These conversation starter boxes I found over at Dear Lizzy are the perfect alternative to traditional table place cards!

OK, here's how it works. The gentlemen receive the bowties & burlap and for the ladies-canvas blossoms & lace.

Each is filled with a different colored candies inside with color coded questions.

Set them out as table place cards, and just like that, your wedding just got a whole lot cooler.
This is a really clever idea to help "break the ice" while your guests are seated, especially if most of the people attending your wedding have never met each other :)

Adorable Austin E-session | Janel + Edwin

I have such a fun couple to share with you guys today! Janel + Edwin not only have genuine passion and a bond for each other, but obviously share a love for Austin, TX! From Ladybird Lake to the eclectic vibe of downtown, these guys hit a few of my favorite hotspots and beautifully strut their stuff around. With the weather around here getting a little warmer, I thought this engagement shoot photographed by photojenette would be perfect for today. Congrats you two lovebirds!

A few words from Janel:
Having lived in Austin for so many years, there were so many great options for the setting of our engagement pictures. I knew we wanted to pick a simple setting, that would allow us, as a couple, to shine in the pictures, but also showcase the city of Austin. In the end we chose Lady Bird Lake for a more casual, natural backdrop and parts of downtown Austin for a more urban, formal backdrop.

Although our entire relationship has been long distance and allowed us to make memories in many different cities around the country, we knew that Austin was the natural choice for our engagement pictures. We had both grown up in Austin and had actually known each other in high school, through mutual friends. Our relationship was never romantic, so when Edwin went off to college, out of state, our paths did not cross again till seven years later at a wedding in Austin. The bride was my college friend and the groom was a childhood friend of Edwin's, and through that wedding, we reconnected and began dating a year later.
I've always loved running around Lady Bird Lake and had been mentally picking out my favorite spots of pictures for years! Lady Bird Lake has a little bit of everything: glimpses of the Austin skyline, a nature trail, people watching, and all of this, conveniently, right next to the heart of Downtown Austin!
Our last stop for pictures was at the Hangar Lounge, in the Warehouse District. Although we are clearly not models and have definitely not mastered the cool and sophisticated poses, I had hoped we could capture some glamorous shots inside a restaurant or bar downtown. Hangar Lounge graciously allowed us to shoot inside their space and they turned out great!
What I loved the most about shooting with photojennette is that she is able to work with anything and make it look great! She was very active in finding out my vision and wishes for the engagement shoot and also provided her expertise and valuable feedback to refine my ideas. I also loved her approach to shooting, which was to constantly flow from one spot to another to capture moments.
A HUGE thanks to Janel + Edwin for sharing such a wonderful engagement session with all of us!
