Fontaine's Oyster House Review

This place has a special on Saturdays for only $10.00 you can get the crab legs seen in the above picture. They also have a special on shrimp. The lobster bisque is also pretty good. I will have to say, the waitress that waited on me, needed a course in customer service. I didn't let that stop me from enjoying this nice restaurant, I have been back several times.

Sweet Tooth Dessert Bar

I was in the area and decided to try out this dessert bar. The bar itself is rather small, but they have a large selection of pies, cakes, and cupcakes. I had the pecan sweet potato pie. Yes, you read that correctly. If your not into rich desserts than you won't like it. I on the other hand, love all things rich and sweet. I was in heaven. I also had the apple pie, which was equally as delicious as the pecan sweet potato pie.
This dessert bar offers a variety of classes that range from decorating and cupcake making. Many of the classes allows for your group to bring your own wine.

HOLY TACO

As I approached Holy Taco, I couldn't help but notice the outside decor. Huge white lights frame the outside of the patio making the place look sophisticated. Upon entering you experience a whole new vibe. The building is very industrial. You seat yourself, which is nice. This gives you the option of sitting down on the main floor or in this small closed off back area of the restaurant. I had the chorizo quesadilla. It comes with a slaw salad. If you like a little heat with your slaw you will enjoy it. The quesadilla is big enough for two people. I suggest ordering it and getting an appetizer with it. I had the house margarita which was refreshing. It wasn't over loaded with tequila but not watered down.
If your in the area check them out. Holy Taco is in walking distance to a few other restaurants that I plan to check out in the future.

Texas Roadhouse

After some holiday shopping, I decided to give Texas Roadhouse a try. I didn't have any real expectations upon entering the restaurant. I was uber excited to find out that when you are seated, the hostess places a couple of rolls and a specialty butter in front of you. I am a true bread eater and this won me over right away. The menu is pretty simple with salads, soups, burgers, and some bigger entrees such as steak, whole chicken and a couple of other plates to choose from. My husband had the chicken, string beans, and sweet potatoe shown above. I had the BBQ chicken, chili, and salad. When my plate was placed in front of me I wasn't that excited. The chicken looked dry, but man was I wrong. After cutting into the chicken, the juices poured out onto my plate. The chili was well seasoned and a bit spicy giving it the right kick.

Cinco in Suwanee, Ga.

I love this place. I have been here more times than I can count, but this is the first time that I have blogged about it. I can't get enough of the raspberry margarita and the lobster and shrimp enchiladas with the fried corn. My husband ordered the Cinco Borrito, shown above. It was huge. The restaurant itself is very nice it features a large bar and patio. The restaurant has a back room that is connected to the restaurant that plays live music. Its definitely a place you want to check out.

Flavors 236 Johnson Ferry Road Atlanta

What a romantic place to dine at if your celebrating a birthday or anniversary. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in blue and brown. The incandescent lights gives this place an intimate vibe.
The staff is very pleasant. You start off with bread and a vegetable plate shown in the picture above. The vegetable plate includes: cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, radishes, and nuts. I ordered the chicken kaboob. The portions are large enough for two. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The rice was great. I added barberries for a small up charge, but it was worth it. I think this is one of my favorite Persian restaurants thus far. I highly recommend this place and will be back in the future.

SIP in Alpharetta on Crabapple Road

Sip is a wine bar. The cool thing about this place is that you can taste different types of wine for an inexpensive price. They offer sips, half, and full glasses. The sips range from $1.25 - $3.00 depending on the wine. Sip offers small, shareable, and full size entrees. The establishment itself is split in half. On one side is a wine store. On the other side is the restaurant, which has a fire place. This is great for the cool weather we are getting now that fall is here. The restaurant is on the cozy side, I recommend making reservations before you arrive.

The Purple Cork Screw is a very casual, I do mean casual wine bar. You have your choice of a few seating areas. There is a small lounge in the back of the establishment for sipping wine and listening to music. The front of the wine bar has a few tables and chairs, or you can enjoy your wine outside.
The Purple Cork Screw has wine tastings and a wine shop check out their website for specific days and times. I found it very interesting that they offer yoga and wine on Mondays.

ATTENTION:

Looking for a special place to take your significant other Aja is the place.

As you open the expansive large doors to Aja it becomes a breathtaking experience. A large Buddha is the center of attention when dining at Aja. The dim lighting makes it romantic, but not creepy. The decor is not the only great thing about this place. The hostess greets you with a warm smile and engages you in small talk as she walks you to your seat. The waiter immediately takes your drink order and explains the set up of the menu. I had the sweet and sour fried chicken that comes with white or brown rice. The chicken is fried in a light batter, with the sauce mainly on the bottom of the plate, which is great because the sauce doesn't over power the crispiness of the chicken.

Waikikie Hawaiian BBQ

This is a Hawaiian BBQ spot. It is rather small. You order your food and pay at the front of the restaurant. You are given a number and your food is brought out to you. I really wanted to like this place, but the macaroni salad needed more seasoning and the sauce that was placed over the chicken was too sweet. The plus side is the restaurant has a live band that plays Hawaiian music while you eat, and a patio is located in front of the restaurant.

Bar One

Bar One is a restaurant during mid-day and turns into a lounge at night. It offers valet parking that is based on tips. As you walk up the short flight of stairs to the restaurant's door you can hear the soft R & B tones coming from inside from the live band. My party of five was seated promptly without any reservations being made. The waiter was very polite, giving my group suggestions on what to order for drinks and what the specials for that night consisted of. The food was on point. The turkey sliders were juicy, plump, and not over cooked. The shrimp was breaded and coated with a mild seasoning. Overall, I was very pleased with the food and the live band.

This is a cool take out or eat in burger spot near Emory. Words can not describe the veggie burger. I am not sure how healthy the veggie burger is because it was fried, but worth the extra calories. The garlic fries were good, but I will check out another side item next time I visit. I was told the custard is a big seller, and many customers seemed to order it while I was their. This will be a must have on my next visit. Burgerfi is located in a cute complex with other restaurants and shops. A parking garage is available and patrons can park for free for the first two hours.

Egg Harbor Cafe in Dunwoody

What a great place to have breakfast at. If your looking for a spot where you don't have to wait in line for 20 to 30 mins, this is the place. I has the crepes. It comes with your choice of a side item. I choose the pancakes. The potatoes were crispy, but not over cooked. The chutney was very delicious that comes with the muffins, it wasn't too sweet. The restaurant it self was very clean, which is a big plus in my book.

Mimi Cafe

On a hot summer day, when I am currently trying to lose weight, I couldn't think of anything better to eat than a salad. Mimi's has a large variety of salads to choose from. I decided on the grilled chicken salad, mostly because it contained artichokes, cucumbers, and onions some of my favorite things to eat. The salads are very large and if that wasn't enough the food comes with a side item. I choose the blueberry muffin. The muffin is very large in size and could be eaten as a meal on its own, but very delicious.

Gino's Pizza Restaurant

Gino's is a casual pizza restaurant located in Norcross, Ga. The restaurant is located in a small plaza. It offers take out or dine in services. I decided to dine in. The waitress was very friendly. She gave my table a free order of garlic knots which were warm and soft with just the right amount of garlic and cheese drizzled over them. I then ordered the Margarita Pizza. The sweet pizza sauce mixed in with the large amounts of mozzarella cheese was delicious. The pizza slices are ginormous. Overall, a great pizza experience.

Krog Wine Bar

This is my favorite wine bar thus far. If I could, I would be here every night. This place is just the right mix of romantic, sophistication, and sexy all in one. The Krog Bar is relatively small in the inside, but have additional seating on a front patio. The patio is full of chairs and couches that are very comfortable. They have a great list of reds and white wines to choose from. Definitely eat before you come. The food menu is very small because this is a wine bar not a restaurant.

Buckhead Pizza Co. restaurant review

When entering the Buckhead Pizza Co. it is much like any other pizza restaurant. Nothing fancy, table style seating, booths and a couple of big screen televisions. It's a great place if you have children and want to take the family out for lunch or dinner. The waitress was very friendly, I wish I could remember her name. I ordered a Margarita Pizza and my husband had the white pizza. The pizza was pretty good. I never had white pizza before, so I can't compare it to another pizza restaurant. Overall, I have been to other pizza restaurants located in Buckhead that were a bit more upscale and what I prefer to dine at during my usual Saturday date nights.
Side note: I did ask for the sparkling wine and they were out. I also overheard the waitress say to another table that they ran out of a couple of their beers.

Doesn't this beef empanada look delicious? That's because it was. Noche specializes in tapas. (small plates) As you can see from this picture, they give you a generous size portion. Noche has a $5.00 margarita which you can sip on while sitting on their expansive patio during the summer months. This place is a great date spot or a place for several of your friends to get together for a couple of laughs. Anticipate lots of energy throughout this place from the patents to the waitstaff. (Not a place to frequent if your looking for a quiet low key night.)

I took a couple of months off from blogging due to teaching summer school. My schedule can get a little hectic during the summer months with moving from one classroom to another for the upcoming school year. Then moving into another room to teach summer school, and not to mention moving all of your summer supplies back to your regular room.
Now that summer school is over!!!
I plan on blogging all of my favorite restaurants so you can enjoy great food this summer.

Well, I would love to say that I tried their food and can give you a food review, but I didn't get a chance to. I went for their brunch, which ends at 3:00. I was a little late and arrived around 3:30. I decided not to make this a wasted trip, so I had a root beer which was delicious. I will definitely be back in the near future. While their, I would like to say that the atmosphere is really relaxed you can eat inside or outside and they have a lot of table seating near large windows which makes it great for people watching. The staff is very polite and well mannered.
