Remix collective Buffetlibre and Barcelona's Sidechains have put their crafty DJ hands on Dragonette's "Easy" and turned it into a glistening disco mix. It's like a homage to classic Italo disco mixed in with a whole lot of Martina Sorbara goodness. Gosh, this band is darn good. Why is no major label backing this? Something is seriously wrong. Sam Taylor is one of the most exciting new pop talents to look out for in 2010. The British crooner started out as a West End performer when he was only 9 years old and he's now gearing up to become a full-blown pop star - writing songs and performing gigs.

His rise to pop fame was accelerated when Taylor was discovered in a London coffee shop by William Baker, fashion designer and close friend of Kylie Minogue. Baker even introduced Taylor to Minogue who gave him some important tips over a dinner date.

I've met and interviewed many singers over the years, but I can honestly say that Sam Taylor is something special. He is an exquisite pop balladeer, belting out gorgeous and gut-wrenching tunes. His delivery is one of a kind that has both boys and girls enchanted.

While on the topic of Mark Ronson, there are few others interesting bits to report about. The British producer just wrapped recording sessions with '80s super band Duran Duran. Stripping them down from all the glitz and glam, an insider tells me that Ronson demanded that Simon Le Bon and his men would forget all about their Timbaland experience and go back to the basics. Ronson even made them record in a dingy recording studio in London to make it work.

Ronson also produced a very interesting collaboration between ArjanWrites.com fave Sam Sparro and British MC Theophilus London. Together they are Chaffeur and they unleased the first fruit from their collaboration last week. Ronson produced the track in support of his new Gucci-branded line of sneakers. Very, very interesting. Sparro hits the falsetto and brings the soul. Get it here.

Mark Ronson turns on the retro on his new new collaboration with Brazilian pop icon Bebel Gilberto. Originally performed by Sergio Mendes and written by Steve Wonder, Bebel Gilberto and Mark Ronson put their own unique spin on "The Real Thing."

The original version is an undeniable disco track, but one would never know from this reinterpretation.  Bebel's sultry voice and Mark Ronson's killer horns and percussion reintroduce this classic to a new generation of music fans. I'm thrilled to announce that New York electro-pop duo Dangerous Muse has been added to the list of performers of next week's SUPERFRAICHE POP NIGHT. Long-time readers of this blog know that I've been following the duo of Mike Furey and Tom Napack ever since they splashed onto the pop scene with "The Rejection" and that stunning Advocate cover back in 2006.

Since then, the guys have been working on new material for their upcoming debut album. The much-anticipated LP will be introduced this month with the release of “I Want It All," the album's first single produced by Bloodshy & Avant (Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez). A music video shot in Los Angeles with director Greko Sklavounos and remix single package will support the single release. (See a preview of the video.)

Producers on the yet-untitled album also include recording artist Esthero (making her production debut), Josh Harris (The Killers, Seal, Dangerous Muse), Ted Ottaviano (Book of Love, Dangerous Muse) and David Siskovic (Justin Timberlake, Cut Copy, Gwen Stefani, Goldfrapp).

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new songs from the duo and I can assure you that Dangerous Muse is alive and kicking. They will be playing songs during Superfraiche together with Brad Walsh, Menya, Reni Lane and Sam Taylor. It will be a great, electrifying and superfraiche pop night to remember.

Even though Frankmusik has practically abandoned his debut album album "Complete Me" to start work on new music, I still consider that record one of the best pop albums of the year. Reni Lane is one of the most exciting pop acts for 2010. I first blogged about her a few months ago when I was struck by the compelling "Place For Us," a song about finding your way in life - a universal theme many people can relate to in their own unique way.

Of course, pop music lovers know all about Linda Perry and the fine knack she has for writing songs and scouting new talent. After bringing new life to Pink and Christina Aguilera, Linda is bound to bring newbie Reni Lane to the top of the charts.

I'm thrilled Reni agreed to play my Superfraiche Pop Night and show off what incredible talent she brings to the table. I had a chance to meet up with Reni via webcam this weekend to chat about Superfraiche, her working relationship with Linda Perry, her upcoming album, fellow Superfraiche performer Brad Walsh and her love for gay fans. We chatted while she was on a break working with another very exciting new pop act in a Hoboken studio.

Music can make a world of difference. How corny that may sound, I believe that. Look at what music does in your own life. It can pick you up, it can move you, it can bring joy, it can inspire you and it can make you look at the world in a completely new way. War Child is a cause close to my heart. Kids that have been distraught and misplaced by the horrors of war are so vulnerable. War Child reaches out to these children in war zones around the world. The organization provides them shelter, food and hope. One of the ways they help kids cope and manage with the trauma of war is to let them play. Let them do what kids do best. Through music, sports and other creative programs, kids can discover a sense of stability and accomplishment in an environment that is harsh and grim.

Next week's Superfraiche Pop Night is presenting some unexpected surprises. It turns out that Linda Perry protégé Reni Lane has been collaborating with fellow Superfraiche performer Brad Walsh. The two worked on the super queer groove production "Homo Superstar." I haven't heard it but it sure sound delicious.

But there's more. Reni Lane's songwriting collaborator David Pattillo has partnered with the hyper-creative Josh Madden under the DJ/remix moniker True Blue.

One of the songs they remixed is Brad Walsh's brand-new "I Don't Want U 2 Go." Pattillo and Madden turned Walsh's chunky pop original into an electro workout that's perfect for all your dance floor shenanigans. (Click here to get your tickets to Superfraiche. Hope to see you there!)

Love Grenades is one of the hottest new things to come from the Hollywood music scene. These Sunset hipsters put out a distinct brand of sultry disco-pop that is at times is reminiscent of classic italo disco and '80s glam. These are some potent ingredients that mix well with Liz Wight's sultry vocals that have been compared to a young Annie Lennox.

Their EP "Tigers In The Fire" has been floating around for a couple of years, but if you're curious about the some of their new work, check out a totally guilt-free download of the brand-new "Genius of Fun." It's a gentle departure from the slinky electro number, "Young Lovers," but still very hip and very now.

Head over to Roisin Murphy's MySpace page to listen to her brand-new single "Orally Fixated." The song will be available for digital download on November 16 in the U.K. and one day later in the U.S.. British newspaper website The Guardian will offer a free download of the song for 48 hours in the next few days. Keep hitting that refresh button!

My first impression: I love every second of "Orally Fixated" - from the way it builds with that propulsive, gritty rhythm track and the melodic chorus with those sleek and subtle synth flourishes. The electric guitar riff is a fitting, welcome surprise that complements the electro-pop arrangements very well. Ah, and those lyrics, so Roisin. This is so good. Drink it up. The super fun pop kids from Menya have a special message for all of you.

Let me quickly introduce Menya again. They're the trio of NYU students Coco Dame, Angie Ripe and Good Goose who produce and write all of their own music. The group formed less than 2 years ago and has independently released three EPs, including "The Sleepover Series (Vol 1)" mixtape that hit the web two weeks ago.
