She was glowing and giddy about this little man. Who wouldn’t be, he was precious and beautiful and perfect and his mama was in love. I cannot reiterate enough how important it is to put yourself in front of that camera for a few minutes, be in the moment and show your beautiful baby how full your heart was that day. In this case the most beautiful portraits that day (displayed below with mama) in my opinion were showing just that. I smile everytime I think back to this day, with every click of the shutter, the love that beamed from this mom to her newborn son..I too remember that feeling and am blessed with my own memories.  Thank you Miss Sarah for bringing me back <3

I am really big on nicknames, don’t know why, I have like a zillion of them for my son, they come and go and get recycled when the mood strikes. Currently he is bugs pronouced boogs ;)  I have to say these images are probably new personal favorites of mine. I’ve been wanting to expand my creativity into using more textures with natural elements. I’ve been loving the look of black and whites and softer rich toned images that appear timeless. My absolute favorite images are those capturing the bond between parents and their much loved and eagerly anticipated newborn child.

I love babies, photographing them and turning the images into art is extremely fufilling for me. I feel when photographing newborns I have complete control of a session and I can shoot from the heart. I can take my time and go with the flow a bit more. However, they long sessions and I feel wiped out at the end, but it’s my love and so worth it.

Little Miss Gabby’s Mommy came to me to get photos taken to mark this special moment in her daughters’  life. If I can be honest, I wasn’t sure that I could pull off Communion photos as these would be my first and it worried me that since I’m not Catholic that somehow I would do something incorrect with the rosary or how her hands were posed in prayer. I didn’t realize how amazingly beautiful photos to mark this time could be until I began editing them. I loved just about every single one that I took of this child! Well, the girl was Stunningly Beautiful to begin with, but the emotion I felt in the pose and expressions displayed made me feel closer to God somehow.

I want to congratulate Miss Gabby for this special time. And big hugs to her Mommy and Daddy as I’m sure it was quite an emotional day to see your little girl on her first Communion.  Oh and Gabby, keep working the runway girlie :)

I had so much fun photographing her! But I will say that most of the time she made me and her mom work for the adorable shots we got of her :) She’s already trying to crawl and that is all she wanted to do, even though it only constisted of pushing up her bottom. When I think about it, I don’t think she was trying to crawl at all but to get up and walk out the door, lol!  It’s so funny that even at such a young age, they get frustrated when they cannot do something they want to do.

I love taking several shots from one scene as these are and varying angles and poses just a bit so they would in hopes be a grouping of canvases (wink) on someone’s wall! The richness of the wood floor and backdrop in these are to die for and I love how all the colors came together for these shots. 

To my beautiful Sister… I love you,  you are a wonderful mother and your sweet Annelise is just perfection!
