As technology advances and increases in the hands of more and more of the people, the crime rate seems to also be increasing as it’s becoming increasingly simple to know if someone carries a laptop or a mobile phone.

Daily people have their laptops and mobiles stolen. Daily people are having counts online hacked! These days, one password leads to years of information, passwords and and bank details.

This is why it is increasingly more important to safeguard your passwords and and not write this down in any form whereby it can be seen that it’s a password! Be smart and aware!

About a year ago, there was a shop in Bolton (UK), where a masked man went into a newsagents, put one of them large 100 shooter fireworks on the ground and… LIT IT!! And then he runs out of the shop.

Basically, then fireworks started to fire up everywhere in the shop and the owner was shaken but luckily he managed to kick the fireworks out of the shop.

Search for the video on the Internet.

OK, many people might find this funny but is it really a good thing? A joke can be good but when it’s taken too far then it’s not. Anyone who finds this humorous should consider the owner.

The question many people ask is what are the police doing about it? Some people are of the opinion that they do nothing. This is wrong.

The police are trying to decrease knife crime and that is good however it is not being done in the right manner. I won’t go into this too much but we also have to do our bit and tell our friends and young ones about the great dangers and harms of carrying a knife.

Many people would certainly say this is an impossibility because of the current society we live in.

We hear crime in the media at every moment. On the internet, there are probably more stories posted on crime every minute than you can count.

And so? This site isn’t going anywhere just yet! Be sure to check back often as we’ll be posting many top articles on crime very often.

Now what shall I post next? The choices are vast but time is little…

The 21 year old man Jake Clarke was confronted by Craig Bellamy. While Jake was safely restrained by stewards he was hit in the face by the extremely brave Manchester City player Craig Bellamy.

His over excitement and joy of the occasion prompted him to run onto the pitch as he just wanted to celebrate with the players was his claim. However he has admitted he knows that his actions that day were stupid.

Craig Bellamy remains unscathed physically and criminally!

This man is so charming that convinced his jailers in the UK into helping him escape from prison. However he has been recaptured and has been arrested in the US.

Who is this criminal mastermind? His name is Juan Carlos Guzmán-Betancourt, who is well known for using his good looks (each to their own I suppose) and charm to steal from the bedrooms of the wealthiest of guests at luxury hotels.

He was caught at the US border coming in from Canada. Even then he tried to talk his way out of his arrest, attempting to convince a border guard that he was not wanting to enter the country but was only seeking help for a broken-down car.

He has been likened to master US conman Frank Abagnale, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film Catch Me If You Can. He is thought to have had at least 10 aliases.

A think tank for drug prevention has put forward an idea to reduce the number of arrests and seizures in drug raids in order to lower the number of related violent crimes.

The UK Drug Policy Commission suggests that they follow the example of a scheme done in Boston, United States, where gang members were offered prosecution immunity when dealing drugs if they stopped killing one another. Consequently, the number of murder rates did fall, but it makes one wonder at what cost.

The commission cites problems such as turf wars, dealer relocation, territorial changes and worse replacements as key reasons why too much enforcement may actually result in a engative impact on surrounding areas and their communities.

Despite distributing a £3 million budget to the anti-knife scheme, with an objective of reducing the rates of knife crime in the worst cities, Home Office figures show that the number of knife-related incidents has actually risen.

The official number of deaths by knife stabbing has risen by around 7% in over 20-year-olds and remained unchanged in the number of teenagers involved.

The setbacks haven’t stopped a second phase being rolled out for the “tackling knives action programme”. The next step involves pushing the scheme out to an additional 16 areas and targetting a variety or violence crimes, including sources such as gang culture. The budget for the next phase is speculated to be set at £5 million.

An interactive, online crime mapping system that is currently used in North America may be making its way to the UK soon.

Using similar technology to that employed by Savannah-Chatham Police Department in the United States, the maps can be accessed in most web browsers and pin point crimes using a variety of symbols.

Chief Constable Peter Neyroud, head of the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), said: “It is so much quicker than what we can do in this country because we are so bogged down in the bureaucracy of crime recording and making sure it is all audited, and so on. We are struggling to get quick-time information out to the public.”

There is currently a mapping system in place and available on British Police website, however, the information is only based on averages in the area and does not discern separate crimes and their locations.

The Avon and Somerset Police force has unveiled their latest weapon in the fight against pick pocket crime: tiny bells! The number of active thefts has been on the rise and a decision was made to try and put a stop to them once and for all, hence the idea for making people aware of thieves handling their belongings.

The small, silver bells, which cost 40p for a pair, can be attached to a purse, bag or wallet and will jingle when moved about. So, the idea is if someone were to try and discreetly remove a purse from your bag, you would hear the tinkle and become aware of the crime before it is too late.

Mendip District Council budgeted £2,000 for the scheme, allowing them to give out 5,000 pairs of bells in popular shopping areas.
