Today I surrender :)

Okay so the day started off bad, slept thru the alarm, didn’t get up until my seventh grader needed to be on the bus in 10 minutes … missed the bus. The kindergarten-er climbed on the bus all by herself without anyone to help her and rode away (me: holding back tears) I got my nail appt time mixed up and came an hour early (I really didn’t mind that part though, I had to run errands anyway). I missed the kindergarten-er getting off the bus by 2 minutes so she was scared walking down the street all by her lonesome. I spent who knows how many hours on the phone dealing with people and money (I hate bill paying day) one company we overpaid and they have a 6-8 week policy on refunds (I think I’ll make this my payment policy too) another company said they never received the check (although the bank shows it being cashed two months ago) our water bill went up by $60 per month AND my camera … oh my camera! I called the company I purchased it from and they said they gave me a contract at the time I purchased the camera (and the “we’ll fix anything that happens to it – 3 year warranty) and that I had to register the warranty within 30 days of purchase … simple problem, I received NO SUCH CONTRACT! The warranty is up thru Canon (although I can upgrade to a new camera for $1600)

And then, I borrowed a friends camera to take senior pics tonight of one of my favorite gals and found out (a little too late) that it won’t hook up to my off camera flash lights, bummer, so we proceeded without the lights and about 15 shots into the shoot … the battery died and I couldn’t find the replacement AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Good thing she is so sweet and we were able to reschedule (I better get my butt together!) So today … I surrender, the white flag is up and I am going to bed before I hurt, confuse or damage anything else … but before I do I’ll share a few of the 15 shots we did get, cuz she is a doll!

How do you like your camera … I’ll take mine FRIED!

Last night I headed out with all my gear to photograph a repeat client of mine. I love getting to watch little ones grow…he has the NEATEST eyes, and you know me … I LOVE the eyes At the end of the shoot, just when we were trying to squeeze in just a few more, my camera decided to FRY! I don’t know why … it decided to FRY!?!?!? (cute little poem eh?) Sad day. I took it in to the store I purchased it from (and an extended “we cover everything” warranty) and they are deciding whether surgery or complete replacement is necessary … boo hiss! Luckily it didn’t fry the images and we were just finishing up the shoot anyway … but man! (On a good note, I had to purchase a card reader to get my pictures off my card and on my computer, why oh why did I not do this forever ago? So much faster than the camera transfer!) Enjoy~

This is my oldest daughter’s dad and his family. That’s right … with my newest arrival expected in November she is going to have FIVE sisters (between the two families) LUCKY GIRL! Oh the hormones, ha ha ha, good luck to us all!

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph an incredible family. This little man found out only 3 short weeks ago that he has a life threatening illness. Amazing how life can turn, what a brave soul. It was my pleasure to photograph them and all during our photo shoot, he kept telling his dear mother, “I love you” … and she’d respond with, “I love you” to which he would say … “I love you more!”

I am so lucky to be reminded how great little babies are! Especially when I am only three months away from enjoying another little spirit in my home. This little dolly was only 4 months old, but isn’t she so darling? She wasn’t very happy with us until she got to eat, but then she was all giggly and telling me all sorts of stories. Thanks for coming up you guys, enjoy.

Bridals and Off Camera Flash seem to be born for one another. This gorgeous bride met up with me to try it out and WOWZERS! We first did some single shots and then met up with the groom on top of the mountain…after the sun went down we put away the lights and finished up with some natural light shots. Tons of fun … I love the results. Enjoy and congrats to the darling couple

I have to say this has been one of my FAVORITE portrait parties ever! It was so fun to get all the neat products, it was like Christmas! Thanks to all those that attended and your products are ALL to die for! So without further ado … here’s the pics and the products!

This first little group of darlings belong to Lorraine Hunt, a very talented quilter. She brought me the CUTEST baby quilt (the backing is minky!) You can see the quilt in the picture with all four girls (scroll down a few) I used it for a prop Thanks Lorraine and I am sure I will be contacting you again for more! If you are interested in contacting Lorraine about her darling quilts, email me and we’ll get ya the details.

Next is a group of FOUR girls (oldest age 3!) aren’t they dolls! Their talented mother Alexis Hicks makes these classy vintage bows/headbands (I LOVE the feathers!) to contact Alexis about purchasing bows email her at lexielou67@hotmail.com (quilt in picture is the one I got from Lorraine).

Now, how can I properly introduce the CUTEST KIDS CLOTHES EVER! (Hopefully that will do!) Stephanie Rasband with PEPPERGRASS CLOTHING makes these custom clothes/ties to fit your needs! This next group of cuties I have had the pleasure of photographing before (during the Secretly Spoiled photo shoot) so you KNOW they are darling! They brought me the motherload of bows, flowers, headbands and hats! My kids may go hungry but they will never go un-accessorized again! You can view their darling products online at LADY BUGS & LILACS and you really should!

Next we have the mastermind behing ROCK THESE BOWS, Tia Pendleton. Her stuff is so darling! My 12 year old is in love! Check her stuff out for a unique twist on the typical hair bow/flower, you won’t regret it!

and last, but certainly not least, we have Jennifer Mosley with MO’S BOWS, she has a HUGE (and I mean huge) variety of bows, flowers, hats, pettiskirts (aren’t the cheetah ones divine?) and car seat covers. I had the hardest time choosing my trade, but finally made some decisions (thank heavens for mesquitos or I would have lingered forever!)

Thanks to all that participated, it was a great time. I think next year I will do another trade party, it will probably be open ended then, so watch for that and work on your “skills”.

This couple is so cute and I am so happy for them We headed out at 10 am (can you imagine?!?! I love OCF!) battled the wind, but got some incredible images. YAY!

I had the fun opportunity to take a friend of mine out and try out the new off camera flash on the beach…LOVED IT! She went and had her eyelashes done by the EVER WONDERFUL ~ Eyelash Extensions by Stevi, image no mascara, no eyelash curler AND still GREAT LASHES! She does incredible work so check her out! The funniest story about the last picture! We were standing on the side of the road, I was having my model try and hitch a ride … just then three young lads (boys around the age of 10) cruised by on their bicycles. One of them says, just as they are passing by, “I’ll give you a ride!” HA! We couldn’t stop laughing, watch out ladies!
