Situated in the Samoa and formed due to a huge basaltic shield volcano rising from the sea bed of the Pacific, the Upolu island is an intrigue for all tourists and a place of interest for those who come to this land of Samoa.

Around 75 kilometres long, and spanning over 434 square metres, this is second largest area in the Samoa Islands. Located to the east of the SAvai’i Island, it has its capital city Apia in the middle of the northern coast. The Falelo International Airport is found on the western part of the Upolu Island.

Though the island does not have any history of any volcanic eruptions, the lava here is only a few thousand years old. The island is called Upolu after the first woman on the island. It is said that this first female on the island was called Upolu.

In the year 1841, the United States Exploring Expedition had Upolu as one of the bombarding destinations. Today Upolu is a much visited travel locale and is also famous in the Guinness Book of World Records as being the place where the smallest spider species have been found. This spider according to the Guinness Book is the size of a full stop on a page.

Upolu is also popular as the site of film shooting for the Survivor : Samoa. This is a series in the CBS competitive reality series. Besides, this Heroes vs. Villains, Survivor : South pacific , and Survivor : one World, all have been shot at Upolu. This island also was the venue for the WWASP School and was known as Paradise Cove from 1994. However it was shut down by the Samoan authorities as they said the island was being abused.

Today Upolu Island has the charming city of Apia as its capital and here you could get to see the best travel delights. Apia is a lovely town with a lot of attractive interests.

Apia has a pleasant stretch of road on the beachside who houses many restaurants, shops and hotels. Tourists coming to Upolu love to walk on this road and enjoy this pleasant and memorable promenade. There is not much sand left in the beach, and today this is normally frequented by the small kids for swimming. Vaiala is the only beach region in Apia today and this still has many beach enthusiasts coming here to get the best ocean views and also to enjoy snorkeling here at the Palolo Deep Marine Reserve. Here the tourists love to enjoy with the deep blue hole and the colourful fish that are so fascinating for the eye.

When a tourist comes to Apia he is sure to check out some of the best hotels which so form a part of the travel here. There are luxury hotels and motels, small live in cottages and beautiful rental accommodations. With the best facilities all these hotels give good service and also a good comfortable stay. The Vaiala Beach Cottage is just around 15 minutes walk from downtown and has many families staying here as it can accommodate up to 5 people.

Also you have the Catholic Church at Apia which is one of the best examples of Samoa architecture. The entire place has a laid back attitude which makes you want to just relax and enjoy the ambience here. There is a small Samoa Museum on the Beach Road which introduces you to the finer aspects of the local culture and traditions.

With the other travel attractions as the Police Band Parade, the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, the markets and Papasee’a natural sliding rock , the Tanuampua rainforest zone, and the Faleata golf course, a visit to Upolu Island is not going to be without the expected thrill, fun and excitement of a travel destination.

Fiji is a land of ultimate excitement, enchanting locales and exotic experiences. While here, you should surely make it a point to visit the beautiful Lomaiviti Group which form a major tourist attraction here.

A perfect combination of a group of exotic islands, the Lomaiviti group of Fijian islands give ideal travel pleasures to all those who are in search of great escapades.

These islands were first sighted in the year 1789 by one Captain William Bligh when he was on his great voyage to Timor as his crew was cast adrift in the Mutiny.

Also known as the “Fiji’s Big fish Capital” the Lomaiviti Group has in all seven important islands which include the Moturiki, the Ovalau, Namenalala, Batiki, Wakaya, Koro and the Makogai. Smaller islands dot this island region and make this a perfect island paradise for all island lovers.

Levuka is the isolated volcanic island here which is in the centre of the Fiji island group.

Earlier a copra trade centre, today it has a major fishing industry and involves the processes of fishing, and cannery. Today, Levuka is a major market and provides all the recreation, transport and service to the villages and the islands of the Lomaiviti group.

Then you have the Caqalai Island which is around 10 minutes by foot and is the place where the backpackers love to come and get refreshed. There is a church here that you could go to on Sundays. Then there is the lovo or underground cooking which is very famous here.

Go to the Leluvia Island and enjoy this 17 hectare expanse of tropical vegetation and coconut trees. Enjoy the pristine surroundings of this lovely beach island which is an absolute pleasure for all and a perfect paradise for many. With the ideal snorkeling and diving facilities this is an island that you wouldn’t want to miss.

The Moturiki Island is another great island destination of the Lomaiviti Group. Enjoy the pleasures of knowing the history of this place. It is said that the body of a 2,600 year old female skeleton was discovered in this place on the south eastern coast sometime in the year 2002. There were remains of a lapital pottery sample that shows a link between this and the Santa Cruz Islands in the region of Solomon going back some 3,170 years. This island has great beaches and interesting travel experiences, so make sure that you gear yourself to visit this place if you are in Fiji.

Then of course you have the Naigani Island which is another beautiful fantasy zone with just a small Fijian village. With greatly convenient accommodation facilities and with activities like snorkeling that are famous here, you would surely find this a perfect holiday getaway spot.

Visit the Yanuca Lai Lai which is a small island where the first 463 Indian born labourers set foot sometime in the year 1879. These immigrants spent around two months in complete quarantine as small pox and cholera had manifested in the ship they had landed. Today this place has great tourist pleasures with facilities for backpacking also available.

The Gau Island is another major tourist attraction in the Lomaiviti Group. This is the fifth largest Fijian island and has around 16 villages with more than 13 settlements. With a fantastic swimming pool with hot springs, the Somosomo village is a great attraction with its natural bathing pool. There is the Bure Kalou which is the only remaining pagan temple which is an intriguing tourist attraction. Snorkeling is popular here and this island is an ideal tourist haven.

When you come to Fiji then you shouldn’t miss to see the lovely and intriguing villages here. So enjoy this vacation by visiting one of these villages and more and treat yourself to something beyond imagination and something that is out of the box.

Ravi Ravi

Visit the village of Ravi Ravi which is the oldest village in the region of Bequa and go back to a time of around 200 years. Here is where the Fijians are believed to have settled initially in the Bequa Island. Ravi Ravi means to have something to lean on. This is a little away from the Bequa Bay Resort which has fascinating expeditions under the sea and travellers can also avail of the limited budget options that tour operators offer to come to Ravi Ravi. This is a great option to enjoy a Fiji vacation and is inclusive of staying in a hotel and those comforts. Located on the Bequa coast it faces the Viti Levu mainland. The resort here is totally supported with related facilities and you can also enjoy the best water sport facilities here. The locals are very friendly here and you could be guided by them whenever you feel you need help.

Situated around 17.5km from the main island of Tonga, in Tongatapu, the Eua Island is a lovely land filled with ideal travel pleasures and is famous for the unique features that are very special to this place. With the best sights of the low lying beaches on the western part of this majestic cliff, the Eua Island has got some of the best tropical rain forest features and offers ideal tour delights. This is in fact the largest in the Tonga kingdom and offers ideal sights in a paradise land.

Visit this highest island of the Tonga group and find the pleasures of a land that is geographically not related to Tonga. It is much much older. Eua is actually the least developed island in the Tonga group. So if you want an island tour with pleasures of a restaurant and a bar, nightclubs and such pleasures then Eua is definitely not the place to be in. For this is a land that offers tranquility and peace and also beauty with the ideal sights of a great paradise.

With a great tradition and ideal culture, this is a place where you would love to see the locals drinking the Kava Tonga in the community halls and all are welcome to join this session. The tapa cloth makes a sound here and it is present in almost all the villages alongwith the lovely sights of the local woman weaving their mats, ta’avala, and baskets. Ta’avala are the baskets that you wear. The women here are happier to share the craft with us and show the basic ways of how to weave these mats.

Eua is the best trekking zone in this part of South Pacific and the treks here are lovely with the pleasures of rainforests offering the sight of the Banyan trees which are believed to be more than 800 years old. With the ideal delights of a pine plantation along cliffs and ridges, this is certainly a beautiful place to be in and has the best pleasures of grassy plains where you would find a lot of wild horses. These rock gardens here are the main source of pleasure to many and it is really interesting to see the beautiful archways made of limestone and the fascinating beaches come to life here.

Enjoy the best camping facilities and exciting horse riding pleasures here in Eua Island and experience the thrill of caving, rock climbing and scuba diving in this beautiful paradise in Tonga. Then whale watching is another favourite pastime of many people here and this is normally done from small boats and from land and thus the tours to this Island are very unique and special.

Eua Island is a perfect holiday spot for those who want a serene ambience and a quiet surrounding and the Hideaway here is a local operation and was founded sometime in the year 2000. It was Sefesi and his son Taki who founded this and this is a beautiful accommodation on the banks of the ocean and with the sounds of the waves against the reefs, the Eua pleasures get double folded.

As you watch the whales play here, the entire effort of reaching this place seems worthwhile. So if you want the ideal pleasures of a lovely land, then do visit the Hideaway and enjoy the whale watching pleasures here and also experience the hiking and Trekking tours that are organized for tourists here. The Hideaway also has its own restaurant and bar facilities and gives some great local food, Tonga cuisine and delicious European food.

Then of course you shouldn’t miss the National Park here in the Tonga Kingdom. A perfect paradise this is a hiker’s dream come true region. This park is located on the eastern coast of Eua. The National Park is a unique destination with a lot of flora and fauna and has the best kinds of trees and plants which totally fulfill a tourist’s requirement. Eua thus offers a combination of animal pleasures and floral ambience.

The Humpbacks migrated from Antarctica to Tonga and thus Eua today has a lot of such sights here. The Humpback whales are popular here and whale watching is a great attraction in the months of July to November in Eua. The Humpbacks feed on the Krill which is a fascinating crustacean here. Antarctica has a rich marine atmosphere of Krill and the Humpback thus have a whale of a time here!

Come to the land of the American Samoa and enjoy the pleasures of being in a different land. This is the perfect place to have a lot of excitement and pleasures. While here, enjoy the sight of the Pago Pago International Airport and experience the pleasures of being in a land of beautiful travel memories. This Pago Pago International Airport is also called the Tafuna Airport is around 7 miles from the business district of Pago Pago and is in the island of Tutuila in the American Samoa which is an unincorporated territory of the United States of America.

The Pago Pago International Airport and the initial military field of Tafuna were used initially for all the commercial air service of trans pacific air when Pan Airways started services to New Zealand and Australia from Honolulu. The Pago Pago International Airport opened its jet service in the year 1964 so that tourism could be encouraged and a new local economy could be started.

The airport became a stopover when the commercial passenger aviation period got over and this airport thus had a lot of cargo carriers coming here because of the low fuel cost and also the low landing fees which prevailed at that time. So the Kalitta Air Evergreen International Airlines, the Polar Air Cargo and other such cargo carriers provided daily Boeing 747 cargo flights to Pago Pago from the Asia Pacific and the US between the years 1990 to 2006.
The only airline that serves at the Pago Pago International Airport is the Hawaiian Airlines. Then the Aloha Airlines gave a run here with the help of the Government of American Samoa. This Rarotongo Honolulu route lasted for around 11 months and then was taken out of the Pago Pago and many other routes in the South Pacific because of some financial issues. So now the weekly cargo flights from Honolulu are provided by the Asia Pacific Airlines.

It is really not know if any other major US airline would be able to serve the Pago Pago in the future and be able to compete with the mighty Hawaii Airline. But the Government here in the American Samoa is considering overcoming the US Cabotage rules and helping the air carriers to serve Pago Pago. South West Airlines has been requested to service Pago Pago in the recent times.

American Samoa which is a group of seven islands lies around 100 km from the region of Apia in the Independent Samoa. There are around six flights that fly from Apia in the Western Samoa region to Pago Pago Airport.

Tutuila Island is the most populated island of the American Samoa group. With the rugged coastal strip and the small beaches dotting the region, this is a great land with mountains forming the background. The ambience of the tropical rain forest makes it a great travel destination and Pago Pago is a really attractive port and harbour. The island is a simple land with small villages on the coast. The lovely scenic beauty here is a sight to reckon with and the beach walks on the Manu’a islands and the sights of the National Parks here provide a great reason for the tourist to relax. Come here and enjoy the facilities provided by the Pago Pago International Airport.

The Pago Pago International Airport is a great service centre in the airlines centre of the American Samoa. Come here and enjoy the facilities provided.
