On Tuesday the voters in Maine overturned a same-sex marriage law enacted earlier in the year. This momentous turnabout was largely ignored by the MSM as most keyed in on the Republican vs. Democrat elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and in NY’s 23 Congressional district.

Response: Every time Americans have been allowed to vote on traditional marriage (one man and one woman) it has overwhelmingly won and same-sex marriage has gone down to defeat. Every state that does recognize Gay marriage has been instituted through the courts or in the case of Maine earlier this year through the state legislature obviously over the objections of the people.

This vote changes the momentum. Since the passage of Prop 8 in California all of the momentum had been on the side of Gay Marriage. Now conservatives are encouraged—this demonstrates that a judges decision or a legislative bill doesn’t have to be accepted as the final word. The will and vote of the people can overturn it all –as it should be.            *Top

Meanwhile, President Obama responded with his usual appeasement in a statement he issued to mark the occasion. The President continues to ignore and refuses to comment on ‘Iranian internal affairs’ including the recent bogus election of Ahmadinejad, the on-going protests of thousands, and the ruthless killing, injuring , and jailing of those who oppose the current Islamic regime.

Response: By his in-action President Obama demonstrates that he is not really with the protestors who are seeking freedom for their country. In fact he goes out of his way to tell the blood thirsty Imams that he will not interfere in their internal affairs nor even condemn the ill treatment of their own people.

Pres. Obama continues to display his naivete’ and ignorance when it comes to Iran and the stated apocalyptic goals of the Iranian leaders. In his statement today he seems to accept the propaganda that Iran is only seeking nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. He doesn’t seem to understand that when they say- “Death to America” –they literally mean it and will do everything in their power to make it a reality.           *Top

October 20, 2009 is the second DVD release date for the stunning documentary Malatya.  The film, which had an early release through Voice of the Martyrs on April 18th, 2009 in honor of the martyrs, is now releasing in its final form.

This is a true story of persecution and perseverance.  Three Christian men were brutally tortured and murdered, in Malatya Turkey, for their faith in Jesus Christ.  It may be difficult for people to understand that Christians even today are beaten, raped, and killed for proclaiming Jesus. Many may read stories about martyrs, but to actually see that these men were real nowadays martyrs is dramatic.

Abby Johnson, a former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a "change of heart" and quit last month after watching an abortion on ultrasound. Now she has actually joined a pro-life group in praying outside her former clinic.

Even more astounding is the claim by Johnson that Planned Parenthood administrators are pressuring clinic directors to perform more abortions to boost income since they’re far more profitable than any of the other services offered by the organization.

Response: Perhaps more workers and volunteers at Planned Parenthood would quit if they were more exposed to the real horrors of abortion.

Also, this puts the lie to the continual propaganda Planned Parenthood puts out that abortions are only a small part of their ongoing services. Obviously abortions are far more important and essential to their ‘non-profit’ business than the organization would like to admit.

Yes, you read it correct—an independent church in North Carolina —Amazing Grace Baptist Church–is planning on celebrating Halloween by burning Bibles, and Christian books that they consider to be ‘heretical’.

According to the church website they will be burning English versions of the Bible that they say are ’satanic’–“NIV, RSV, NKJV, TLB, NASB, ESV, NEV, NRSV, ASV, NWT, Good News for Modern Man, The Evidence Bible, The Message Bible, The Green Bible, and etc.”

This church uses the King James Version only and considers all other English versions to be perversions of the Word of God.

They will also be burning Christian books many of which were written by prominent Evangelical leaders:

“We will also be burning Satan’s popular books written by heretics like Westcott & Hort , Bruce Metzger, Billy Graham , Rick Warren , Bill Hybels , John McArthur, James Dobson , Charles Swindoll , John Piper , Chuck Colson , Tony Evans, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swagart , Mark Driskol, Franklin Graham , Bill Bright, Tim Lahaye, Paula White , T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn , Joyce Myers , Brian McLaren , James White, Robert Schuller, Mother Teresa , The Pope , Rob Bell, Erwin McManus , Donald Miller, Shane Claiborne, Brennan Manning, William Young, Will Graham , and many more.”

To round off the festivities they will be having Fried Chicken and as a side they will be burning heretical music including contemporary Christian music:

“We will also be burning Satan’s music such as country , rap , rock , pop, heavy metal, western, soft and easy, southern gospel , contemporary Christian , jazz, soul, oldies but goldies, etc.”

Response: Wow! This is even scarier than some of the dark and evil costumes or decorations we’ll be seeing tonight. Obviously this is not a ‘mainstream’ evangelical Baptist church and according to their website they are not affiliated with any denomination (obviously).

This can be seen as a ploy by the pastor to get publicity for his new church.

Other than that, the publicity for this event has gone viral. Unfortunately it has been cast by some as an example of how closed minded and ridiculous some Christians can be.            *Top

I can remember as a child seeing my first Frankenstein movie and being totally scared out of my mind. A Scientist creating a monster from spare human tissue patched together and enlivened. However reality is now even scarier. Scientists have just announced that they are able to create human sperm and eggs from stem cells.

As anything in the bio-tech world lately this development brings on mixed responses and raises a number of moral and ethical issues.

The new potential procedure is championed as a cure for infertility and could make it possible for those left sterile by cancer treatments to have children who are biologically their own.

Some scientists are even putting forth the possibility that this could allow gay couples to have children that are genetically theirs.

Then there is the scary possibility for developing a process from this technology for producing fetuses solely for experimental purposes and eventually even children who don’t really have any parents at all.

Response: Some things just should not be done. Kind of like Frankenstein.

Can you imagine a dictator similar to a ‘Hitler’ using this technology to produce a new army that no one would care about? Sort of like the ‘Clone Army’ in Star Wars—totally expendable with no relatives to care about them or morn their loss. Created to die? Some could even be raised up for spare parts—I think I saw that scary scenario in a Sci-Fi movie once.

The technology could make it possible for Gays to overcome nature and nature’s God and produce children of their own. Some would consider this progress—I wouldn’t.

One can even envision a new ‘Amazon Women’ culture where men are no longer needed at all –not even for propagation. After all men are trouble makers and have caused nearly every war in history—they could finally be eliminated. There are a few who would even consider this progress. 

Yes a brave new world is a head and not all of us find it comforting. In fact I find it even scarier that Halloween or anything that Hollywood can come up with.

He says that he wore the button to work for over a year with no complaints then all of a sudden they required him to lose the button or get fired—he declined.

Home Depot management say it is merely a matter of dress code violation:

"This associate chose to wear a button that expressed his religious beliefs. The issue is not whether or not we agree with the message on the button," Craig Fishel said. "That’s not our place to say, which is exactly why we have a blanket policy, which is long-standing and well-communicated to our associates, that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn on our aprons."

Response: First of all, I support the right of any business to have a dress code and expect their employees to follow through. However, this sounds like the local manager over reacted and may have been far too impressed with his own power.

Also, exactly what religious beliefs did the button express Mr. Fishel? —Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Mormon, Catholic or Protestant? What Beliefs?—it is part of the pledge of allegiance for pete sake! Maybe you should instruct your employees not to take any cash since the Motto of the country is on all of it—“In God We Trust”.

In the midst of a recession when everyone needs their job and ‘big box’ businesses like Home depot are suffering through a loss of business it seems insane to me that any large company would want this kind of bad PR. After all the button is rather harmless and does support the country. This is sure to bring them some grief and additional loss in sales from folks that are sympathetic to a patriotic American being crushed by a big bad giant corporation. Who really needs this?            *Top

The fact is that Turkey is no longer a close ally of the United States and Israel. A realignment of power is going on in the Middle East largely unnoticed by the main stream media and conveniently ignored by the the Europeans and the Obama Administration. Turkey, Syria, and Iran are currently negotiating a new relationship that is destined to change the balance of power in the Middle East.

For more than 60 years Turkey was a close ally of the United States, a member of NATO, and the only friend to Israel in the Middle East. All of that began to change when Recep Tayyip Erdogan came to power as Prime Minister in 2003 along with his Islamist AK Parti. The change has been even more significant since Abdullah Gül of the AK was elected President in 2007.

Daniel Pipes documents the change in relationship with the US and Israel but also the rise of a new axis of Islamic power in his article: “Turkey: An Ally No More”

The article concludes with the following:

In brief, …Turkey emerging as a regional power, a sort-of modernized Ottoman Empire. Implicit in this strategy is a distancing of Turkey from the West in general and Israel in particular. …

As Barry Rubin notes, "the Turkish government is closer politically to Iran and Syria than to the United States and Israel." Caroline Glick, a Jerusalem Post columnist, goes further: Ankara already "left the Western alliance and became a full member of the Iranian axis." But official circles in the West seem nearly oblivious to this momentous change in Turkey’s allegiance or its implications.

The cost of their error will soon become evident.

Response: This has huge implications for changing the balance of power in the Middle East. the leaders of Iran continue to talk about the establishment of a new Muslim Caliphate. The addition of Turkey to their sphere of influence provides a vital link to past Islamic power and glory.   

Remember, Turkey was the headquarters for the last Islamic Caliphate—the Ottoman Empire which conquered that last vestiges of the Eastern Roman Empire in 1453, threatened Europe, and ruled the Middle East and North Africa for nearly a 1,000 years not relinquishing its power till it was defeated by the Western Allies in WWI.

President Obama and his administration has declared war against all who disagree with their policies. The opening salvos of this domestic war have been fired against Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and the US Chamber of Commerce. A number of administration officials have taken their best shots in this war and yet all of the recipients are still standing. Fortunately the Constitution is still in place protecting free speech and free press.

Meanwhile many of his fellow Democrats are concerned that President Obama may be ‘lowering’ himself in the process. In the past, most Presidents have tried to stay above the fray and have unleashed their VP’s for these type of political conflicts, but this President has opted to become personally involved. Results: President Obama’s popularity numbers are now below 50% in some of the recent polls.

Meanwhile in the midst of domestic political battle, the War in Afghanistan is dialing up, terrorism is on the increase everywhere, and Iran continues to work on their nuclear program bringing with it the specter of future apocalyptic conflict on the horizon.

At the beginning of his Presidency Barack Obama ordered his administration to cease all of the talk about a ‘War on Terror’ and to treat all incidents of terror as isolated criminal activity—thus ending the Bush administration policies that recognized and opposed Muslim ‘Jihadi’ aggression where ever it may be found. Results: nearly every week a new terrorist plot is uncovered somewhere so the ‘war’ continues whether the Obama Administration wants to recognize it or not.

A couple of month ago the Generals in Afghanistan asked for more troops but Pres. Obama continues to sit on the requisition. Meanwhile, folks in the administration are telegraphing to the Taliban that we would rather quit the fight and allow them to become part of the Afghan government. Showing a real ignorance of who the Taliban is and what their goals really are. Results: The Taliban are encouraged and the fight has actually escalated.

On another important front the Obama administration is going out of its way to negotiate with Iran trying to defuse an on-going crisis over nuclear energy and weapons. A crisis that could erupt into a major conflict in the Middle East with Israel and Iran at the center of it all. The Obama administration continues to be rebuffed and humiliated by the Iranian Mullahs in many different ways and yet the President insists on diplomacy with a country that is basically playing ‘rope a dope’ with the international community while their scientists complete their development of nuclear weapons.

Those who are knowledgable about the Iranian religious leaders are quite candid in saying that diplomacy will not work with these religious apocalypticaly driven nuts. Nevertheless Obama is being patient with them and signaling a policy of peace at any cost. Results: Iran continues to develop their nuclear weapons and Israel continues to prepare to take them out—an increasing possibility for major conflict on the horizon and Obama is effectively doing nothing about it.

Conclusion: President Obama’s preoccupation with his domestic agenda is placing the country in a dangerous position on a number of different fronts.

1. The Bush administration keep this country safe, now that some of the anti-terror policies have been rescinded by President Obama, sooner or later we can expect to suffer though another major Jihadi terrorist event in this country. I sincerely hope that I’m wrong.

2. According to the experts, Afghanistan is still ‘winnable’ but the window is quickly closing. The President’s stubborn refusal to follow the advise of his military leaders could give the Taliban the momentum that they need to win instead. The results would be another ‘Vietnam’—a war that we could have won but lost because of political agenda.

3. Iran is developing nuclear weapons. The President and ‘The Left’ would like to pretend that it is all about nuclear energy and continue to negotiate on that basis. If any of the administration or diplomatic corps took some time and read what the Mullah’s and Ayatollah’s actually said and taught in their recent conference about the coming of the 12th Imam and World conflict they could easily read between the lines and understand that this regime is serious about developing the bomb and eventually using it—particularly against Israel and the USA.            *Top
