have possibly been going at damn near 11 o'clock at night, during a snow storm, with a 3-4 month old baby; Or where the hell she was coming from for that matter. After old dude ducked off the bus that night, I know she felt obscure because everyone heard what he said, therefore all eyes where on her when she got on the bus, AND she had that "what the fuck is everyone looking at" look.

HA, how lucky am I to know the endeavors of these people and I don't even know a nickname.

It was real ugly out there. The cops came and blocked the entrance to the office and had a damn peer mediation, GTFOH!

Jesus aint the reason & Santa aint either

Marry Christmas everyone, whatever that means...

Being born in America, starting with our earliest memories from childhood, we are told about Santa Claus - and if you are Christian this is paralleled with the birth of Christ. As we grow older its revealed that Santa is fictitious and, in theses days, most of us come to learn that Christ was not born during the winter months; But why is this?

Without having to get too involved in the pagan origins of Christmas (Google it), these are the basics...

The Pagan Origin

Its actually all starts on December 21 (in America), which is the 1st day of the winter solstice. Through modern day knowledge, we know that after this day the day began to get longer once again. The growing of daylight becomes most noticeable on December 25, thus the reason its on that specific date. This brings us to the "sun god" references. Its said that the sun is dying when the "fall equinox" begins because days are getting shorter. So the pagans celebrated the "birth" or "rebirth" of the sun once the winter solstice began.

This brings us to the story of Nimrod (here is one version). In short, Nimrod was the ruler of Ancient Babylon, which was founded around the 23rd century BC (history of Babylon). Nimrod married his own mother, Semiramis, who was also his sister. On a side note, this was after "The Great Flood", so maybe that was how they repopulated the earth... MAYBE. There are adverse accounts but when Nimrod died Semiramis claimed that she made a memorial for Nimrod and an evergreen tree sprang up from there, which is where the christmas tree comes from. Remember she was queen too, so when she claimed that the tree was a symbol of Nimrod returning "in spirit" and bringing the "gifts of life", it was not questioned.

There is a lot more to this story but I'm keeping it simple.

How the birth Christ come into play

So this pagan worship had been going on for many years before Christ was born. Between the Nimrod story and Christ being born, people who believed in only one God always regarded this as pagan worship. In fairness I will not get too religious but many reference to what we have come to know as Christmas, and the Nimrod/sun god/god of nature/god of life, are mentioned throughout the old testament of the bible (here is one reference).

Once again we know that Christ was not born during the winter months. It is said that maybe some 200-300 years after the death of Christ that the Pope (which would make it more Catholic than Christian, in my opinion) decided that the birth of Christ would be able to compete with the pagan worship or possibly forgo it up over time.

Again, there is more too it but I'm keeping it simple.

Modern Day Christmas/Rebirth of the Sun

Lets tie this together.

So the pagan worship/holiday was to celebrate the rebirth of the sun and/or the rebirth of nature in general. The evergreen/christmas tree is the symbol of the PAGAN holiday due to the fact that it is one of the few things in nature that does not "die" during the winter. People worship/worshiped this tree because they believe that if the put it in their houses that it would also invoke life for them. Remember that decorating the tree and leaving presents under the tree is done to make sure that the "sun god" comes and restores life to you. Also note that in order to put a present under a "christmas tree" you have to bow to the tree first.

The Christians/Roman Catholics thought, since it is not precisely known when Christ was born, that celebrating his birth at this time of year would counteract the pagan worship. The mindset being that when the pagans celebrate death we, believers in God, would celebrate life and vice-versa(which leads to Easter but I'll save that post for Easter). Basically, since we do not know the actual day, this will be the day we commemorate the birth of Christ.

Unbeknown to the Pope of the Roman Catholic church, of way back when, was the eventual mutation and mesh of BOTH celebrations that would occur. Santa Claus is a personification of Nimrod. Santa Claus is sang about and acclimated with god-like abilities. Santa Claus is not real, we know he is not, but through "tradition" we are suppose to deceive our children in to partaking in IDOL WORSHIP because they will get PRESENTS if they do. I mean, as a child i was told if I did not think Santa was real then "I don't get no gifts".

The name of the Christian holiday (CHRIST-mas) eventually became the veil that Nimrod has been able to be continuously WORSHIPED for THOUSANDS OF YEARS under.

Longer than we have been celebrating Christ!

The tree and the gifts are still the most identifiable attributes of Christ coming to the masses (the literary meaning of Christmas).

Christians receive the largest amount of blame for the pagan worship being perpetuated for so long. Instead of leaving all of the paganism out of Christmas they have incorporated the actual IDOL WORSHIP into the celebration of Christ. I'm all for a time of the year when we can show kindness to true friends & loved ones and what better time to do that than when we celebrate the birth of Christ!

Gone Head...

On this first note I can only speak for myself. Last Friday, when Jay-Z's latest single DOA was aired, on Hot97 in New York, like I said before, I was excited. AGAIN, not because of Jay-Z, per say, and not because the song was SO HAWT. I was estatic that music lovers ALL OVER THE WORLD were at their computer and radios anticipating new music. Not only that but an exclusive that would have been exclusive to only one city, through modern technology, was available to the world via old school radio waves. ENOUGH OF THAT NOW...

What I really want to say

It seems that more people are pretty up in arms about it. The ploy was to create a divide about weather to be for or against the AUTOTUNE, and it seems to be working. I heard a "response" of course by somebody probably recording in their basement. Even Wyclef and Nick Cannon have a Autotune dis record. Now I'm hearing and reading about all these extra sensative people upset that Jay-Z is attacking autotune. Acutually he attacking autotune using RAPPERS - I mean, he did say "get back to RAPPIN, you T-Pain-ing too much" (not get back to singing, get back to rapping). Which only brings 2 rappers to my mind. The autotune is not going to die I think better choice of an autotune records popularity will be brought into effect.

PRIME EXAMPLE...

This "Jumpin out the window" song is/was and FOREVER will be WACK ASS HELL. I think we all can honestly agree that that song only got air play because it was on autotune (same can be said for the "pop champaign" song with Jim Jones - OMG). So there is a serious problem with "The Industry" rewarding artist with air play because of their ability to make a song with autotune on it. Its bad enough we get force fed the other crap, now every other song got to have some MAX HEADROOM soundin' ass muh fuggah on it?

GAWD I HOPE NOT!

The two rappers that use this autotune are Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Now I can Not say this was aimed at them because Jigga mentions both of theses guy in the "DOA" song, and not in a negative manner. PLus, they both "changed genres" for their autotune ladden albums, though those songs will/are still on rotation on your local HIP HOP station.

WAIT!

There is one more rapper that uses autotune quite a bit

Maybe HE is the reason
the "Death of Autotune" banwagon
is not quickly over crowded...

Every one is commenting on Jay-Z's latest release, a single entitled "DOA: Death of the Autotune". I've heard everything from, "Jay-Z is trying to take money away from artist" to "its not a hot song, he could have done better" to "Its just a way for him to come back"...

I tend to agree with all those statements. Thing is, we are missing what truly happened on Friday evening. Lets see, from anywhere IN THE WORLD, that had Internet access, you could have heard this debut LIVE. I do not think that has ever been done before, Has it?

Most people theses days can not even get a good album release date due to leaks. Some artist leak their own music to get a "buzz" going. Some artist even build buzz from saying it will be release for a year or so, to build anticipation for the album. Then we have to think about all these songs that get debuted as "downloads".

"Back in the days", I'm talking like the origin of hip hop days, late 70's early 80's, this is how all rap songs got out. The KRS1's and Juice Crew All-Stars (I will not make this a naming showcase) they would record at the studio then run down to the radio station and give the tape to the DJ. Of Course that can not happen today, TOO MANY NIGGAS WANNA RAP!

Fact is DOA could have been the worst track in Hip hop History and it still would have received the largest audience a single ever debuted. At least that what excited me. I know that not how most viewed it though and thats why we collectively get taken. Its was nothing more than a great marketing/publicity ploy.
