A "good" kind of busy.

Hello all, I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've posted anything new!

I just started a new home based charter school program with my children (First grader and Kindergartner) and it has had me so busy the last few weeks! I'm slowly starting to get the hang of being a "learning coach" now though... the last few days we actually had things finished in a decent amount of time! This is sure going to make for an interesting year - I'm really enjoying it so far though and the kids are too. It's such a good feeling to be involved with what and how they are learning academically.

Unfortunately much of my work time the last two weeks was spent on home-schooling and I have only had enough spare time to create one small new piece, aside from commissions. I hope to change this though as we adjust to our new way of doing things, so to anyone who might think I have disappeared, don't worry - I'm still here and print/merchandise orders will not be affected and I will be back to painting just as soon as we adjust to our new routine. :)

Up at 3:00 A.M. today .....

Good morning! I woke up ridiculously early this morning - 3:00 a.m. when Brian's alarm clock went off and I couldn't go back to sleep after that. I'm sure I'll be tempted to crash at around noon but for now I'll try to make the best of it and get a little work done. My morning tasks?

Be angry that Melbourne IT won't give me back my old web address carlylandry .com!
Try to think of a new domain name because I need a new web address! I need to do this fast so that I can place an order for my new business cards.... Any ideas? Preferably something shorter and "catchier" than my current http://www.enchantingartwork.com/ but still represents my artwork with the address.. if that makes sense.. lol. Nothing good seems to be available.
Finish up the custom painting for 'Hailme' - I'm almost done. :)
Pack and ship out 7 prints and 1 painting.
Drink more coffee!
Play eenie meenie miney moe to choose one of the 5 paintings I currently have half completed and get them finished.

I could think of so much more...but thats all I can fit into the morning I think!

I love these paintings.. especially "We Move On". The colors and brushstrokes came out so well on this one - a lot more "rich" than my terrible photo's can capture that is for sure! I'm definitely doing more like this because I really enjoyed the process.

Finally Friday!

My latest painting... she is a bit of a sad painting... and yes, it is a "she", lol.

This piece was a therapy work for me, like most of my paintings. Sometimes when bits and pieces of my past (or in some cases present) start gnawing at me and bothering me, painting is the best way for me to get it out. To me, art is therapy and there is nothing better than a free therapist that never talks back, never charges me a dime and with each session I end up with tangible proof that I am an accomplished individual that can create something from nothing.

But anyhow ... aside from that, here she is:

New Dragon Sculpture is Almost Complete

I'm exausted! Who knew painting a little dragon could be tiring? Perhaps someday I'll learn to just stop and quit picking at something until I feel like it's perfect? I doubt it.

This is the stage I'm at with her currently. Almost finished. I'm sure I will add a few more details before she is put up for sale sometime tomorrow.

Again, thank you so very much Mr. Wraven for help with naming her! Prothera. Perfect. I love it. Her story is almost completed in my head now too. I'll be writing it all tomorrow I think.... after some much needed sleep!!

Hello!

I finished a new painting titled "Pleasant Countenance". Details for this painting can be found on my website HERE.

...and I have a little blue dragon sculpture who is almost finished!!!

She just needs her wings and some more detail paint now. I think I might have a hard time parting with this one... I have worked on her so long I have become really attatched, lol!

Thanks to Wraven I was able to come up with a name for her...now for a story!
