Hi Albert

Thanks for the comments, they definitely help.

The main problem I've got is that at the moment I'm having to work for other clients to bring some money in which is leaving me little or really no time for Photato. I don't think there's much anyone can do other than keep encouraging me to find the time to come back and finish things off and spreading the word, because ultimately for Photato to really develop I'm going to need to be convinced there's a market for it.

I hope that explains the absence of any updates recently. Hopefully soon I'll have the time to get version 1 complete and ready for release.

Cheers

Ok, just a quick bit of good news. Everything, including logging into Facebook, seems to be working as well on Windows 7 as it does on Vista, so it looks like this next release will support Windows 7.

Thanks Martin, I'd be happy to test out any release that might work with Win7.
I'll look forward to the next release and will certainly give it a go.

Good question. I have every intention of supporting Windows 7, but I am not sure whether this next release will. I am testing this release currently on both Vista and Windows 7 so I will certainly try to get it to work and will let you know how I get on.

For this next release I have changed the Facebook login process so that now a sperate pop-up window is used to display the Facebook login webpage. This is not ideal and is clearly not great for a Media Center add-in, but it's a Facebook requirement in their Terms of Service that any Facebook app needs to use their login webpage. Having said that, I am hopeful this change may solve the login problem with Windows 7.

Martin,
Great to see these new changes, and I'm looking forward to getting this up and running on my HTPC.
One question, will it work with Windows 7?
I've tried the previous version and it comes up with an error when I try to authorise with Facebook!

I'm pretty close to releasing a new version (should be this week). There's quite a bit of new code and functionality in this release (which I'm really excited about) so I'd like to get it tested a bit before making it generally available. I'll therefore make it available through the blog and a link on the forum first before updating the main download link on the home page of the site. When I do I'll let you know through the blog so keep checking back or better still subscribe to the RSS feed if you haven't already.

Cheers

HP Media Center PC with extender. I've done much beta testing before and written software manuals. Great piece of software in an ugly piece of MS software. I'd like to help I'm also testing Linux MCE.

Thanks.
