The two top large stones in the pendant are overwhelmingly pink--hardly any green to be found, so they have a high Ruby to Zoisite ratio. To make up for the lack of pink in the Ruby Zoisite beads, I added tiny pink Ruby beads to the pieces to add thematic color cohesion. The necklace also comes with a garnet in the clasp.

It's commonly known as "Tiffany Stone" because its patterns are evocative of Tiffany's ornate stained glass designs. I did use some lovely polished crystaline (looks like they were cut from an Amethyst geode) Amethyst stone beads (the rectangular ones) which seem to coordinate well. This is a very unique Jasper I came across. The bead store called it "Coffee Jasper" and it sort of looks like one took coffee, mixed in pearl powder, and then took chocolate syrup in a squeeze bottle and drizzled strands of syrup on top of it. The Chocolate Jasper pendant bead has a unique crack-like streak or inclusion that goes across it horizontally looking like a lightning bolt. It makes for a nice composition, along with the gorgeous Rutilated Quartz and tiny little Amethyst on the bail. I used the most amazing Rutilated Quartz nugget beads too, with lots of inclusions. It's a longer necklace with large beads. It's similar to Golden Obsidian, except it doesn't have the dark subtle rainbow colors in it...just a golden glowing sheen when the light hits it in the right spot. Think of it this way: Rainbow Obsidian is to Labradorite what Golden Obsidian would be to a dark, greyish black Moonstone--not the Rainbow Moonstone, but the pearly sheeny kind. Again as with all items with color plays...they look much better in person! Cameras are notorious for not wanting to capture the sparkles.

The pendant has some nice gold and green flashes, and is a most unusual "light" Labradorite color. The beads have wonderful surprises of almost the entire color spectrum. I think I made this necklace on Saint Patrick's Day...not surprising, as *Green is the Color* here. (a little Pink Floyd reference). The incredible bright, Kelly Green (or light Pthalo green for you painters) of Malachite and the more Neutral, Olive Green of Unakite play off of eachother for a very unusual yummy color sensation. And speaking of pink, there's only a hint of pinkish orange in the Unakite, as I picked out the greenest Unakite beads for this one. I always like to get matching beads to correspond with the pendant stones, but I couldn't tell whether the little cabachon atop the larger Pink Opal was Rose or White Quartz, so I used both kinds of stone beads in this jewelry set throughout. I remember making this one when our new kitten was still in quarantine from our other cat, and remarking on how pink he was, just like the Pink Opal. This is such a unique pendant. It's like a geode slice turned inside out with the crystals on the outside. It looks like what I imagine a large hailstone to look like inside. It's white Quartz and it's topped with Peridot and white Freshwater Pearls. I used raw Peridot chunks throughout the necklace and one in the bracelet. A unique combination of stones embellished with lovely silver Bali beads. Necklace also comes with a Pearl clasp.
