Supergreen Soup for Super Energy!

Linda and I love to make supergreen living soups. Linda especially loves them because they are filling and yet quite low in calories, high in nutrient density and especially beautiful.

IF you live in a cold climate….you can warm this soup up….but do not warm it up too high. Don’t go over 115 degrees and the enzymes and supergreen nutrients will be saved.

Here’s our Favorite Supergeen Soup

(for two people)

3 cups Purified Water (more or less) We start with 2 and then add as we go.

1 large Haas Avocado (peeled)

1 cup Organic Baby Spinach

1/2 cup Organic Cilantro

1/2 cup Organic Parlsey

1/3 cup Organic Basil

2 large cloves Organic Garlic

1 Organic Zucchini

1/3 Yellow or Red Onion (peeled)

1 Lime (Juiced)

1 Organic Cucumber (peeled)

Cayenne and Organic Salt to taste.

Touch of Olive Oil for the top and some Basil Springs with a toss of Roasted Paprika and diced green onions for a real beautiful flair!

DIRECTIONS:

Put water into blender
Add all ingredients and blend until consistency is achieved.

Linda and I like it sort of chunky……

And we also eat Flax Crackers with this soup.

ENJOY!

If you want to do this soup for 24 hours, we highly recommend it. It’s filling, it’s cleansing and it’s satisfying.

5 Days to SuperHealth with SuperSalads and SuperJuicing!

5 Days to Super-Health!

I have had the distinct privilege to be entrusted by many people to teach the powers of juicing. Most of our requests for information have come from people who don’t know much about greens and juicing.

We say: “You can change your entire eating lifestyle in just a few short days”, yet they can’t seem to wrap it around their heads, or even conceive it, because for years and perhaps decades they have been struggling to lose weight or change their lifestyle.

The”Power of Greens” and the “Mystery of Greens” are what catapult us into the realms of superhealth so quickly, it’s almost unbelievable…..so we say, why not try it and see for yourself?

Ok…How do we achieve this?

Here are the steps we recommend you can do to achieve this:

We call it 5 Days to Superhealth:

1. Drink 1 to 2 quarts per day (throughout the day/evening) of the juice recommended below*
2. Make a supergreen smoothie in the mornings**
3. Make a Supersalad everyday***(eat them for lunch and dinner)
4. Exercise or walk everyday for 30 minutes
5. Dry brush your skin daily or take a hot sauna everyday and drink 6 full glasses of water daily as well

Here is the juicing recipe we recommend during the 5 days to Superhealth:

1.* 20 carrots (organic)
1 cup spinach
1 cup parsley
1 medium size beet with greens
3 ribs celery
1/4 cup cilantro or basil

Here’s the supergreen smoothie for your mornings:

2.** Fill your blender with 3 to 4 cups purified water
add 2 to 3 organic bananas
add 2 scoops Sun Warrior Protein Vanilla Powder
add 2 cap fulls of super green powder (we recommend Greens Plus)
add 1 tablespoon organic spirulina

Blend and drink slowly…..(you can save what you can consume in the refrigerator for later.)

Now, in order to change your PALATE regarding eating habits, we recommend what Linda and I teach quite frequently called SuperSalads. Even heavy meat eaters, or people who have not eaten a vegetarian diet, or die hard sugar addicts can change in these five days when incorporating these SuperSalads into their life.

3.***You can make a variety of SuperSalads throughout the 5 days, but we recommend our basic:

4 cups Baby Field Greens
1/2 cup Edamame
1/2 cup Pepita seeds
1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
1/2 cup Slivered Carrots
1/2 cup Slivered Zucchini
1 cup cooked, Short Grain Brown Rice
1/3 cup diced green onions
1/2 cup organic green olives (pitted)

Salad Dressing: Use Grape Seed Oil or Macadamia Nut Oil with Tamari and fresh Lemon Juice or you can substitute the Tamari for Bragg’s Aminos.

Sometimes we wrap our SuperSalads in Organic Corn Tortillas, and heat them up so they are strong enough to hold the salad inside.

Variations: slivered almonds, dried cranberries or cherries, chopped walnuts, julienned jicima, chopped celery, mushrooms, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower, green onions, yellow or maui onions, cucumbers, corn, celery, brussell sprouts, carrots, spinach, parsley, basil, chard, green leaf and red leaf lettuces, sprouts; lentil sprouts, mung bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, beets, red and green cabbage, garlic, black or green olives, fennel, radishes.

If you can’t tolerate Baby Field Greens, then use Romaine Lettuce. It’s very high in lots of nutrients, but do not use any other kinds of lettuces, especially ice berg lettuce. Also you can substitute brown rice for millet or pearl barley.

4. Exercise or walk for 30 minutes. The reason for this is crucial. We have a tendency to get stuck in life and sometimes we don’t understand that changing our eating habits actually changes the way we think, it changes the way we act as it actually changes our brain chemistry for the better by releasing endorphins.

5. Dry Brush your skin or take a sauna everyday will help eliminate toxins that will start to eliminate from your skin. It also helps with keeping you refreshed and on track with your new body.

The water is important, because even if you are juicing everday, it is not the same as water. Water is one of our only sources of hydration, so we still need to be drinking water, especially as we exercise more and sweat in saunas.

The major KEY to this new you, is Juicing. Some people have accused me of saying juicing cures everything, juicing cures all, juicing cures wounds, and can heal the world! But the truth is, we don’t ever say the word cure!

However, I do believe Juicing is the fastest way to reach, nourish and cleanse our bloodstream, by reaching our 1 trillion cells that are starving for oxygen, for life, for light….for energy!

After successfully achieving these 5 days to SuperHealth, you are going to feel in Control of your needs for sugar and carbs, you are going to feel relaxed and balanced, and you are going to finally feel really good about continuing this lifestyle as long as you wish.

Nature’s Natural Pesticide Remover!

For many years I have been teaching and preaching a wonderful pesticide remover that you can make from you own home! Here it is:

1. Fill your kitchen sick up halfway with cold water

2. Add four tablespoons of Seasalt or Natural organic salt

3. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the entire lemon as much as you can with its juice into the salt water solution.

4. Mix around to make sure it all is blended well.

5. Put all your greens, strawberries, grapes or whatever you have that needs cleaning and let soak for five minutes tops.

6. Rinse with cold water thoroughly.

This recipe makes a natural, diluted form of hydrochloric acid, which has been known to help remove surface sprays and eliminates fungus and bacteria that may be on the produce.

How To Select A Juicer That Is Right For You

Ok…we have been receiving lots of letters asking the differences between juicer types.

Regarding masticating versus pulp ejectors. Linda and I have owned every single juicer possible! The Norwalk to the Champion, to the Green Star to the Acme and Omega and of course Juiceman and now, finally ten years later we have found the Juicedaddy Stainless Pulp Ejector.

When Dr. Walker was talking about centrifugal juicers back in the 50′s and 60′s he was speaking about the Acme juicer, and others which didn’t have pulp that spurts out the back, but the pulp would spin and spin like a dryer would. The pulp ejector type juicer had not been invented yet.

That’s what centrifugal meant back in those days because I know, as I was demonstrating juicers back in the 50′s and 60′s, 70′s and 80′s…and you know…forever! And of course, I knew Dr. Walker and Dr. Gerson personally back then.

When Linda was a young girl, her mother had a centrifugal juicer called the Acme Supreme. Now the company provides both types, so she knows the differences as well, since she has not only been married to me for 30 years, but also grew up in a vegetarian juicing family since childhood.

Ironically, back in the late sixties the pulp ejector was created and, interestingly, I was part of the design and concept, believe it or not! I was frustrated with the other types of juicers that spun round and round becuse they couldn’t do fruit very well, so out of frustration came new thoughts, which resulted in a new way of juicing.

So, along with my German manufacturing partners, myself and others came up with this idea…..which in a way is sort of a centrifugal juicer, but not really. Let me explain.

Pulp ejectors spin one half of a turn and then shoots the pulp out the back, without having to spin round and round, so the cutting is quick and the oxidation of the fruits and veggies are not as severe as the classic centrifugal juicers were.

If you look up the word: centrifuge…here’s what it says:

–noun
1. an apparatus that rotates at high speed and by centrifugal force separates substances of different densities, as milk and cream.

As you can see, a pulp ejector juicer does not have this kind of function.

About six years ago Linda and I saw a study, whether it was independent or not, I cannot tell you (and that’s important because any company can spin information to their side if they want to) however, this study showed that the Norwalk press got about 20% more nutrients (mostly more minerals) out of the carrots than any other juicer. It depended on the fruit or vegetable they were testing, so it averaged out to be about 18%, some more some less.

Now….

The reason why we advocate the pulp ejector is because it’s fast and super easy to clean…something that is important to us, and we have a large family, so the Green Star and Champion were out of the question due to the fact it took SO long to do carrot juice, and it was horribly cumbersome.

Are you the patient type?

If you are patient and don’t mind cleaning up several parts to a juicer and don’t mind it taking 15 minutes or so, then I would suggest the slower types, as it does get a bit mor nutrients out of it.

This is why it’s important to know what your needs are. We do have a Champion at home, but we use it for specialty pate’s like banana ice cream and nut pate’s as it does a decent job when we feel like hauling it out of our cabinet!

But some people have two: one like the Green Star and one like ours, so they can go back and forth. If you can’t afford that, then I would suggest you decide what kind of personality you have and go for the one that fits your particular style of kitchen habits.

The speed of our juicer is high because it’s strong and can take lots of pressing down with hard veggies such as carrots and beets and apples, and does a fine job of greens as well, even wheatgrass, as long as you combine it with cucumbers, celery, zucchini or carrots.

This morning I made two quarts of fresh juice: organic celery/zucchini/granny smith apples/parsley and cucumbers.

It was fantastic and it only took about two minutes to do! Cleanup was at the most two minutes, and probably more like one, as our new Juicedaddy Juicer has three parts: The bowl, the straining basket and the cover. It’s super easy to clean and is authentic stainless steel.

I hope this has helped you understand a bit more.

Mind you, Linda and I are not in a contest to sell millions of juicers. I am older now, and I just want to be a resource for you all, and to sell you a product I do believe is a good buy and has quality. However, your needs must come first. Find out what is important to you, and then buy a juicer from a reputable source.

Linda and I do not recommend the LaLanne Power Juicer because when pressed, it slows down constantly and actually freezes when we press down, so we just don’t think it’s a good buy for $100.00 plus dollars, and…it is not stainless steel. It’s plastic to look like stainess, and it will eventually chip, plus the blade and basket have to be hand cranked; something not good for elderly people.

I think, if you have to purchase a slower triturating type of a juicer, I would recommend the Champion, as it’s only $275.00, and it is very reliable, durable and does the job beautifully. Some of these others twin gear juicers, in our opinion are over priced. We purchased the new Omega Triturating juicer for $250.00 last year and ended up giving it away a month later. It was awful, but then again, this is our opinion, and I am sharing it with you, because some of our friends here on Facebook would like to know our thoughts.

Now, one more thought about oxidation. Oxidation occurs when light and air hit the foods, including spinning of course, so you have to ask yourself, is having an easier juicer to use going to entice me to juice on a daily basis? This is SO important! You must have a juicer you are going to use and love everyday. This is the most important aspect to choosing the right juicer for your personality type.
