On Monday the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iran is going to deliver a “punch” that will stun the world powers on February 11th-the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

Both the Ayatollah and Iran’s President Ahmadinejad have been making similar claims. What could they possible do to ‘stun’ the west and what kind of punch will they be serving—grade, cherry, or Hawaiian? I guess we will just have to wait a couple of days and see.

Meanwhile, the loyal opposition in Iran is promising to serve major ‘punches’ of there own to the Islamic regime itself.

Oh yes, Our folks in Washington DC seem to be having a ‘snow day’ so don’t count of them to respond anytime soon! Besides they really don’t have a clue.            *Top

After hundreds of Newspaper and TV editorials, thousands of blogger posts, and even rival TV spots by Planned Parenthood, this is what it was all about—loving banter between a mother and her son? Of course it did have links to their entire story. Talk about overblown reaction from the Pro-Abort folks.

If you didn’t see the ‘controversial’ ads during the Super Bowl here’s one of the offending productions above. See it for yourself.

Powerline blog points out that the AP description doesn’t even come close to matching the real thing:

And a commercial by conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, perhaps the most anticipated ad of the night, hinted at a serious subject although it took a humorous tone too. Heisman winner Tim Tebow and his mother talk about her difficult pregnancy with him and how she was advised to end the pregnancy–implying an antiabortion message–but ended with Tebow tackling his mom and saying the family must be "tough."

Did Tim Tebow really talk with his mother about her difficult pregnancy in the commercial? No! That AP writer should be fired though the treatment probably does reflect AP’s usual slanted approach towards the news.

In another crazy approach to the commercial, now some writers are criticizing the ad for making fun of domestic violence—after all Tim tackles his own mother don’t you know. Will it ever stop?               *Top

For nearly a month Target was selling globes in their 1744 stores that showed ‘Palestine’ prominently listed on the map instead of Israel.

To be fair, The globe has been pulled off the shelf after numerous complaints and is no longer for sale at the Target stores since last Sunday.

But before the company finally responded, Target’s customer relations spokesperson Amy Reilly claimed that the ‘mistake’ happened because there wasn’t enough room for ‘Israel’. Of course there was plenty of space on the map for the larger word ‘Palestine’ instead?

The manufacturer also claimed ignorance and apologized for the mistake saying that the product was made for them in China and that they would be discontinuing their sale.

Response: Incredible! I guess the globe makers just wanted to make sure their maps were up to date just in case Iran does follow through with their many threats against Israel.

Now what to do with thousands of rejected globes? I wouldn’t feel too sorry for the manufacturer.

They could become popular among some PC liberal and European types who constantly make a point of referring to the country as ‘Palestine’. Besides all of those ‘mistakes’ could ultimately find a welcome market in the Middle East.               *Top

In his latest diatribe against the West and particularly the US, Bin laden turns green and blames the industrial nations for pending natural doom due to climate change.

His solution? Break up and ruin the American economy, boycott U.S. goods and stop using the dollar.

Christianity continues to be seen as a threat to the rulers of this small mountain Kingdom of 670,000 people.

Buddhism is closely linked to the monarchy in Bhutan with the King being both the official religious and political leader in the nation.

Even though a new constitution was adopted in 2008 that gave the people greater freedoms in the country, Christianity remains somewhat illegal and Christians must meet to worship informally in houses since they are not allowed to build churches. The country remains a Buddhist monarchy that considers Christianity a threat to their culture and life.

Christians are said to number between 3,000-6,000 in the country and come from the lowest uneducated strata of the society. Sound Christian teaching also is said to be naturally lacking in the Christian community since there are no leaders with any formal training to speak of.

Although there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of persecution against Christians, the authorities would rather have only one religion in the country. They view Christianity as a cause of division among the people and would rather keep Bhutan substantially Buddhist.

Response: From a Christian perspective when it comes to the ‘Great Commission’ (Matt. 28:18-20) Bhutan remains on the list whether they want to be or not. I know people who have been praying over that country for more than 20 years. Eventually the gospel will reach far more than the 6,000 or so it has touched to date.

Please make this nation a part of your prayers. Remember, the King could change it all in a moment. I’m taking about Jesus but what if the King of Bhutan was converted. What would happen then?               *Top

Today groundhog Punxsutawney Phil provided a rather humorous argument against ‘global warming’.

The famous rodent came out of his hole and saw his own shadow confirming that we are in for at least six more weeks of cold winter weather—‘global warming will have to wait at least another year.

Course this doesn’t really count for those of us living in Southern California where the temperature reached a rather ‘chilly’ 65 degrees today with rain on the way—or does it?             *Top

The Iraqi government is in the process of erasing all Hebrew and Jewish markings on the Tomb of Ezekiel and plans to build a huge new mosque over the site. The burial site of Ezekiel is located in Al-Kifl, just south of Baghdad and has been a pilgrimage destination for Jews and Christians for centuries.

The new plans for the site were reported the first week of January by Ur News, the Iraqi news agency. Meanwhile, Shelomo Alfassa, Director of Justice for Jews from Arab Countries, responded:

(Iraq’s Antiquities & Heritage Authority) “has been pressured by Islamists to historically cleanse all evidence of a Jewish connection to Iraq – a land where Jews had lived for over a thousand years before the advent of Islam.”

The desecration of the tomb is taking place under “the pretext of restoring the site.”

Response:Shades of the Taliban and 1,400 year old Buddha sculptures.  Another case where Islamic officials are involved with trying to erase and eliminate the artifacts of another religion.

Is this why we sacrificed so much to free the Iraqi people? So that they could become Islamists and erase the Jewish heritage from their land and persecute Christians?

This is an outrage! Also the story has gotten almost no attention from the world media.                *Top
