Being Dutch I planned to use our Dutch cocoa, knowing there is a difference between the two but never realised I had to adjust the baking soda/powder because of that. Thanks so much Andrea! Asi que para los que fracasaron en su intento de hacer arequipe como yo, pueden pedir el arequipe por Amazon. Andrea,

Sometimes as ovens age they tend to get hotter than the portrayed degrees for example my oven was about 12 years old and when I pre-heated it to 450°, it would actually be around 465°, try turning it down about 10°, and see what happens(: If I may put in my input, how old is your oven?
